Ladies, the Siesta Fiesta is less than four months away! We are getting super excited about it.
I need you to know that we had a little problem with our Siesta Fiesta registration. Remember how we had all of you who were going to attend send an email with your contact info to a certain address? Well, unfortunately, all of that information was swallowed up in a black hole. Let me put this in Jackson terms: Bye bye contact info. All gone. Yes, there was weeping and gnashing of teeth. We are so sorry.
The good news is, there is plenty of time to start over. Between now and July 22 (one month before the conference), we desperately need all of our blog readers who are going to attend the Living Proof Live event in San Antonio, Texas, on August 22-23, 2008, to re-register for the Siesta Fiesta.
Here are some details for you.
WHO: LPM Blog readers + Beth, Amanda, and hopefully Melissa
WHAT: An LPM blog reader meet-up following the Living Proof Live event in San Antonio, Texas
WHEN: August 22-23, 2008
WHERE: The Alamodome
WHY: So that we can fellowship with our siestas in person!
HOW: Registration is now closed.
*In August, everyone who has registered for the Siesta Fiesta will receive an arm band that will get them into a reserved seating section. (This is in addition to the arm band you will receive when you register for the conference itself.) About an hour after the conference ends on Saturday, we will have a reception on-site at the Alamodome with all the Siestas. We absolutely cannot wait to meet everyone! We will be in touch with more details in early August.
*Two siestas, Patty and Kim, have created a blog to help the siestas communicate with each other about the weekend. Thanks, ladies! Patty and Kim are not employed by LPM or by LifeWay, but we do think they are amazing women. We’re grateful that they are helping everyone make the most of their opportunity to fellowship with each other during the big weekend. Lisa mentioned name tags and I wanted to say that Kim and I are going to make tags for those going. We are going to try and have the header in the name tag including your name and your blog’s name and hopefully what state you are from. I know, how in the world are we going to make a name tag with all that without it being a HUGE name tag. In Jesus’ name it will work. hehe
We will have a sample of the name tag on the blog as soon as possible!

I’m registered & can’t wait to meet you all. I was at the LPM event in CO Springs this weekend as well as the Lifeway Leadership convention. Way to bring the WORD Beth. The Lord spoke to me in a MAJOR way that I hope I’ll get to tell you about in August. I can’t wait to finally meet Amanda & Melissa too!! SOOOOOO excited…I have no ide who I’ll bring but I bought an extra ticket because I’m sure going to bring someboday!

I had every intention of coming and bringing my mother-in-law who desperately needs to find Jesus, but this annoying thing called life is getting in my way. 🙂 I think I have a conflict with being able to leave town that Friday. We’ll see. God can fix that, right? It’s gonna be great, I’m sure!

Okay, I must admit that I have Beth on my “who I’d like to meet” section of myspace. It’s just that the one time I did meet her…all I did was say thank you for signing my book. What a dork. So I think it would be cool to get to say “Thank You” live and in person. I didn’t say that or all the things this blog has allowed me to say. This is going to be the coolest!

I’m a San Antonio native living in East Texas. I am so excited about the Siesta Fiesta, I’m close to “giddy”. If any of you have the spare time I would encourage you to visit (what else?) The Alamo. You can find information at http://www.thealamo.org. And if you have time you should also visit the San Antonio Missions. Find info about them at NPS.gov, click on TX, then on San Antonio Missions. There is no cost for visiting either of these locations. Can’t wait to see you ladies and be in God’s presence with you all (a.k.a. ya’ll). lol

Just registered and can’t wait til August !!! I just have to thank my God for His wonderous grace. I usually have a friend who comes to events with me to help me. I am in a wheelchair and need a little help now and then, but she can’t come this time. I have spoken often to my husband about your blog that I just look forward to with anticipation every day to see what is on today, and I have told him about the Siesta Fiesta in San Antonio and expressed a desire to come…When my friend said she couldn’t come, my husband of almost 49 years, said, I’ll go with you….They let men come, don’t they? You have to know, Beth, that he loves you as much as I do. I have led your Bible studies in our home for a number of years and he is one of 7-8 men that never miss the studies and they are crazy about you !!!
So, this Siesta and my Miesta are coming in August. You’ll find us in the wheelchair section and we’ll be delighted to be there.

Ok…I live in Grand Prairie and San Antonio is only a few hours drive from me. So..I asked my sweet husband if he would take me so that I could participate in the Siesta Fiesta and he said “absolutely”. I’m in!!!!

We’ve bought our tickets to the event and we’ve registered for the Siesta Fiesta! Our room is at the Marriott Rivercenter and we’ve made our flight reservations and will be flying to San Antonio on Friday, August 22! It was so exciting to make these plans! I wasn’t coming but my friend changed my mind. So I will be joining GeorgiaJan and we’ll be on our way to the Siesta Fiesta! Two Georgia peaches that LOVE Jesus and are Living Proof of His ability to take our breath away with His Beauty…
