Good Morning, Siestas, and Lexington 20-Ticket Giveaway!

Good morning, All! I pray that all of you are prospering in the promised presence of Christ this day. He is so faithful to us, isn’t He? I am packing my suitcase and will board a plane to Lexington, Kentucky today for our Living Proof Live tomorrow and Saturday. The flight in on Friday was too late to risk a delay so I’m going early to shut myself in a hotel room and study. In 28 years of speaking at conferences and women’s retreats, God has never let me miss one due to a travel disaster. Would you believe I’ve only missed one over illness? And had I not been in emergency surgery, I am just crazy enough to have shown up anyway. I recall asking the doctor before he put me under if they could just give me enough pain medication to make it through the event and then I’d come right back to the emergency room when it was over. He just said, “Start counting backwards from ten to one.” I bet it would have been a particularly funny women’s retreat but, of course, we’ll never know.Β  There have been times when the plane was so delayed that I walked straight onto the platform and other times my bags didn’t make it but God has always purposed to get our team there on time. Sometimes barely but in those times He seemed even more faithful to supply His Word and His peace. I love Him so much. I marvel over a God whose strength is only made more perfect through our weakness.

Jesus is enough for you and me again today, Sisters. He is our Portion. Let’s leave tomorrow to Him. Give us this day our daily bread, Lord.

I cannot wait to see the group God is putting together in Lexington, Kentucky. Trav, the team and I have had a blast in Christ every time He’s sent us to Kentucky. I can still tell you every topic we’ve studied with people in that great State and can see the insides of each auditorium in my mind like the events happened yesterday. It is all and only Jesus. In my quiet time this morning, He reminded me out of John 6:63 that “the flesh counts for NOTHING. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.”

Oh, Jesus, come to each of us today in this blog community with the power of Your effectual Word and breathe spirit and life into our souls. We need you so much. You are our Everything.

NOW, if any of you would like to come to the Lexington Living Proof Live tomorrow and Saturday but simply cannot afford a ticket, that’s what our Siesta Scholarship Fund is ALL ABOUT! 20 comp tickets are just begging to be claimed. Please call the Living Proof Ministries office toll free at 888-700-1999 and ask to speak to Susan or Kimberly and they’ll get you fixed up! We would be delighted to serve you.

Lord have mercy, I’ve got to pack! I’ll talk to you wonderful things after the weekend. I think Melissa’s going to hop on here and say hi before then. Stay in the Word! Christ will make it spirit and life to you!

    Good morning Beth-
Oh how I long to be in Kentucky tomorrow with you! I live about an 1 1/2 from there but have to work Friday and Saturday so I am unable to make it. I just wanted to thank you for being you. As I have struggled off/on, I got on line last night and was able to watch one of the Life Today segments-your topic was Finding Freedom From your Past. What an inspiration you are, a helping hand in times of need. It was such an encouragement for me to hear you say EVERY captive will be set free. I studied the scripture in Luke with you and can’t tell you what freedom I felt. Thank you Beth, from the bottom of my heart for touching lives, even when you don’t even realize it. It is amazing how God always knows what one may be in need of and always seems to put someone in the pathway of life to help you along. I praise Him this beautiful day and I am so thankful for ALL He has done for me. I pray that all of those attending in Kentucky will be blessed and able to feel the presence of our mighty God. Have a safe trip.

I so enjoy watching Beth on Life Today also. Why is it that her teaching always applies to me, no matter her subject, and always so timely. Praying God’s best for all.

        Tess–
Thanks for your reply–isn’t that the truth-her teaching always applies and always comes at a time when we need it most. I love to see how God uses her ALL the time.

Beth, we appreciate all you do in the Lord and we will keep you in prayer. We know God works all things for good to those who love the Lord for His honor and glory.

One of the greatest joys has to be serving God!

Those airplane rides do not feed you much, so be sure to carry some chocolate in your pocket.

God always gives me something extra to say at the last minute when I have to teach S.S., does He do you that way?
It is almost a exciting insight at the last minute.

I am going to pray God does something “EXTRA SPECIAL” for Him and HE will touch other ladies lives in Kentucky. Praying also, God will give you the strength you need. Beth, your are best Bible teacher! May God bless your ministry.
It is truly on my to-do-list to see you one day God-willing. I love your ministry so much and what God is doing through you and your staff. God bless you!

Will be praying for this time in Kentucky!

But I have a question for you Beth. I have been out of the loop (that is an understatement) for the last few years and am brand new to the lpm blog. You have mentioned your surgery/illness a few times. I am curious to know what happened…not that it is my business, but thought it may have been shared with the “Siestas” before I joing the blog. I have been praying for your continued healing, I know you have mentioned residual pain, etc.

Also, I know I am jumping the gun, but wanted you to know that I did the Breaking Free (revised) study this spring and it was life changing. I am just finishing Believing God, and will be doing Esther this fall. Also squeezed Kelly Minter’s Ruth in this summer!

Thank you for allowing God to use you! His word through you has truly been a blessing and catalyst for healing for me!!

    Melanie L. says:

Greetings, let me share a story about God’s faithfulness to me today, in the area of healing. He is so faithful. He took care of me. He heard my cry, and He helped me.

