Houston Tuesday Night Bible Study for All Women Starts Jan. 21st!

Houston Area Ladies! It’s that time of year when we’re beside ourselves with joyย  to invite you to our January-March Tuesday night Bible study! God has blessed us with favor to meet as a very diverse community of women from every background and denomination at the central location of Houston’s First Baptist Church on 7401 Katy Freeway. We love Pastor Gregg and Kelly Matte so much and we do not take this privilege lightly.

We launch our brand new 7-session series on Tuesday January 21st at 6:30 in the main auditorium. We hope to see many familiar faces but we also hope to serve hundreds of women who are new to the study of Scripture and haven’t quite awakened to the love of Jesus Christ. If you’ve been with us before, come again! And this time, bring somebody brand new! Somebody less-discipled! We’re hoping that this series will blow fresh air into the lungs of seasoned believers but also lend itself well to women who have very little background in the Bible. Pray that for us and with us!

The name God placed on my heart for this 7 week series is Breath: The Life of God in Us. Our goal through the series will be to spotlight places in Scripture where the Spirit of God quickens the lives of people like us, empowering and invigorating individuals to do in Jesus’ Name what cannot be done by human flesh and blood alone.

If you’re weary and worn out, we pray God will use this series to put iron in your soul. If you’re weak and defeated, we pray God will use this series to infuse you with a strength wholly beyond you. If you’ve never had the faith to believe, we pray God will pour His Spirit out on you and bring you to new life in Christ: the life you were placed on this planet to live. If you’ve felt for years like God has called you to some kind of purpose but you have no idea what, we’re praying He might use this series to fill you with insight and direction. If you’ve been a believer for decades but it’s been a while since you’ve felt the fire of Christ in your bones, we pray God will use this series to revive you.

We are believing God to reveal Himself powerfully to us and we don’t want to miss anything He desires throughout these 7 weeks. I’m asking Him to pour out His Spirit on me in 2014 in ways that exceed what He’s done in the past. Maybe you’re asking Him the same kind of thing. Let’s go make ourselves available to Him corporately through worship and the study of Scripture for these 7 Tuesday nights and see what He’d invest in us to make our 2014 vastly glorifying to His Name.

All women are welcome, including those with very different beliefs or those who have little interest in spiritual things. If you are willing to come, we are anxious to welcome you and serve you and, because we know God to be faithful to His Word, we believe wholeheartedly that your time will not be wasted.

Needless to say, there’s no cost to attend. I wish we could offer childcare but it is just impossible for us to pull off on Tuesday nights. Carpool if you have several friends coming but, also, don’t hesitate to come alone. We never know how many to anticipate but we certainly hope to anticipate you. You could not be more welcome. Come and see.

For more information and many of your questions answered, click here to visit our Houston Connection page .

If you’re in the Houston area but unable to join us or you’re from other places around the country and globe, please say a prayer for us! We want so much to bring glory to Christ, to be used by Him to extend the outreach of His powerful hand, and to serve women in His merciful Name. If you happen to be in the city on one of these Tuesday nights, go grab some Tex-Mex for supper then come worship and study with us! We’d be thrilled to have you. Dearest love to you and I hope to see you soon!

    Oh! Beth!!
If I could afford the plane ticket I would come to Houston just to take in a night of Bible study. Your women do not realize how really blessed they are to have such people of faith so close by to learn from, and they can attend in person with little trouble.
I just recently wrote to LPL about the difficulties and hardshops some of us have trying to attend a LPL event! Some of us have to travel 500 miles to attend and spend alot on gas, lodging for more than one night some times. In the northern tier there are weather circumstances as well to add to the uncertainty of the mix.
I just recently got an email that ND is once again being considered for a LPL event!! I was so excited I talked and prayed with some women of our capital city of Bismarck who want a Beth Moore event so badly they can taste the Tex Mex!!!
Beth, right now in ND there are so many uunchurched people
here looking for work in this Bakken oil boom. I have kids coming to my tiny, tiny, Sunday School who say they have never heard of Jesus!!
These gals in Bismarck are praying for an event like this Beth to revive thier tired spirits I think we all need a fresh jolt of His unmeasureble power to quicken our spirits!
Please consider us for a future event and we continue to support you as always with our prayers and anything else we can possibly do!! BTW!!!Bismarck has two Starbucks!!!
    Love and prayers,
    Betty M

My heart so needs this Bible study. Since I don’t even live close to Texas I won’t be able to attend. I will be praying for this study to bless and encourage the women who will be coming. Thank you, Beth, for your obedience to God’s calling on your life.

