WHOA! Huge for me today, as I too was led to 2 Peter 1 this morning as I am struggling to parent my 18 year old son! I wrote in My Story in The Story (my blog) about how it is so important to take Peter’s example and remind me oten, as I hope all of my children will have Christ in them even when I am no longer on the earth. Beth, your prayer at the end brought me to tears and I sat with my arms up in the air, open wide just weeping! Thank you!!

    Dear Beth,
Thank you for the updates and wonderful word. I for one was not tired of James for a second and can’t wait to hear about this next one. I think until it’s revealed every time I think of you I’m going to picture you holding a beatifully wrapped package that I just can’t wait to open. I have just started the Esther study on my own and have been so blessed. I will continue to pray for you and Melissa that you will hear and know His heart as He so tenderly speaks to us through your words so beautifully and fitly spoken. Blessings to you.

I thought I was the only one pen challenged! My favorite pen finally gave out of ink after 10 years – it was a REALLY good one! Enjoyed the new perspective this afternoon Beth. Blessings to you and the crew!

I thought I was the only person in the world who randomly prefers a blue pen and would actually care to mention that to other people. ๐Ÿ™‚ Yay! A sister for sure!

I went to a funeral today. Everytime I am reminded of who God is, how I want God to reflect in my life and what will my life say about who I am. I don’t want everyone talking about me, but about my God. I am nothing without Him. At the same time, there is that joy of knowing others when they know God and knowing their life makes a difference.
Funerals are like memorials for family and friends. It says remember, for they are very much loved, but their God has a greater love for you in the end.

    So precious!
    Loved God’s Word 2 Peter 1:5.
    Super add those qualities.
Love t.h.i.s. because you bring us all to the God Who can do this for us. It’s not a moral obligation but our total honor—totally grace in the face of all we have to handle for Him. Thank you for offering Hope from a Good God on our very narrow paths.

Thanks Beth- for some reason Im struggling right now to re-member Im forgiven!! I heard you were going to be at the MOPS conference 2013…I would love to be there but even if (probably)not, Im so excited you are going to be there to give a word to us moms who have young kids! God is the only way I make it through the day, hallelujah!

Love when we get a video post!

Let me just say that I have ordered my spiral and I’m starting to ask God to lead me to the verses in His Word that He wants me to memorize and meditate on.
I’ve also asked Him to provide for me to attend the SSMT celebration in 2014. I participated in the last SSMT, but didn’t have the money to go to Houston (and I had a big fear of flying). I do not have that fear over flying now (thank you, Jesus, for Your healing!!) and I hope to spend some precious time with my SSMT sisters for this next celebration!

I feel like we really sat across from each other and conversed. What a blessing to me. Beth you are so stinkin cute.

I have spent much of my life mentally and spiritually “dismembering” myself. What a great way to conceptualize that. God loves us all so much that it is His heart’s desire that we live in constant remembering of who and whose we are. Building up instead of tearing down. Together instead of breaking apart. Lord, thank You for one more bit of Truth.

Also, I am excited for another year of structured SSMT. It helps. Wooowho!

Great message! I also like that yall used your “Deuteronomy” (these are the Words!) chair here as you talk about re-member. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    jami says:

Thank you for such a great word! Oh, how the devil tries to keep me “remembering” events alone to themselves for the horrible things they are when Jesus wants me to
“re-member” them in the light of His glory and grace. Hallelujah! He is on the throne. He does have a master plan. My hope is in the cross where He showed His infinite love, forgiveness and redemption.

Thanks so much Beth! I can’t wait to hear what the new study will be. You & Melissa are in my prayers as you are in the midst of writing it.
I’m SO excited for the 2013 Scripture Memorization time together. I’ve done it the past two times. I encourage all who can to participate.
Thank you all for this blog. Because of it I have amazing friends from all over the U.S. and beyond that I never would have become friends with otherwise. It’s been such a God thing because these are ladies who have truly become very good friends.
Thanks for taking time to talk to us. I love you and am looking forward to facilitating the Deuteronomy study at my church in 2013. I’ve already watched a few of the dvd’s and am so excited to share it with our group. Merry Christmas!!!