Yesterday morning, I started feeling unwell, and it got worse as the day went on. I left work early, tried to rest, and it got worse. And worse. I woke up in such pain, thinking I’d have to drive myself to the ER. I cried out to God, “You are the Great Healer. The Great Physician. I’m scared. Please help me. Please tell me what to do.” I called my doctor’s answering service to have him paged, to see what I should do. Not 15 minutes later, I realized the pain was gone. Completely gone. “Repairman Syndrome” (where you have a house problem, and when the guy shows up, the problem doesn’t show up), or God’s healing touch? I’ll score this one under “God’s healing touch”. I felt fine, and was AMAZED at how completely God took the pain away.

Good thing, too… The doctor never did call back!

I hope everyone has a good time at the event. God will be there, that’s for sure. He knows us, He sees us, He hears us. He is faithful.

Beth, I saw you in Lubys on Tuesday. I noticed you in line behind me and then watched you as I sat down to eat. What tickled me was to watch others as they noticed it was you. I was so touched by the several occassions that ladies spoke to you. I loved how your face lit up for them and the big hugs you gave…….even tho some were interrupting your meal. Thank you for being that genuine. I hope you know in some small way how loved you are. You reach us in a place for the Lord like no other. God bless you!!!!

That is so sweet! Years ago I saw Beth at Taste of Texas. I wanted to say hello but didn’t want to bother her. Then shortly after that I ran into her at Second Baptist Church in the parking lot. I just flat out could not resist and made my way over to her to say hello. Beth made me feel like I was the only one who mattered at that moment. She even kissed my hand.

Thank you for words aptly spoken. We have a lot of big details that need to fall in to place before we take several of our children to college next week. The cool thing about all this is that I personally am in a good place. Well besides the grieving over 3 children leaving home for college. But,I have been working hard to keep my focus on God and reminding myself that He is in control. Sometimes I do sort of lose focus but not for as long as I would have a couple of years ago. So this day I am praising God for the opportunity to grow and get to know Him better.

Thank you for the truthful reminder that Jesus is only made more perfect through our weakness. I don’t like being weak! I too had a hyst. and find that my energy levels just aren’t like they used to be. It’s been frustrating to relinquish activities I used to be able to do. Kristi Walker says:

I just have to tell you how this entry spoke to me! (and I love how it wasn’t in a post that you had to put in-depth study into…I love Him so much for speaking to me in everyday ways!)

I had prayed JUST before I sat down to check your blog and asked the Lord to PLEASE show me what I needed to do about a real estate contract that could get nasty (very). It’s such a convoluted one, and I so want both parties to be satisfied. I’ve, literally, been losing sleep and had an upset stomach I’ve been so stressed out about it. It never even crossed my mind that he may speak to me here about that specific prayer!

After praying, I felt His Spirit tell me to worry about TODAY, because He was enough and to stop all the fretting over something out of my control, but firmly in His control all the time. (and still my tummy didn’t settle)

And then look what you typed, in a separate section all on it’s own:

“Jesus is enough for you and me again today, Sisters. He is our Portion. Let’s leave tomorrow to Him. Give us this day our daily bread, Lord.”

LOL I love Him so much!!! Thank you, Father, for caring enough about me to answer me in the sweetest, most direct, ways. ….finally resting where I should have been all along!… He’s got my back!

Thanks, Beth! Love all you ladies at LPM, and me and mine will be praying for you this weekend!

    Dear Beth,
I have had my ticket for months and I cannot wait to see you tomorrow. I’ll be in a pink feather boa! i have just gotten off the phone with Kimberly . She was kind enough to give me a ticket for my 25 year old daughter, Brittany who just started training for a new job at STARBUCKS! Her location is in Victorian Square near Rupp Arena. Unfortunately when I called to give Brittany the news she will be unable to attend becuase she has to work. I called Kimberly back to let her know she could release the ticket to another woman in need and we have had two delightful conversations about the SSMT celebration in Houston and your birthday painting party. I am off from work the rest of today and tomorrow if you need anything! Expecting a HUGE BLESSING FROM GOD this weekend.

    Dear Beth,
    You wrote,
“Jesus is enough for you and me again today, Sisters. He is our Portion. Let’s leave tomorrow to Him.”
    and;
“Oh, Jesus, come to each of us today in this blog community with the power of Your effectual Word and breathe spirit and life into our souls. We need you so much. You are our Everything.”

Those were the words I needed to hear today. Praise God He is enough for my today… and that I can trust Him with my tomorrow!
I need His Spirit and life in my soul, right here and now, because this flesh of mine is succumbing to the lies of the enemy and sometimes (a lot through this day) I have been feeling that there is no hope…. i know… But God.
My mind knows, so why doesn’t my heart follow on this thing? It has eventually on other things, why not this one, or that one?

I am looking forward to doing the older version of Breaking Free. Our church can’t afford the revised copy (or the old one for that matter) so we are borrowing VHS tapes (I know, what are those?!) from another church. If I am the only one doing it, I am still doing it, I don’t care.

Thank you so much for your care and concern and God given desire to serve women. I don’t know if you will ever know the difference God has made in our lives through you.

May God bless you this weekend.
    Love,
    Heather

Just said a prayer for you, Sweet thing! Keep hanging on to God and your faith! The feelings come and go, you can’t trust them, but you can ALWAYS trust God;)Just recently, I was struggling to overcome something in my life and whenever I felt myself slipping into the old thought patterns, I would say,”NO!”, out loud. I envisioned that I was sying it straight to the devil himself! I would also recite my memory verses, that was another HUGE help to me. I will keep you in my prayers. Have a great weekend, Heather!
