Rich sent me these pictures from New Orleans tonight. Melissa has been gently encouraging Mom to carry a camera for the benefit of the blog. When Rich saw Mom pull out her rinky dink camera at lunch to capture all the fun, he intervened. Thanks, Rich!
Here are my Uncle Tony, Mom, Aunt Cherie, and cousin Carleigh. Some of you prayed for my cousin Carleigh when she was born premature. She is obviously doing great now!
Upon arrival, they headed straight to Brennan’s for lunch.
And bananas foster for dessert, of course.
Small World!!!! My daughter had dance class with Carleigh last year and talked with Cherie all the time.

WOW! WOW! WOW! Two of my girlfriends and I drove from SC Wednesday afternoon to NOLA to come to LPL. We stayed with my aunt who has turned her home into a mission house of sorts for short term groups who come rebuild and/or minister to the city.
We drove back to SC immediately after the Saturday session (well, we did have to stop and have one last shrimp poboy…) and got in around 1:00AM Eastern time. It was a LONG drive, a short trip, and totally worth it! (CONFESSION OF WILLFUL SIN: I wore my LPL wristband to church this morning to make my friends jealous – tee-hee!)
God spoke to each of us in such a powerful way through Beth’s message (I’m STILL wrestling with it – thank you), Travis and the Praise Team’s music (can I just say I love it when I hear a person/group sing and it sounds just like the CD? I mean, seriously? Is there anything more annoying than your favorite song being performed live and it sounds NOTHING like what you’ve sung along with in your car?) and the trips we took through Lakeview, Mid-City, Uptown, etc. to take in the devestation and the rebirth of such an amazing city. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible! It was phenomenal!
God is taking back the city of New Orleans, y’all! Christ followers are flooding into the area to rebuild, to minister and to love on His children. He is making His name known in a mighty and powerful way! What a privilege to take it all in – to see His Hands in action. Keep praying for the Gulf Coast. Even though it’s not a headline in the news anymore, that doesn’t mean the work is finished!
Beth those are some amazing photos! Thanks for sharing!
I don’t know how Aunt Cherie is related but does anyone tell Melissa that they look like each other? Does anyone else think so??
Bananas Foster from Brennan’s sounds perfectly delicious right now! Great pics, Rich!
Does anyone know where I can get a CD or buy an mp3 of Travis and the praise team singing that version of “Victory in Jesus”?? One of the workers told me you could get it on the LPM ministries website, but I don’t see it. I loved the way they rocked it out! I haven’t been able to find anything similar. I know my 3 year old would love it. Maybe it will be on Travis’ new cd??
Thanks! 🙂
whatever you are paying him, you are not paying that man enough.
Wonderful pictures – family, food, worship! What more can you ask for! Can’t wait for Portland!

Beth,
Was this the same brother that was with you in Lexington, KY in 2004? I remember you having a brother and sister-in-law with you and they had a little girl with them. She was just a baby then.
Hope you had a marvelous and blessed time! After doing hurricane Katrina relief we LOVE New Orleans as well!!
Kimberly
Dearest Beth,
Thank you so much for coming to NO! I and 6 other ladies from our church drove down to hear you speak and each one of us came back with such a freshness in the Spirit and such a closeness in our hearts with each other!
Sincerely ~ Tricia Anne
New Orleans was great! Thanks so much for such a great message! I have to tell you that I actually got the tickets for the event from my mom for Christmas – we ordered them on October 30. I guess you can tell I’ve been looking forward to it for a while now and I was not disappointed! Thanks for serving God so faithfuly and for being such a wonderful teacher!!
Be blessed,
Laura
WOW!
I love those Mary Jane socks too, so much so that I just ordered a set for my friends new baby girl that is a week old today!
You have such a gift for communication. Thank you for delivering HIS word. There’s a lot for me to digest this week. Blessing to you and your family!!
It was an ABSOLUTELY amazing weekend, Beth!! God truly inhabited our praise and He ordained your words!! 1 Thes. 5:12-28 was on my heart Thursday morning and after talking to a girlfriend that was there also, she said the SAME (whew!) THING!! Girl, HE is AMAZING!! It so penetrated me where I was…very timely! Thank you for serving us by serving Him!! I love you!

Read Dr. Dobson’s “Love Must Be Tough”
I have been happily married 12 years, unfortunately I have been married for 32!
However, God has been more than faithful. He answers prayer. In His time. My husband reached a crisis point and turned his life back to the Lord.
He now attends church and we pray each morning before he goes to work. He even participates in a driving ministry at our church.
I continue to be stunned at the favor and mercy God has shown us.
He is deserving of all honor and praise.
“God can make a way when there seems to be no way.” that song never fails to bring tears of gratitude to my eyes.
My friend and I drove in from Gulf Breeze Florida to attend the New Orleans event and it was amazing! God sure does wonders through you girl! My ladies small group is on the middle of the Esther study at home and although I did not get touched on the head as others in the Esther videos had, I DID get to meet your sweet brother. On our way of of N.O. we went to the 10:30 service at Franklin Baptist Church. Of course we had nothing to wear but jeans and our Beth Moore conference t-shirts, but that did not matter to the magnificent folks at Franklin. We got there just before service was starting and it was jam packed. We were seated on the stage, IN the choir box! Can you just imagine!!?? Right across from us was your brother and his family so we were not completely out of place. It was phenomenal! We met him after services as well as the sweet, sweet pastor. What a wonderful way to start our journey home. Thank you for letting us know about such a spiritual place to worship!
Great camera Rich! Please share the model.
Beth,
I just wanted to let you know that you are on my mind and in my prayers. I just read Psalms 61, 63 and 65 and just felt they were so for you tonight!
Especially these verses from The Message:
Psalm 65:1-2
“Silence is praise to you, Zion-dwelling God,
And also obedience.
You hear the prayer in it all.”
Thank you, Beth, for your obedience to our Lord. Well done, good and faithful servant.
I just felt like you needed to hear that tonight.
And here’s a cyberhug, really tight. Praying for you, siesta…
I just watched Rich’s video. WOW it brought tears to my eyes. I think back to the hurricane that destroyed much of New Orleans. It just does my heart good to see the Lord EVER PRESENT there. “Jesus does indeed Save! Rich captured such a sweet and innocent picture of Carleigh. Thanks for sharing.
“Shoot Fire! This thing’s real!” loved it. the whole weekend….
It was an amazing event. I had a wonderful time in my home city of New Orleans. The teaching was right on track with what God has been showing me. Beth, you served us well!
