Happy Friday, Dear Siestas!
So, I need your help. I just ran out of perfume and I am on the prowl for a fabulous new scent. Do you have a perfume you swear by? I am a serious perfume junkie.
I started out stealing Amanda’s Love’s Baby Soft as a young child. It was the first perfume I remember feeling pretty in.
Then in Middle School I moved on to things like Sun-Ripened Raspberry and Juniper Breeze from Bath & Body Works. I honestly don’t know how the boys could stand to be around us because my friends and I would spray a fourth of a bottle of this stuff all over our bodies even during class change.
(It is totally annoying me that the Juniper Breeze picture is so much bigger than the Sun-Ripened Raspberry picture. I’m getting serious OCD right now. But, alas, I don’t have time to deal with it because it’s Friday! And P.S. I used these two scents about ten bottle designs ago. Every time they change the bottle design I feel a generation older.)
In High School I rebelliously snuck into the controversial Abercrombie & Fitch store against my parents wishes and bought Abercrombie 8. The managers at that store feared their demise and often abandoned their cash registers when they saw my Mom’s big blond hair and corresponding Bible approaching so my best guess is that she had dropped me off at the Mall that particular day. Since I am older and wiser, I will not at this point discuss how passionately I loved Abercrombie 8.
In college, I stopped going to Abercrombie & Fitch (a combination of sanctification and the fact that I could no longer fit into their teeny and tiny clothing) and started wearing Angel. I still love this scent but I have since come to think that it is a bit frilly for me. The great thing about Angel is that it lasts the entire day. Miraculous.
This past Christmas I was given both Marc Jacobs and Lolita Lempicka and so I have gone back and forth between these two scents for the past seven months. I love them both and they are totally different. When I feel girly, I wear Lolita Lempicka and when I feel sophisticated, I wear Marc Jacobs.
Problem is that I am out of both of them. I feel that my personality has been sucked right out of me. Not to mention, everyone must think I stink. I know, you’re asking, “How in the world did you manage to use both bottles in a short period of seven months?” Please do not get hostile toward me, for I already admitted that I am a total junkie. But I’m at peace with it.
Please help!
And, I almost forgot, have a fantastic Friday!
You are loved.
Banana Republic's classic scent for women—really clean, classy & subtle. When someone walks past me, I catch a whiff (sp? don't think I've ever typed that word before!) of my perfume & I Love it everytime! ;D
Go to http://www.pacificaperfume.com and order the waikiki pikake. You won't be sorry. It's been my signature scent for a while now and I get soooo many compliments. It's inexpensive too! They also have some of the products at sephora. I used to buy it at Anthropologie but haven't seen it there lately.

*Nina Ricci 'Premier Jour'
described as a sensual, floral harmony
fragrance blends the freshness of yellow mandarin with the radiance of gardenia morning dew.
the bottle is adorable
the smell wonderful
an all time favorite.
I hardly ever wear perfume cause they're so expensive and I don't think I stink. I wear whatever someone else buys me when I do.
I am a perfume junkie and have a ton of scents. During the Esther study when I had to number the toiletries let's just say I needed a calculator.
Bvlgari- Jasmin Noir simply wonderul. Sophisticated yet feminine.
Siesta Maddy
Two words….
AMAZING GRACE by Philosphy.
It's my absolute favorite!
I have worn "Happy" by Clinique since I found it a few years ago. It is such a clean, fresh scent. I get A LOT of compliments too.
I'm sure you'd like it.
I just found your blog. I'm happy to find you!
God bless!

