National Day of Prayer

Siestas, today is the National Day of Prayer.  Let’s take time to focus our attention on praying for our nation. It thrills us that many of you are in other nations besides the U.S.A., and we welcome you to join in with prayers for your country.

If you’d like to, use the comment box to post a brief prayer. (That obviously doesn’t need to limit how much you actually pray, but it helps us as we moderate if the comments are not too long.) I’m going to let my words be few so that we can get to praying!

    Dear Father,
I pray for our nation, I pray against things that bring us down and keep us separated from standing together. Lord, I ask that you would SHINE over this nation, and bring healing where its needed, and wisdom over leaders, and future leaders.
I also pray for Nashville, and all that have been affected by natural disaster, just bring comfort and peace…and help them to have strength from you alone. In Jesus name, Amen.

Lord, I join with believers all over this nation to pray for Your will to be done in us and through us. Awaken Your church. Call us out of the rut of the American Dream and help us to live lives that glorify Your great Name. Empower us to share Your Gospel. Holy Spirit, please draw the lost to their Savior.

I pray for Your mercy to be on the people of the Gulf Coast whose livelihoods are threatened by the oil spill. Please provide for them and help the oil to be cleaned up speedily. I pray for all of our brothers and sisters in Tennessee who are suffering great losses from the flooding. Oh, Lord, show Yourself strong and faithful in the midst of this disaster. Please provide abundantly for those who have lost their homes and possessions. I pray that those who are hurting will turn to You and be comforted.

Lord, I pray that You will give our leaders wisdom to govern our country in a way that pleases You. I pray that you will deliver this country from the atrocity of abortion. Please cause our laws to be changed. Please change our hearts so that even though we may have a choice, we choose life. Lead those who have chosen abortion to find your mercy and healing.

Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. Be glorified in our nation and in all the earth. In Jesus’ holy name, amen.

Lord Jesus I pray that You would move mightily in the hearts of individuals. Bring a Godly sorrow that leads to repentance over personal, private sin. This nation is made up of individual human beings and we have each made decisions that have led us down a path of destruction. Change our hearts. Change the hearts of those in public positions, change the hearts of pastors, change the hearts of husbands and wives and children. Rebuild the family, Lord. Rebuild Your church. Help us to know how much You love us!!!!!! May You, the God of hope, fill us with all joy and peace and as we trust in You may we overflow with hope from the power of Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ Name

    Dear LORD –

This world is in your hands, and you can (and have) changed the minds of kings. I pray that YOUR WILL would be done on earth as it is in Heaven. May the respond to YOUR voice and heed your call.

So many things can terrify, cause fear, anxiety and even enrage. May we as YOUR church be careful as to heed your voice when ministering and sharing your WORD. May we NEVER forget we were sinners when you saved us. May we not confuse helping with hating.

Please pour out abundant assistence to those in the Gulf, in Tennesee. Be in every home, every family. May your presence be so thick it is truly the air they breathe.

MAY ALL GLORY AND HONOR AND PRAISE BE UNTO YOU – LORD YOU ARE SO WORTHY!

YESHUA – YOU ARE SO WORTHY TO BE PRAISED.

IN THE NAME OF MY HOLY SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST

    AMEN

    twinkle says:

God in heaven…I don’t understand what has happened to America. We are in trouble. Oil is creating turmoil. Rain is creating pain in Nashville. Government wants to tap our reserves…but we are dry. War rages…cowardly…in Times Square. The headlines reveal the depravity of man in holy matrimony. I’m sick to death of therapy for sin. I’m stopping here, Lord, because You know it, You see it, and You see it ALL. Lord, we seem caught up in a wave of evil. Our needs are the same today as they were when You sent Your Son. Repent! Lord, let the cry of John the baptist be heard across our land. Draw sinners to their knees, repenting of sin. Turn the tide of evil in America and set captives free. Wickedness is not welcome here in the heartland. Give the Holy Spirit freedom to convict and draw sinners to the cross of Calvary. That is our healing place. Begin today. In Jesus Name. Amen.

  38. 38
    Jina says:

    Jesus,

We need you to intercede for us. America is in desperate times.

I pray that you would revive our hearts God. Give us fresh revelation of you. May the church come alive as never before. Shake off whatever will keep us from serving you alone. Lord, give your church a heart that is for you and all the things you stand for. May your bride be readying herself for your return. Let all the distractions fade away as we get a clearer picture of the reality of our eternal future.

Oh Jesus, prepare the coming generations… Prepare their hearts to be sustained by you alone. Give them leadership, boldness, wisdom, tenacity, unity for the things your heart beats for and the grace to stand up under any and every circumstance. Give them minds to retain your Word like the early Church. May it drip off their tongue like honey.

God give our generation the courage to be forerunners of your gospel with them. As we grow old and weary may our lives be a ramp that they can use to run to you!

Jesus use our current government leadership for your purposes. If there is a chance, let the pride in America bend its knee to your ways God, MAKE IT SO! If the pride of man in America will be used as part of your plan; let the church here, be a reminant that brings you glory and satisfaction as your will comes to pass.

Jesus, be with the soldiers in harms way. Awaken their hearts to the reality that every day they serve is bigger than them. Let them find a source of strength in you that will make them warriors like no other. You are our Divine Warrior Jesus. Come have your way with the enemy here. You will have the victory!

    All my love to thee!

This morning I was reading Psalm 106, and it struck me how so alike we are to Israel in our rebellion…”They exchanged their Glory…they forgot the God who saved them.” We need a Moses to stand in the gap for us, we need to cry out and ask God to save us and intervene in our country. Dear Lord, turn our hearts toward You, so that you may be glorified.

Please, God, lead our nation and leaders back to you. Back to the way our country was founded.

    In Your most holy name,
    Amen
