Hey, you Darling Siestas! Just a really quick post this morning. I bet a ton of you are on Spring Break this week. What are you guys doing for it?
The Houston schools are all out this week and we were supposed to have a week off from Bible study but remember that Tuesday night when I told you the whole city shut down over 17 flakes? Well, tonight’s our make-up week so that we can end on schedule. That’s fine with me though. I trust that God is going to bring us a neat group tonight even if it’s a small group.
CJ and AJ and the kids are at a high school camp right now in East Texas where he’s teaching and she’s…well…trying to entertain two small children during the day and trying to get them both to sleep at night in the same small room as their parents. The first night was pretty challenging because Annabeth is old enough to stand up in the pack-n-play and scream bloody murder for her mommy – three feet away from her – to come rescue her. And, about the time she gets quiet, Jackson is big enough to blurt out with things like, “Did Annabeff finally go to sleep?” and rouse her up again. He’s a party animal like his Bibby and LOVES all of them sleeping in the same room.
But, the Jones are troopers and, after all, the week is filled with so many fun things. Amanda is with one of her very best buddies from the Dallas-Fort Worth area where they served for several years. I was so happy for the Jones to move back to Houston but so sad to see AJ leave some of the best friends she’d ever made. For moms, I don’t know if there’s any replacing the friends you had when you all started your families. Several of those friends are still in my life and we talk about those days all the time. I will hear many good Janelle and Ella stories when the Jones get home. Janelle is one of Amanda’s BFFs and her darling Ella was born within the same few days as Jackson and in the same hospital so she is really special to us. She also made us want a little girl the second time around in the worst way.
Melissa is working like a mad woman on her thesis and her other classes this semester so she can be finished with this second Masters in May. I don’t even have to tell you that she’s chasing her tail. She’s coming in town this weekend for a wedding and I have to work over part of it but I’ll still enjoy her like crazy when we get to be together.
Good grief! I’ve got to get off of here. My handout for tonight is not finished. I just wanted to say good morning to you guys and see who was doing something out of the ordinary for Spring Break. Finances are tight this year so many of our Siestas are probably trying to get pretty creative on Stay-cations. Give each other some great ideas!
PS. For those of you who followed the comments to the last post, did you see that the young mom who collapsed into the coma has awakened and talked some? Praise You, Lord! Raise her up a living, breathing, walking, talking MIRACLE!
We are helping to fund mission trips to Africa for our son and Guatamala for our daughter so funds are tight! But my husband and I are splurging on a short trip to Charleston for just the two of us. We can't wait and we need to get away together! So much focus on our kids is necessary right now but we need to keep those home fires burning too…
Thanks for asking!

Our children are enjoying a stay-cation with their grandparents. They each get 3 days to stay at grandma and grandpa's house for undivided attention spoiling that only grandparents know how to give!
Our children are raised and gone from home as well as our community. ๐ We happen to be vacationing right now at the Pacific ocean. With that, we are able to enjoy the kids that come to our vacation spot as well. Fun to talk with them and enjoy them.
Today's my Birthday and I am thanking God for making me and for great teachers of His Word – like Beth and many more! Praise you Father! To you be the glory and my I serve you only this day!

We want to travel this summer for mission trips and vacations, so we are saving money by:
Watching movies from the library
Cabinet Diving & Freezer Finding for unusual meals
Sleeping Late and skipping breakfast ๐
Hanging out with other friends who stayed in town
Everyone is doing a little "catch up work" on school assignments or Bible studies!
Our spring break is not until the week after Easter. The plan is to paint 2 rooms and do some camping & fishing for a couple days down at Buggs Island. Then, time permit the boys have requested their rooms to be rearranged. My youngest has a soccer tournament on the 10th-11th. On his birthday!
Happy Birthday, Beth! May God grant you the deepest desires of your heart this year!
I already had my spring break in January…went to Houston Texas! haha.
My kids have off in April and we will just hang around here. We like to take drives for the day, go sight see and eat at some place new. It's fun.
Yes, what a miracle regarding Laurie!
Blessings,

