Good Morning, Siestas, and Lexington 20-Ticket Giveaway!

Good morning, All! I pray that all of you are prospering in the promised presence of Christ this day. He is so faithful to us, isn’t He? I am packing my suitcase and will board a plane to Lexington, Kentucky today for our Living Proof Live tomorrow and Saturday. The flight in on Friday was too late to risk a delay so I’m going early to shut myself in a hotel room and study. In 28 years of speaking at conferences and women’s retreats, God has never let me miss one due to a travel disaster. Would you believe I’ve only missed one over illness? And had I not been in emergency surgery, I am just crazy enough to have shown up anyway. I recall asking the doctor before he put me under if they could just give me enough pain medication to make it through the event and then I’d come right back to the emergency room when it was over. He just said, “Start counting backwards from ten to one.” I bet it would have been a particularly funny women’s retreat but, of course, we’ll never know.Β  There have been times when the plane was so delayed that I walked straight onto the platform and other times my bags didn’t make it but God has always purposed to get our team there on time. Sometimes barely but in those times He seemed even more faithful to supply His Word and His peace. I love Him so much. I marvel over a God whose strength is only made more perfect through our weakness.

Jesus is enough for you and me again today, Sisters. He is our Portion. Let’s leave tomorrow to Him. Give us this day our daily bread, Lord.

I cannot wait to see the group God is putting together in Lexington, Kentucky. Trav, the team and I have had a blast in Christ every time He’s sent us to Kentucky. I can still tell you every topic we’ve studied with people in that great State and can see the insides of each auditorium in my mind like the events happened yesterday. It is all and only Jesus. In my quiet time this morning, He reminded me out of John 6:63 that “the flesh counts for NOTHING. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.”

Oh, Jesus, come to each of us today in this blog community with the power of Your effectual Word and breathe spirit and life into our souls. We need you so much. You are our Everything.

NOW, if any of you would like to come to the Lexington Living Proof Live tomorrow and Saturday but simply cannot afford a ticket, that’s what our Siesta Scholarship Fund is ALL ABOUT! 20 comp tickets are just begging to be claimed. Please call the Living Proof Ministries office toll free at 888-700-1999 and ask to speak to Susan or Kimberly and they’ll get you fixed up! We would be delighted to serve you.

Lord have mercy, I’ve got to pack! I’ll talk to you wonderful things after the weekend. I think Melissa’s going to hop on here and say hi before then. Stay in the Word! Christ will make it spirit and life to you!

      Hey Beth,
We are a group of Bethmoorebiblestudyaphites from Cincinnati who met under the “Esther” study at our church (the Vineyard), then grew in numbers and wisdom with the “Fruits” and “Breaking Free” studies. Over the past 2 years, we grew to be 18 ladies strong in just our one small group. This summer we started a small group of the small group (following this?) as we wanted to continue studying past the September-to-June schedule and stay in the Word. And so we are temporarily a group of 7 summer studiers who recently completed your book (So Long, Insecurity) and are now just starting the Ruth study using your videos and blog. We’re a little (a lot!!!) behind the other Siestas, but can we still carry the title??? Should we be called the Slow Siestas?, Back Half of the Summer Siestas? Siestas The Squequel? Fiesta Siestas (celebrating the kids going back to school)? Sad Siestas (refer back to Fiesta Siestas), Better Late Than Never Siestas? …

We will see you tomorrow in Lexington. Two of us Summer Studiers will be road-trippin’ it from Cincy. I’m already praying for you…safe travels and revelation of His will. It will be a beautiful weekend!

Clothed in His strength and dignity!…

Jesus spoke to me to be on a “listening prayer team” for a retreat coming up in August…I was nervous, but Jesus spoke sweetly to me that His power would be made perfect in my weakness. When He speaks to me, He often does so by repeating things over and over…when I read those same words that you typed my heart swelled with gratitude and love that the God of the universe would speak to me, and through one of my favorite women on this planet πŸ™‚ I love you Beth!

Hi Beth – we are so looking forward to this weekend. Six of us will be traveling from Charleston, WV & I am the only one who has seen you live before so I am so excited to see my sisters get in the word w/ you live!!! Please pray for our sister Debbie – she was supposed to come but developed a horrible flesh eating bacteria & cannot make the trip. She’s insisting that we still go but we will miss her so. Have a safe trip to KY & we can’t wait to her God’s message through you!!!

