If she didn’t have a Bible study class to teach tonight, I know Bethie would be on here right now talking about how much fun she had meeting so many Siestas in Atlanta. (You almost got a post from her last night but she decided to cook dinner for us instead. Sorry, but it was really good!) She told me she had a blast and that all of you were hilarious. Thanks to Lisa/The Preacher’s Wife and my co-worker KMac for supplying pictures.
Miesta Moose made an appearance!
I’m now 17 days away from my due date, but who’s counting? It’s not like I’m getting impatient or anything! I had an ultrasound yesterday and Baby Girl looks great. Today I got my highlights done, so we are one step closer to being ready. Y’all, I went into the salon as prepared as possible. I didn’t take a pickle jar or a bottle of Sprite, but on this very spring-like day I did take a big jacket to tie around my waist if necessary. Thank you for that tip! The princess got a little excited while my hair was getting foiled and I was just praying she wouldn’t knock anything loose! I cannot think of worse timing than to have chemicals and aluminum in one’s hair when labor begins. I don’t want to scare my daughter when she sees me for the first time. I’d rather her first thought be that, indeed, she has a beautiful inhairitance. (Ps. 16:6, ESV) (That was for my mom, whose love language is speaking in puns.)
I need to get ready to pick up my boy from mother’s day out, but I have to share this real quick. Last night Curt was getting Jackson ready for bed and I overheard him ask if he’d ever seen an angel. Jackson said, “Yes.” Then Curt said, “Well, what did the angel look like?” Jackson said, “Mommy.” Is that not so precious? Don’t think VVPG didn’t almost start crying! Y’all have a great Tuesday!
I can’t begin to tell you how much fun it was this weekend! Thanks, Beth, for popping in and giving us all such a surprise! We were all a big ol’ bunch of happy cloggers, er, BLOGGERS! :o)
Love to you all and we missed you VVPG!
Melinda
Almost start crying!!? Were there enough tissues in the house. What a precious family you have. I get a healthy dose of wishing-I-was-there for all the events ya’ll do. But I am stuck on the West Coast. Darn!
I am really excited for you guys, and can’t wait till you post pics (but don’t feel obligated, we are lucky when you share your lives, you don’t have to.)
Tell Beth I am starting slow on my memorizing, but feeling lead to dive deeper into memorizing scripture and reading the bible; I also started Believing God the other night; really good.
I do have a question Beth; Which comes first, the Breaking Free or the Believing God?
Just wondering?
Blessings in Him of health, joy, peace and comfort (AJ)

Oh girl, the angel comment by Jackson is one you need to type up beautifully and frame because, me being one not to mince words or anything, one day you will need to remember these precious times when he is a moody, hormonal 13 year old boy who thinks he is smarter than his parents and that everything that you ask him to do is punishment! ๐ I’m just sayin’!
In all fairness, my 13 year old is an absolute gentleman and I love him with every ounce of my being. But if I told you that raising boys gets easier, I would be lyin’!
Loved the “inhairitance” remark. Very Living Proofish! ๐
Have a great day and are you really carrying around a pickle jar???? ๐
Blessings,
Dori
Awww… I’m not even a VVPG and I almost started crying!!! That is the SWEETEST!!! Love the inhairitance pun, too! I just realized I’ll get to hang out with the Moore girls in Heaven. Can’t believe I never thought of it before!
Have a sweet day ๐
Linda
How in the WORLD did anyone get to meet and take a picture with Bethmoore???? I searched for her. And I mean SEARCHED!!! Felt like a part of the paparazzi taking pictures of her from the audience. I SO wanted a picture. I was even hoping that maybe we’d run in to her at Dairy Queen or something after the concert!!!! So sad ๐
VVPG…we are so glad that you made it through your highlights without going into labor! Now, if you can just make it to your pedicure appointment and not have a splash down you will indeed be THE most gorgeous Mom on the delivery floor! ๐
Also! While we have your attention! Do not forget to take your cell phone, charger, camera, batteries, laptop and laptop cord! We MUST have pictures of Baby Girl ASAP! Got it!? Make sure Darling Hubby get the memo too!
LOL! ๐
Trace
P.S. I DID get a picture with Travis, though, so that made my day ๐
Hey VVPG, I’ll be praying for you and for Jackson too. The hardest part for me was always wondering how the “big kids” at home were doing without their momma, but so far, they’ve survived each time.
****SIESTAS!!****
I have a favor to ask!
One of my dear friends recently had to move 10 hours away from her home for her husband’s new job. It was a sudden and unexpected move–and she had been living happily in her house for 20+ years. She has 6 beautiful children, 4 that she is still homeschooling.
The favor is this:
She was hoping to start doing the new Esther study at her home church but the move obviously makes that a little difficult (read: impossible). But like the lovely trusting woman that she is, she bought herself an Esther book and has been praying to find a group of ladies to study with. So far, nothing.
She now lives in SAVAGE, MINNESOTA –yes, capitalized to catch your attention! (where, I might add, they know no one). So if you know of anyone in that area who is doing the Esther study, please contact me or leave another comment so I can let her know. Her sweet heart is just aching and I would so appreciate anyone who could help her feel more at home.