    Jill H. says:

Thank you Beth! This was such a wonderful reminder for me today! I have been working on the issue of “shame” and how that affects us in every area of our lives. I am finding that years of “dis-membering” can lead to not only physical, emotional and spiritual issues, but physical issues, as well. I believe that “re-membering” how God has freed us from bondage brings our whole self into relationship with God rather than this part or that part. He has covered our whole person, every stain, every sin, in His precious life-changing blood and has covered us by His blood, the blood of the Lamb! We are white as snow and this Christmas season RE-MEMBER that we are His precious child and He loves us fully! Thank Jesus for how you have worked in our lives and covered our shame, just as you did for Adam and Eve in Genesis, you did for us personally by sending Your precious Son Jesus! We love you.
Thank you Beth for this sweet precious “re-minder,” of how He has worked in each of our lives. Jill H.

    Nicola says:

As I watched the video my husband came in and told me he asked two of our counselors to tell me to give up bible study and prayer. But he won’t tell me why. Wow! is Satan ever active in our house.
How else could I re-member who I really am? This year I have learned about the “Torah of Adam” God’s “Word” to “Man”, God’s original intention toward humanity. And the “Genesis Face” in James. I am soooooo blessed by His sweet satisfying presence.

      Jackie says:

      Hi Nicola.
It is so very hard when a husband is not supportive when we want to deepen our faith.

I know this and I pray that your counsellors will support you both and soften your husbands heart.
I also ask the Lord to work on my husbands heart and let him see clearly that my faith is changing me for the better and not coming between us.

I am praying for all four of us.

Thank you Beth for your devotion to teaching and guiding us. RE-Member and DIS-member made a profound impact on my thoughts this evening. Dismember has such a graphic connotation of pain and agony, just like we cause ourselves when we do not RE-member that we are forgiven. AND how dis-graceful we are when forget God’s grace is a gift, given freely to us. I do thank God daily for his UN-memory of my sins.

    Hi Beth and everybody!!

Amen! Amen! God is doing big things in me through some severely tough trials this year. I love seeing God’s Word come alive and seeing Him answer prayer so distinctly that there’s no mistaking it for good fortune!

Beth, I too have laughed out loud at myself and am quite sure we crack God up sometimes!! Hahaha

    Much love and prayers,
    Margie

Hi Siesta Mama and LPM team!

Thank you so very much for the videos, the studies and your fantastic ministry. I struggle so badly in relating to women my age, and the Lord uses you so much to draw me closer to Him and I’m so grateful. This has been the first full year that I’ve studied with you (James & David) and I went through “So long insecurity” book which truly changed my life. So much so that my BFF said he noticed a visible change in me. Thank you for being a mentor team; my church doesn’t teach the Word that well, so I am so appreciative of the challenges you provide through the Word. Just want you to know how much I appreciate this blog and your ministry. The Lord has literally used you to change my life, and I’m thrilled. Love you all and may the Lord bless you abundantly, Darla

Looking so forward to the upcoming Siesta Scripture Season. Because my husband, Gabriel, is currently battling Stage 3 Salivary Gland Cancer and will be undergoing radiation will be choosing verses about relieving drought and thirst and a parched land beginning with Isaiah 58:11.
My second topic for theme verses will center on hope. Took this theme from our experience this past Friday. Leaving the surgeon’s office, where he had pronounced that Gabe has “a decent chance “of survival, if not cure, we pulled into the lane to turn onto Fairview Road and noticed the liscence plate of the car up ahead read “HOPEMORE.”

I just spent my lunch time over a bowl of soup, with Beth talking to me – it was divine! Thank you for the words you brought us and for reminding me of the Lord’s work. I am excited about participating in my 1st scripture memory work.

  36. 86
    Kristin says:

    Beth,

First, you did NOT tire any of us out when talking and writing about James bible study! It was wonderful to hear the progress and your studies would never, ever be a “let down.” I always look forward, with great anticipation, to your studies and the word that God has for me through you.

