Jackson Hole – Part 2

Curtis and I marveled at how much Annabeth changed during our two weeks in Wyoming. This picture was taken on the day she started sitting up. She was using her hands but could sit for a long time.

Exactly one week later, when she happened to be wearing the same outfit, she was sitting with no hands. This is such a fun stage! I’m enjoying our last bit of time before she becomes mobile.

This was Annabeth’s first time in a restaurant high chair.

One night after my parents arrived, we had dinner on the deck at Signal Mountain Lodge. After that we walked down to Jackson Lake.

Jackson is embracing his big brother role a little more these days.

This is a picture of one of the cookouts we attended by the river.

Curtis and Annabeth challenged Jackson and his friend in a race.

Annabeth did not enjoy being a track star.

Here’s Baby Girl’s first time in a playground swing. I did not bring her enough cool-weather clothes, so I frequently resorted to pajamas.

One morning our whole family attended a breakfast cookout up on a mountain. Dad and I and joined the trail riders on horseback while Mom and Curtis brought the kids up in a car. We had hot chocolate, eggs, bacon, and pancakes. It was so much fun.

Jackson and his daddy played hide and seek in the town square. Here’s Jackson counting.

Here he is hiding.

A view of the Tetons from near our place.

Mt. Moran might be my favorite.

A deer in the river by our cabin.

The Sleeping Indian. Can you see him?

One day we visited Jenny Lake. You do not want to miss it if you ever visit Jackson Hole.

We took a shuttle boat across the lake to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point.

Looking up at the mountain from the boat.

Here’s what we hiked to see.

We – mainly Jackson – got soaked on the boat ride back. The water was freezing! Jackson has always loved being splashed with cold water (seriously), so he had a great time. People around us were even trying to take pictures of him because he was so funny.

The pictures you are about to see are from The Greatest Day of Jackson’s Life.

We went to Snow King and did the alpine slide.

The slide was really fun, but I only did it once because the ski lift to the top of it scared me to death. Curt says it isn’t as freaky when there’s snow below you. The Moores aren’t skiers, so I wouldn’t really know.

Then Curtis and I went temporarily insane and let Jackson do the bungee trampoline. You are seeing the highlight of his three-year-old life.

Everyone within a mile heard him squealing.

After that, we had lunch at the Saddle Rock Family Saloon.

The only beer they served was root beer. Oh my word, it was the best ever!

Jackson capped the day off with a horse ride. This is Blizzard, the most chilled out horse known to man. Jackson looked like a baby on top of that big ole animal.

That concludes the Greatest Day of Jackson’s Life.

Here’s a bad picture of some elk in the valley.

This is our favorite pizza place. No visit is complete without it.

It’s our tradition to take a picture on this huge stump before we leave. Right after this, some very sad Joneses got in the car and drove to the airport. Sad, sad, sad.

Thanks for sharing our pictures!

For everyone going to Deeper Still in Orlando this weekend, have an awesome time with Jesus!

thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing these wonderful, wonderful pictures! As soon as I've settled back in the U.S., I will definitely start planning a visit to Jackson Hole… I wonder if driving is feasible from Orlando? cough. I just looked at the map… I think driving is NOT an option!

… and speaking of Orlando, I just wanted to say that I am ABSOLUTELY gutted not to be there for the Deeper Still Event!! I am moving there in mid-October, so I am missing it by barely a month! sob! Next year, for sure!!

pps further to my move.. may I post a "selfish" note here? I am moving to the Orlando area (Lake Mary, specifically) in a month's time from England, and I would soooo welcome to get in touch and meet some of the local "Siestas"… it will also make my move a bit easier as I am moving to a totally "unknown territory"!! pls email me!

thank you Amanda for this aside… and thank you again for the wondddderful photographs!

Just beautiful! My son, Jack, just asked if these pictures were of friends of mine. I told him not exactly, but we are brothers and sisters in Christ and we will meet them some day. I am not sure he understood, but we do!

Oh, SO LOVE these photos. We took our two girls out west a little over a year ago. My husband was laid off, we withdrew girls from school, (home school for a semester) got in an RV and headed west. We visited many of these same places! So fun – can't wait to get back there some day!! Thanks again!

So much fun! Isn't it neat to see how our children react with water? Some like it cold, some hot. Some love the splashing, some don't. And the beauty of seeing the world with the enthusiastic eyes of our children–priceless!