Thank you so much ladies!
AJ (Siesta OC) ~
I’m not Beth, but I’m thinkin’ that Believing God will enable you to BREAK FREE!!! Do ’em both, though… continual reinforcement just makes your FREEDOM IN CHRIST stronger.
hugs ~
Linda
Oh Amanda, how precious is that! What mama could not tear up!
Thank your Mom again for swingin by the fireside room and surprizing us like she did!
What sheer delight to have her drop in, encourage us even and dance a jig, uh…clog!

Amanda, praying that little “gal” always will love ya like crazy but not as much as God Himself.
Lovingly,
Yolanda
Fun Siesta group-!!!
It’s funny I was asking my kids if they’d ever seen an angel, but I was not mentioned in the conversation at all. ๐
Amanda, I just know your baby girl will come all in wonderful timing, i’m just sure of it-!
What a lovely Story – pre-schoolers really are the best! My little girl (just 3) is just beginning to ask questions about God and the bible, and it is such a privaledge to explain stuff to her! Also she likes to play a game where she is the mommy and I am the baby and it is moving beyond description to see how tender and loving she is to me, and to realise that is what she thinks of me!!!
Praying for you and your family as you wait for the birth of your little princess. Praying especially for Little Man Jackson,as it can sometimes be hard to have to start sharing your angel momma and Daddy.
Love the group pic. I oh so wish I could have been there, but heard they all had SUCH A BLAST! I am STILL dying to find out the details of the “clogging” Beth pictures floating around from this weekend. Would love to hear the story.
As for VVPG, girl hang in there, it will all be over soon. I have been thinking about you.
Much love,
Groovewoman
aaaaawww little boys say the cuties things.
Then they grow up to be big boys and we are still taken in my thier cute sayings.
They can be charmers.
17 days and counting. Enjoy, as you know it will go fast. only after it’s over and you look back. With each of mind I said the same thing. I’ll be like this forever. Next thing I know…. birthdays after birthdays after birthdays.
Praise The Lord.
Becky/Brentwood
How sweet! That made me cry! Ponder it in your heart!!
Blessings to you!
Awww…. that is too precious!! I’d have started bawling, too!
Oh my!!! Straight out of the mouth of babes!!! How precious!!! So wish I could of met all the siestas in Atlanta!!!! ๐ ๐
Awwww!!! How sweet is that? Hold on to those memories Amanda… Before you know it the smell will be there. I’m sorry, but I have to warn you, my little boys were so precious to me and still are, but when they hit a certain age the smell comes. I call it buffalo. They can’t help it, to be perfectly honest I don’t even think they can smell it. Their little faces are still sweet and you learn to deal with it. Lol! It does go away, eventually!
Lots of love and prayer!
Judy
That sounded like so much fun! That’s great that the Siestas could meet up!
That is so sweet that you were able to overhear that conversation and that your son said you look like an angel. I think I might have cried had I heard that from one of mine and I’m not even pregnant! That’s good that you made it out of the chemicals and foil without going into labor, that would’ve been something trying to get you unwrapped and rinsed before running to the hospital!
AWWWWW…the angel looked like Mommy!! precious times!
Hang in there Amanda!
What a good picture of all you Siestas.
I am coming to see Beth in El Paso, is there a Siesta get together scheduled, or any way to find out? I know for San Antonio there was a separate blog. Just curious.
Your salon story cracked me up – oh how I can relate! I did not make it a priority to get my roots done with my first so, in all the pics of me kissing her sweet face all I can see is roots! You better believe that kiddos 3-4 mama had her hair freshly done!
how precious!! be blessed these next few weeks. =)
First of all, I’m so sad I couldn’t have been in Atlanta with the Siestas! Great picture!!
I LOVE the “inhairitance”! So excited and happy for you VVPG!
Blessings
Michelle
That is so sweet that he thinks mommy is angel. I believe mommy’s are angels!! Love the pun! Marlo
Oh Amanda, You are so cute. Your gonna love a little baby girl. I too had a boy first then a girl. But back then we didn’t know what the sex was and my husband said you should have seen your face when she was born! Maybe she’ll turn out to love puns like Grandma. Just a word of caution…Grandma is gonna spoil her into princesshood. (I have 2 Granddaughters and know this from experience).
Blessings from above!
That is such a neat question to ask a toddler! And an even better answer. Good for Curtis to come up with it. Write that one in the baby (Jackson’s) book.
That is so sweet, VVPG! Hope your labor comes soon and that it goes well with you….
he he – love the pun! I may need it some day! And I’m so glad Jackson sees the angel that you are. If you’re like me, you wonder somedays if that what they really see when all I see is the ugly! But as my friend has told me, kids are the most forgiving! Beautiful pic, Lisa!!
Oh my word… I’m not pregnant and I’M crying. That is just too precious! Glad the siestas had such a fabulous time. I’m very jeal—- happy for you all! ๐ Also heard Travis just slammed it outta there…. Woohooooooo! Go, God!
Oh that is way cute! Bless you and your baby!!!!!!! peace
“inhairitance”…. bawahahahaha! gosh that made me laugh.
