Y’all, I’m having serious blogger’s block. Someone help a sister out with a some good ideas. Otherwise I’m going to resort to posting random pictures of Jackson sleeping.

You could go through the alphabet and each letter you have to be creative for what you want it to stand for ๐ Some of my blog friends are doing that. Go for it!

as a mom of young kids myself, my favorite thing to see is kids sleeping, haha!!
what a cutie!!
Amanda – As the mother of 2 sons and a grandson on the way, I really like the little boy pictures. That Jackson – what a cute fella!
A favorite blog of mine was the “ask questions” to you and your Mom, and you could add Melissa!
We are all just siestas and we love y’all and love to hear from you.
How are you adjusting to the move and how is your husband doing as well?
Just keep in touch – this blog is a lifeline –
Love you –
Georgia Jan
I’m hurting….. My hubby of 20+ years has posted a “profile” on Match.com, stating that he is divorced, and that he is looking for “… a partner to relish life with…” It was a surprise to me that we are divorced. Could I have slept through that? I don’t think so! The rest of his profile was pretty accurate though, except he left out the part about how he can be a total jerk.
I need some godly advice about what to do, and I need it quick.
Well, as a new grandmother – I really love that picture!! How about posting the commissioning from the Jacksonville, FL weekend. Our group would love to start our weekly gathering by saying/praying it together!!! Thanks so much and keep running that race!!
How about some of the things you all have faced with your move to Houston? I bet some of the issues haven’t even caught up with you yet, right?
What about things you should be very careful before you pray for-like when you pray for patience and God gives you lots of opportunities to practice it! Last fall I prayed for God to make me a stronger leader- I am the director of a small urban Christian mission. Oh, my! Had no idea what I was asking for!!
I like the pics!!!! ๐ What are your 10 favorites….flower, color, band, tv show, food, drink, movie, bible verse, car, places to visit….??? ๐
What’s wrong with that? I’ve posted that recently….my girls got boxes and wanted to sleep in them, like tents. It’s weird but well, they’re having fun so I posted pictures of them sleeping in the box.
I’m likin’ the ideas of discussion on “The Shack” book and sharing our favorite Beth-isms. One of my faves is “someone’s gonna get a heavenly spanking…!” I am so excited about Colorado Springs this weekend…let Miss Beth know I have been praying for her as she prepares and am looking forward to “some gurrrl time”!
I don’t think there is anything wrong with random pictures of cute kids. In fact, I think you should include them more!
I think my favorite posts are of the three of you girls just being real with what is going on in your life. I can almost always relate or benefit from those, and that way it feels like I have an actual relationship with someone instead of the computer screen!
I love personal testimonies of “look what God has done!”
Things like:
-Salvation
-Finding hope after the storms of life
-Increased faith
-etc.
Oh, i’d say maybe what scripture/s God spoke to you in your day/week. Or maybe whatever sweet thing someone in your life did for you this day/week. or what was the one thing you saw in your world today or during the week that really reminded you of God’s love for you.
I am a siesta in SERIOUS need of some prayer. My 15 year old daughter tragically passed away last night. We are comforted knowing that her last breath on earth was her first with Jesus, but ooooooooh the pain! We have been surrounded by our community, our shcool system and our church (FBC Whitewright, TX). There are no words… Just some serious siesta prayers! Probably not the topic you were looking for but please help…
Awwwwww – I’m all for random pictures of Jackson ๐
Hi Amanda!
I love all the comments so far…but my favorite (that I totally relate to right now) is how to get out of a slump! Nothing is majorly wrong…but this nagging feeling that God is far away…lots of transitions and wondering how to get out of that slump!
Other than that…the photos of the kiddos are always appreciated! How about favorite makeup…new lipsticks…things people have tried and loved! Thnigs that remind us we are women too and not just frumpy moms! I always love to hear from the other siestas! Since we’ve moved coming to the blog makes me feel like my friends are close by…maybe some good old fashioned girl time!
Just my two cents!
With love,
Donna (the mom of twin boys)

Funny melana brought up the door. I have thought about the red door. You never did send us photos of it or if you did I missed them. I still wanna see it.
Are y’all living in a house in Houston or an apt? There are a zillion things we would love to hear about you & your sweet family.
We could do a blog of thanksgiving/praise, we could do something about mothers since Mother’s day is around the corner, we could make fun of ourselves and tell about our funny quirks.
๐ Blair
How sweet is that picture?! I have enough pictures of Ben sleeping throughout our house that I could post a different one every day for 3 months!
I hate boggers block. Hey, there’s a Siesta Fiesta Blog now. Have you seen it??
I’m still waiting to see some pics from Melissa’s wedding! Did I miss them somewhere?
Amanda,
I think it would be fun to do an anonymous (if needed) post response on what all the siesta’s professions are. Whether they work at home (domestic engineer) or outside of the home. It would be really interesting to see the diversity. Okay, now I have got myself in love with the idea. I always love to see the diversity in the body of Christ, even in my small Sunday School class.

