Siesta SMT Celebration Recap

Good afternoon, Siestas! Monday probably would have been a more appropriate day to write this post, but we went straight into Tuesday night Bible study, so I wanted to get through that before we spent one more post on SSMTC. So, please forgive me for any details I might be missing.

It was a wonderful weekend, was it not? I personally had the sweetest time receiving and giving so many hugs, and putting names with faces I see all the time on the blog. In fact, I think someone mentioned on Saturday that is was National Hug Day. How appropriate is that?

One thing some of you may not know is that this was my second SSMT Celebration. I attended the celebration in 2010 as a participant and Siesta. Isn’t that so fun? Getting to serve you ladies this time around was a complete joy and honor. I often referred back to the first SSMTC and took in where the Lord had brought me since then. Who knew? To be so honest, it was very surreal. He is so good and sweet.

We started out Friday evening STRONG! I got to the church early around 2:30 with Jenn, who happened to be in charge of the entire event, and some of you beat us there. It was so fun to see how excited y’all were. Jenn and I ended up getting ready in the bathroom at church before things got crazy, and I got so tickled when about five of you walked in on us as we were freshening up our make-up. Real life, folks, real life!

After getting things all set up and ready, we opened registration at 5:00 and that’s when most of you started flooding in. At the registration table we gave a lot of hugs, and also some cute tote bags, pens and a program. They were adorable!

At 7:00 sharp Travis and his team led us in some powerful worship. If he doesn’t do it for you, I’m not sure who would. They are such an anointed and gifted group that genuinely loves serving the Lord, and it shows. Not to mention the excitement in the room. During the second song I walked up to the balcony to get a quick picture and just stood there for a minute to take it all in. We are a real blog community that has come to life. Instead of reading and posting your sweet comments, I got to stand there for a minute and listen to y’all sing. It was a sweet moment. Again, probably just another one of my nostalgic moments that I’ve been having lately. Please forgive any sappiness.

Once worship was over Beth was up and not only did she have a WORD for us out of 2 John, she surprised us all by reciting the entire book to us by memory. Because of how animated and passionate she is, I think it’s safe to say we all felt like we were watching a portion out of a Broadway play, except she was speaking the living, breathing word of God. For the next three sessions, on into Saturday, Beth spelled out the word WALKING for us and had a point for each letter.

There is no doubt in my mind that each woman walked away with some truth in her heart and the courage to take back her ground the enemy has trampled on or stolen! Wow. I’ve been thinking about my ground all week.
When we wrapped up the Friday evening session, while Beth took pictures with the different regions represented, the rest of us enjoyed cookies and cocoa in the Fellowship Hall. I didn’t get to personally drink any of the hot cocoa, but I heard it was out of this world. I know for a fact the sugar cookie was, as I did enjoy one of those. Or maybe two. Grin.

We all cleared out Friday night, only to lay our heads quickly on our pillows to return bright and early Saturday morning. Travis and his team and Beth all did a phenomenal job.

Halfway through the morning it was time to say our scriptures to each other. During this time I walked around to snap a few pictures and it was really fun to see everyone in pairs all around the building reciting your scriptures out loud. What a powerful time!

Throughout the weekend, we gave the ladies who could recite all 24 verses an opportunity to do so with a partner and claim a gift we had for them, and do y’all know we counted 385 that signed off for reciting all 24 verses? That is amazing! I think our in house cheerleader, Evangeline, cheered each of them on individually very enthusiastically. It’s what we do best at LPM.

We even had one Siesta recite all of her scriptures in Greek to Melissa on Saturday. Incredible.

Once we’d all said our scriptures, and all the pressure you felt was gone, Beth sent us out on the letter G: Go out into the world WALKING in what you know. It was the perfect ending to a perfect weekend. Travis led us in some foot stomping worship and then when all was said and done, I heard most of you talking about going to get Tex-Mex. That was very wise of you to do.

