8. Ezekiel was picked up by a lock of his hair and suspended between the heavens and the earth:

Fun trivia quiz! A challenge as I really did need to search for a few!
1) King Belshazzar saw the handwriting and it said “Mene, Mene, Tekel, Parsin.” Daniel 5:1 “King Belshazzar gave a great banquet for a thousand of his nobles and drank wine with them.” 5:5 “Suddenly the fingers of a human hand appeared and wrote on the plaster of the wall, near the lampstand in the royal palace.” and 5:25 “This is the inscription that was written: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, PARSIN”
2) Uz and Buz were nephews of Abraham- Gen.22:20-21 “Some time later Abraham was told, ‘Milcah is also a mother; she has borne sons to your brother Nahor: Uz the firstborn, Buz his brother, Kemuel (the father of Aram),”
3)David uses these metaphors and calls sons “well-nurtured plants.” Ps. 144:12 “Then our sons in their youth will be like well-nurtured plants, and our daughters will be like pillars carved to adorn a palace.”
4) Zechariah wrote “His name is John” and then he could speak and was praising God! Lk 1:63-64 “He asked for a writing tablet, and to everyone’s astonishment he wrote, “His name is John.” Immediately his mouth was opened and and his tongue was loosed, and he began to speak, praising God.”
5) The verse is Deut 33:27 and God is called our refuge. “The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemy before you, saying, ‘Destroy him!'”
6)On the island of Malta, Paul was bitten by a snake that should have killed him, but he did not die. Acts 28:5 “But Paul shook the snake off into the fire and suffered no ill effects.”
7) First they thought he was a murderer and then they decided he was a god. Acts 28:4 “When the islanders saw the snake hanging from his hand, they said to each other, ‘This man must be a murderer; for though he escaped the sea, Justice has not allowed him to live.'” and 28:6 “The people expected him to swell up or suddenly fall dead, but after waiting a long time and seeing nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and said he was a god.”
8) Ezekiel was the prophet and he was suspended between heaven and earth. Eze. 8:3 “He stretched out what looked like a hand and took me by the hair of my head. The Spirit lifted me up between earth and heaven and in visions of God he took me to Jerusalem, to the entrance to the north gate of the inner court, where the idol that provokes to jealousy stood.”
9) Jesus is healing a blind man in Bethsaida and after the first part, he could see, but not clearly. Jesus touched him again and he could see clearly. Mark 8:24 “He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.”
10) Rufus’ mother was like a mother to the Apostle Paul! (How cool is that?!) Rom. 16:13 “Greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord, and his mother, who has been a mother to me, too.”
Thank you, Beth, for this challenge!

I loved working on this. I printed out the quiz and was able to find them pretty quickly EXCEPT for #8. I truly would not give up and I guess it’s prideful but I wanted to find the answer on my own without asking. Well the only thing I could find about somebody being picked up by hair was in II Samuel 18 when Absalom’s hair got hung in a tree, but he wasn’t a prophet……..BUT I’m doing the “Breath” study (which is amazing ….. On my knees thanking God for these lessons too) and in Session 4, our Siesta Mama mentioned that Ezekiel was and its found in chapter three!
Thanks again for all of your lessons and this quiz and love how you love teaching about how to have a deeper relationship with Our Father!