  14. 14
    Stephanie Gayle says:

I would be willing to pay a fee if in the future the Bible studies could be done with live streaming, or put on the website to access later so as many of us could participate as possible. It’s just a thought. We love you so much Beth!

I pray that God gives you all that you need in 2014. May God bless you today and the ladies that work for you. Deborah Galloway says:

I will be starting the study “So Long, Insecurity” on Monday 1/20, with a group of 12 women in a drug/alcohol treatment center in Pickens County, Georgia. When I read the announcement of the Houston study I wanted to attend so bad I allowed myself to imagine my girlfriends and I finishing up our studies on Monday nights…throwing our stuff in a bag flying out there..attending your study Tuesday nights…hopping back on a plane to Atlanta later that night! I think I’m beginning to think like Beth!?!
Once my feet were back on the ground (so to speak)I decided we could participate in a more realistic way. We’ll PRAY!!!!!! Beginning Monday night 1/20 as we start our study we will pray for the study our sisters in Houston will be doing on Tuesday nights!!! We’re so blessed…SO BLESSED!!!

    Camilla says:

I so wish these Bible studies Beth does in the Houston area could be live streamed thru the internet. Is there any chance of that happening? It would be such a blessing to those of of us around the country who don’t have the opportunity for such a rich experience as this will surely be. Blessings and prayers for The Lord to breathe his holy breath upon you all!

  20. 20
    Bev Flynn says:

I wish you could put this on a video like you do your little ones online for us.

  21. 21

I SO wish this Bible study was available for your out-of-town Siestas! Is there a way to watch the sessions via live stream? I know I’m going miss out on such great teaching! Or, will it be available for purchase afterwards through downloads or DVD/CD.

Maybe I should buy myself a cowgirl hat and matching boots, then move to Houston!

Praying for Beth, LPM staff and attendees. I know the blessings will be extra sweet and abundant!

  22. 22
    Naomi says:

I would love to attend these Bible Studies but I live in another state. I wish you could livestream these Bible studies sometime or make them available through the internet. This is a great way to reach the unreached.

  23. 23
    Tami says:

Will be praying for all! I concur with the others…please make available in some format for those who live out of state. I loved doing the Law of Love (hint-hint.

  24. 24
    Judy says:

Wonder if I could talk my husband into moving to Houston for a few months? Probably not. I will be praying for you Beth and the group. That many will grow in Christ and all will be blessed.

  25. 25
    Kathy McGee says:

Wish I could be there! We are starting ours on the same day. Our pastor’s wife will be teaching “James-Mercy Triumphs” on Tuesday morning at Bella Vista Baptist Church in Edgewater, FL. I am so blessed to live in Houston and be able to attend Beth’s bible studies at First Baptist. This will be year #7 for me to attend and it is always such a special time. I usually come by myself and never feel lonely. There are tons of women to talk with but it also feels very comfortable to be by yourself. Step out of your comfort zone and come, you’ll be blessed!

    Diana A. says:

Living here in Canada, I just wanted to say how wonderful to hear the title of your series, as GOD has been sending me Word of Breath of Life – with Jesus too.

I am not at all writing or preaching, just aware of the idea and asking for God’s Breath upon my life, my studies, my daily activities – within me to use for others.

I love that God uses small nudges as confirmation – I may never hear your blessed teaching on this, but just to know He is bringing His Spirit to us all in a new, deeper way is exciting!

You wonderful ladies at Living Proof are always telling us Siesta’s how much you love us, but can I just say…I sure hope you know how much I love you…

  34. 34

I am so humbled and thrilled to be able to come. I have done several Bible Studies at church in Missouri but then we moved to Texas…to Galveston for my husband’s work. When I read about this in November I began praying that The Lord would allow me to go. We homeschool. The drive from here to there is long and I am new to Houston traffic. So when He spoke to my heart that I was going to be coming….Happy David dance!! So excited! Pray the Lord grows me in ways I so need! Thank you for your ministry! Excited BEYOND words!

