I’ll Be The One That Looks Like Your Siesta Mama

Hey, Girlfriends! My suitcase is packed (if I can keep two rambunctious puppies from unpacking it) and I’ll be up early in the morning heading to Louisville, Kentucky with my Bible and my hairspray. I’ve been blown away by how many of you have said you were attending the event via simulcast this weekend. (A few of you asked if it will be the same material that I will teach in San Antonio and the answer is no. Two completely different things.) I will think of you so often as I teach this weekend and you can always rest assured you are teacher’s pets. (I bet it wouldn’t surprise you to know how much I tried to be the teacher’s pet growing up. I would have annoyed the heck out of some of you. I just flat love the classroom.) There are 714 churches participating in the simulcast so I don’t have to tell you how much I, the LifeWay team, Trav and the praise team and every site and participant needs the covering of prayer. The list of requests is too long and too technical. Only God is big enough to pull this off this weekend. Pray Him all over us. Pray for wonders. Pray for the Jesus Show.

If AJ were writing this entry, she’d put the link to the simulcast locations in case a few of you still wanted to hop aboard but, alas, I don’t know how. But I do know that LifeWay is putting it on if that helps. Grin. BTW, Amanda and Jackson and Little Fig made it to Tulsa today on a Southwest airplane without either one having a meltdown or grabbing a barf-bag. Curtis has to stay and teach a camp after they visit his parents so he had to drive his car and meet them there. All met up as planned but I’m sure they are exhausted. Curt has the neatest parents. They built their own home on a beautiful little stretch of hill country and even have their own horse. That’s Heaven on Earth to my girl. They will have a blast.

Back to the simulcast (sorry, I have a little A.D.D. tonight), I’ll sure be looking for some of you this weekend and, if you’re looking for me, I’ll be the one that looks like your Siesta Mama. Now, stay in the Word, young ladies.

Love you like crazy.

OK, the dogs just ran off with something from my suitcase. Blast. It better not be my coffee. What if it’s my root lifter?? Gotta go!

Tonight was my first simulcast experience, and ooooh my goodness!! Ms. Beth, that was so AMAZING!! I didn't want it to end, I could have stayed there all night. I cannot wait till tomorrow. I think I'm too excited to sleep. I told our friend that invited us to the simulcast that ever since I found out you do conferences, I had wanted so much to go to one…whether live or simulcast. Never dreamed I'd get the chance to. ๐Ÿ™‚ Reminds me of what you said in one of the days of "Breaking Free" that I was working on this week…about how God wants to surpass our dreams ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you so much for everything you do for us!

P.S. Your hair looks so good!! And I loved the picture of the puppies, and the story about them.

Can I just say, that though our group is small in Marshfield, WI it is incredible to be involved via the simulcast.
thanks for the greeting Beth to all the blogging siestas! I am totally loving your message, and how strongly God is speaking… I am hiding His word in my heart, and I won’t let it go!

I am being called by God to live a life that yields a harvest 100x more than the normal yield. I am a woman of substance, of means, and have God’s call on my life to impact His world.
I don’t know what that looks like, maybe I already am having that impact… maybe I am already using the gifts I have doubted, for so long… things I had allowed myself to be talked out of.

All I know is that God is using you Beth for His glory. Just in the few hours tonight, He had met me in a huge way, and I know that He is meeting the thousands of others joining you from all 715 sites.
I am praying that God will continue to guide your every word, and use you as His vessel for the rest of the weekend… may you be blessed as well, may He speak to you as profoundly as He is speaking to all of us.

    God bless you Beth,
    Heather

The simulcast to ClearView in Nashville was great tonight. I knew that I needed His Word, just never quite correlated that he would BREATHE new life into me tonight. CPR – Christ’s practical revelation, Christ’s precious redemption!
Praying for you-what a privilege it is to catch a glimpse of heavenly fellowship.

    Dear Beth,

Last night I learned I’m all those people in the parable. In many areas God has prepared my soil and there has been wonderful soil to plan a garden in.

In other areas, Satan or my pride grabs the seed before it gets a chance. But I’m also sure God keeps coming by those patches of ground and there is so much hope for my garden to grow.

Thanks for what your sharing this weekend.

“competantly competant” will be a thought I hold onto as I journey into new ministry territory! ๐Ÿ™‚

We will be coming to New Hampshire by bus in October (47 of us!) but we are praying that between now and then that there will be a 100 fold harvest of God’s Word in our lives.

Thank you for the WORD you brought us this weekend. What a awesome experience!

