Amanda, here are a few specific things I’m thankful for on our anniversary…
-I’m thankful you chose to spend the summer of 2000 doing missions instead of lounging by a pool somewhere.
-I’m thankful you canceled your flight from Springfield to Houston to drive twelve hours with someone you had known for a week. I would punch myself in the face if Annabeth did that. No wonder your dad didn’t like me.
-I’m thankful you accidentally told me you wanted to marry me three weeks later.
-I’m thankful you cried when it was time to head back to our respective colleges at the end of the summer.
-I’m thankful for AT&T long distance cell phone bills.
-I’m thankful for through-the-night drives to Texas for weekend visits and the C+ grade point average they produced.
-I’m thankful for 14 long months of engagement.
-I’m thankful that when the doors flew open at the back of the church, you were the one who came out.
-I’m thankful for ten toothbrush holders and paying our rent with the money we got for returning them.
-I’m thankful for four years of just you and me.
-I’m thankful for T-ball sets and footy pajamas.
-I’m thankful for the white house with black shutters I share with the world’s greatest wife.
They say year seven is the hardest. Let’s roll it up, beat it into submission, and show it who’s boss. I love you and would pick you all over again.

Thankful that Curtis is a Godly man and openly sharing his love! I'm celebrating my 17th anniversary next month and consumed with books such as "Love Dare," "How to Act Right When Your Spouse Acts Wrong," and "The Power of Prayer to Change Your Marriage." I'm in for the long run and know that my marriage represents obedience to God. When we hit a bump in the road, God provides the resources to bring us out of the pit. The 7-year Myth is only accurate for those who do not live in the spirit of faith and under the wings of God. "Love Never Fails." 1 Cor 13:4-8

Beautiful! Happy Anniversary!
If I had seen that kind of love and appreciation between my parents I might have looked a little harder to find THE man for me. Thanks for sharing that tender sweet side Curtis. I maybe the only one who really needed to see that. There are good guys out there. First the proposal, then the new Bible and this….and tomorrow Beth's birthday —- how can it get much better?
Jan
Happy Anniversary! It sounds like a match made in heaven!
Keep up the good work Amanda…when your man says something like that you know you must be doing something right! I wish we were all sitting in a coffee shop so you could give us the girly details!
Humbly His,

Curtis, you made my day! I love you so much! I still refuse to believe that I accidentally mentioned marriage first, but that's okay because you accidentally told me you loved me on a voicemail. Either way, I'm glad you love me and I'm glad we got married!

Man. As in "what a man."
What an example for the "if it's convenient, I'll commit" generation. Believing that you will not only tame year 7, but 77 and beyond.

Congrats to you both and may there be many more to come!!
SWEET
well put, Mr. Jones. Happy Anniversary to you both!
Proposal… anniversary…… love is in the air <3
Okay so that was really sweet!
However I bet Keith wanted to take you to the wood shed but if I were you I would have been more concerned of the moma!!! I can't remember what tape I was listening to but our "sweet" siesta moma made the comment if anyone hurt or bothered her children she would grow claws and rip their tongue out of their throat and leave them bald headed. LOL boot up your hindend or bald and tongueless (is that a word)
But I do believe you have won their hearts and we all know how much they love you!!! We need to see some pictures of those babies!!!!!

beautiful!
Amanda & Curtis…
I'm sure your wonderful Mom/Mother-in-Law can give you many examples of the good and the difficult in marriage…but since I have the priviledge of being a siesta I want to share!
My DH and I have been married for 16 wonderful and sometimes challenging years! Year 7 was a tough one for us…not that we wanted out or wanted anyone else…just tough in getting along and understanding each other! Sometimes you just have to laugh at each other and the weird things you will go through…and like your wonderful husband says Amanda…beat it into submission and enjoy every minute. We did not not have our children until year 10 of our marriage so I think you have an advantage…you can live your lives through the eyes of your sweet innocent babies and enjoy each minute so simply…just like they do. Sometimes the simplest things are best.
As my DH always says…we are SO beyond blessed…there will always be issues…we are human after all. Remember to love each other and find joy in each other! Happy Anniversary and thank you for letting us be a part of your lives!
Donna (the mom of twin boys)
So stinkin' sweet!
Revel in your blessings, girl!
Love,
Kristen

You have to have a few hard times to really enjoy the good times. I remember well having 50 cents in the bank and a week until payday. Thank you, Jesus for K-Mart credit card. We have made it over 45 years together and we are still crazy in love. Happy Anniversary!!!
