I have been involved in a lot of bible studies with my sisters in Christ. A lot have been Beth Moore studies, who I love & get so excited about. It was she who the Lord led me to in 2008, when I had alot of life changes that were devastating. God led me to my sisters; whom@ the time I did not know. He provided the transportation with people I didn’t know, to an awesome Beth Moore Live in New Orleans that boosted my faith & gave me the strength I needed to follow the path He was setting before me. What a journey it has been. Alot of heartache, pain, doubt,& questions. I found deepest love, answers to prayers, faithful friends, God’s people, more questions, more direction, some clarity that has been questioned for most of my life. One of my friends journals. She has been trying to get me to start for years. I have started different journals now. I find they all fill a void & gives me a relationship with the Lord- that’s just between us. One is scripture and favorite verses. Besides the bible studies, this has helped tremendously with understanding the Word of God. Another is a gratitude journal. This was started when my mother was going through the worst part of her cancer. It’s hard to see anything good when you care for someone you love so much that is suffering & going through the worst pain of their life. My friend asked me to try this, & I was very sceptical at 1st. But I found that it’s so easy when we are surrounded with pain & suffering to see the Glory of God. I was so surprised at all the things that I could find to to grateful for. Another journal is the personal one between my God & me. It contains everything else. You are so right, Beth Moore, sometimes the things that happen in our lives are revealed to our social medias way too soon. Long before God had shown us what He wants us to see, to know, to share. When my mother passed in June, I believe He answered questions & opened my eyes to things I’ve had questions on for most of my life. Not that I feel, I should not of shared any of His works, but that it was, indeed, an ongoing journey; with alot more clarity now than even 10 years ago. That, I believe is how we must share our testimonies. As ongoing, receiving more clarity as God opens our eyes, as maybe He feels that we are now ready to understand better. Beth, I don’t know why I have shared so much with you, as this is just supposed to be a small excerpt to enter a contest. Since the 1st time I saw you live, & all the studies I’ve been involved with; I feel that is the type of person that you are. Someone God has groomed & put you on this path of teaching because you are so loving, so easy to feel close to. Your understanding of the Word, & your explainations of the scripture has opened my eyes & heart beyond belief. Thank you for your true love of God & wanting to share it. Btw, did several of your studies last year and in one you made the comment,”Let your man off the hook!” That, in context of the sermon, changed my perspective about my marriage relationship 180 degrees. It has changed my life, my future, and my choices in regard to how I relate to my husband and my children. THANK YOU SO MUCH for allowing the Spirit to use you, for doing the work to be there and say what He’s putting in your mouth, and for being bold in proclaiming truth. After doing the James study I have become an avid believer in Beth’s intensive methods of studying God’s word. Can’t get enough the word and miss not digging in when I take a break. He speaks loudly thru his word. 🙂