      Erin says:

Dear Lord our great healer, we bring Debbie to you today. She was planning on getting some spiritual renewal this week end but she now really needs a touch to the physical. Lord some of these “new” bugs that we are getting can be a little scary. Lord if Debbie is fearful too I pray that she holds on to your power to be set free from fear as she leans on you God. What a sweet spirit you have put within Debbie that she is encouraging her friends to go on and be feed spiritually by the study of your Word. Thank you Lord for girlfriends. In Jesus name.

    Hi Beth,
I can’t wait to hear what the Lord has given you to say to us this weekend. The women in our group are so excited, especially Gladys. She is nearly 80 years old and always says she hopes to live long enough to do one more of your bible studies. When she found out you were coming to Lexington, she said ,”you girls pray I live until August so I can see Beth in person!” . She has a lot of pain due to arthritis and such, but she went for a Cortisone shot today so she will be able to tolerate it this weekend.
Thank you for being obedient and allowing God to use you to draw us closer to Him.
    Blessings,
    Stephanie

Howdy, all! Beth, so excited you’re headed to Kentucky! My dear dad has been there for a couple weeks doing some missionary training – maybe you’ll run into him at the airport!! He’s the tall, dignified, kindest man you’ll walk by – that’s how you’ll know him! (smile). We’ve had a sad week here in Alaska with the passing of our 86 year old former US Senator, Ted Stevens. He was killed with five others in a small aircraft accident on Monday. I used to work for him on and off in the 1980’s on Capitol Hill. He and his wife were such dears to me. I’d spend weekends with them and help watch their young daughter, Lily (the young lady my 10 year old is named after). Anyway — it’s been a sad week for us. One thing I loved about “Senator Ted” was his approachability and kindness – even though he was one of our nation’s most powerful men. Thanks for letting me share for a second. Hope everyone in Kentucky has the biggest blast with Jesus, each other and Beth!

    Karen Hokanson says:

Thank you, Beth, for your Word today. I so need to hear “Give me this day my daily bread.” You also spoke this in Irvine, and I was there. I will spare you the details, but life in the past few years has been really hard on my family. Satan has been leading me down the “what will happen in 5 years” path. I need to be reminded that Jesus has seen us through all of our trials, and will continue to do so. Day by day.

    Dear Beth,

Finely!!! My heart is so happy and excited to see you!! I live 30 minutes south to Lexington and you know I’ll be there. I bought the tickets for my daughter and myself about 6 months ago before our “trouble”. Only because God care so much…we now able to have a hope for better tomorrow. We started A Woman’s Heart updated edition on 6/25 and still going strong. We have been doing our daily homework and weekly video and discussion faithfully. It changing me and changing her. Thank you so much for the study. Yes Beth, I do love Him and He is everything to me too. I desire nothing…nothing…but Him.

    Dearest Beth,
AMEN to what you wrote: “Jesus is enough. . .He is our Portion. Let’s leave tomorrow to Him. Give us this day our daily bread, Lord.”

Oh, I SO needed that encouragement — “to leave tomorrow to Him.” I have been in the LORD’s “waiting room” for a couple of months since graduating with a Masters. I just pray that Jesus will truly be enough for me. This is truly the hardest thing ever. . .taking God for His word when He “seems” silent.

I pray for the presence of the LORD to be known so strongly in Lexington. God bless y’all!!!!

Praying for this event Dear Beth. God is sooo good all the time. My first grandson was born Tuesday afternoon and I can tell you I never thought I would be sucked into this granny Janny thing. I just can’t get enough of him. If I could take him home with me, I would. He is just so precious. I think God’s goodness is seen so easily in a little infant. Nothing more pure! Lord God, be with each attendee this weekend. Open their eyes even now and prepare their hearts for renewal. Clear their minds of all else but you. You alone deserve our worship.
    Love you guys so much!

