Prayer Request for Bible Study

Hi ladies! I wanted to let you all know what a big night this is for your LPM siestas so you can be praying. We are kicking off “LIT,” which is our fall Bible study series. (Registration is closed.) My mom and Melissa are co-teaching a class of about 150 18-25-year-old ladies and it will begin tonight. Next Tuesday Curtis will kick off his ungraded class for men and women. We are so excited! Please pray for Beth and Melissa as they begin their class tonight. Please also pray for the young ladies who will join us this fall. Our Bible study coordinator is Jennifer Hamm, in case you want to lift her up by name. She is awesome and works so hard! Okay, gotta run. I have to leave the house in 15 minutes and I’m not even close to being ready! Story of my life. Thanks, sisters!

    HIS Child says:

Praise you Lord for the way you knit us all together. You are an amazing God. Bless your servants Lord as they bring your Holy Word to this generation, and let it speak personally to each daughter as she knows that you are for her Lord. What a wonderful time it will be, as You Lord are celebrated.
Continue your blessings on all who labor behind the scenes as they feel your presence so mighty upon them.
    Thank you Father God.

Yay – so glad you’re targeting this age group. Can you imagine what will happen in the lives of these young ladies when they have a passion ignited for Jesus through His Word? I’m going to be praying that their hearts would be “lit” and would “burn within them” just like the two disciples on the road to Emmaus who had a fresh encounter with Jesus in the midst of their despair (esp. vs. 23of Lk. 24)

Get the lighter fluid, Beth and Melissa – blaze away!

    Dear Lord,

Thank you for your new mercies every morning. As I have learned more about Your own heart and love for each of us, the desire to live with You every minute is rejoicing! Lord, you have many desciples out there for you, and in particular, Beth Moore, Melissa, Curtis and Amanda. Please bless them the Peace and joy of knowing You are speaking through them for Your Kingdom. Lord, you have shown to me over and over, that there are no limitations through You, but Your Almighty spiritual gifts. Help them to use their spirital gifts that you have blessed them like never before. Many women and men are hungry, and don’t know where to find their fulfillment. Through You, during their devine appointments, may these individuals open their eyes, ears, and mouths so they may see, taste, and hear of Your Daily Bread and well-spring of life!

    Proverbs 4:20-23

    Forever, I love you!
    Amen.

Speaking of Bible Study, I want to let you know that my group FINALLY finished the NOG study. We weren’t able to complete the roll call on August 12th because we weren’t close to the finish line yet. But as they say…better late than never. Please add 4 gals from Loveland, CO to the list of people who LOVED and FINISHED the study this summer just in time to start Jesus the Beloved Disciple at our church! Love and Blessings to you.

    Little Momma:)

I knew it was starting soon, but not sure when exactly, thanks for telling us. I will definitely pray for this class-that these young women would catch a love for Him and a tenacious fervor for learning more of His Word, starting with the fundamentals. I would love to see my generation be a people after His own heart; a generation that seeks His face, and requires Him as a vital necessity.

    Melissa in AR says:

Hi, Siestas! I just had to share my joy with all of you about fall Bible study! I have never been more excited about it than I am at this moment–heck, I’m downright giddy!

I began teaching Beth’s Stepping Up study last night at my church. Of the 40 (!) women who signed up, 34 came AND 5 came who didn’t sign up AND I have heard of more who are coming!! Although my church is large, that is an exceptionally large group for Bible study, especially on a Wednesday night when there are other activities going on. I was just about thrilled to tears, and I absolutely cannot wait to see the mighty work that our mighty God is going to do in the lives of these women!

By the way, Beth, we watched the introductory session last night, and one of the women sent me an e-mail afterward saying this: “When I got home tonight, I ran warm bath water, sat on the edge of the tub, and soaked my feet while I did my homework!” I thought Beth’s idea was too good to pass up.

    Don’t you love it?!
