Jackson’s Love Language

One of my son’s love languages is being sprayed with water. Sometimes I climb up in his fort and spray him with the hose while he runs around the back yard. He loves it so much. Today, after I filled his little love tank by drenching him thoroughly, we used the hose to make a water slide.

Annabeth was asleep during all the fun, but I couldn’t resist showing this. She looks so innocent, but it was only minutes before she threw The Tantrum of a Lifetime.

Have a great weekend, Siestas!

that was one of my favorite things to do when i was little…we would stick our little blue plastic pool at the end of the slide so we’d land it a pool of freezing cold water at the bottom πŸ™‚ Thanks for sharing…youre children are beautiful πŸ™‚

Awww…I’m surprised you have any heart left at all. Because those little faces surely do send a heart to melting. So precious…

I like the one of Jackson..3rd from the bottom. Don’t usually see him NOT smiling. I bet that’s his “I’ve got a cool idea” look. The one he might use just before he gets in trouble.

Cute, little innocent Annabeth having a tantrum? That’s hard to believe. Why did she have a tantrum? I hope she’s quite finished now.

Jackson looks like he had a blast…no pun intended! Makes me want to do the same thing in this 99 degree weather.

Great pictures! I love it! What a great way to express it – his love language! I have one just like that – only a she!
She and her papa had a water fight last night – he was sprayed with the warm water from the hose warming in the sun, and she loved the cold water. I don’t get it but she loves it!!

That is so cute! It reminds me of my son when he was a little older than Jackson. He loved to jump on the trampoline with the water hose propped on the side where it would rain down on him as he played for hours. I don’t know how we ever paid the bill. I do know the snapshot in my mind is priceless.

Siesta Beth is right; AB does look like you.

How fun! That is a great idea to put the hose down the slide. Your kiddos are just too adorable! And from that picture you’d never guess Annabeth was about to throw a fit…but having two of my own, I know how fast they can flip that switch. πŸ™‚

Not Annabeth!!!! It’s amazing how quickly those moods can swing, right? I honestly believe God makes little ones so cute so that we can quickly get over those tantrums by beholding their adorableness(new word):) Do y’all have a slip-n-slide? I bet Jackson would love that. The water slide was way cool though.

Looks like an incredible way to spend the day in this heat! Jackson has really grown–seems like only yesterday we saw him in his little jeans and boots, barely walking! Did Mom get a little wet in all the fun??

Hard to believe that little angel could throw The Tantrum of a Lifetime !

What a happy boy! Good for you, momma! And AB throw a tantrum? Surely not!! πŸ™‚

This is so funny! I was just thinking today about what my sons love language will be….. He’s only 4 months old!!!! I think being sprayed with water is a perfect love language for a little boy!!!! πŸ™‚

    Cara says:

The bow in Annabeth’s hair reminds me of living in Texas when my girls were pre-schoolers. All the moms put bows in their little girls’ hair, many of them hand-made, and absolutely beautiful. I, on the other hand, was not from “those parts” and I could not get it right to save my life. I did try buying some, but it somehow didn’t come out like theirs! It seems to be a southern thing-perhaps training for the Texas “big hair”! I also tried feeding my girls cheese grits because the other moms said their kids loved them, my kids spit them out! There must be some kind of southern gene we were missing. Anyhow, I love Annabeth’s bow, it brings back wonderful memories of our days in Texas.

          Barb,
Thanks for the website! I have a new 3 mo. old granddaughter and my DIL loves bows! This will be fun-I’ve always struggled with bows!! The video makes it look fairly easy.

          • Barb says:

            Hi Bobbie,
Ya- after seeing Amanda’s comment, I “googled” “How to make hair bows” and found this site! I’m not good at making bows, but watching the video – I tried 2 with some extra ribbon I have – and they actually turned out kinda cute! Now I want to go get some more ribbon and try again – trying to practice for when I have grandchildren!! πŸ™‚ Good luck!

    Hi Amanda

Thanks for sharing your day! It reminds me of when my son was young and he, too, loved the hose and being sprayed. Actually, he is 13 now and still enjoys getting sprayed with the hose, although I now have to run when I’m the one doing the spraying.

Having a mom like you is a blessing to him…he’ll tell you that one day!

God Bless and keep having fun!

My heart is just smiling at this…one of those big, wide goofy smiles that make teenagers think you’re on something. I have officially gotten to the age (almost 37) where I have taken to saying, “I remember when…” and I remember when a swing set (that’s what we called it) and a hose could keep you occupied for hours. Seeing Jackson in a state of pure joy with a water hose just makes my heart smile. No wonder why Bibby has all but lost her mind over these precious babies.

    God Bless your sweet family!

That is so cool! Who would have thought by looking at that sweet little face that she was getting ready to explode??? That looks like so much fun! We have a water slide and out grandson’s favorite thing too do is place it going down a slight hill in the front yard! He could do that all day. He is 8 now but hasn’t outgrown it. He can do it as long as he wants too as far as I am concerned!!!

My little one is just a few months older than AB…and boy has she learned how to throw a fit! Right now, we are on vacation, and tonight she had the entire restaurant memorized by blowing kisses at every single table as we left! It was as if Miss America was walking down her stage…everyone was watching us as we left…Miss Ma’am basking in all of her attention! A few moments later…the tantrums started off and on until bedtime! I AM EXHAUSTED! Hang in there girlie…you aren’t alone! Love ya!

Your children are adorable. Little boys are so much fun! My boys are now 20, 19, and 18 years old but I still see the child in them from time to time. My youngest son works as a lifeguard and has as much water fun as the young ones that visit the pool!

My daughter is the mom of a 20 month old baby girl. Like Annabeth, she is oozing charm and cuteness one second and having a fit the next! I love it!

    Melissa Ford says:

ummm..she is ADORABLE!!! I can smell the sun-lotion on those tiny little shoulders and arms of hers…ADORABLE!! Those tantrums can really throw ya, can’t they?…my daughter likes to bang her head on the floor at least once and then cut her eyes to see who will rescue her from this evil woman that will not give her a cookie for lunch. Jackson is just a little stud. He must be going constantly!! I know you are too. Thank the Lord for weekends and dads who can share the load. You’re a great mom Amanda.
