Siesta Fiesta Registration

Ladies, the Siesta Fiesta is less than four months away! We are getting super excited about it.

I need you to know that we had a little problem with our Siesta Fiesta registration. Remember how we had all of you who were going to attend send an email with your contact info to a certain address? Well, unfortunately, all of that information was swallowed up in a black hole. Let me put this in Jackson terms: Bye bye contact info. All gone. Yes, there was weeping and gnashing of teeth. We are so sorry.

The good news is, there is plenty of time to start over. Between now and July 22 (one month before the conference), we desperately need all of our blog readers who are going to attend the Living Proof Live event in San Antonio, Texas, on August 22-23, 2008, to re-register for the Siesta Fiesta.

Here are some details for you.

WHO: LPM Blog readers + Beth, Amanda, and hopefully Melissa

WHAT: An LPM blog reader meet-up following the Living Proof Live event in San Antonio, Texas

WHEN: August 22-23, 2008

WHERE: The Alamodome

WHY: So that we can fellowship with our siestas in person!

HOW: Registration is now closed.

*In August, everyone who has registered for the Siesta Fiesta will receive an arm band that will get them into a reserved seating section. (This is in addition to the arm band you will receive when you register for the conference itself.) About an hour after the conference ends on Saturday, we will have a reception on-site at the Alamodome with all the Siestas. We absolutely cannot wait to meet everyone! We will be in touch with more details in early August.

*Two siestas, Patty and Kim, have created a blog to help the siestas communicate with each other about the weekend. Thanks, ladies! Patty and Kim are not employed by LPM or by LifeWay, but we do think they are amazing women. We’re grateful that they are helping everyone make the most of their opportunity to fellowship with each other during the big weekend. Visit www.thesiestafiestablog.blogspot.comto see what they have going on.

I think that’s about it for now! We can’t wait to meet you!

P.S. Leave us a comment after you’ve registered!

OH how I wish I could be there. I will be praying for each and every one of you as you fellowship together. I may have to pray more for myself that I don’t spend the time in a full-blown jealousy fit, but prayers are prayers, right? ๐Ÿ™‚

Loved Melissa’s post….so glad you all get to be together that weekend. PLEASE take lots of pictures and give lots of details so I feel like I am there.

And I am with those asking, “Is there a second annual siesta fiesta in the plans…because I want to be there!!!!!!!!

    Blessings to you all!

    HIS Daughter says:

In my first post I sounded so “godly and dignified”…or something like that but actually:

I’M NOT! I want to have a child of GOD temper tantrum and lie on the floor on my back and kick and scream and cry until I get my way – as in “no nursing school starting back until Sept. and I get to go to San Antonio!”

Unfortunately, that won’t work and I don’t even think it would be a good idea to start that with HIM. That “getting my way” was something HE has already dealt with me on – several times.

SOOOOO……Will you guys please remember all of us who feel like everybody gets to go to the prom except us?

Pray for us and maybe stand and call out our names…instead of in memory…in honor of…:-)

Love you guys…glad you get to go and have fun and meet Beth and AJ and Melissa (who’s been slandered..haha) and everyone else.

Love all of you..praying that it’s everything you imagine!

    Teri

    DigiNee says:

So laughing – caught Melissa’s comment that she is coming – slanderous lies indeed! Too funny!

Amanda – second the “what if folks are coming that are not siestas? I know my firends will understand the seating thing – but, just want to second the asking anyway – this could get WAY out of control for you all and stressful – so, we will all be cool and kind, if seating is only for those who have registered!

After all, we siestas are a Godly lot!

ALSO – I am a photographer and PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE can I take shots there OR will I be kicked out as a rabble rouser???? I would NEVER publish any shots to make money as I know Lifeway and LPM are the publishing photo gurus, but how can one attnd and not take a few pics? You know cell phone pics will so happen – but I have a “regular” camera . . . let me know please!

I just read every comment and feel better that there are lots of seistas like me that can’t make it. Maybe we should come up with a support group blog for those that are wrking hard at being jealous for you not of you. J.K. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I had planned to do whatever it took to go alone to a city and state I have never been to so I could meet up with a bunch of people I have never met. Then I found out there was an event in my neck of the woods (Billings, MT) the very next month so I just couldn’t justify the expense, being away from kids etc. Even if it is not organized by LPM….maybe us Billings seistas should plan a get-together of sorts.

This is my first time to leave a comment! Yea! My wonderful sister-in-law registered us for the conference as my birthday gift. I just signed my two sister-in-laws and myself up for the siesta fiesta! I wasn’t sure if I counted as a siesta as I have just been reading the blog for a couple of weeks, but my sister-in-law Amy assured me that I do. I’ve done some back reading during some sleepless nights, and I can’t wait to meet you siestas!

To His Daughter I will pray for you to finish Nursing School and you pray for me. I got four kids I’m attempting to do this with It’s the math and being at the bottom of the totem pole . I’m praying for the Lord to help me test out of some of the remedial Math . Started a semester of Pre-reqs and had to sit out a semester with my kids and their troubles with their schooling. I’m determined to finish it. It’s my heart Desire to be a Nurse and be able to pray for them while caring for them.(I’m like 40) now which is like the norm for Ladies in my age bracket. Kids came first . they are 14,12, 10, 7. Lord Keep them healthy so I can finish I need a miracle, I trust in you though!

Okay, maybe this isn’t the time or the place, but as a fellow siesta, I thought this might add a little humor to your day. We’re finishing the Tabernacle Bible Study tonight at my church and it’s my night to bring snacks, so I made some little Arks of the Covenant out of graham crackers (think gingerbread house) complete with the budding rod (cow tail with icing dots) Ten Commandments (Hersheys Special Dark) and manna (lemon icing blob). On top, I glued yellow fruit loops to the four corners with lemon icing and put skewers through them for the poles and the mercy seat is two lemon gummy wedges facing each other. I have lost my mind! But man, they are the cutest things.

IT WORKS- I prayed for that same thing when I knew I couldn’t get through it and someone gave me some examples to go by and one night…IT CLICKED LIKE I HAD DONE IT ALL MY LIFE!

My mom, sister, and I will be coming!!!! We are so excited to have a girl’s weekend in San Antonio, let alone get to hear Beth “bring the Word,” worship with Travis, and meet our Siestas. We are looking so forward to it already.

My Mom first introduced us to Beth’s bible studies back in 1999… I was a newlywed and my sister was still in high school. God is so amazing in bringing full circle what began almost 10 years ago! I feel like we have grown up with your family- My Mom always said that Beth’s stories of Melissa and Amanda reminded her so much of her two girls.

We are ecstatic to be able to meet you and hug your necks in August. Thank you for setting up this arrangement for us! I hope you will be doubly blessed for how you are blessing us!

    Yay, Melissa IS coming!!

To “Yours in Christ” from the UK. If you go to Google Earth you can find the Alamodome and hotels that are nearby. You can also just “Google” HOTELS CLOSE TO THE ALAMODOME. Also on the part of LPM’s website where you register for the event are lots of hotels listed. Most of them DO NOT have room left that were reserved for the event, but they may still have other rooms. As for airports, I don’t know, but I bet you can find that online too. That’s how I do most of my “shopping”. Good luck and we sure hope you will be there!

I am so upset I cannot attend. This year is a challenge, because we are stating Dave Ramsey’s Total Money Makeover, and it’s my 10 year wedding anniversary, we are also starting the adoption process, so we are trying to weigh what we will be able to do this year. And since I live so far away from Texas, I’m in Maryland…