I tell ya since you have been blocked I keep coming here and just clicking random blogs, man these siesta’s are some cool women, So anything to help us be in each others lives. Any good question. For fellow bloggers click a blog and meet a siesta..
Hi Amanda,
I can hardly believe that you would have “bloggers block”… But, seeing pictures of Jackson is fun!
How about each of Y’all telling about your, your Mom’s, and Melissa’s and Curtis’ routine when it comes to spending “Quiet time with the Lord”?
And, do you or your Mom, etc. have any ideas on how to cope with overcoming the loss of a dear father? My family and I had to give my dear Daddy to Jesus on March 24, 2008. I’m sure that other sisters would find this information very helpful, as well.

Amanda:
I loved the two ideas about last Sunday’s sermon and current books we are reading. I’m sorry, I’m a tad behind on abbreviations…what does PDLATBS stand for????

Sleeping pictures…I used to give my mom such a hard time about the pictures she had of me and my siblings in the strangest places. “Didn’t you ever put us in a bed?!” Now I have my own kids asleep in funny places! So a few years ago for Christmas I gave my mom a scrapbook–“Granny’s Silly Sleep Book” with pictures of her kids and grandkids. De javu! Too funny!
I’ve read the comments posted thus far and found the blog topics to be fun and thought provoking. If I could invite anyone to dinner it would be Corrie ten Boom. What a a testimony of faith. I would love to set at her feet and listen as she reminiced of God’s hand in her life.
I think the official Siesta food should definitely be brownies or maybe fajitas no brownies. Ummmmm not sure.
Someone suggested sharing our prayers requests and praises. These are a couple requests for you to consider:
Kimberly Grace, a beautiful kindergartner in my Sunday School class, lost her mommy today from a drug overdose. Will you join me in prayer for her?
Thursday morning I will board a plane with a team from my church headed to Rio de Janario, Brazil. We will work in Rio for a few days and then fly north to Palmas. The fields are white and ready for harvest. Our prayer is for many to come to Christ. All praise to God for what He is going to do. Siestas will you pray for us? We will be away from home for 10 days.
Another Siesta mentioned gas prices. The ever-higher gas, food, home prices etc. have been unsettleing for me. It is a little scary. One thing I’ve tried to remember is when everything seems out of control, God is still on His throne and He is in control.
This verse has helped me alot:
“You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.”
Isaiah 26:3
Hugs to all,
Mary
Oh, Amanda, he looks soo peaceful. He is a blessing, isn’t he? May he grow up to be a bold man of God who loves his Lord with all his mind, heart, soul, strength.

Amanda,
Just saw the funniest movie…Baby Mama. It was a wet your pants laughing movie with some GREAT lines. (A bit o’ language and content…not too bad.) Anyway, I think a really fun blog would be “What is your favorite line from a favorite movie?” Hey girl, are you going to be at the LPL event in CO Springs? We are taking our WM team up for the WM part and then staying. Any chance for a Siesta Mtg there? (still working on a blog) for now….NM Siesta
Just so we’re clear … keep the pix of Jackson coming! He’s adorable … and the picture of peace.
ideas …
what does it mean to you to be submissive?
what do you think about homeschooling, private schooling, public schooling?
what is the most romantic date you’ve ever instigated?
how’s that for a wide range of possibilities!
Hey Amanda: On Saturday, our ladies group did a retreat with Beth’s video “A day with Beth” from the Women of Faith Intensive a few years back. It was on biblical happiness and really resonated with us.
One of my favorite parts was towards the end and Beth’s energy was really high and she started reading and then quoting some of the verses that she uses against herself or satan to get her focus back on God. Maybe do a blog about what your scripture trails are. Cause I just loved how one scripture led to another – it was powerful. I’m working on my scripture trail – making my index cards and putting them to heart. Thanks for all you do.
Robin
Please tell us about your move! How did all that come about? Did you buy a new house? What about your best friend and her little girl you left behind? Was that sad to leave?
Oh, he is so cute! I never get tired of seeing pictures of him! Beth must be beside herself to have him in Houston.
How about an “out of the mouths of babes” blog? I love to hear what our children have to say about their faith.
A couple of weeks ago, I had a discussion with my 3rd grader about an issue that had been resolved for him. I told him I had prayed about it. He said “I prayed about it too, Mom. It just took a while for God to wrap His answer around my brain.”
A few moments later, he said “You know prayer is a power we have that is a gift from God. We have the power to talk to him, but we also have the power to hear what He says back to us.” My eyes stung with the happiest of tears!
Here’s one for Travis. My youngest is 6. Since he was 3, his favorite song is “I Am a Friend of God.” Only instead of singing “He calls me friend,” Scott sings “Because we’s friends.” We sing it that way to this day.
It would be fun to hear what the other siestas hear from their kiddos!
I’m winging to Colorado Springs on Thursday. I can’t wait!
Cute pic!!
How about one of your most embarrassing moments? (I have lots :)) Or something you wish you would have known a few years ago? A good lesson you learned? Pics of Jackson work to- you can’t really go wrong with that ๐
i think what God is saying to us right now where we are… that would be wonderful! (of course it would be easier if it were in 4 sentences or less. long posts are hard to focus on)
Sweet little man! I bet Grandma is thrilled to have you in Houston!!
Ideas for blogging:
What travel plans do you have for summer?
How do you like being back in Houston?
Is it fun having a brother-in-law?
How has the Lord been teaching you and your sister, now that you are both married women?
Do you think one or both of you will be teaching like your Mom someday?
We love you, even if you don’t post everyday. We just love being a part of the LPM family.
God bless you all!
How about a call for entries for “guest bloggers.” People could email a blog entry that would be relevant to the rest of the blog readers…you could select a handful, and use them when you’re having dry spells. It’s amazing how, when you know you have a backup plan, the dry spells don’t come so often! Just an idea…
Well, I think sleeping babies is one of my favorite subjects.. Your little guy is so stinkin cute! It brings back such great memories.. my baby is now 12.. cherish these years they really do fly by!
Let’s see your mom is attempting to cook (Lord bless your dad) and Melissa has decided to become the next Giada.. I think you need something completely different.
Motherhood really has a way of changing so many things about us, and one common bond we all share is that we can never get enough of our kids, enough of the right advice about our kids, enough of the, “what healthy snack can I make that will look adorable enough for them to eat” subject. And basically any wonderful tidbit about mothering and parenting.. Since Jackson is your focus and has your attention 99% of the time, write about what you know, and what you are into the most right now…
Blessings
Mary
Oh, Amanda I just love hearing any ol thing any ‘ol time from you. Just plain love you…..and of course little Jackson too….keep those darlin’ pictures coming!