Ladies, you were an absolutely blast and the sweetest, most gracious and warm group of ladies and not to mention fun and beautiful. To say y’all are easy to love would be an understatement. However, I don’t want to leave out those of you that couldn’t make it this weekend! Know that you were thought of, prayed for and MISSED! Your hard work didn’t go unnoticed by us one iota. We love each of you dearly and haven’t stopped talking about you since Saturday, which started out through text message the minute we all left HFBC Saturday afternoon. Thank you so much for making a trek to Houston to celebrate with us!

Although saying this doesn’t plaster a pretty pink bow on this post to wrap it up, I want to let y’all know that we will not be doing scripture memory this year on the blog. That has been the number one question we’ve received so I just wanted to make it clear. We do, however, encourage you to continue on doing your scripture memory and grab a few ladies to do it with you! Don’t let this blog keep you from memorizing scripture. But do be looking out for Siesta Summer Bible study and be sure to check back in 2013 for scripture memory.

If you wrote a recap post, feel free to share a link to that specific post in the comments section with your comment. I know other ladies would love to read about your experience.

We love you ladies dearly. And we mean it!

Travis and Angela Cottrell

Worship. Sorry for the quality, these were captured with my phone.

Ladies reciting scripture to each other all over HFBC.

Our youngest Siesta who recited all 24 verses as well. Each time she did one, she jumped up and down and clapped. It was precious.

Our scripture wall. Awesome!

Thank you again, ladies!!! It was such a blessing to be there this weekend! I came solo, but stayed that way only as far as the lobby of my hotel! I immediately connected with other siestas and had precious friends for the whole weekend! I’m already looking forward to January 2014! I have let the women of my family know that we WILL all be doing this together!!

Lindsee, it was so great to see your smiling face when we walked into the church! You are a wonderful addition to the team! 🙂

Does anyone have a copy of the commissioning from the end of the weekend? I was very touched by it, and would love to have it written out! Would it be possible to post that here? If not, no worries!!

Anna Ruth, I would imagine Beth will post the commissioning, but I’ve got it here. One advantage to the simulcast…..
(Lindsee or Beth, if you are posting the commissioning, just delete my post! Hugs to both of you. 🙂

My dear Siesta, because of Jesus Christ,
You are a Chosen Lady,an “Eklecte Kuria.”
God himself has been sowing the seed of His powerful word in your heart and your mind.
Do not lose what we have worked for.
Let what you believe make it to your feet.
Abide in truth and live to love until every single word He has sown into your life, results in a harvest. Do not let the deceiver have your ground; in the name of our God….PUSH BACK!
Keep your hands full: the shield of faith in one hand, the sword of the Spirit in the other hand, and you fight the good fight.
If we do not meet again on this fallen earth, I will see you at the throne and there, my dear sister, we WILL be face-to-face, not just with each other, but with the Glorious Lord Jesus Christ.

      Hope I got it right!

What a wonderful weekend! I was so tickled when Travis told us we needed to get our “angry face” on and push the enemy back. That sort of summarizes the weekend for me. Mama Beth’s teaching was such a great battle cry for 2012 — we aren’t going to lose our reward! No way!

I am going to try to memorize 20 verses this year starting February 1st. If anyone is looking for accountability, I would love for you to join me. Here is the link to the invitation post on my blog: http://3dlessons4life.wordpress.com/2012/01/20/hiding-20-in-2012-intro-invite/

Amazing!! I got on this scripture memory thing about half way through. I had my first Beth study (Esther) last year and have been following the blog since. I haven’t commented much, but just wanted to say amazing. I have a few friends who have started memorizing scripture with me. It has been a blessing. I love the pic of the little girl. I wish there was a video of her recititng and clapping and jumping. My six year old would love it:) She is learning scripture too and it would add to the excitement. Looks like y’all had a great time. Thanks for sharing:)