    Dearest Beth,

Wow!!! I am in Sarasota, FL and we did the simulcast with ya’ll and it blew me away!!! It always blesses my socks, or should I say flip flops, off when I get a chance to hear the Lord speak thru you. I was thinking of my 2 daughters thru the whole teachings and on Sat. I was to have lunch with the oldest. I was prepared to share with her all that I learned, when that darn devil “snatched the Word away”!!! A friend of hers went into labor and we didn’t get to have lunch. I was saddened by this but I will persevere and the Lord will grab her heart back where it belongs.

Thank you so much for you and your team. What an absolute blessing!! Never heard Travis before……..wow!!!!!!!!! Got to get a cd!

    God bless you richly,

    Dear, Sweet Beth:

It was so great to see you via simulcast this weekend — way up in White Bear Lake (St. Paul), MN. When the simulcast froze at the end of the last song and then went blank, it was like that moment when you watch a dear friend or loved one turn the corner and vanish from sight to get on a plane after a visit filled with laughter, fellowship, and fun. It was indeed a pleasure and blessing to be with you this weekend, but I miss you already. [And if I might say so: You brought it Girl! The Lord brought it. He is faithful and good.]

Enjoy your rest. Enjoy your family. And enjoy those darling puppies!

Much love to you and the LPM team (with my hand over my heart),

P.S.: If you get a chance, would you post the picture of the little ladies you showed at the conference; my husband needs to see it! : )

I just wanted to thank you SO very much for making everyone at the simulcast locations feel like they were sitting right there in that same room in “Luavul”!
Travis Cottrell and the praise team were such a blessing to listen to and worship with. I am so glad that I was able to go…many things came up to keep me sidetracked from coming (a trip to Charleston which I’ve been dying to go there, baseball games, a ladies’ movie night and several other things).
God has truly spoken to me about some things I need to change and I’m glad I didn’t miss this wonderful opportunity to grow closer to Him and learn more about Him.

Oh, Beth. You crack me up! Who’s the second puppy? I supposed you introduced it in the video for the study which I obviously hasn’t watched yet. I was on vacation this week so we’re doing the study this Tuesday. I don’t know if we’ll go ahead and do the next week during the normal week or if we’ll go ahead and do that one late too. It’s getting awfully close to school starting again for me to wait until the next week for a bible study in my home. It will probably be exploding with school supplies that need to leave my house very soon! They’ve already bought some new school clothes (with my money of course and boy am I feeling it) and my girls take after me. They couldn’t wait for school to start to wear their new clothes. Jeremiah couldn’t care less. They’re just clothes to him, but of course my girls got some adorable new dresses and my husband praised me for the unbelievable deals I found on actually cute clothes. Not clothes that are on sale cause they’re so ugly no one in their right mind would buy them. Or apparently in their crazy mind either since obviously I wouldn’t buy them either.

Thank you Beth. What do you say when thank you just isn’t enough?

To be competantly competant….that hit me the most! I so want that. And I want to treasure the wonder of the Word more…Thank you sweet mama. I love you! Wish that I could hug your precious little neck!!!

The praise music was PHENOM !
The satellite transmission was AWESOME, and we only bounced a time of two.

What a blessing to get to “sit” on my home pew pad while watching you get out of the way and hearing God speak the truth through your voice. Thank you for sharing so personally as you sat on the step in your beautiful red jacket…I felt like I was talking to a girlfriend.
‘Cause you’re rght, we each have a “story of sin” to share in our world to show where God met us and made our garbage in the valley, with all the stench, into a moutaintop of witness, where the aroma of His Spirit washes away the stench and becomes a beacon of His Light.

May God bless you in your obedience to your calling and teaching. May he grow your sweet fig into a healthy bundle for Granny to cuddle.

Your love, “Beth”, has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, “SISTER”, have refreshed the hearts of the saints.

I was at the simulcast in Bay Village, OH….FABulous time, girlfriend. Totally blessed!
I had my thyroid removed in an “emergency” type situation on Tuesday but told them they had to get me to church on time on Friday and they did just that! (God handled the surgery schedule so I could get there!!) I saw Jesus’ Hand all over my experience at the Cleveland Clinic…praise Him!
A girl has priorities and other than my hair and makeup, getting to your simulcast topped my appt. with surgery….and by the way, the most horrifying part of the surgery was them telling me I had to show up with NO MAKEUP and NO hairspray. Yikes! I didn’t even recognbize myself that morning! And as soon as I got to my hospital room after recovery room, that makeup bag was out and that makeup on, Honey!

