Esther Poll

Hi Siestas! Several people have suggested that we do Esther for our Siesta Summer Bible Study. I’ve added a poll to our sidebar to see how many of you have already taken it. Would you mind taking a second to give us your answer? The poll will expire in a few days.

Also, I’m excited to tell you that our LPM web site is getting a much needed makeover very soon. My hero, Curtis Jones, is working on that project. (Picture me looking very relieved.) And we have changes in the works for our blog, too. Yeah! Will you pray for us as we go through this process? I will speak for myself and say that I need God to make me much smarter than I am when it comes to all of this. Thanks, sisters! We want to serve you with excellence!

I am in the process of going through the Esther study right now with a great group of siestas, and it’s phenomenal! Because we’re already doing Esther right now, I do hope you choose a different study for the summer. I’m always wanting to drink in new and more spiritual truths, and no matter what you choose, it will be wondrous. We went through NOG last summer, and it was life-changing. Whether you pick one of your own studies or someone else’s for the summer study, I look forward to the immense value your leadership and insight will add.

I am doing Esther twice right now, and they say,”third time’s a charm?” I am not ready to be finished with this tough woman stuff and will need it the most in the summer with 4 boys out of school(teenagers no less)”killing me if I don’t kill them first!” (Is that a chiastic structure?:)

I am loving seeing all the ironies, hinge points, such a time as this cirsumstances in my life presently and in the past, anticipating future ones, knowing without a doubt, it is ALL God’s sovereign hand!

I would LOVE to be a part of the Esther study this summer!!! I have been teaching a newcomers class as part of our ladies’ Tuesday morning Bible studies and haven’t been able to be in Bible study this year.

I did sign up to take Esther in the evening for the current semester. But with the busy week, kiddos, and my husband’s new job working nights (Praise the Lord he has a job!!!), it didn’t happen. I started the workbook alone and got through lesson 3… but NEED the accountability and group to keep going!!!

I would love to do this study with you all this summer. I miss being in Bible study with “my best friend Beth”!!!!!!!!!!

Esther for our summer study would be amazing. BUT I agree with the Annon. comment someone else made; can you lead us through someone else’s study? it does help force me to branch out a bit.

I didn’t really click with the one last year, but I think the trying another author did stretch me and help me think.
Either way, the summer will be good because we will be looking at God.

We *could* try something completely new: let people write in to Beth with devotional pieces written about their memory verse and Beth could publish one or two each week on the blog. Possibly elaborate on them or expand them. Then we could discuss.

Oh my, Our Father is so wonderful and timeley! Just a month or two ago, I was telling our leader that it was on my heart to do Esther this summer. I would love to do it with all my siestas. What a glorious opportunity it would be to stay in the Word with my Lord.

I am doing the Esther study now. I have a recent 16 year who is a new driver and the fear has been almost unbearable. The verses and the video when Beth spoke directly to me about fear has helped me beyond words can explain. I love my daughter so much. Thanks so much for the timely study in Esther. The Bible is as revelent today as it was thousands of years ago. Love it!!! I get it!!!

Oh that sounds so wonderful. I signed up to do it at my church…went to the introduction, got my book and was ready to start. My Dad took a turn for the worse and I missed the first 4 weeks before God in his mercy took him home. I decided to wait for another chance rather than jump in that far into it. This would be the perfect chance! Please do it this summer! I get goose bumps just thinking about it!

I personally am hoping we dont do Esther for SSBS because I am currently doing it right now. Last year I couldn’t get anyone to do the SSBS and decided to feel sry for myself rather than do it alone. It wasn’t one of my better decisions so I had resolved to do it this summer, even if it meant solo….but, I’m not feeling doing the same b.s. twice back-to-back. However, I’m already working on my resolve not to pout if you do decide to go with Esther ๐Ÿ™‚

Our group just finished Esther this week. I was so hoping you would do another Summer Siesta Bible Study. Now I just hope you pick something besides Esther. Beth, as much as I enjoy your studies (and certainly wouldn’t mind doing another one!) I really liked how you picked something different last year. Broadens horizons a bit. Please consider doing that again this summer. However, I will pray that whatever you pick will fit the needs of the majority of the siestas! Keep up the great work!

Thank you for the poll on possibly having Esther as a Summer Siesta Bible Study.

I have taken Esther, but would look forward to hearing not only Beth Moores and the the staff of LPM input, but different women’s input from all over the country and even the world.

If I remember from last year’s Bible Study No other Gods by Kelly Minter, there were women from all 50 states signed up, there were bi-weekly videos from Beth Moore, homework (intense questions and answers from participants in the comments section), and videos from women around the country (to go along with the memory verse).

What a unique (once in a lifetime) fellowship experience to be able have with our fellow Siestas completing or revisiting the Esther Study!

    Hi Amanda:

I’ve newly discovered LPM (did Proverbs and Esther back to back). I’m sure you have thought of this, but I believe a Mother-Daughter bible study with you, your sister and your Mom about mothering, raising children, being raised by a praying mother would be very impactful. Beth spent a day on Wisdom for Mothers in the Proverbs study, and I’ve been pondering ever since how needed and encouraging a bible study for Mothers would be.

Just tossing it out! Thanks for all y’all do and how real you keep it.

As far as the website, I can’t wait to see what Mr. Jones has in store. My only request (who am I to be making requests?!) is that the archives still be available. I have many posts I’ve starred that I come back to and read for encouragement or reference.