Thanks for the recap Lindsee. I have been checking the site frequently in anticipation. After the first SSMT Celebration, I made a scrapbook ( only my second one, and first without “help”) and I loved printing off the recap to include with my own thoughts and pictures. THANK YOU and ALL the LPM staff for being so welcoming and working SO hard for all of us. I love Siestaville…it is a special place where JESUS is lifted up and where each Siesta is loved.
I came alone to both celebrations but NEVER felt lonely. In 2010 I met Sheri, Jackie, and Charlotte in the Omni lobby and they were gracious enough to drive me “around ” to dinner and the church. This trip, we all met at the Hobby airport and managed to get in trips to Pappasita’s, IKEA ( mine and Jackie’s first time EVER to an Ikea), Galveston beach, and First Baptist before the three of them left Sat. from the church for the airport. Two new Siesta friends, Nancy and her mother Sue, gave me a ride back to the Omni after a lunch stop at Cafe Express in Uptown. Even though I was without transportation the rest of the weekend until I left on Monday, I took Beth’s message to heart and literally WALKED to the Galleria, Luby’s (twice), and Uptown Park. Already missing my Siestas but looking forward to sharing Jesus on the blog and hopefully meeting again in 2013. Thanks again to Beth and all the LPM staff.
    Love, Linda

What an amazing weekend! Even though I did not make Friday night (got snowed in in Chicago and arrived in Hou after midnight), it was worth every moment I did get to experience with all of y’all! God did some powerful things in my life this weekend, and I’m still trying to process them all. By His grace, I was able to recite all 24 of my verses, and I am going to continue this year, as the dicipline has been such a blessing in my life. Thanks so much, Beth, Travis, and the whole LPM team for the celebration!

      Kate says:

      Debbie,
I’m pretty sure I met you and your friend at the Omni on Saturday night. We were sitting out by the fire pits doing a little studying! Just wanted to say thanks for stopping by and chatting with us and that I’m glad that y’all made it home safe! It was great to get to visit with you!
      Kate (from East Texas)
PS – If I didn’t meet you, sorry for the confusion! But I’m still glad you made it home safe and that you got to be with us in Houston for the celebration! 🙂

      • Debbie Schindehette says:

Yes, Kate, I do believe that was me/us Saturday night. We talked about the wedding you went to in Seguin, where I am from. What a small world! For both Ruth & I the trip home was graciously uneventful, Thank You, Lord! I went pretty much straight from the airport to Praise Team pracitce @ my church, and sang “Victory in Jesus” with more gusto than usual (We’re doing that one in Feb.)
It was wonderful meeting you and making the hometown connection! Makes coming back to dreary skies and snowy ground of Ohio easier with the warm & cheery memories! God bless you!

What a great recap post, Lindsee!

I am a little bummed about no SSMTC this year, but trust me, it won’t stop me! My sister and I have already committed to memorizing Psalm 139! Can’t wait to get the bible study going. Here is my recap link on my blog–

I had such a wonderful time at SSMTC, and am SO GRATEFUL to LPM for making it possible, to Beth for bringing us such a meaningful lesson, to Travis and the praise team, and to HFBC for hosting. Y’all are so generous!

It was great fun to meet up with old friends and to meet new ones; siestas are amazing in their passion for Jesus.

    Much love to all,

I wanted to make it happen last year but I didn’t. So this year I am already 2 1/2 verses in and pleased as punch. Since there won’t be a SSMTC this year, a friend from church and I have agreed to press each other on and then celebrate together in a special way next January. We’ve already planned to make the trek to Houston in 2 years. So excited! Thanks for providing encouragement for memorization. What a blessing!!

I stumbled upon this sweet, wonderfully inspiring community very, VERY recently, so I missed out on the Siesta Scripture Memory Team. But, crazy enough, one of my New Year’s resolutions was actually to memorize a different verse every week of 2012! I’ve picked out 52 that speak to me and have started memorizing those, but I’d LOVE to join up with any Siestas who are also memorizing scripture in 2012 – for support, encouragement, giggles… whatever helps! 🙂 Here’s a rundown of my plan for “Project Scripture,” as I’m calling it: http://mrshargrave.blogspot.com/2011/12/project-scripture.html. Here’s hoping I’ll be celebrating as you ladies did this weekend sometime early next year! 🙂

    Kathy B says:

Thank you, Lindsee. You are absolutely darling! If I were smarter, I suppose I’d have a post somewhere bursting with my exuberance from this weekend. Instead I’ve just bubbled over onto whomever stood still long enough. My 18yr old son was my latest victim at dinner last night. Even he was impressed with my story of how several of us obtained our Texas soil from the ditch outside a vehicle impound. To quote the illustruous Leigh Gray, “We’re taking our ground back, and our car!” Is anything funnier than a gal who can be clever in a crisis?
How blessed beyond measure to meet many of the LPM staff ladies. Hugs, indeed! And did I mention I was on the same flight as the Cottrell’s and they kindly autographed my copy of Cottage Living. Use what you’ve got 🙂
Did we get a word? Actually we got two: eklekte koria (sp?).
And for any sweet siesta feeling understandably left out, those words are for you too. For each of us in Christ are a chosen lady!

