Back at Hotel

Hey, Siestas! It’s nearly 10:00 PM Eastern time and I just got back to my hotel room. The group was wonderful. Thank you for praying! I wish so much I’d had more time to get to know them. I’m the slightest downcast because I threw too much into one night. I was really excited about the lesson but, as it turns out, it was better before I gave it. I hate when that happens. BUT, I love Jesus and I loved that gathering of people tonight in Burlington, Vermont, and I know He was there. I think I remedied the fact that we’d only be there for one session by doing three sessions of material in an hour and a half. Perhaps it was the time line I did from Genesis to Revelation that put us over the edge. Blast.

Still, God is faithful and His Word was spoken and He won’t let it return void. Keep praying for me! I need to adjust IMMEDIATELY to material that is suitable for one session and one setting. And pray for the precious people we will serve this week. We are so happy to be here!

I want to stop and pray for you right now, too.

My faithful Father, Maker of Heaven and Earth, Ruler of Land and Sea, I lift Your elect to You. I pray this week for You to grant them clarity in a very specific area where they are confused and not sure what to do next. As You said through Your prophet Ezekiel, You have put Your Spirit in them and You will MOVE them to follow Your will. Remind them that they are not stuck. Not without choices. Not without leadership. Whisper in each ear, “this is the way, walk ye in it.” Cause them – and me – to cease beating on doors that are closed and walk through the one that You Yourself left open even if it’s not our personal favorite Door #1. Bring confessions to their lips – and mine – of Your gracious providence and Your worthiness to be trusted and praised. Tend to their hearts. Where they feel battered and bruised but too busy to stop long enough to be healed, hem them in Your faithful hands, hold them still, and rejoice over them with singing. Tell them again how You love them. How You’ve called them. How You don’t make mistakes. Grant them – and me – spirits of wisdom and revelation that we may know You better and recognize You when we bump smack into Your Presence. And more than anything else, circumcise our hearts to love You and to love that frustrating person in our lives as we love ourselves. Teach us what the Apostle Paul meant when he told the Galatians that all that matters is faith expressing itself in love. We want to be Godly women, Lord. We cry out to You for help. We cry out to You for You.

In the saving, delivering, empowering Name of Jesus,
Amen

I’ll talk to you tomorrow, Siestas!

Oh, Beth. Oh, Beth! What in the world, I wonder, made you choose those particular words to pray for us? I am sitting in a hotel room on the complete opposite coast from you right now, (and far from my home) and am facing a monumentally huge decision – and I can’t hear God. Feel lost! Have no idea which way to turn. Afraid only of leaving His will, and not knowing what that is. Something made me check this blog before bed, and I absolutely shivered with gratitude, delight, thankfulness, and not a small amount of amazement as you, generous woman, poured yourself out tonight to a crowd, then came back to your hotel and poured your prayers out upon us. I humbly feel (and need) those words so, so personally. Thank you! I am not alone!

It is so sweet to be able to pray for you as you keep us updated so well. I was at “Stepping Up” tonight and we were discussing lesson 1 (we take 2 weeks for each week so we will watch the video next Monday). It is soo true that His word accomplishes exactly what He plans!

You are great and we love you!!!

Good night, good night far flies the light,
But still God’s love shall flame above,
    Making all bright,
Good night, good night. -Victor Hugo-

Beth – thank you for praying for me, for us. I heard it in your voice as I read it.

I will pray that you will be able to condense your material as you say you need to, and I know it is ALL going to be MARVELOUS.

Have a great trip and I know you will have a blast because you don’t waste a moment and will continue to have so much fun.

Thank you also for asking our Father to tend to our hearts and hem us in and hold us still. Powerful – blessed to be included in that prayer.

My greatest desire is to be a Godly woman, and I’m praying for the opportunity to live that out today.

