One of my son’s love languages is being sprayed with water. Sometimes I climb up in his fort and spray him with the hose while he runs around the back yard. He loves it so much. Today, after I filled his little love tank by drenching him thoroughly, we used the hose to make a water slide.
Annabeth was asleep during all the fun, but I couldn’t resist showing this. She looks so innocent, but it was only minutes before she threw The Tantrum of a Lifetime.
Have a great weekend, Siestas!
I don’t know that boys ever out grow the love of being sprayed with a hose. My youngest is now 17 and too big to play in the yard with a hose but a few years ago we discovered an alternative. The kitchen sprayer. The first time it happened the sprayer had been used and the faucet turned off and unbeknownst to anyone the sprayer stuck…so…later I turn on the faucet and receive a good dousing. After the initial shock, I called my son into the kitchen, making sure he is in target range and turned on the faucet and blast him good. Instead of turning it off as I had done he grabs the sprayer and sprays back. We both had a good laugh while we cleaned up the mess.
Hey Amanda,
The pictures are great! I love that you share them with us. It seems as they get older Jackson looks more like Curtis and Annabeth looks more like you. Cute as ever!!
My mother told me that I used to have those tantrums of throwing myself on the floor and screaming – she said she got on the floor and imitated me, I sat up & looked at her like she had lost her mind and she said I never threw another tantrum again. Worth a try? Grin..
One of my three children’s love languages definitely includes water play. His favorite is being thrown (gently) like super-man down the “slip and slide” in our backyard. He’s only four, so he doesn’t quite have the hang of running and sliding….he always wants to run and jump, which you cannot do on a slip and slide. My other son and daughter love to be thrown into the air, landing in the deep end of our pool. So often, on these summer days, I hear, “You’re the best Mommy ever,” which completely makes my oh-so-sore back and arms worth every toss!!
Love it! 🙂
You should call her Beth, Jr. (looks just like her)! What a sweetie!
Yes, I have many memories of Jackson spraying himself in the face with freezing cold hose water. I was always in awe of that because of Ella who couldn’t stand that. 🙂
Amanda- your kids are so darling! God has really blessed your family, it’s so very encouraging. 😀
These are so sweet !