    Thanks for the recap Lindsee.

I stumbled upon the blog late in 2009, too late ( i thought) to join in SSMT celebration early 2010. Bummed that there wasn’t SSMT in 2010, excited when SSMT started again in 2011, turned in all my scriptures and realized in December that I can’t make it to the celebration.

Although I’m sad not to be able to celebrate with you gals, I want you and Ms. Beth to know that this scripture memory exercise has helped me so much in 2011. I was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer Jan 2011, that plus various life situations have made 2011, ‘interesting’. Whenever I was worried, or sad, I’ll pull out a scripture that I’ve memorized, and keep saying it over and over. Sometimes, it doesn’t even apply to the situation at hand, but I’ll say it because it’s the only one that comes to mind. Amazingly, just confessing and saying God’s living words in any situation, makes it better! 🙂

Guess I’ll have to try for SSMT celebration 2014! In the meantime, I’m starting the James study and will be memorizing James this year.

Bless you all for what you do.

Thank you Lindsee for the great recap. Wish SSMTC were happening again this weekend, although my husband might protest (grin). This was my first SSMTC, and I was blessed to attend with my sweet daughter Rebecca. We were both so happy to meet you, and Rebecca even got a hug from Beth. I can’t say how much this blog and Beth’s teaching have changed my life in the last year. Jesus is so sweet, and the ministry of Living Proof is so good! Thank you. Here is a brief recap on my blog (thanks for letting us share): http://words-on-the-way.blogspot.com/

Can’t wait until 2014! Rebecca and I are memorizing scripture again this year. I already have my first verse down!

  19. 19

Thank you so much to Beth and all of ya’ll at LPM for leading and hosting SSMTC! I enjoyed briefly meeting you, Lindsee and it is nice to have a voice to go with the blog post! This year of scripture memory with my Lord and this blog community of Siestas has been sooo precious and moving for me. The Lord longs to give good gifts to his children and the memory work and SSMTC that followed was a VERY GOOD GIFT. I will treasure up these things and ponder them in my heart through the year. 🙂

THANKS to all LPM staff, Beth, and volunteers for a great celebration. The generosity was overwhelming on top of the blessing of the memorized word already. I was privileged to listen to Karen say all 24 verses and share in the victories of my two daughters as well. Lord willing, more of the gals that memorized with me will be able to come in 2014. I am planning a get together to share with them in the near future. God’s richest blessings to all of you as you continue to hide God’s word in your hearts!

    Ruth says:

THANK YOU, Lindsee, for the re-cap. Speaking for the 3-400 who were with you on the simulcast, it was just fabulous. And I want to THANK THANK THANK LPM for going to that special trouble to include those of us who were SSMT’ers, but not able to get down to TX.
There was a truly “intimate” sense of things, being able to join in real time and knowing what a privilege it was to be linked in like that–and to know that I share this particular connection with those women who filled up the front of First Baptist. That actually choked me up more than once. My darling husband joined me on Saturday morning, and we had our Bibles, notebooks, software all open and cranking to absorb the most from Beth’s anointed teaching–not to mention standing right up in the den and worshiping with you all.
God is amazing. His Word is sustaining and insightful. His Body is Beautiful. THANK ALL THE SSMT Siestas for walking this path this past year.

    Dear Lindsee,
Thank you so much for the recap. I was not able to be there physically, but was there spiritually. I am so looking forward to maybe being able to be there for 2013.

Loved the pictures, especially the VERY young little lady who memorized all 24. “To God Be the Glory, Great Things He Hath Done”!

Even though you aren’t doing the SSMT this year, I am going ahead with doing my own. God blessed me so much with His Word, I really cannot imagine NOT doing it.