Amanda,
While Jackson is just as sweet as he can be, How about some of your Mommas sayings. My brother & and I were talking the other day and started laughing how Mom would get mad at him and tell him to be quiet before she hits him with a wet noodle! Where did that come from? We got online and looked up some of the old sayings that our parents used against us but we never found that one.
I’ll bet Beth has come up with some hilarious ones!
I like the idea of posting current prayer and praise requests.
I would also love to hear about how God is currrently calling them to do His work and what that work entails. I’m interested in what their revalation was like, how they knew it was God, how they went about moving in that direction (was it immediate, over time, etc). These stories are very inspirational to me.
I would also love to see pictures of the inside of the LPM office — maybe some action shots of everyone working:)
Hey Amanda,
How about you ask where we’d like Beth to come speak? I know us siestas on the east coast would love another event like the one in Columbia, SC!
And I’d rather read about your “blogger’s block” and see pictures of that cutie pie Jackson and read anyone’s else blog!
Love ya’ bunches and am prayin’ for all ya’all
How about ideas for an inexpensive summer vacation?
Aww I miss those days when my four were that age. He’s so peaceful. Sometimes you don’t know what to say but a picture says a thousand words Love ya’ll Have a Blest rest of the week.
Your Sister in Christ!
Susan M.
I like the stories of everyday life in the Moores, Jones and Fitzpatrick’s lives. Pictures are always great!
How about a day in the life of….
document (with lots of pictures of course) your Thursday work day at the office and then compare it to your Friday workday at home. (Technically, I think it would be two days in the life of….but you get the idea!)

Check out Fancis Chans Blog Amanda. It is so cool this morning. Might generate some blog thoughts.
Hey Amanda,
We like the pictures of Jackson, so keep those coming.
Potential blog posts could be serious or funny. Here’s a serious one: During my prayer time, I’m presently going through “Praying The Names of Jesus” by Ann Spangler. The name I’m studying this week is Immanuel. You could share your own testimony of experiencing God’s presence then invite Siestaville to do the same.
Share some of your GodStops from Believing God and Siestaville will respond in kind.
On a lighter note, since the kitchens of Siestaville have been so busy during the past week, I’m sure there are recipe disasters to report. Think of the comic relief reporting such disasters would provide, as ministry.
Invite Siestaville to share suggestions for fun that passes the Philippians 4:8 ‘Whatever’ test. We’re in the world but not of it, so what is a Christian sister to do for fun? We could also share books we’ve read that pass the ‘whatever’ test.
Thanks so much for giving us the opportunity to lighten your load. That’s what being many members in one body of Christ is all about. I do hope your day is blessed.
Blessings to all who read this.
Patti
cant believe he still fits in there
I would like an update on Sunny.
Did you buy a fixer upper this time? I so hope your front door is a good one.
Has Beth increased Jackson’s “Praise Dancing with Granny” sessions? Has he made new friends yet? Are ya’ll going to your church you grew up in?
Is Beanie okay?
Good grief, people want to know… :), We love it!
