Ladies, the Siesta Fiesta is less than four months away! We are getting super excited about it.
I need you to know that we had a little problem with our Siesta Fiesta registration. Remember how we had all of you who were going to attend send an email with your contact info to a certain address? Well, unfortunately, all of that information was swallowed up in a black hole. Let me put this in Jackson terms: Bye bye contact info. All gone. Yes, there was weeping and gnashing of teeth. We are so sorry.
The good news is, there is plenty of time to start over. Between now and July 22 (one month before the conference), we desperately need all of our blog readers who are going to attend the Living Proof Live event in San Antonio, Texas, on August 22-23, 2008, to re-register for the Siesta Fiesta.
Here are some details for you.
WHO: LPM Blog readers + Beth, Amanda, and hopefully Melissa
WHAT: An LPM blog reader meet-up following the Living Proof Live event in San Antonio, Texas
WHEN: August 22-23, 2008
WHERE: The Alamodome
WHY: So that we can fellowship with our siestas in person!
HOW: Registration is now closed.
*In August, everyone who has registered for the Siesta Fiesta will receive an arm band that will get them into a reserved seating section. (This is in addition to the arm band you will receive when you register for the conference itself.) About an hour after the conference ends on Saturday, we will have a reception on-site at the Alamodome with all the Siestas. We absolutely cannot wait to meet everyone! We will be in touch with more details in early August.
*Two siestas, Patty and Kim, have created a blog to help the siestas communicate with each other about the weekend. Thanks, ladies! Patty and Kim are not employed by LPM or by LifeWay, but we do think they are amazing women. We’re grateful that they are helping everyone make the most of their opportunity to fellowship with each other during the big weekend. Visit www.thesiestafiestablog.blogspot.comto see what they have going on.
I think that’s about it for now! We can’t wait to meet you!
P.S. Leave us a comment after you’ve registered!
I’m registered and cannot wait!!!
Beth, AJ and Melissa,
I am so blessed to be spending such a time as that particular weekend with my Siestas from the LPM Blog.
I have shared this before and won’t be mentioning it again as most of the Siestas familiar with me know my story. Still, I am marking two very special occasions of my life that weekend. August 22nd will be my 10th wedding anniversary to the man who has taught me so much about love and drove straight back to th arms of my Savior for ultimate love lessons of my life.
The other occasion is August 23rd- I have found the joy of the Lord in my season of grief, but still each year marking the day my oldest child went home to be with Lord gives me pause. He passed two years ago and I have personally written letters to Beth previously about that testimony. It has been Beth’s teachings and ministry that have helped prepare me for this season of my life. The strong foundational truth’s I learned in study leading up to those months in 2005.
It is a time that will mark great change in my life as my mentoring group for bereaved moms kicks off at my church this fall. It is a divine appointment that I am anxiously and eagerly anticipating. I love ya’ll and thank my God for you everyday.
I am registered. I am so so so excited… I am also coming alone! School of course starts the week of the event, so my huby will be doing it alone for that Friday. Pray Y’all School transitions are so hard! Tiff

Can. Not. Wait!
WAHOO! So happy I will be able to experience LPL in August! Beth, God has spoken to me through you in so many ways during so many of your studies. Praise God for using you as such a willing and powerful vessel to spread the Good News!
Registered…gotta check with the rest of the gang and see how many others I can drag along! Possibly 4 maybe 5 of us! It will be grand!
Hi Amanda,
WHOO HOO! I am registered! Can’t wait to see you and Beth and maybe Melissa (I hope she gets to come) and all my siestas in just 113 days! Two of my Hartselle, AL siestas and I will be there with bells on. Gotta go and tell them to be sure and register. See you soon! Hope this isn’t a duplicate. My original post didn’t appear to go through, but if duplicated, I’m just doubly excited!