I hope pre-school is going well!

    love,

I loved seeing your beautiful pictures! I went white water rafting on Snake River with our Youth Group while on a mission trip to nearby Ethete, and it was freezing in late June! It is always a pleasure to see pictures of your sweet family- I really feel like I know you all personally though them.

My cup runneth over…that's about all I can muster after Deeper Still this weekend. I definitely need some time to mull over everything that was said, but I was absolutely BOWLED OVER with God's Presence, and the fact that He purposefully placed some very amazing women around me while there.

P.S. For anyone else who was there, did Beth's rap not crack you up or what!?@???! And I about fell off my chair when she said she had a "God-given Bump-it"!! HAHA!!

Just got back from Deeper Still in Orlando!! I am still in awe of God and how he uses his own to speak to others through them!! It is so awesome. I learned just what I was asking for. I had been praying specifically about the need for discernment and God delivered! Thank you Jesus, Thank you Beth for being his vessel. Please pray for my family as we consider all the things we really need to pray about. Kay's message on being prepared for the troubled times ahead and resting in God, and Priscilla's word on believing that our God can go above and beyond our beyond because HE IS ABLE!! I was so refreshed. ๐Ÿ™‚ By the way, Jackson Hole is my family's favorite place to visit!!! Have you ever tried Nora's fish camp in Wilson??Awesome breakfast ๐Ÿ™‚ And we love the desserts at Spectacle Mnt. lodge. (like the gift shop too!) Just had to pop on here and say how much I appreciated Beth at Deeper Still this weekend. I was supposed to go to LPL in JAcksonville in Feb. but had to cancel because my daughter was in the hospital. Then I had to cancel a Women of FAith event b/c my husband was having surgery. IN between I had to cancel to cancel a Revolve Tour event b/c my daughter was in hospital again. I almost had to miss this one b/c my Father in law was having surgery for bladder cancer. But God is good and this time I actually made it! And oh my oh my oh my did I ever get a word! It was like God looked starigt into my situation (preachers wife here, nuf said?) and told me EXACTLTY what to do. Not only me, but my wonderful husband as well. I know how exhausting it is to prepare and teach and I just wanted to say thank you. You matter. You and Kay and Priscilla brought God's word to me and that MATTERS! WELL DONE GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVENT. ๐Ÿ™‚

What darling children. Thanks for sharing your pictures. We are the proud parents of three boys. While I wouldn't trade them for the world; there is just something special about those little baby girls and all the cute little girl clothing, shoes, princess costumes, etc… O.K. Maybe baby boys are a little cheaper, but they do get just as expensive the older they get. Have a great weekend!

She also carried me, when my son passed away, I was doing "Daniel" & I believe that study gave me the strength,& everything else it took to carry Nick home. I was being refined.

Great family pictures. We love that you share them with us. What a bond it creates with women who have never met. LOVED Them.

Orlando Deeper Still was awesome! Just got back about an hour ago. We stayed through Sunday and went to Millenia Mall for some last moments of girl time.

I'm already planning to get some women together for next years' LPL in Tampa. I'm already convicted of three lost friends who I'd love to expose to the Lord. And what better event than LPL. I'll be praying for the next 6 months that God will start working in their lives. I'm so thankful for the opportunity to go. I was very restored in the Lord. God Bless you ladies for persevering in ministry. I know it's not easy.

    Love to you all.

Oh Amanda, What memories your pictures resurrected in me. I grew up in western Nebraska, so we made trips to the Tetons a few times. I'd almost forgotten Jenny Lake. . . it all made me homesick. Our kids wanted to do the "Alpine Slide" in the Black Hills (S.D.). The ride was a blast, but I didn't enjoy it much because I was so traumatized by the ski lift up (with no snow)! eeek! Thanks for sharing your vacation with us. Jackson Hole/Yellowstone is a great place to bask in the beauty of God's creation.

As you ended up with best wishes for Deeper Still in Orlando this last weekend, let me tell you all, that for the group of Dominican women at the event, it went over our expectations. God was there so evident in everything, the organization, the worship music, that group they are really worshippers from the heart, all three women were used magnificently by the Lord our God. It was worth flying from the Caribbean to Florida. Now we are going to share that blessing with our sisters in Christ in our country. Hoping that someday we can have our Deeper Still Event locally.
