Tacoma Living Proof Live Ticket Giveaway!

Hey, Sweet Things!

Right this very minute, I am sitting in my dear hair stylist’s chair getting some fresh color. (Oh, I do dearly love fresh color.) That’s what I do for special occasions (and half inch-long roots) and going to Tacoma for our first Living Proof Live of 2011 is a SPECIAL OCCASION. We are excited, nervous, and anxious (and very busy preparing) to see Christ revealed in the Tacoma Dome tomorrow night and Saturday. Please all of you pray for us. I am hopping on a plane this afternoon so that I can get a tiny jump on the time change. Michelle will join me tomorrow.

Because of our wonderful Siesta Scholarship Fund, we have the great joy of offering comp tickets to the event to the first 20 Siestas who call our Living Proof office today during business hours. (Remember Central Standard Time! We are two hours later than you in the West! If you happen to call during the lunch hour, leave a voice mail and they will call you back.) If you would like to come to the Tacoma Dome this weekend for our Living Proof Live but can’t afford a ticket, call toll free 1-888-700-1999 and ask for Kimberly or Susan. And tell them I told you how much I love them and appreciate them when you call.

You guys are my favorite bloggers in all the world. Your mama loves you like nobody’s business.

STAY IN THE WORD!

Hope you are enjoying your fresh color! Your post made me think of something that happened last night.

I was on the way to meet a friend for dinner and one of my very long white hairs fell out. I love the white ones as I consider them free highlights. For a second when I noticed it, it made me a bit sad as I treasure my highlights. Then I smiled and remembered that Jesus knows the very number of hairs on my head at all times.

He notices all the little details about me because I am important to Him. In fact He knows more details about me than I know about myself. Then I pondered for a moment what it would mean if I could really grasp the full nature of the relationship He has with me and His involvement in my life of what that would do for my little world.

I long for the day to see Him face to face. Even though I am blind to much of His working and His involvement in my life and around me, He is NOT blind and not a detail of my life escapes Him. Even when I am not paying attention, He has been, He is and will continue to be.

Praying for you dear Siestas as you gather in Tacoma to worship our God and to hear His Word. May each of you get a glimpse of how important you are to Jesus– taste of how concerned He is about every detail of your life–a vision of just how intimately involved He is in your life.

The good news I can pray!

May everything that is said and done bring others
    closer to you.

    Michele Jeffers says:

    Hey Beth,
I am so excited to be joining you tomorrow. I actually was blessed to attend your conference in Spokane, WA last year.
I am a military wife. My husband just finished his 4th tour of duty in Iraq about 6 months ago and I am so proud of his service and honored to be his wife. God has also allowed me the privelege of raising 3 pretty amazing children. My little Hailey is 4, Ben is almost 2 and I have a sweet 12 year old named Colin who has severe developmental delays, seizures, and behavioral issues.
In Spokane, at one point, you told us to “pay the price” and that just immediately brought tears to my eyes. I have been paying the price for a while now…. and I think in all the sacrificing and busyness in the months before my husband came home I forgot why. THANK YOU for reminding me how worthy, how beautiful my Jesus is.
I have been falling deeper in love with him as I cling to him each time my circumstances give me pause. I CAN’T WAIT to hear what you have for us (no pressure). Thank you for being available and willing! Michele Jeffers

Michele please thank your husband for serving our country and fighting for our freedoms and the values God holds so dear. Thank you Michele for your personal sacrifice as a single mom and to your children as well for their unselfishness as you spent time without “your man” at home. May God bless your family as you have blessed all of us.