Blessings to the whole LPM team.

I’m sitting here with eyes full of joyful tears reading Lindsee’s recap. Can I use this opportunity to say that we have just begun the James study (second week) here at FBC, Panama City, FL, and I am receiving huge extra blessing from Melissa’s additional research and contribution to Beth’s study. Melissa, you are awesome and I just have a feeling that you have one very proud mama! I actually go straight home from Bible study and dive into the study with an excitement that would be beyond comprehension to the world. What an awesome God we serve and what a privilege to be living in this particular time. Beth, you are truly a servant of God and He is changing lives as He uses you in a mighty way.

    To God be the glory!

Thanks so much for the recap! I had such a wonderful time. It was incredible to actually be there in person. I came alone but never felt lonely. My one regret was feeling rather “under the weather” on Saturday so I was not able to branch out and get to know some of you ladies as well as I would have liked to. Overall, it was an amazing experience and God really spoke to me. Thanks so much to Beth and all who planned this event.

Here is a link to the blog I wrote after the weekend. As a warning, it’s rather “deep.” 🙂 That’s kind of just who I am: http://openupandletgo.blogspot.com/2012/01/open-hands.html

It was my joy to meet the Siestas in person, only wish I had met more (: Beth’s teaching was the MOST POWERFUL message I have heard her give. I’m pondering what ground that I need to take back. May all of you feel the Lord smiling down on you and saying “Well done good and faithful Servant.”We are grateful for a weekend that I will never forget XOXOXO

This weekend really was a big deal for me! It’s the first time I took a trip like that on my own since I’ve had 3 back surgeries and a significant, difficult life adjustment. It was HUGE for me and many were home worrying and praying for me. But I did it, and I’m so glad I did! I had so much fun and left beyond encouraged in my walk with the Lord.

I SOOOOOO enjoyed the weekend. It was wonderful to worship with so many “eklecte kuria’s”. I am looking forward to 2013 but in the mean time I will work on memorizing the book of James. Can you quess what study I am doing? I have also already memorized scripture for “Better”. Looking forward to doing the study that was given out for reciting all 24 scriptures. Thanks Beth, and team for all the hard work to host the weekend and all the goodies.

This post made me all teary eyed! It was such a fantastic weekend! Thank you for all of your hard work!

I plan to do a recap post but just haven’t had the time yet. I am also super jealous to read of the siestas who went to Ikea. Next time I won’t book my flight to leave so soon after the conference!

Just wanted to say thanks to all for the wonderful weekend. I have never felt more loved than when I walked into that building Friday night. Walking in Friday night, I recognized several from the blog and 2010. Some said they remembered me. It was so much fun.
LPM has meant so much to me over the past 4 years. I had never done a Beth Moore Bible study nor had I ever heard her speak. I signed up for BELIEVING GOD Bible study (I so loved the BIG 5)! May I just tell you my life, thank God, will never be the same. I was so burned out and ready to walk away from my faith. Instead I ran straight to a God who loves me and forgives me for all my short comings
I have just started my 4th Scripture Memory album. Never would I have guessed that memorizing scriptures would be such a powerful tool.
    Love you guys to pieces!!

Thank you so much ladies for your efficient, sweet, manner of serving us! You “guys” are top notch! What glory it must bring to the Lord. It inspires me and I’m sure many many others to carry out vocations in such a way that will stand above the majority so God may be glorified. I know it requires diligence, energy, sacrifice and hard work. When that is done accompanied by a sweet spirit and a soul that is at rest when the body is not (grin), that is super-natural! I’ve never been able to attend a celebration yet, but I’m asking God for possibly the next one…it would be a dream come true to meet my Siesta family face to face. I’m thankful that I have a heavenly Father that says “yes” to some of my dreams 🙂 I now have four spirals of memorized scripture that represent a miraculous life change and victory. And saying this with great humility…I’ve taken the challenge to memorize the book of James not just for more wrinkles in my brain but to continue the WALK of knowing my Lord and the abundant life, to continue the remaking of a life that continually needs a tune-up and to keep the healthy wholeness of one who draws strength from giving her weak, sin-prone self over to Truth. I am so grateful. Standing in hope that I will see you all in two years, til then meet you on the blog.