    Love to you,

    Oh Beth-
Sometimes God calls us to cram and prepare! Our nation is in a desperate season and I believe God gave a good word tonight thru you! What He gives out He also gives the grace to digest… may your excitement, your enthusiasm, the entheos you so amazingly live in overwhelm the hearts of these women and may the Holy Spirit give a divine download so they can catch up and have the gaps filled in!
Divine Downloads sister… that’s the word!
    Love you

Beth, I’m sure you did fine. So…people went home with a doggie bag, better that than going home hungry. I know when I attend conferences I want all I can get out of it and many tines I’m starving for more. You listen to the Lord and hear from Him – don’t be so hard on yourself. Most there needed exactly all that you gave…and the others…maybe just spectators who now have an insatiable desire to dig in deeper themselves and figure out what it is all about.
You bring His Word in such a unique fashion…it’s what sets you apart…as long as it was His word, the people will get it and flourish from it.

Oh, my goodness. Your prayer just hit me right in the heart. I know the Spirit led you to pray that particular prayer over us, but this particular sister was just sitting here a moment ago with my hand over my mouth, awestruck at how perfectly tailored that prayer was to my particular situation.

God uses you in mighty ways, Beth, and I am so thankful. I am also so thankful to you that you continually make yourself a vessel for His use and pour out so much for countless women every single day.

In your Believing God study you talk about how Kay Arthur approached you during one day while speaking to a large group, pointed at you, looked you straight in the eye, and gave you a direct word from God. That is exactly how I’m feeling right now. Praise Him for His unending faithfulness and unfailing providence and love in all situations!!!

Thank you, Beth. You will be strongly in my prayers as you travel and encourage multitudes of women just as you’ve encouraged me. I second what Melanie said… it was exactly, and I mean exactly, what I needed to hear. Its scares me a bit to know that God isn’t going to let me sit idle, but I trust that He will take me exactly where I need to go.

Much love and many prayers. Wish I was catching you when you come to PA!!!

And I’m glad to know that you sometimes feel downcast after a message too. I did one of those last week–it was definitely better before I gave it too!

Praying for you as you prune for tonight–and for God to make the clock stand still–like he did for the sun–if necessary so you can get it all in!

Good Morning Beth….I’m a day behind so I am just looking at yesterdays blog and reading the prayer. I immdediatly began to cry as I read the words “stuck” because I have been crying out to the Lord that I am stuck, not seeing a direction to go or feeling His push in any direction. Just sitting like a bump on a log. God was certainly speaking to me today. It is joy unspeakable that such a great God wants to speak directly to me. So overwhelming, so humbling.

    Thank you Beth…..

    Mary Watkins says:

Hey, Beth! You know without a doubt your Siestas are praying. I am confident the Lord will help you make those IMMEDIATE changes.

“When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak whatever He hears. He will also declare to you what is to come.” John 16:13

    He will guide you.

I loved how you were thinking out loud about how you thought the night in Burlington went. How you wished there was more time to get to know them.

May I share what I have experienced every time I have heard you speak? Whether my stadium seat was on the front row or in the nose-bleed section, God has spoken directly to my heart with a life-changing message. Only God can do that.

As you said, God is faithful and His word will not return void.

Thank you for praying over us, your siestas.

Everytime you come to my mind I will pray for you and the team.

Looking forward to hearing from you tonight. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Love ya,

Thank you, Mama Beth, for the way you are serving the Lord and speaking His words to us! As I was reading yesterday’s post this morning, tears were running down my face reading your prayer for us-it feels so good to know we are being prayed for- and we are praying for you too! We are in the midst with a BATTLE with our 15year old daughter- and you put into words a prayer that applies directly to our situation today- I need the Lord to show me THIS is the way- now walk in it! I can’t tell you how timely this blog has been to me countless times- I have a lot of the posts printed out and saved for re-reading! I love you Siesta Mama! Becky

    Dear Beth,
I read your prayer and cried all the way through it and thought how God knew exactly what I needed to hear, but obviously there were many of us that needed that exact prayer – how much better can God be?!!
Thank you so much for opening yourself up to Him and allowing God to work through you for your sisters in Christ.
Fall is my most favorite time of the year – I’m a little jealous of you since I would love to be in New England to see God’s beautiful handiwork. But still blessed to be in North Carolina – it’s beautiful here, too.