I prayed for you. You can do it!
Hi Beth,
I am going to feel close to you this week. I live in Ohio, but am coming to Bellville, Texas for a week to visit with my dear son, his wife and my 3 month old Grandson! Last time we visited we drove by your church in Houston on way to and from the airport. I would love to come sometime when I visit. Pray you have a good week, I plan on it.
Love in Christ, Gerri
Took my girls home to my parents over the weekend – had a great time with them and my sister and family!! Yesterday, my youngest got her braces and a huge appliance in her little mouth to correct an 85% overbite. She is hurting and getting used to all of that in her mouth! I will be getting braces tomorrow, so we will go through it all together! Working part of the week and took off a couple of days to play – my hubby is a teacher so he is off this week also! Just spending some time loving on my family!
Our spring break is next week where we get to go down and be with our girls and celebrate their 21st and 19th birthdays! Don't have a lot planned but time together and favorite foods cooked by their mama. ๐ And lots and lots of laughter!
Enjoy everyone!
Well, I homeschool my five year old. He flew through kindergarten in about four months, so we started first grade in Movember. Needless to say, my husband and I want him to have a summer vacation, so we won't be having spring break. In May we will have break. We will be taking our son to Williamsburg, VA, and while we are there will celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary. That will be special! Between now and then we will just take afternoon trips after school.

Yes, Spring has Sprung! Only, to bring more snow here in OKlahoma I heard, well hopefully not.
My family and I are spending time together at home enjoying cooking ribs on the grill and potatoe salad.
My group a church__we just finished Stepping Up_Bible Study.
God was really with me as I lead these ladies. It was so wonderful to see the ladies share their thoughts and prayers. They stood shoulder to shoulder wtih each other. I used the leader's guide and it was a big help. Thank you, Lord and thank you Beth!
Our next Bible study is Esther. I have watched the DVD's and finishing up the workbook as well.
It is a hugh project and I will need lots of work with prayer. It is so exciting to learn what God has next for me and others to learn. I can hardly wait for the next thing to come along. I love it!
I always wondered why we could learn what the preacher's learn at school…it should would help.
Another Baptist church is also doing Beth Moore Bible studies so we had a extra workbook we are giving them, so they can do Stepping Up too. We are getting ready to have a church brunch and we have invited churches in the area to bring their ladies and join us. I can hardly wait!! God is Wonderful!
I like the "stay-cation" thing. It's the only thing I've ever known. *smile* I am very much a homebody and so is my husband. I desperately want a family vacation though and my man does what his Dad did with them….take them on "work" trips. At least they got to go to Florida! I keep looking for a beach and the ocean in Atlanta and I just can't seem to find it. Right now, my only prayer is the salvation of my two children (9 and 8, boy and girl) and for my man to fall in love with the Jesus that he says he knows. I know God will answer my prayer. Sometimes I fall into the lie that I am as alone as I feel but then I pray and pull out my spirals and His Word fills my mind… Praise Him!
I loved what Rhonda said about spring cleaning with her 4 man-children…to make them appreciate school. he he ha ha…
We do a fair share of that ourselves! I love you Bibby and all the Siesta's on here. I covet your prayers and I am lifting you all in prayer as well.
God Bless~

I'm "nesting" for spring break! Baby Girl #2 is due at the end of May and I'm getting her room (that she'll be sharing with big sister, Taylor) ready for her arrival! Also, LOTS of spring cleaning ๐
word verification is "digatig". i think some country bumpkins ought to come up with some fun definitions for that! haha ๐
I'm a student with Liberty Online and we have our spring break this week. My son was out of school a few days last week and will be out again around Easter – so you can see, it would've been hard to plan a trip. BUT…I welcome the time off to get my spring cleaning done. We'll be going to Tybee Island for my cousin's wedding in April, so we're looking forward to a weekend getaway soon.
I just had to share this link with you! It is a commercial for the upcoming live satellite conference!!