    My dear sweet Seista’s,
I was not able to make it, but what a joy this post was to read.
The pictures of the Scripture sharing just brought such joy to my heart.
This past year of SSMT has been amazing and life changing for me.
I am one who memorized all 24 and have kept going. I have two down this year and looking forward to adding a full 24 to my memory by the end off this year. It is SO exciting to me. I just can’t wait to see all that God will do through this in my life. I so want to be His hand extended. I love Him so!!

Thank you for your sweet hearts,
    Dawn

Thank you, Beth and the entire LPM staff. Thanks to Travis and his wonderful worship team. It was an amazing weekend. I felt as if I were among special friends. Beth’s teaching was so applicable. I appreciate your continued faithfulness to teaching God’s word and living real life out in front of us. A special thanks to Vangie for giving hugs at the line where we verified we had said all 24 of our verses. I felt like a child that had just pleased the teacher!! You are all precious! Thanks for being so gracious and showing love to us.

Hi Lindsee… Thank you for the SSMTC recap! It was so great to finally meet you this weekend!!

My mom and I had an amazing time at SSMTC! Beth’s message was phenomenal and the Lord really spoke! It was such a blessing to meet so many other siestas.

Thank you to Beth and the entire LPM staff for showing us a wonderful weekend that I will always hold dear to my heart. I am already looking forward to the next SSMTC! 🙂

Thank you for the post! I did not get to come due to finances never working out, but I appreciated the opportunity to watch remotely. I missed you all so much and wish I had someone to say my verses to that morning. I said them just to the Lord.

So many things blessed me from this weekend’s teaching. The things that stuck out immediately were to fight to take back the ground I had lost, to push back, and to not stop meditating on these verses until the WORD completed the purpose God declared for it in my life (Isaiah 54:10).

The next day (Sunday), I was taking notes during the teaching at church and realized that God was telling me the same thing again, though this time out of Hebrews – push back. Remember we are conquerers through the Spirit, so fight back! That night, I sat down to do a day out of the “Breaking Free” bible study that I’ve been doing with a group, and, wouldn’t you know it, God had Isaiah 54:10 show up again! I called my husband into the room and walked him through all the things God was showing me.

So thank you for allowing me to be a part even though I couldn’t be there physically. I pray that God gives me the chance to be there in person in the future.
    In Christ,
    ~Rachel, Surprise, AZ

Hey y’all!!!! This post made me tear up. Oh how I miss being there worshipping and praise Jehovah Jireh!! Lindsee, I’m the crazy girl that wanted to get a picture with you, but you were running a tad behind! I’ll have to catch you again. 🙂 This weekend was one I will never forget! My best friend and I reclaimed our ground, and it’s sitting on my mantle as I type. Travis and the team did an amazing job. Several times I would just close my eyes (something I do at least once at one of these events) and just take it all in. Many women (and a few brave men) coming together from all walks of life. It is so beautiful. Thank y’all again, and although we won’t be doing a SSMT..I am doing James where I’m attempting Level 5…memorizing the complete book of James!! I’m very nervous, and the devil is trying to talk me out of it, but I’m gonna push him back!!!! Again, I love y’all to pieces!!!!

Thank you Lindsee for the recap. This past weekend was AMAZING!! I’m still on a mountain top high and my heart is so full. I didn’t want it to come to an end Sat. and it just FLEW by! We met so many wonderful siestas and made friends with some that came alone. We instantly felt like we had known them all our lives. SO COOL! Even had one over to my house here in H-town. Pure JOY! I’m not going to lose my ground … “O, My Soul March ON”!! I’m excited to see what God has in store for me next. Getting a vision…

Can’t wait until 2013, so I’m continuing on with my scripture memory. Already working on Jan.and hoping to add others to the group and have our own celebration at the end of the year.
Oh and by the way, can you please post the vow we made to each other on Sat.? Would love to read it and go over it again.