    Hi Beth,
I love your books and love this ministry. I have a friend however who loves your books and ministry more. I do not know where i can send you something that you will actually receive so i am trying through here. She is amazing. The glory of God is written all over her. She is an inspiration and a true and genuine friend. She is also going to struggle with a life long painful disease. She uses your morning devotional every morning to kick start her day (along with a Bible devotion). I was wondering as her birthday is approaching if you could write her a letter or i could send you a copy of one of your books and you could sign it or something for her. It would mean the world to her. Thank you either way. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Natalie Hare says:

Good Morning~ I wouldn’t normally do this but there is a song I feel so many suffering people should hear and be completely encouraged by. It’s by Rascal Flatts. (who themselves are christians so I do believe it’s very inspirational.) I have been in a long battle and hearing it for the first time today has really encouraged me. For people who know the Lord, it is a song we should hear and let Jesus sing over us. Please listen and see for yourself!!! I just feel there are so many people who need that encouragement to keep going. It’s so easy to give up, but with God there is always victory no matter how long the battle has been going on. I have posted the youtube lyrics version on my blog which anyone is welcome to. Again, this is something I would never do but I want everyone to be encouraged the way I have by this song!!! It’s called…”I Will Stand By You.” In Christ Alone!!!!

He removes the bad part as we die to ourselves and then through His blood we are washed white as snow!! i can’t believe i just compared getting my hair done to the work that Jesus has done for us. i. am. undone!! but it serves as a reminder of the work that He has done and is doing in our lives!!

    Nancy Waits says:

    Beth,
I had a death in the family and I am about 6 weeks behind in Siestaville, but I am catching up.

I will post my catch up verses on the 15th of March. I can’t wait!

I have been rereading some of your books. I just want to say thank you for helping me to see hope shining through in the middle of life’s pain.

My sweet daughter is refusing to talk to me for reasons known only to her and God. Its been seven months since this began. She is 24 years old and she is my only child.

I haven’t figured out how to be whole without her, but trying very hard.

Being a siesta has helped my hurting heart.

If you or any of my siesta sisters have a word for me, my heart is open.

    Loving all of you,
    Nancy

I wish I could go to beautiful Tacoma, but I am a Texas girl like you.

Dear Nancy, my heart aches for you and your daughter. My teenage daughter has gone through seasons like that in the last year, but not for that long. I can only say keep loving her and keep praying for her, for God to soften her heart and help tear those walls down. I will join you in prayer, as I had other sisters in Christ pray for me during those times.

      Dear Nancy,

You and your daughter are in my prayers. The only word that comes to my heart to share with you is from 1 Peter 5:7 NIV, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

Sometimes it is hard for us to cast all our anxeties (cares) on God because we tend to take them back. But continue to cast all of your anxiety on God Nancy because He truly cares for you.

      Be Blessed,

Nancy I love you and am right here for you in prayer and in the state of Texas. So is Nancy “Waits” your last name or your blog name? Good Word for you either way there are lots of “wait” scriptures in the Word, one that came to mind for you is; Psalm 27:14
Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. KJV Good one for me too so thank you for giving me a reason to search the Word and find comfort.

Ms. Beth, I just want to say thank you for writing So Long Insecurity just for ME! Oh, how I’ve been slapped around by insecurity far too long. It has reared its ugly head in the last two years because of a dramatic event and God has used your words and mostly his Psalms to help me walk out my salvation with fear and trembling in this area. Today I spoke with a team of women over at The Met’s MOPS group on things that steal our joy and how God has brought us through. Of course, insecurity was my topic. God’s faithfulness was my testimony in this. One thing you said in the book resonated with me and others which was “Be careful not to give too much credence to the old adage that time heals. Mark my word. It’s God that heals. Time only tells. The passage of days, weeks, and years can easily amplify an old voice.” And the last two years have proved that. But the verse in Prov. 31:25 is a tool that is helping me out of that pattern, including God’s healing. I look forward to viewing the simulcasts on Secure. But I have a husband that has turned into your former bookkeeper (with good reason), so I will wait until April’s paycheck. Can’t wait. Thank you again for being so vulnerable and obedient in this book. It has in turn equipped me to do the same, as well as the women I spoke to today. Be blessed, be protected in HIm. Ellen

Beth, I am so excited to see you tonight in Tacoma, my town! I’ve been to LPM events in Portland, OR and Redmond, WA, so I of course was delighted to be just minutes away this time around. I hope your flight went well yesterday, and that you are rested today! May God bless and prepare you and the rest of the LPM team for tonight and tomorrow.