No spring break for me this year but planning a trip to Dallas in sept. To see some friends I wanted to share something with you all that happen today . I woke up this morning feeling so good (since I start my day at 3 am it don't happen alot . ) I went to work sang my song that I fell in love with last week call "these are the words I would say" everything was going so good for me till I was placed with what I think was a spitural test . I started thinking thoughts that wasn' t from god and I tried really hard to remember my verses but I just went blank . Then I remember beth saying that just saying Jesus out loud had such a prower to it. Believe me sister it does I start saying help me through this help me Jesus . The test (person) called me and said she couldn't do what sue had plan and the test was gone . I just started thanking Jesus for my help but he did show me that I can't do these along that I need help . I just want to share with you all how wonderful that our god is that nothing is to small or big for him.
Rejoicing that DOVE Chocolates are on sale at Target for $3 a bag…and that no one else around here really likes Dark Chocolate so they don't all disappear in one day!!
WE have break over Easter so I am here at school teaching my little butterflies and wishing the sun was out so I could wear flip flops. So I shall prevail…hehehe
Everyone have a great spring break.
Love yall
Jo, I loved the commercial for simalcast. It was so funny! Bibby you must see it.
We had a big road trip last week with the kiddos from Colorado where we live to Tucson, AZ to see Grandparents. We went down through Santa Fe and visited the old church with the miracle staircase, learned a lot about the desert/ saw petroglyphs and came home through the reservations – lots of education! (for my husband and me anyways!) Kids just remembered bike riding, finding the stick bug, the lizard my daughter picked up (that's my girl!) and all the jackrabbits we saw at night! We had a lot of fun and best of all, I read the first eight chapters of your book and I'm finally caught up with the group – yeah!

Ours is next week…we're talking about a drive around Rocky Mountain National Park and a dat at Estes…fortunately we can drive up for the day.
Praying for you tonight as you teach, Beth–and praying for your girls…I've been dreaming about them both lately..so I have woken up and prayed for them. (not bad dreams, just daily kinds of dreams). I did dream that Amanda had started co-teaching with you at LPL conferences. ๐
Like many of you, my kids are at different schools so their breaks don't coincide. Whenever I feel "jipped" out of a vacation I think I had coming, I try to do something I perceive to be "vacationy". For me that means putting all the leaves in my dining room table and quarentining half of it for a jigsaw puzzle. Pretty corny, I know, but it seems to have the desired effect of making me feel relaxed. Of course, I have to allow myself to actually work on the puzzle guilt-free. Last time I did this my teenage daughter and her friends ended up finishing the puzzle for me. Little did they know that was part of my evil plan all along ๐
Happy staycation from your nerdy siesta!
I am on spring break – PRAISE THE LORD! – from college. =)
I am home in Middle Georgia and this is the least amount of "break" I've ever had. I've got tons of homework, but of course I'm putting THAT off to relax in the sunshine!
Tomorrow night is youth where my friends will be sharing their testimonies from an incredible experience with God four years ago. If you're around & want to come – send me an email!!
I'm also just taking some time out to paint and catch up on this dear book. =) Yep, I have a copy now – thanks to a beautiful siesta. seeing Adonai move is grand. ๐
Our Spring Break plan for next week is to redeem the Christmas gift we gave to our son, our daughter & son-in-law and our 22 month old granddaughter: A week of skiing and relaxing in Breckenridge, CO.
I am not the avid skier that the rest of my family is, so I plan to spend much of my week simply enjoying my wonderful granddaughter, catching up on
So Long Insecurity and its discussions and just enjoying the simple beauty of God's wonderful creation.