    Mama Beth,

Thank you for checking in with us and letting us know how it went! Though you are a little downcast, I pray that God would bless you with refreshment and peace! The words you spoke touched many…I promise! There has never been a time that you have taught God’s Word (at least that I have heard!) that it returned void- It was meant for at least one! And times that the material is a lot- Well, it makes us rise up and stretch our minds! Praise You Jesus:)

Praying for a continual outpouring of His spirit and presence on You this week! We love hearing from you!

    Much love to you!!!!

    HIS Daughter says:

    Dear Precious Beth,

Just as you spoke to my heart in Washington D.C. in 2007 – “With unveiled faces show forth HIS glory” —- that is what you do everytime you teach and tell women everywhere that GOD makes no mistakes. HE made all of HIS chosen daughters for HIS glory.

I was listening to John Piper and Frances Chan on the 2007 Passion podcast yesterday and Frances said something totally precious about you.

I can’t remember his exact words but it was something like, “When Beth stands up here and says, I love y’all, you know she means it!”

Women know who is fake and who is real and GOD’s glory shows through you and HIS love for HIS daughters to know we were made for HIM and by HIM for HIS glory!

Keep ringing the bell, Girlfriend…You are prayed for and loved!

Thank you, Beth, for the prayer. I think God asked you to pray it on my behalf! For financial reasons, we’ve been trying to sell our house for the past two years, to no avail. One friend recently sold their house in less than 2 weeks, and another in 6 days! I can’t help but be frustrated that God may have a different plan for our house, and I feel like maybe I haven’t been listening to Him, or hearing His specific plan for our financial situation. We’re so confused, and are so frustrated that we just want to take the house off the market.

When I read the prayer, I inserted my name, and I know, that I know, that I know, without a shadow of a doubt that He loves me, has a plan for me, but sometimes it just gets so dang hard.

Thank you for being used, once again, by a Mighty God!!

I have been struggling with knowing what to do, and I was reading Max Lucado's "Facing you Giants" last night, and he writes about listening for and following God's voice… He gives the same message as you did here:

Whisper in each ear, "this is the way, walk ye in it."

Oh…thank you for that prayer! You have no idea how those words directly affect my life today. I watched you on video last night and you made a comment about how no matter what state we are in, God causes fruit to grow from out lives if we are connected to Him. I see that just between your relationship with us…you don’t know each one of us personally but God is continuing to use your words and growing fruit from them. As he did last night in your session. Never apologize for sharing too little or too much! You just never know that what you shared isn’t just what someone needs.

I just finished watching Life Today — Part 3 of the Offenses that Devastate series. Your story of being at the graveside of your parents was EXACTLY what I needed to hear this morning. I won’t share why here because sometimes those things are best left my heart and His, but it was FOR ME today.

Go with boldness into that next speaking engagement in Vermont or New Hampshire and you speak His Words, sister!

Beth, I’ve been reading your blog for some time now, and rarely do I post. But there is something I want to share with you now.

My sweet mother-in-law, Ladrene Edwards (58), went home to be with the Lord a few weeks ago. She had knee replacement surgery and then the next morning, while still in the hospital, a blood clot moved to her lungs. There was nothing they could do.

I’m telling you this because she was the director of the Ladies Ministry at her church. For years and years, she has facilitated Beth Moore Bible studies. She even purchased the DVD studies on her own, because the church could not. She was in the middle of “Stepping Up”. I cannot begin to tell you how much she loved your studies and how she desired to learn more about her precious Lord. Now she knows more than you:)

We miss her terribly, but are so grateful that we will see her again. Thank you so much for the influence you had on her life, which, in turn, influenced mine.

    Anticipating Heaven,
    Amy Edwards