  32. 82

Tacoma is too far for me, but LOVED attending the simulcast at my own church last fall. It was my first real exposure to your ministry. I am a writer and scholar of the word myself, and had been told that I am like you in the kind of writing that I like to do (but a few years behind – I am still in the thro’s of early childhood and do not have the time to devote to that kind of study and research yet.)
One day I was riding in a friend’s car and she had one of your books. I picked it up and started browsing and saw that you said whenever you have thoughts and feelings wrirring around in your head, the first thing that you want to do is start typing. “Yep.” I said. “She’s just like me!”
I love writing about what God is teaching me in my small everyday life. He shows up in big and small ways to show how much he loves me! I feel that pointing those things out as an act of God rather than a coincidence is a wonderful way to change our perspective on life. What a difference it makes to know that He is working in my life and not leaving me to fumble around on my own!
Anyway, that is the kind of writing that I am doing right now in the form of a blog, but I look forward to the day when I will be able to organize some real ideas that I have and really search out the word of God on those topics.

    Susie says:

Looking forward to being at the Tacoma Dome tonight and tomorrow with you! Am coming with a couple of ladies from my church and we are so very excited. We did your study on the Patriarchs in Genesis in the fall of 2009 and loved it.

I was preaching through a series on Genesis at the time, and so many times I’d preach a text on Sunday and then on Tuesday we’d watch your video on the same story. What kept hitting me again and again was the wideness and richness of God’s word. I would spend days in study and reflection on a passage and have my whole world rocked by new truths (stories I thought I knew so well!). Then preach and have people engage with these stories and love them anew. And THEN two days later spend an hour listening to you rock my world again with the same story with new insights and revelations. God is so big and so good, and though I’ve never met you, Beth, I felt a deep kinship with you during that season of wandering the paths with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Blessings to you and your wonderful work,

    Hi Beth,

This is Gigi, I’m a law student, and the President of Christian Legal Society, yesterday we had a meeting and I was so nervous to be leading the Bible study, as you can imagine, speaking to a ton of lawyers-to-be can be pretty scary, but then one student shared something his Christian wrestling coach taught him long ago, he told him before one very scary match that wonderful quote: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:40. My friend lost to the opponent that day, but He won something greater. I just attended your Friday night session at the Tacoma Dome. Your topic of road signs is very interesting. I had a vision a few years back of a “construction zone” sign. I didn’t understand it at first, then God showed me an area of my life that had needed healing for a long time. He showed me how it was a “no trespassing” sign before that time, that He was healing me in this particular area and has done so. Our church has done several of your studies, and I really enjoy them and learn a lot. Thank you for all you do.

We just walked in the door after attending LPL in Tacoma and we are so excited to “Take home a word” (you crack us up!). We are five moms with a collection of 13 kids among us who have been in the same Bible study together for many years. We are so excited to have a kid-free slumber-party tonight! At our last Bible study we decided it would be funny to revert to our younger days and dare each other to do random, silly things. Who knows what fun dares are in store for us tomorrow!:)

Thank you for being an integral part of our growth as wives and mothers. God is so very evident in you! We adore you!

    Jaclyn says:

Beth — THANK YOU, I “Tacoma” word this evening.

God’s message is right on time. I’m a new mom, in recovery for all manner of addictive behavior. I’ve been the lord of my own life for so long, fueled by fear and insecurity, striving to protect and provide for myself, not trusting God to meet any of my needs. I went back to work when I had been challenged not to go unless God gave me the go ahead…well as the president of the ‘Financial Insecurity Club’ –in the middle of a down economy, God as given me the STOP sign. In fact He flat told me STOP before something worse. (dead serious, can you believe that?!) He simply will not tolerate my disobedience any longer.

I’m on my last week of work as of this Monday and have been second-guessing myself and DOUBTING God and His word to me. Every worldly sign looks like –turn around! Even tonight on the way to the event I was suffering, and nursing a TANTRUM in my head of why me and feeling forsaken. Busy comparing my life with others, looking at what i don’t have…Detour ahead!! Thank you Jesus.

End of the day, this is all confirmation for me. I so appreciate your prayer and preparation for this word. Thank you for being willing to do His will. I am so thankful for your example and inspired by your life’s work. I can’t wait for tomorrow.

ps–i’m in your David study at FBCL and am LOVING it!

    THANKS AGAIN AND AGAIN.