O, Beth, how I needed that word tonight! Yes, our God IS faithful! This has been one of those crisis days of crying out to Him with face to the floor! I know that He will work all this out for good and that we will all resemble our Jesus more when it’s all better. He has reminded me how important it is to lift my grandchildren up to Him daily asking His protection from the enemy, cause his mark is all over this world we live in – and his time is short. He does not win the victory, but he sure as heck tries to. That’s all the more reason to fight the good fight.
All praise and honor and glory to our God Who is our strength in weakness!
Love and blessings to you and all the Lexington women (men, too).

      Hi Melinda,

I hope you had a great time this weekend, and that God encouraged you in a mighty way. Sometimes it does seem like He doesn’t care, doesn’t it. The great thing about our God is – who He is doesn’t depend on how we feel! He IS the same, yesterday, today, & forever, although our feelings can go all over the place within moments! When I feel like He’s absent, I have to tell Him, “God, I choose to believe you know what’s going on with me, but it sure doesn’t feel like it.” He can take it! I hope things get better for you.

    Pamela says:

Thank you Beth for your encouraging words tonight. “Jesus is enough for you and me again today, Sisters. He is our Portion. Let’s leave tomorrow to Him. Give us this day our daily bread, Lord.” As I’ve walked the road this week of taking my dear 87 year old to a dr., to ask the questions regarding “is there something going on more than just getting older,” I have continually claimed Isaih 41:13 “For I am the Lord your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, ‘do not fear, I will help you.’ ” I have also reminded myself “one step at a time. God will continue to pave the way.” Your reminders of truth warm my heart tonight, and again remind me to take one day at a time, and that Jesus is enough for me. He will take care of me and Grandma too helping the best decisions to be made on her behalf. Many blessings to you! I will be praying for you, your team, and everyone in Kentucky. I am sure God has something special in store for each one of you.

Beth, we are so looking forward to your arrival and the conference. I’ve been having a rough time lately and this conference has come at just the right time. I’ll be there with some great friend and my mom too.

I know where to get a great cup of coffee on Friday morning. It isn’t a chain place which I think makes it a bit better. The people are great too. The place is called Third Street Stuff. It is at the corner of Limestone and 3rd street. That is about 4 blocks from Rupp Arena. Of course, you have to walk past the Starbucks to get there.

Looking forward to the words that you have for me tonight.

His Word is absolutely both spirit and life to me! My heart is full of His grace and love as He prepares me for my first missions trip (to AFRICA!). My heart is heavy as my little sister has been given less than 6 months to live because of cancer. We had so hoped she would live to be able to see you Beth, at SLC LPL next year. But God is the great physician and her time of passing into His caring arms has been ordained since before she was even conceived. We are sad, but not bitter. It is ever more reason to remain in Him. His strength TRULY is made perfect in our weakness.

    Beth,
In my ladies Bible study last night was watching the second session of Believing God. Toward the end of the session the disk began skipping and then slowing (it added quite a bit of humor). But we were praising the Lord that over the course of the many years since it was released and bought by our church, so many different groups of women had watched it we had begun to ware the thing out! What a blessing!!!
I am believing God for you to have a POWERFUL conference from the overflow of your faith!!!!

  41. 91
    Angie says:

    Beth,
You’re words were exactly what I needed today. In the midst of you being funny and prclaiming the faithfulness of the Lord, you were a balm to me.

On Wednesday our family found out that one of our cars had been totaled (the previous week my husband was involved in an accident with a 1 week old driver), we received a letter letting my husband know that he would be terminated in 90 days because of the gov contract he is working on is ending, and my 20 year old had a car accident where he head shattered the windshield when she accidently hit a parked car. After the ER and Dr visits the next day, she is sore but fine. All in ONE DAY.

Sometimes the circumstances in testing seem ludicrous. BUT, I have had such spiritual victory this month and saw the Father move in such mighty ways, I will not be shaken. I’m thankful that cars can get fixed or replaced and that my daughter is well, but when the heart says, “What else can happen?” I remember “What time I am afraid I will TRUST in HIM!!”

I don’t come to the LPM blog that often, but did on Thursday morning and found you proclaiming Him faithful. I needed that! I needed to remember He is there when we are weak.

Thank you for sharing those words with us!

Last weekend we moved from one town to another. After 8 months of my husband working out of town we’re now living together again! PTL

Two days ago while unpacking boxes of books I came across my booklet from my first LPL event I attended… Lexington, KY 2004! I put it in my suitcase and am bringing it with me.