I am a body splash kind of gal, perfume is too heavy for me. So I use a lot of Bath N Body stuff. I cried when they dicontinued Green Clover and Aloe and I have always liked Sweet Pea. During Christmas and the holidays I love love love the winter candy apple fragrance.
Anyways, we are around the same age because I used all of those scents you mentioned back in the day too:)
Hands down – Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue. My oldest married daughter asked her Dad to buy some in duty free. He obliged and she began wearing it. Every time she and the family came over, my husband would smell her and say, 'That perfume smells really good. What is it?', to which she would reply, 'Dad, it's the perfume you bought me in duty free.' Finally she suggested he buy it for me since he liked it so much. He did. She stopped wearing it and I have worn it for several years. The nice thing about the fragrance is that I can't smell it at all on me but people literally stop me and ask or when I walk by they say, 'is that Dolce & Gabbana?' or 'who's wearing Dolce & Gabbana?'. So, I won't be changing any time soon. C Gahm
I discovered Calvin Klein Epicurious a few years ago. I get complements daily on it.
Euphoria by Calvin Klein. Trust me on this! I've been wearing it for at least 3 years. I always get compliments on it, and I don't even sniff another perfume!
I am in love with Amazing Grace by Philosophy (Don't you love the name!) It is a very clean, fresh scent. I use the body wash and lotion and it lasts all day. My closet smells like it and so do my sheets! Heavenly!!
BOUCHERON TROUBLE!!!!
I'm a little obsessive about my perfume, and have a nose like a bloodhound for the "good stuff". This is my signature scent that I get raves on. Even the old, stern, no nonsense man in my office commented on day that I was the best smelling woman he had ever encountered. Problem though, it has been discontinued but can be found on the internet or at one of the frangrance outlet shops! A little pricy, but what good scent isn't. A good back up is Dolce & Gabana, the original with the red lid.
I wear "Alien" by Terry Mugler. And then in the bath and body scents, i get the cotton blossom or sea island cotton. but the perfume by terry mugler is my favorite. 🙂
My favorite perfume is Dolce & Gabbana (really like to say that…)The One. It smells amazing! As soon as I have an extra $100 with nothing to do with it..hmmm.. it's what I'm going to buy!
THE JOURNEY CONTINUES ~
WILD = RALPH LAUREN
WITH "HEAVEN BOUND" BLESSINGS,
KIM SAFINA
Last but not least… Black Orchid (let it wear for a bit before you judge it) and Flowerbomb
oooh! this is a fun post. Chanel N°5 is wonderful all around. Hanae Mori Paris 'Butterfly' Parfum because I am always searching for things that I'm not allergic to– headaches! When I'm up for a headache (willing to spray behind my knees usually) Donna Karan 'Cashmere Mist' is wonderful! I'm also into earthly, musky things I buy at a local co-op, Aura Cacia’s essential oils are nice behind the neck… and EAU DE ZUM
Frankincense & Myrrh (pretty heavy and overwhelming, esp.ly on a hot summer day, this one does last, too– ZUM also makes soap which can be cut into small slices- excellent to wrap in pretty packages at Christmastime to pass around and share for the Nativity story or as stocking stuffers. Last, but not least, I'll share ORIGINS has nice creams with powerful fragrance… this was fun! haven't gotten to talk someone's ear off like this about girl stuff in ages, THANKS and hope you enjoy!!
You know you will get as many suggestions as there are perfumes. My fav is "Beautiful" by Estee Lauder. Been wearing it for years….and the packaging never changes. (So I can feel 20 or 40ish but still always beautiful!)
My new fav is Victoria's Secret very sexy noir. It's not too frilly.
Michael…by Michael Kors. let us know your final selection
Oh, Melissa you are too funny! I promise no hostile judgements here…I too LOVE perfume! Here are my favs…they are old, (I've continually worn them since high school), but still my favs…
Beautiful by Estee Lauder
Ysatis by Givenchy
Gucci No. 3
I also love Cherry Blossom and Japanese Cherry Blossom by Bath & Body Works…
Burberry (original scent). People regularly ask me what scent I'm wearing because it smells so good.
Sandra
I am leaving another comment because you have 666 of them and I don't like that number!!! LOL.
So, suggestion #676 says, sugar vanilla bath n body is a yummy scent too. 🙂
I love, love, LOVE Burberry Brit.
My favorite is Clinique Happy. It lasts all day and I get lots of compliments on it.
My gosh, you have 668 to choose from! This is a delayed post but Bath & Bodyworks has a new scent called Butterfly Flower. It's my summer signature! I used to be a department store perfume junkie too but that was B.C. (before children!)

My mother-in-law bought me a fragrance from Biosilk (the hair product people). I absolutely love the smell! The name of the scent is Femme. It is subtle and clean. It fits me perfectly and doesn't irritate my allergies.
DKNY Be Delicious…the green apple one, not the red…it is sooooooo good, I seriously have a tough time not trying to eat it. Oh, and also Pink from Victoria's Secret. Its girly and soft, but not to sweet.
most important.. how do you read all these messages? and I totally enjoy pure grace and amazing grace by philosophy.. they sound like something you woud like too.. [email protected]
Burberry Brit is my absolute favorite! Try it, you'll love it!
I was so nervous the Christmas morning I opened up a box of perfume that I had never tried before…my sweet husband, I was afraid that my picky self would'nt like it…turned out that I LOVED IT! I asked him how he knew I would like it and he said a woman walked past him in the mall, he stopped her and asked what perfume she was wearing because he thought it smelled like me…it was ALLURE by Chanel. I wear it alot in the winter and my favorite from my high school days, AnaisAnais by Cacharel for summer time.
not to be repetitive, but i also suggest:
amazing grace by philosophy
lovely by sarah jessica parker
i've also just started wearing, which i LOVE:

Try Flora by Gucci or Jivago 24K – two of my faves!
Ooooo girl, Coco Madammoiselle. LOVE IT! And I love MJ too, that's Marc Jacobs. Not the Thriller, even though love that video and can do the dance. Aghhh I digress.
Philosophy Amazing Grace. it is wonderful and 'clean.' it isn't frilly but a good every day scent.
YOU MUST TRY Alfred Sung (the original one) I have worn it since High School and 17 years later am still getting compliments on it everytime I wear it. Seriously….try it!
Melissa you crack me up!! Really, you do!! I wish I could help with the perfume, but since hubby gets headaches w/ perfumes, I am ONLY ALLOWED to Body Sprays. My sprays of choice… "Victoria Secrets, Love Spell." Sooo yummy! I get a ton of compliments when I wear that one. *OR* I wear… "Bath & Bodyworks, Black Raspberry Vanilla". Also very yummy!!
There ya go. I am curious to find out what you decide to venture on to.
Groovewoman
I love Narciso Rodriguez…black bottle…get it at Saks Fifth Avenue.
I love Flowers by Kenzo. It has a soft fragrance, but for Big Girls. It is not offensive to people that are easily offended. I love it! Good luck!
I currently have Guess and am ready for a new scent as well so I love this post! Some of my other favs are Romance by Ralph Lauren and Heavenly by Victoria's Secret.
I am a nurse and can't wear perfume to work so I still have a bottle of Eternity from probably 8 years ago. I wonder if perfume expires??
I can't wait to hear what you picked from your trip to the mall and if you were to find Shedonism again 🙂
i am way behind commenting on this but my favorite scent is givenchy hot couture. (hot, not haute.)
🙂 i love LL and Angel as well! 🙂
Melissa, my favorite is an absolutely wonderful fragrance by Philosophy called Amazing Grace. It is so soft and feminine. They also have a fragrance called Falling In Love that is nice too. When I wear Grace everyone wants to know what it is.
Blessings,
Jane
Be Delicious is definitely one of my favorites