Personally…I was in complete shock when I saw your momma. I have so much to say to her so I’m kinda glad I didn’t get a chance to say something to her….I might have cried or I would have just been stupid. ๐
Your mom has been one amazing vessel in my life and I love her dearly. And, she’s just so stinkin cute and funny too. Jenny said its a good thing we can’t google outfits bc we would have been all over that coat!!!
Love everyone here at LPM and the blog community!
Baby Girl just knew you were relaxed…so she cut up a rug or two just to let you know that she is full of energy! ๐
Jacksons’s comment made me want to cry. How sweet is it when a child thinks his mommy is an angel? Breathe it in, Amanda. Let your mind be filled with that beautiful declaration.
Rebecca
now THAT is priceless.
*every time is see VVPG i think of racheal ray and EVOO. ha.
that is sooo sweet! i’m tearing up for you! little boys are the sweetest!
Amanda – You have no idea how disappointed I was that I was not able to go…. I had planned on going, but my daughter became ill, and there was no way I was going when she is sick. Sigh. I would have loved to meet Beth, Melissa, and Travis. Perhaps next time.
Adrienne
those baby boys are sweet. I have one myself ๐
Fun picture. And I am a big lover of puns, so the inhairitance comment was a highlight of your post!
BTW, when someone was raving on their blog about the fun time in Atlanta, I told them “Well, we had Amanda in Houston, so there!” LOL
Jackson’s comment was beyond precious. Be sure to remind him of that when he’s a teenager and he has a different opinion!
I look forward to reading the latest blogs and appreciate all of you sharing from the Moore’s to the siesta’s. It is a real sisterhood…and now we all await “our” new little sister baby. O Dear Lord God, We thank-you for the wonder of new life, the fun, the joy. As time draws near for the arrival of this precious life we thank-you for the great ultasound report. We place Amanda into your care as she delivers this wee one to our world and ask that all goes well. Our thoughts go to another delivery so long ago that brought us our Savior – what an important role you have entrusted to us. For Daddy, big brother, loving family we thank-you, Lord, this baby has a Godly inheritance. How great is our God. In Jesus name Amen
Jackson’s just calls it as he sees it ๐
I love your mom’s use of puns in her writing…she is gifted…
Blessings
That is precious…..
What did he say the angel looked like?
Someone once told me that the believed that the reason their baby stared off at what seemed like nothing so much was that she was still seeing her angel from heaven. I know there is no real proof of this but it IS a sweet thought!
Amanda,
I have been hoping and praying that your delivery and the days leading up to it are without, shall we say, unwelcomed events. I know you are so ready. Soon it will be but a memory.
Take care sweet girl.
Because of Him,
JoAnne
What a little man you have!! With a heart the size of Texas, no less…and the eyes to get what ever his big ol heart desires! He's going to be a great big brother.
Now that your highlights are fresh, that's one fear that's been taken care of before the princess' arrival! I think the jacket is a perfect solution, but make sure that if it's a warm day in Houston that it's just a windbreaker! I'll never forget when I was 4 months pregnant with my daughter we were living in No. Dakota (an Air Force assignment). In January I had to travel to Houston to be with my Dad when he had surgery. I left ND in 15 degrees BELOW zero temperature. By the time I got to Houston it was 35, which I realize is very cold for Texas! I went to the hospital to see my Dad with no jacket on and the nurses had a hissy fit! They told me I was harming my baby because it was too cold to be without warm clothes. I reminded them that it was 50 degrees warmer than where I was earlier that morning and I was HOT!!! Guess it's all relavant!
Beth, I'm glad you had a good time in GA and gave those Siestas a surprise visit. What a double blessing they got. Enjoy tonights study, I'll be praying for you and the ladies in attendance. I sure wish I had signed up for this one. It's a little over an hour drive to your church and I wasn't sure I could make all the classes so I didn't want to take a seat that someone else could fill every week. I'm sure it's worth the drive!
Gig'em & God Bless, Bobbie
Amanda, I am praying for you as you wait for date to see that precious baby girl.
Melissa, I saw you from afar at the concert. I wasn’t able to sit with the Southern Siestas at the concert–I am not as fast in my walk/run as they are. But, what a fantastic concert!
Beth, thanks for coming by and seeing us. I was so excited to be bending over with you (I’m on your right) to get our picture taken.
God really spoke when during your parts in the concert. So meaningful.
God has used you and your ministry so much to change my spiritual walk with our LORD. Thank you so much!
Sheryl Dean
That is so very sweet Amanda!
Thought you might be interested to know that the Stepping Up study, the Esther study and the Breaking Free study are all about to be on their way to Uraguay! I was able to get part of what they needed at a local Lifeway… and the rest should be coming in from a Lifeway in Memphis, TN tomorrow! Then, they will have their whole curriculum for a year! Isn’t that fabulous?
I love precious little boys. I have two. My three year-old told me the other day, “Mom you look like an angel,” as he was looking at my wedding picture. Can’t wait to meet your beautiful daughter.
Sunday was SO incredibly fun… Bethie clogging/river dancing, or whatever was classic. Dern I wish I’d had a video camera..:)