    Lori Willey says:

You don’t have to publish this publicly.
You will be greatly blessed teaching this. When I first read it I have to be honest, it felt like God took His breath right out of me.
You see, I had been studying this topic for two years. I wrote a study in that time called “Breath” that is also 7 weeks long and I taught it three times in the last year. I didn’t copyright it because I am such a small fry and basically, am lower than that; a fry. I wrote a manuscript on it and it is in the hands of a man I thought the LORD wanted me to have look at it. He told me he can’t read it until March. I had given it to another publisher friend prior and he had it for five months, forgot to read it and apologized profusely. He was on his own international book tour so I can see where he completely forgot.
My initial reaction to seeing your study unveiled was like all the ilfe left me. I sobbed and felt like I had been toyed with by Jesus and then I realized it is His study, His Word, and I praised Him through what was still self-pity.
I had to leave for my daughter’s and first grandchild’s baby shower in ten minutes after seeing your study. I sucked it up, went to church where many of the ladies that had taken my study were gathered to love and bless my daughter and my little grandson, Ezekiel.
After the shower I shared with my closest friends what had happened. They prayed, I asked forgiveness for self-pity and released anything that I felt was mine back into the One’s Whose hands it truly belongs to.
I pray blessing to you. I pray that He becomes as alive to them as He did to all those that I taught my study to. That they too, leave changed forever in the full knowledge of His Breath and life within them.
I so wish I could participate in your study. I don’t know why God keeps doing strange things in relation with you. I have been a prayer minister at your events at Grace church in Eden Prairie for Live and Simulcast and will be again April 11th.
When you were last at Grace you did the alter call. I was led to go to a woman and you came to the very one I had my hands on that I was praying for. Your hand touched mine and I pulled away feeling like you had a greater right. The LORD told me after the event when I questioned why I pulled away, “Don’t shrink back.”
I will still trust Him in the manuscript of mine and trust Him releasing the study to you. I think now, I understand His words better.
Bless you, dear sister in Christ. You will love what He does in this Word! To Jesus be all glory and honor!

        Dear Sherry and LPM,
I just found your precious reply. I can’t tell you how dear it is to me. I was coming back on to consider finding a way to leave a message of encouragement for you all after tonight’s first exciting night of your series for “Breath.”

I had been praying all week and especially today and this evening for you all. Joy welled up with every prayer.

Bless each and every one of you dears and your lovely hearts that serve Him so purely.

    Patti Howard says:

I am so thankful to read of your willingness to ” sow to other fields.” The Bible studies and LPM events have helped to draw me into a deeper relationship with HIM but I also have such a burden for the lost and are excited to hear God has placed that burden on you also. My burden may be a little different from yours as I am tremendously burdened by those who think they are saved but are not. The Bible is full of passages warning about this and urges us to examine to be sure we are “of the faith.” The reason for my burden is that I was one of those. I based my salvation on something I did when I was 10 and the fact that outwardly I had good works(SS teacher, youth worker, etc.)Being born in the South, the Bible belt, almost everyone says they are saved and most have walked an aisle. I am here to shout, “HE is real. Do not settle for anything less that a true relationship with HIM.” No change means no genuine salvation. I am so thankful that at 42 years of age, HE drew me, didn’t give up on me, convicted me of my need for HIM, and enabled me to know HIM, instead of know about HIM and there has been no “getting over it” as some said I would. Sixteen years later, I continue to desire for others to know HIM. Prayers with all of you as you seek HIM for direction and courage to speak truth into all the venues He opens for you. Wish I could be a part of Houston study, but GA is a little too far to come weekly. Praise God for all of you. Prayers always.

    Mary Sutton Strader says:

Omgoodness! I am so stinking jealous that I don’t live in Texas! I am from Kentucky! To far to travel once a week but I would so be there if I could. I did a word study on breath and breathe a few years ago and I still can’t read my notes any other way but on my knees! You will never walk outside and feel a breeze and not realize G-d is with you. Absolutely fascinating! So wish that you could tape this so others (non-Texans) would have a chance to hear. Will steep you in prayer during this 7 weeks.

For months now family members and friends have been praying for salvation for my son and future daughter-in-law. When I heard about the new bible study I invited my daughter-in-law and she said she would love to come.