Dianne

CALLING HOUSTON AREA SIESTA WILLING TO BAKE A COBBLER!!!!!!!!
I need your help! It’s sort of a long story, but I need a cobbler…well, not just any cobbler, my cobbler…delivered to a Houston area brother (miesta?) in need of some TLC. I thought about mailing one…but even by overnight that just seems gross. Don’t you agree? Anyway…if you live in the Houston area and would be willing to bake and deliver a cobbler…wow! Would I ever be thankful! I’ll pay for every little step you take in this endeavor…and pitch in a little extra to get your toes done after the task is done!
Anyone willing? Shoot me an email!
Big big hugs…
Oh! And I’m TOTALLY coming to Siesta Fiesta! Are you kidding? I’m in like jelly shoes in 1985!
๐
I’m sad because I can not attend in August!! I would have loved to have met all my siestas!! Hopefully, there will be other opportunities!
We have registered!
Kathy & Kathy

I’m registered. Can’t wait to meet everyone!
so sad… no way I will be near San Antonio at that time.
Any chance of a Nashville Fiesta??
Done – have 8 tickets, but some are flaking out on me – so, have no idea how many I will bring – but I will SOOOOO be there!
Just a quick question – what if we are coming with a church group or friends who are not siestas? Can we just sit with them and then come to the reception afterwards?
Registered! YAY!
Crying ……………. just can’t get there then and I sooooo want to. BUT, am going to be a part of the satellite hook-up for the Living Proof event in Louisville, Kentucky on August 1-2 AND going to see you in September when you, Priscilla Shirer and Kay Arthur are in Las Vegas in Sept. (already have my bracelet for that event)sooooo, I am grateful that I will get to enjoy your words from Heaven at those events. Sure would love to be a part of the more intimate event and get to meet fellow bloggers ………..next time. Will be looking forward to hearing all about it from all of my fellow siesta’s that will be able to be there.
Loving you all
I can not wait! God can’t wait either to bless every single siesta that will be there….AND I will be one of those siestas! Hallelujah!
I have been ready since August 30, 2007 when I bought my tickets! Praise the Lord~ Praise the Lord! If I don’t die of excitement I will be there with joy unspeakable and full of His glory!
Love you Siestas!! jan
Thank the Lord for this blog…
Unless God intervenes, I won’t be going to the Siesta Fiesta or the conference in Billings this year. But you all will be there and can fill us stuck-at-home siestas in on all the excitement!
It will be almost as good as being there…well not quite almost, but I accept what I’m being given!!
Love and Fun to you all (whether you are going or not)!
Tammy in Montana
I’d love to come from the UK as we here also love Beth and all of you to bits, but I’ve never been to teh States before and wouldn’t know which hotels are near the venue/airport. Which airport? I’d hope to get a friend who was able to come with me. Do you give such info. so that I could book something? Can anyone out there help me please?
Many, many thanks,
Pam
See you then! Can’t wait to meet everyone. My friend Carolyn in coming with me. This is going to be a Siesta blast!
Love you!
Mary
Brazil bound today. Please pray for us.
I registered back in the beginning and am lost in the black hole! ๐ Now I cannot come since we will be birthing a baby GIRL (after 2 boys) or will have just birthed a baby GIRL (I’m a little nervous!) So I’m very sad to not be there but very excited to meet the little one that God will bless our family with. Pray for a safe delivery and healthy mom and baby! I’ll miss meeting you all! This must be done again … I promise I will not be preggers or birthing a child for the next one !!!!
Wish I could go, but I know you will all be richly blessed!!!!
I just about cried reading this. I want to be there sooooooo bad. I’ve just got to pray that you guys will do something similar in NC real soon so I can be a part of that. CINDY in HIGH POINT, NC
I am so sad that we can’t be there! I really hope that the Siesta Fiesta will be an annual event and we can come to another one. Know that we will be praying for all our Siestas and will be with you in spirit!!!
Sister Lynn
My 3 daughters and I will be there and we are very excited. We love to start the day checking on all our siestas. Paula-Sonny-Cassie-Franki Taylor
I SO wish I could be there. I don’t have a blog, but I read so many of yours that I feel like I know you. Yes, I know that’s weird, and I’m sorry. I already am going to LPL event in Louisville Aug. 1-2. I’m taking a group of ladies from my church who have never seen Beth before. I can’t wait for it, but I will be thinking about all of you blogging siestas and wishing I were in San Antonio with you!
Amanda,
Quick question! I am bringing my mom to the event with me..her very first women’s conference! Praise the Lord!!
Anyway, she is not a “Siesta” but can I bring her with me to the Fiesta? I already registered for the event and got my armband for the both of us.
Thanks… and still soooo excited! ๐
Hey Sisters Thanks for the prayers for my Grandmother who has lung cancer. She’s gained five pounds while living with my parents. Keep praying for the Lord to Heal her. Her name is Evelyn. I love Her she’s a great Lady. I want the Lord to show Himself mighty to her and How much He loves Her. I love my Blog Sisters and appreciate your support. I really wish Icould come and meet ya’ll as soon as I finish Nursing school I will.
Love your Sister in Christ
Sue
I wish I could be there I would love to meet everyone of my siesta,s. Maybe when we do this again It will be closer to me and I can go. I will be praying for each of you who are attending. Love
Cindi
Woo Hoo! I’m registered!
Siestas –
I am feeling the pain of the others that cannot attend, because I will not be able to either. Trying not to pout, cry or feel sorry for myself. Have a wonderful time everyone and let us know the details of the trip. I mean D-E-T-A-I-L-S!
Love and Blessings, Debbie in Tennessee
Registered and cannot wait!!!
You all are awesome!!!
Awww… Wish I could be there. This year has been so full of trips already and we still have several more to come, so I couldn’t possibly make it. :o(
I’ll just have to give you all and my fellow Siesta’s cyber hugs instead.
Sigh.
Dear Anonymous, please don’t fear going to an LPL event alone. I did it once and found that GOD was very much a part of orchestrating it. It was hard to do, but the Lord provided me with wonderful ladies to fellowship and worship with. It ended up seeming like a special “date” with the Father.
Much love and more than a little wistfulness…
Anna in MO
One more comment to “Anonymous” who was worried about coming alone…
I went to the LPL in Baltimore several years ago alone. We’d just moved to No.VA and I didn’t know a soul… Took the train up from DC, spent the night in a hotel by myself… it was truly a precious time. Dear friend… you’re never alone. And, you’ll have your SIESTAS!! I may be there alone too… maybe we can hook up!
It would be so nice to jet off to Texas for a girls weekend, but sadly motherhood, celebrating my 16th wedding anniversary, school starting and budget restraints because of school starting (wink) won’t allow it.
I’ll be at Deeper Still in Atlanta and LPL in Louisville, though, and I can’t wait.
Okay Siesta Fiesta attenders — don’t brag too much! You know there are alot of us Siests who would be there if we could!! ๐
Blessings,
Dori
What a great idea! Can’t wait for the conference, I will be celebrating my “50th” birthday with my girlfriends at your conference!

