Kelly – I loved the book and through the study I love you and feel like I know you.
I read the responses here and see the different places we are in our spiritual lives, in our trust in God, and in our fellowship with Him – and yet we were all touched and blessed from studying this great book. I saw where many said they had read the book of Ruth for years, and I have also read it many times. We thought we were so familiar with the story, yet you brought to us a new look at this familiar book in the Bible.
I won’t go into all the eye-openers I saw through your eyes. Just know that through it all I received a fresh awareness of God’s love for us, for His calling on my life, and His teachings through His Word. It all comes together perfectly. I love Him. And through Him I love you. Thank you very much for sharing your life with us.
Thank you Beth for this summer Siesta program!

Sweet Kelly,
Thank you so much for this incredible Bible study. I will never look at the book of Ruth the same again. It was made extra special because I did the study with my precious daughter in law. Ruth and Naomi’s story was so poignant and meaningful to us. Please know that the Holy Spirit used you, Kelly, to grow us spiritually and relationally. We love you.
Hi Kelly,
Thanks so much for the study. Seeing that me and my husband are thinking about starting a family then the idea of legacy is huge on my mind. I also loved the verse where it says that God enabled Ruth to conceive and am holding on to this practically in my life.
It also astounded me again how much Jesus did/does for us and how great His love is.
Also, Ruth sure is a great example of how to be a daughter-in-law! Challenging 🙂
Thanks so much,
Heledd
p.s Banoffee pie is my favourite dessert – I had it only yesterday!
Hi Kelly,
WOW!!! Can I just say THANK YOU!! I had never studied Ruth before so this was a fresh Word for me and it was a full course meal; rich and meaty every single day.
The study was awesome and as our AWESOME God would have it, perfect timing. Every time I sat down to do my homework, what you brought for the day ministered to me in so many ways, I can’t begin to list them here.
I love that God is about a love story; that He delights in our love story. I love that He comforts us during times of loss; that His God heart is tender toward us and I love that no matter how much I blow it, if I keep my eye on the prize, run the good race and stay obedient to the end, there will be a legacy left not only for my children but for the precious people He brings in and out of my life to love and serve; in spite of my shortcomings and weakness; legacy.
Thank you for being obedient and bringing this study to life for the rest of to share and glean from His Word. I love your friends and their insights…what a blessing.
I can’t wait for your next study…keep ’em coming, sister!

Hi Kelly,
Wow…what can I say except this Bible study on Ruth has blessed me beyond measure this summer. I have read and studied the Book of Ruth many many times, but so many truths just jumped off these pages to me this time around!! I really love the way you concentrated on that portion of Scripture about Boaz’ mother, Rahab….her kind heart and how she hid the spies and later her family was spared. This made me think about our nation today…we have no control over what happens to our nation that we live in but it brings me peace knowing God is in control and that we have a scarlet cord tied in our windows!!!
When my son and I visited Israel in 2007, we visited a little Jewish shop and I bought a beautiful colorful picture of Ruth that was actually formed by Hebrew letters which spells out the Book of Ruth…it is the coolest thing as it shows her bent over gleaning sheaves in the field. I wish I could take a picture of it and attach it to this post, but I don’t know how to do that. If there is a way, let me know and I’ll try and post it. Again, I thoroughly enjoyed studying Ruth with the Siestas this summer. God bless you, Beth and all the Siestas and Living Proof Ministries.
I realized this morning that I didn’t ever let you know, Kelly (I hope you see this!) about how blessed my group and I were as we met together this summer to do this study. I met with my mom, sister, 2 sister-in-laws, and my cousin (with about 15 kids running around). We all go to different churches and it was such a blessing to meet together to do this study. One even commented on how this was the first time she had ever done a study like this on a whole book of the Bible and how she wants to read the Bible more than ever now instead of just verses here and there. Yay!!! I feel like we’re closer than ever and am so grateful for all we each learned. Thank you Kelly! : )
Kelly,
Thank you SO MUCH! I loved your study! I did it on my own this summer, but I have told many girlfriends about it and I’m hoping we might do it as a small group later on down the road.
The thing that stuck out to me the most during this study was your thoughts on “Weeping Forward”. That is so powerful and a great reminder during trials.
Take care!
Love,
Jen H. (in CO)
I was slow beginning this study because my other summer study didn’t end in time for me to do this one when it started, but I am now in the last week and just wanted to say how gifted I believe Kelly is and how much I have enjoyed this study. Week 6, Day 1 has been my all time favorite. To see how the story began with a Naomi who saw much loss and ended with a blessed-beyond-belief Naomi was thrilling and so encouraging to me. I have yet to see my sons fulfill their legacy in Christ, but my hope has been increased after today’s lesson. Thank you, so much, Kelly for writing this study. May God richly bless you in your ministry. 🙂
Kelly,
I am sorry that this is so late. I had some technical difficulties over the summer. However, I followed along with the study and completed it all on time.
Thank you sooo much for putting in the time and effort to write this study! I love food and music and studying God’s Word, so I really enjoyed your study! 🙂 Thanks for recommending the songs. They really are playing a part in my understanding and learning of the lessons. 🙂
So, thanks again! 🙂
Hi Kelly, I am late, late, late getting finished, but I was derailed for a while. Got back into it, though, and finished the study last night. I was SO BLESSED to go through this study. I never knew that Rahab was Boaz’ mother. I know I’ve read the genealogy of Christ in Matthew before, but somehow that never clicked with me!! I wonder if Naomi and Rahab were friends. Perhaps Rahab was older than Naomi, but she couldn’t have been that much older, right? It’s not stated in Ruth, but PERHAPS Rahab was one of “the women” mentioned in Ruth!! How cool would that be? My drama-prone mind is playing with a scenario in which Rahab, the future mother-in-law, is doing a little matchmaking herself, from the Boaz side…..hhmmmm…..we’ll never know this side of Heaven, I guess, but it’s an interesting theory, I think. Anyway, loved the study & am pumped to do No Other Gods now. Thanks for sharing with us!
Dear Kelly, I finally finished the study!! I learned so much from your leading in this study!! This is the first one I have ever done – or for a very long time – that I had to jump around to so many scriptures and I have to admit that at first, I was a little preturbed by it! But by the end (this morning), I really have come to treasure looking up all those scriptures – it brings the whole picture together and gets me reading portions I might not have done otherwise – not in this context.
Your study opened my eyes to the steadfastness of Ruth – the legacy that her character actually is!! I have known the story for many years but never studied it in depth like this.
Thank you so much for allowing God to work thru you and guide us to see His glory and just how important it is to have faith in Him and be willing to do His bidding!
I have come away from this study with a “willingness to be willing” and a desire to have the kind of faith and trust that Ruth had!!!
with love, Barb
Kelly, I have not yet done the Ruth study but I have finished Nehemiah and am 3/4 of the way through No Other Gods. I have purchased Ruth and will begin that study just as quickly as I finish No Other Gods. I can’t begin to tell you how much I have enjoyed your studies. I don’t feel rushed as I do them first thing in the morning before I go to work because it is just enough time with God to know that I have been in his presence. You teach with such an open and honest and humble heart that I would like to give you a big hug every morning. Thank you for these studies. I am hopeful you are working on more….you are such a blessing…..I pray that God will send you the perfect man to share your life with. You are one special lady and he has a plan….I just know it…