Second, I too, have had a pen crisis!! Being a teacher and “wanna be” writer, I have become mildly obsessed with good pens…..Even known to have taken a good pen from a fellow teacher, if I like it, only to return it later out of guilty feelings! Always need a new good pen for a new bible study, etc.

Third, thank you so much for your prayer and for being a vessel through which the Lord speaks. Your studies, and the genuineness and openness that you give, has changed my life.

I so enjoyed your post, including that you prefer a good pen and blue ink like I do. Blue is so much prettier than black!

I’m excited to join the scripture memory project this time. I joined your blog near the end of the year last time, and have been looking forward to it. I posted your blog entry to my facebook timeline and hope some of my fb friends will join me.

Thanks for your faithfulness to God and His Word!

    Becky Bigbie says:

The blog was awesome this morning… But the strangest thing happened and I wonder if God was speaking to me!! The video kept getting stuck with 3:02 left. So I kept backing it up slightly and hitting play. Over and over, Beth was telling me that we can get stuck in a cyclical dismemberment!!! Hmmm. I literally replayed it 6 or 7 times and it was stuck! I think I need to forgive myself so I can re-member!!! I had to restart the video to hear the rest. God made his point! Thank you Beth for sharing the stirrings in your heart. Love you all!

    Barbara says:

I love your vimeo on scripture memorization. I tried to start last year and failed, but I am going to do it this year. I have found one this a.m. and would like to share it with you “Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God proves true. He is a shield to all who come to Him for protection.” If I did it right, it’s mine for December 2012!

    Sue Putlock says:

Hi Beth and ladies…I cannot express to you how much I appreciated your words and those of Abraham Joshua Heschel on remembering and dismembering! Very powerful as I have been struggling with the temptation by the enemy to remember the forgiveness given me for those things I am already forgiven of. Very powerful quote and I’d love to see it posted up…beautiful offering to share with others.

Loved James, working towards The Law of Love and cannot wait until the next release. I appreciate the gift you, Melissa, and then entire team are to our spiritual well being. I love you all…

    Blessings!

    Beth,
Could you write that quote out so I can keep if for further reference. LOOOOOOve it!
I struggle with re-membering and only see myself through that filter of sin.
I so want to view myself through the cleansing power of our Lord.

    Loved these words today.

    Pam HOuston says:

Dearest Beth, Today is my mothers 100th Birthday! Incredible and amazing grace…and to hear this “Loquacious Blog” from you is so perfect…My mother was born on 12-12-12 near 12:00 midnight! Her legacy of love and life lives on, even though she is dull of hearing now, and can barely relate. We have her in a private residential care home and I have agonized over not being able to keep her myself 24-7, guilt is such a terrible thing! These words from 2 Peter 1 such a balm and has given me a springboard to speak to our family which will be able to gather between 10:00am and noon today at her home, since those 2 hours are a window of time where she seems most responsive. My brother, his wife, my husband and I and my sister along with 2 grown grand children and their spouses and 5 greats will be able to assemble to honor Mother today…even though she may not be able to recognize us, we know her! And I’m trusting that what her mind cannot comprehend, her heart will understand. The amazing grace is that yesterday, my darling Granddaughter Jaedyn celebrated her 6th Birthday, and today her Great Grandma Leatha will celebrate her 100th birthday! I’m sure Jaedyn will never forget her 6th birthday and joint celebration with 100 year old GG! I did a gigantic balloon bouquet with a white teddy bear holding the balloons which do double duty for Jaedyn’s Bday yesterday and Great Grandma’s today. The white bear holds pennants in each hand – one says “Jaedyn is 6!” the other says “Great Grandma Leatha is 100!” May we remember and reunite the whole of life. May we not forget all the LORD has done for us and will continue to do for us in grace and glory.
God bless you Beth for all you do for us here in Siestaville. I am so grateful for your ministry to my heart. Life is worth the living because of Jesus. And I’m living proof!
    BLessings,
    Pam Houston