My name is Rhonda and I live in New York State. Oh, I wish I could come to Texas and meet all of you! My daughters and I just finished Beth’s Study “John the Beloved Disciple” – what a blessing. I have never been to Texas and due to finances, not much traveling the past 2 years.
May the Lord bless all of you Siestas
YOU ARE AWESOME!
PS – Beth – I was born in 1957. What a comfort to learn you turned, (ahem) 50 last year along side myself!!!!
Registered!! Done!! Ready to pack!
Ready to celebrate Jesus with some Siestas!!!
Blessings in Christ–
Amanda, What do you mean, “hopefully Melissa”…of course I am coming, I wouldn’t miss it for the world. Stop spreading slanderous lies about me. hehe. ๐
Seriously, can’t we have a little gathering at Starbucks in Minneapolis???? The weekend before????? Cuz that’s where I’ll be. North!! Come on…just one latte????
OH MY GOODNESS! I”m so excited! I can’t believe a Siesta reunion of sorts! I grew up in a little town Southwest of San Antonio (Uvalde), so SA and the Riverwalk are like home for me. Now that I live in the Panhandle, I LOVE going “home” any chance I get! Woo hoo!!
All done! Can’t wait to meet everyone in person.
To my siesta Dianne from Hartselle, Alabama!! This is Patty from Tennessee. My WOW sisters!! I saw your comment and sweet picture and I need you to email me if you read this!! I was so blessed to run into you at Deeper Still in Nashville and I will never forget meeting my sweet W.O.W. sisters at the LPL in Knoxville!! I am so excited you will be in San Antonio!!
Love,
Patty