Thanks again to the LPM staff and all the volunteers for everything! Everything was GREAT! To GOD be the GLORY~

Oh, for those of you who haven’t heard the CeCe Winans song “Wageing War”, you HAVE HAVE HAVE to hear it! It is spot on for our weekend!

        “I’m tired of principalities
        Messing with me
        (Waging war)
        I’m tired of the devil
        Stealing from me
        (Waging war)
I promise that he won’t get
        One more thing
        (Waging war)
        I’m taking it back
        I’m taking territory
        (Waging war)
        I’m ready for the battle
        I’m ready to win
        (Waging war)
        My weapon of power
        He lives within
        (Waging war)
        I can’t be defeated
        The enemy has gotta flee
        (waging war)
        I’m taking it back
        I’m taking territory”

Oh my soul, MARCH ON MARCH ON!

I wish you could all see MY WOW face. I can’t even begin to tell every single person who was there how much fun I had, how a group of sweet Siesta’s adopted me Friday and on Saturday afternoon invited me to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Ladies, it did take me 2 days to finish that yummy piece of cake. Dessert on Saturday night and some leftover for breakfast on Sunday. I changed my Gravatar picture to a ziplock bag of dirt, I scraped up at the IAH airport, before I turned in the rental car. So, a piece of TX came back to PA with me and it represents the ground I took back from the Father of Lies. Thank you, to every single one of you fantastic LPM staff members and worship team, y’all ROCK! To Siesta Mama, thank you for talking about Third Day’s version of the song ‘Creed’, I was so excited because I LOVE THIRD DAY!! You need to get their newest album titled ‘Move’ and listen to the song ‘Born Again’ it is absolutely precious. Big shout out to my Siesta Georgeanne, thank you for listening to all my verses, you greatly encouraged me XO. Can’t wait to get a hold of my new spiral, so I can continue my UPWARD spiral, Amen. 🙂

I was at the SSMTC last weekend – my first Texas experience! Beth’s final point for us hit me hard: “Go out into the world WALKING in what you know.”

I was accepted to The World Race in December and will be leaving this coming September for 11 months in the world walking in what I KNOW. I KNOW that I’m called to carry the name of Jesus in my life and this trip is a HUGE step out in faith. I’ve let the enemy discourage me and try to tell me I’m not made for it or up for it or in any way capable of doing it.

But in my God I am an ekleckte kuria and I KNOW He has called me!

What I desperately need is prayer from my darling Siestas. You all mean the world to me and it would bless me so much to have you all praying!
If you want to keep up with me, here’s my blog: http://bethbarron.theworldrace.org

I am so grateful my friend Kristin and I were able to come this past weekend. I have my ziplock of “ground” that I’m hanging onto next to my bed as I type this! (it was taken from the dirt near the swan pond at the Omni! Kristin says I’m carrying swan poop around!). I’m going to walk with Jesus remembering “Watch yourselves, so that you [I] may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward.” 2 John 8. This weekend totally refreshed me. I returned to full swing as a rural pediatrician in RSV season, but I’m full. Thank you Lord Jesus! I can’t wait to start up SSMT 2013! In the meantime, I’m going to attempt to memorize James (am in week 4 of the study). Thank you Siestas! I miss your smiling faces already! Thank you Evangeline for your seeet encouragement! Thank you Beth for being beautifully vivacious in Jesus! Love you all!

Thank you Beth Moore, LPM Staff and Travis Cottrell worship team!!! This was my first time coming to the SSMTC and I had an amazing time! Memorizing all twenty-four scriptures was no easy task but I accomplished my goal. I am the Preschool Minister and now Director of Women’s Ministry as well at my church and I rarely get to fellowship with my church family, enjoy worship or hear my amazing pastor due to my job. So to be able to sit back and enjoy the fellowship, worship and teaching was just what my soul needed!!! THANK YOU!!!

lindsee, you girls are such wonderful hostesses! thank you for making us feel so welcomed & loved. between the word from beth & the Spirit’s freedom as we worshiped with travis & the precious new friends i met from little rock (hey nancy, heather & macy!!!), God really just outdid Himself. (He keeps doing that.)
so if Jesus doesn’t come back first, count me in for SSMTC 2014. & just a warning – i’m bringing more arkansas friends. 🙂
