Saturdays Are For…

Saturdays are for turning off your alarm and sleeping in.

Saturdays are for lingering a little bit longer over that cup of coffee and that good read.

Saturdays are for eating leftover cake for breakfast.

Saturdays are for dressing casual.

Saturdays are for wearing a little less make-up, or maybe no make-up at all.

Saturdays are for cleaning that dreaded bathroom.

Saturdays are for washing your sheets.

Saturdays are for laying by the pool; of course only during summer when we’re melting here in Houston.

Saturdays are for exploring Pinterest to receive cooking inspiration for the next week.

Saturdays are for going on long, peaceful walks.

Saturdays are for laughing with friends.

Saturdays are for going to the movies.

Saturdays are for being unaware of what time it is.

Saturdays are for looking forward to Sundays.

Saturdays. They’re just good. And they all look different.

Your turn!

Cheers to Saturday being less than 12 hours away!

Lately I’ve been using Saturdays to fellowship with God. I pray and read the Bible the rest of the week as well but I’m trying to devote more time on that on Saturday so I can get closer to God. I’m feeling more blessed for it. I’m not doing this nearly as well as I should but even the little that I am has given me more peace. I was feeling chaotic and guilty before; and what could I do with that but take it to God in prayer? Thank God for Him.

Saturdays are for working from home when necessary, which is better than the office because I can work from the comfort of my sofa and watch TV. During a sadly too short season, Saturdays are for college football. Saturdays are for chatting with or getting together with friends. When I don’t have to work or study, sometimes Saturdays are for sleeping until I wake up on my own, without the alarm clock!

Saturdays are free from chores or grading homework but freely soaking in Father’s love. Marveling at His goodness. Recharging and restoration. Remembering He is YHVH and I am His dearly loved child.

Saturdays are family pancake mornings, devotions and prayers/praise.

Saturdays are days to cuddle with dogs on the sofa for a good read.

Saturdays are long snowy walks in the park with the big dog– no rushin’ even I live in Russia.

I agree with you 100%. I just accepted a job for the next 2 months, helping a special needs child in the drama club. Saturday mornings at 9:30 – 1:30… I am really going to miss my relaxing Sat. mornings, but couldn’t turn down the money. When the play is over, I will go back to my relaxing schedule… Enjoy your Saturdays.

Sharing caring walks with husband on beach another favorite. DINNER with other couples n FRIENDS and sometimes followed with group prayers. Saturday’s are for fun
I am retired so this is now a ‘no work day’ unless I feel like it — no laundry, no bathrooms or floors
Checking out book tv on Cspan, love those shows often finding new reads
Strolling through my favorite antique shops, going to a movie or finding a new place to eat good fresh fish
Lucky to still have my best friend hubby and we love a Saturday together. Thanking God for all our blessings, precious son & wife and daughter plus 5 beloved grands
    Amen & Amen

Saturday mornings are usually filled with the tradition of fixing pancakes for my hubby and three sons (2 of them come home for them). Then it is a day my husband and I like to run errands together.
But today is different. It’s my 55th so I’m excited I get the Belk Dept. store 20% senior discount on Tuesdays now. And of course, I’m going to have my gray colored this morning! My husband is at a Johnny Hunt Men’s conference. What a great gift it will be to have him come home refreshed in the Lord this afternoon!

After that, Saturdays are for getting the house ready to sell and thanking God that he has provided, even though my hubby lost his job and started a new one with much less pay.

Saturdays are for looking around at this big house we’re selling, that’s full of stuff I don’t need, and praising God for teaching me my security is in HIM and nothing else. Feeling loved and free on this Saturday.

    Love ya’ll. πŸ™‚

Saturdays are for…SINGING!! My husband works every other Sat. morning for just a few hours. On those Saturdays, I crank up about 3 radios in different rooms and belt out my praise songs to the Lord while dancing all about. Only my Bible study and reading time compares to the joy I receive during these times. I LOVE singing to the Lord! (Hence my email address…..ha) Should I mention here that I am 61 years old?? Thank you, Lord, for creating music– it feeds my soul, and I pray it brings glory to YOU.

      Linda says:

I with you, Vicki, on the singing (and the age)! I’m a great “joyful-noise” singer, but I know that when my singing reaches His ears, it’s perfect. Gives me incredible joy to praise our LORD in song, and I like to think that it makes Him smile.

Saturdays are for hitting the 4:00am to snooze. Then hitting the 5:00am to snooze. Then, awakening to the voice of a lovelie @ 6:00am. Saturdays are for trying to put make-up on in the back seat of a jeep with the whole floor board filled with suitcases (on both sides), rolled up jackets, large bottle of OJ (somewhere down there), uggs propped up on center console, large pink fluffy dog bed next to me, with the dog laying across my stretched out legs(finally unrolled a jacket to cover the black uggs from the her hair). Bag of dog food sits in between us, with a silver dog bowl, a bottle of water, make-up bag with small mirror (4get it), a mug of coffee between legs (forget about trying to find the cup holders

    Hey Lindsee,
Sorry, it cut off half of what I had written out, and had a small “thanks” to you for making this a fun Saturday. Just 4get what else was written… N the position I’m in it took more than patience to write it out. It did have some funnies in it though. Just wanted to let y know something clipped off more than half of the comment. Maybe I went over? Or, maybe it just wasn’t God’s will

  36. 36
    jaycie says:

Just to let you know tried to thank you again, and also agreed that Saturdays are for the hopeful promise of the following LORD’S DAY, when the body of Christ intimately gathers together to worship The Lord as one in Christ. I agreed with you on that one. Sorry for the blunders(a precious piece of me is raw to the numb, trying with all effort to shift, but am just stuck).
Saturdays are also for fun 5 hour trips w/the family (if you can tell between all my blundering efforts) without being able to move to even get out to go to the ladies room.

P.S. Found out I was being cut off at every emogen I used. Thought I had seen others use them b4. So it was my fault/mybad.

Thank you for making this Saturday trip a fun one. Praying you all have a glorious week-end!

    Joyce Bailey says:

For 30 years, as a full-time working mom/wife, Saturdays were chore/errand days. Made a point of getting it all done on Saturday so that my family could focus on the Lord in special ways on Sundays. Recently retired so the pressure of getting it all done on Saturday is gone…ahhhh! So…am busy transitioning into a much more relaxed lifestyle; and I love it. Praise to God for His provision for my life during those 30 years…and beyond.