This is our 1st spring here in North America & we're just spending the spring break at home.
So much is different in this land of abundance from Kenya, where we come from back in Africa.
As we've just started to go out on long walks since the winter,I see the shoots spring up from the ground. It kind of reminds me of God's power & goodness springing up from our hearts, sometimes frozen & hardened by the winters of life. Like what God is doing in us through SLI.
HOMEWORK – back in school after a little break of about 26 years ๐ …writing papers, midterm exams…..hmmmm, I guess Spring Break is a break for the professors

Beth….just wanted to let you know what "happened" after I read your book. I didn't know just how long I had struggled with insecurity or all the ways that it was controlling my life. I've got a long way to go–but I'm getting there! I started applying the principles in the book and realized that I am a terrific 52 year old woman and I can do much with my life. ๐ In fact, I'm leaving in 2 weeks to do something I've wanted to do for many years, but never felt that I "could" do. I'm planning to hike the lower 1/2 of the Appalachian Trail. And I'm going alone. There will be other hikers on the trail, but I'm going by myself. I am so excited. I can do this. I am worth the money we spent on my supplies and I have a terrific husband who is so excited by the "new" wife he has, that he is encouraging me to go. God and I are going to have a terrific few months together. The hike is just over 1000 miles, I'll be going from Georgia to Pennsylvania. I never dreamed that I could do this! But God and I together can do anything! Thanks Beth!
I have three granddaughters coming in for a few days. They come tonight. I'm hoping for warm, sunny weather.

This spring break we are preparing for GPS. It is this awesome evangelism campaign the SBC is doing. It includes prayer walks and door hangers. My DH is the Senior Pastor, so I am putting together 1000 bag for hanging and walking the neighborhood praying. I hope there are others of you out there participating in GPS as well. My sweet babies are also helping out, it is such a blessing to see them helping out at church (even though they get alittle cranky about it!)

Hey ladies-
My kiddos just finished their school week today and we have no big plans for the week, but we do cherish the extra time together. I am so BLESSED beyond belief that I get to bring my kids to work with me on Wednesday and I get to work early to spend most of Thursday with them. So-just glad to have some extra time with them. They sure do get big fast!
In Him,
Andrea
No kids so I can break when I have the time and money. I have to teach this Easter Sunday. If I didn't I might think about going to Chimney Rock Park for the Sun Rise Service and staying the rest of the day. To give you an idea of Chimney Rock Park, think of the end of the Last of the Mohicans where the character dove off the huge stone chimney. That was in Chimney Rock Park NC.
My husband and I are heading to Haiti on Friday for the week. Pray safety for us please as we go to serve in whatever way HE leads.
Our spring break is in a couple weeks (my oldest will turn 13 that week) (where did the time go???)…
we're going to Destin, Fl to stay in a friend's beach house. Thank you Lord for friends who have places we can go for free! ๐
Anybody know how to lose 20 pounds in 2 weeks???
Going to Hawaii to pick up my big sister from YWAM! ๐
Many here in MSP are on Spring break this week. My kids' schools don't go until Holy Week. We will be around. My MIL is coming to town for a couple of days to spend with our kids.
My son,Dan, turns 14 on March 31. (Unfortunately he is getting two teeth pulled on Monday but will have Grandma to take care of him on Tuesday.) My baby, Claire, 9, receives her first communion on Maundy Thursday. Why do they grow up so fast?
Then it's Good Friday and Easter.
I wish everyone a fun Spring Break!
Blessings,
Mary Ann, Woodbury, MN
I don't have spring break as a homeschooling mom of four, but I'll tell you some of our sneaky Stay-cation ideas we use during the summer. We invite the buddies over and have "game" night. Depending upon the age group that day, we play some Monopoly, the Wii, Boggle, etc… We typically grill and the kids LOVE it! We also hit the library for free movies and they don't know the difference. (if they do, they don't care! lol) For my youngest, who's six and a girl, her girly buddies have "spa" day. Fingernails are painted, toenails are splendid and eyelids are any shade from hideous blue to eye popping orange and they think they're in hog heaven.(my grandma used that term…please excuse it as I'm fully Southern ladies!)
You can also pile into the car and hit a park. My kids and their pals like this, too. Frisbee is a favorite of the teenager (he's 15) and his friends. We've even taken a portable grill and had hotdogs down there. The little ones will take a thing of bubbles and you'd think I'd discovered some kind of gold they love 'em so much! Another cheap way to have fun is the old pass time of horseshoes. Most of the kids have never played, and even the "good" sets are fairly inexpensive.
The biggest benefit? Having the opportunity to bring the Lord up to these kids and know they are hearing you because they respect you. Spending time with our kids friends has made us the "popular" parents and also given us real moments for God to reveal Himself to these precious kids through us. I'm forever grateful for that.
Have fun over spring break siestas! I pray you have lovely weather, fun times and God moments that just slay you!
We are spring breaking it at home BUT I would love some fun ideas to do at home….requiring little finances…and the weather not permitting us to be outside!
Amen, may our Lord heal the precious young mother and restore her to her family fully healthy.
Beth, thanks for thinking of us and your on going ministry. I also pray Amanda to have a wonderful and peaceful time with her family and friends with some sleep to go along with it! I adore having the opportunity to share in a small part of your wonderful daughters' journey, they do reflect their mother and father's gift and commitment to generational healing. You are an inspiration, my dear- I just cancelled my trip with my husband this week due to financial issues- not sure the issues have anything to do with the economy- but I am having to hold tight to "HOPE", something is wrong in "Dodge" and I may be witnessing a crack in the foundation of my marriage and/or the emotional health of my husband- it is late in life and I pray God will give me a "peak" into what he is doing in this unexpected crisis- when do the major crises end? Have a blessed study tonight.
My son is taking hunter safety for his 4H shooting club, my daugther is complaining about nothing to do, daddy is helping with hunter safety and mom is off to the Republican Caucus Meeting this evening.
Busy having a few kid friends come over and play AND doing a few sleepovers with friends. Kids are enjoying 70 degree days here in Colorado!
Blessings