I love the part about the “dirt,” cause I have been in bondage for so long, that is exactly what satan has been doing, “bringing up my dirt” (shame) and I am exhilarated to know that because God pours His spirit all over my dirt, it becomes fertile soil to plant God’s Word into and then can take root!!!!!

I was at the Washington D.C. commission a year ago when you spoke at the Women of Faith pre-conference. When God told me I had a ministry and not to lose heart in that ministry. Here I am a year later and I just cranked our my final exam and thesis for the Associates in Christian Studies Friday before the simulcast started. All Glory to God! One hundred fold. I left the simulcast and I still have my hand over my heart. I started my Bachelor’s when I got home. My husband laughed at me when I got home cuz I stopped at the bookstore on the way home. He told me I need B.A.. I asked him what that was he said, “Books Anonymous.” So now along with the Jesus pocket protector he claims I have (I claim it happily) he innsinuates I have to start a 12 step program over my book fettish. Hey Beth… I can’t tell you how grateful I am to you and Travis and the praise team and everyone at Lifeway (and everyone else) for making this event/simulcast happen…

I have been struggling for a while now and the struggle to live has become harder and harder… I’m a Christian, but I’ve been caught in cycles of sin that started when I was a young child (much like your testimony…) Just yesterday afternoon, a few hours before the simulcast, I “fell” again and consequently, I was googling the “how to’s” of a quick and painless suicide b/c I felt so hopeless… I had been planning on attending the Simulcast since you first mentioned it on the blog, so I was still looking forward to going… I was so hoping/expecting to hear from God… I can’t tell you how much I just needed to hear from Him, to KNOW that it was HIM speaking to me, and not just me trying to contrive it somehow… and He was faithful. He did speak to me… in many different ways… From Travis’s “Try Living” talk… to singing the chorus over 10x of “Till He returns or calls me home, Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand”… to the times you looked in the camera and said some young woman needs to hear this… (I’m sure there were many more in the 70,000+, but I was one of them…) plus many many more ways…

I can’t tell you that I’m not still struggling with thoughts of suicide (and I have reached out for help, in case you’re wondering), but I’m trying to guard the Word that was planted and persevere…

Sorry this is so long, but I thought you’d like to know a tiny bit of my story…

Love you, Beth. I’m so grateful for your life.

This woman had such a sweet love for God. She prayed with many. It was such a blessing as our group talked with her and she shared her testimony.

We all left the conference with a full heart. The music was awesome too!!!

Get some rest Ms.Beth you deserve it.

    In His Love,
    Melissa

This w/e I attended the simulcast at my home church in Wilmington NC (approx. 100 ladies & 1 brave husband). What can be said? Wow! Thank you Ms. Beth for being God's willing vessel. I desire to be passionate about our Jesus. The visual of protecting God's word in my heart is much needed. My hand will be laying across my heart & I will declare that this is my Word and No satan cannot have it. Thank you for the reminder that God has taken our dirt and turned it into good, rich fruit bearing soil with deep roots.
Travis & the team were awesome, wonderful, powerful.
I am a woman of substance and means, competently competent.

    Hi from Lutz, Florida!
Only our AWESOME GOD could unite together as if we were in one place 70,000 people from 715 places around the United States and four other countries. Seriously, Beth, as I prayed for you this morning it didn’t even occur to me that you were in another state. I just thought you were in a hotel across town and that I’d be seeing you in a few hours. As always, thank you for your perseverence in ministry and for daily pouring out your life as a drink offering. It is my joy to serve you and the Living Proof staff by praying and I thank my God upon every remembrance of you.
    Blessings to you and yours,
    Patti Hayes
PS: I won’t be able to be in San Antonio for the Siesta Fiesta, but my heart and my prayers will be there.

    Hey Siesta Mama!

You blessed me to no end this weekend. I was at a simulcast in Vancouver, WA. I just wanted to take a moment and thank you from the bottom of my heart for the final session. When you shared how much bondage you and Keith were in and that you didn’t pass it to your daughters . . . . . you gave me so much hope I nearly jumped to my feet in praise. I know God was speaking to me. My husband and I have our share of baggage, but we are both dealing with it in a healthy way. We’re getting healed. But Satan had me trapped in the pit of thinking our kids didn’t stand a chance with us as parents. He is going to be very sorry he messed with me on this one from now on. I. AM. BELIEVING. A. MIRACLE. FOR. MY. FAMILY. By His grace and His blood, my children will be better than their parents.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I know you said you loved me today . . . . and I love you right back!

By the way . . . I was typing that last post one handed. The other hand up in the air praising my God and believing Him for the miracle.