I'm kicking my Spring Break off with Siesta Mama in TUCSON on Friday March 26th!!! WooHoo! We do ours pretty late, compared to others, because it has to coincide w/the BIG Yuma County Fair. I am so ready for my 9 days off! This Kindergarten teacher needs a break!

The city offers programs for the kids, like a baseball camp & we're taking advantage of that.
So since we homeschool, this is more break from my kids than I normally get. ๐
And I just had to say that I also have a precious Ella…if you feel so inclined to see for yourself

Our Spring Break doesn't happen until next week, but we are looking forward to having some time to go bowling, go to the movie theater, play some board games, and just hang out at home. Hopefully the weather will be nice and we can even take a trip to the zoo or the coast for a day. Whatever we do, it will just be great to do it together! Bless ya'll. :o)
My sweet husband took our 11 year old skiing to Winter Park, CO. It was great for some Daddy/Daughter time! I got to stay home and enjoy being alone with the almost 4 year old (who thinks he is a pirate!) and also renovate my kitchen. Beth, I am amazed constantly by your gift from God. Sometimes I think your face is as radiant as Aaron's must have been. You are just sunshine in my life. Thank you!
I am taking my Bible some books my bible study homework a few journals and head for the ocean. I will take my quilting to do and enjoy the sound of the ocean.
I love to get up early make coffee and just watch the waves and read. I can't wait. Peace Peace Peace. Oh yeah my husband can come too, he's pretty good company.

Hello Sweet Friend:
I am actually off work during Spring Break, and our break is the week before Easter, March 29-April 2. We are going to Savannah, GA for our pastors/wives retreat the first part of the week, then back home Wednesday. We cannot miss choir rehearsal heaven forbid!!!
The choir has to prepare for Easter Sunday! I can't wait for the special worship my sweet minister man has planned.
Then the last of the week I hope to get some gardening done. I am going to have a vegetable garden this year – and I always have my flower beds to get ready. My daylilies, snapdragons, hydrangeas and roses are all putting out new growth even now!
Come see me and we can fish in the catfish pond!
And I hope to read, read, read, and will enjoy some quiet mornings with coffee and the Lord – not bound by the clock!
Much love to you Beth and family,
Georgia Jan
Spring break sounds more like spring fever! ๐ Glad you all are doing well!
Unfortunately, as your children grow up, they also grow out but we are celebrating our 30th anniversary at Myrtle Beach where for years we took our children. Only this year our children, mates or college friends are coming. I am so excited. Of course, we are spending a couple of days with each other before the kids come.(But for both of us, excitement is when all those kids arrive!!
