Here are the username and password so y’all can see Rich’s pictures until we get the slideshow up and running. Thanks!

Rich just sent me this panoramic he made of all the Siestas together.

Hi Siestas!
I have a couple of links for you today. First, for those of you who attended the Siesta Fiesta, go here to download the group pictures that Rich Kalonick took for us. They are full resolution and printable. Use the username and password you were given on Saturday and make sure they are typed in lowercase letters.

Second, if you have written a Siesta Fiesta recap on your blog, you can put a link to your post on the LifeWay All Access Blog or on Kim and Patty’s Siesta Fiesta Blog. It’s been really neat to read all the posts about the weekend and see pictures.

I honestly don’t know where to begin when it comes to my own recap of our big weekend together. I could not have imagined how fun it was going to be to meet all of you in person. What a thrill! I left with a big smile on my face and an ache in my heart for MORE TIME.

So here’s my play-by-play. Mom and I flew into San Antonio and immediately met up with Melissa. We went to lunch at J. Alexander’s at the Alamo Quarry Market (such a neat place!). After that, Rich and Ron drove us to the Alamodome for Mom’s sound check and prayer time over the arena. When we walked in the dome, I honestly got dizzy and nearly fell over because of how massive the place was. Luckily the team had set up the event in one end of the dome and because of some giant curtains, it seemed like the appropriate size. I can’t even imagine that place filled to capacity.

A few minutes later we checked into our hotel room. We happened to run into Melanie/Big Mama while we were unloading the car. She is so much fun. We had a little problem with my mom’s room because, hello, the people wouldn’t check out of her room! (And it was well past checkout time.) So she had to hang out with Melissa and me for a while. This was not a good thing because she needed some solitude to prepare for that night. Melissa needed a nap (having not slept at all the night before), so I called Melanie and asked if I could come hang out in her room for a while. We got to chat for a while about everything from how potty training is the great equalizer to her husband’s and my dad’s love of Texas Trophy Hunters magazine. I enjoyed it so much.

Then it was time to get ready and head over to the Siesta Fiesta check-in! It was so exciting to walk up and see everyone in action. I got to meet Patty, whom I have corresponded with for about six years, for the very first time. How fun! I loved getting to meet so many Siestas as they checked in. What a joy to connect a face with a screen name! It seemed like just the blink of an eye before I was whisked away to dinner. Y’all know Pregnant Girl can’t skip a meal. I have to feed the fig/lemon/Nutter Butter/apple/baby!

The conference began at 7:00. I have to say that the praise team was so anointed the entire weekend. Wow. I asked Travis at the end of the conference, “If y’all can sing like that, what must God sound like when He sings?” They led us right to the throne to worship the Lord.

Mom taught on the theme of Inheritance. There are so many things she said that I can’t stop thinking about. It was a feast of the Word and personally, I left the conference feeling so loved by God.

After the third session concluded, our family got to have a very quick lunch and prepare to meet with our Siestas. The Alamodome catering staff served us THE best quesadillas I’ve ever had in my life. Seriously. What is sad is that I can never go to a restaurant and find these quesadillas again. Travis was sitting next to me while I went on and on about their goodness and he said, “I am witnessing a blogable moment right now.” Truly. Travis, I hope I did not disappoint.

The clock struck one before we knew it and it was time to begin! We went out into the arena floor where the Siestas had already gathered. They were arranged in smallish groups and Mom, Melissa and I just jumped in to each one while Rich did his magic with the camera.

For the rest of the time, the Siestas sat in a section of seats and Mom, Melissa and I sat on three chairs on a platform. We gave away some door prizes and in the process met a Siesta who had flown in from Tokyo(!!!), a Siesta who had been married 58 years, a Siesta with eleven children, a Siesta with my same due date, a Siesta who got engaged on Thursday night to a great guy on the Event Team, two Siestas who had road-tripped from Wyoming with “Miesta Moose,” a newlywed Siesta, and several Siestas who celebrated birthdays that weekend. We also got to meet three Siestas whose hard work, creativity, and leadership made the weekend all that it could be. We spent the rest of our time doing a Q&A session. I don’t know what it was like to listen to from the Siestas’ end, but we had a lot of fun doing it. And I will always remember that Baby Jones #2 received his or her first gift at the Siesta Fiesta. It is a very soft and very precious blanket with little giraffes on the four corners. It is monogrammed to say, “Shh… I’m taking a Siesta.” How fun is that? I will treasure it forever.

Before we knew it, our time was up. We had to get in the minivan and head to the airport. The Four Original Moores talked all the way home about the great weekend God had given us. He was so faithful! Thank You, Lord!

Huge thanks to our ministry director Sabrina and to all of our co-workers who helped us through the registration process amidst my transition to working part time. Thanks to everyone at LifeWay who put many extra hours of work into planning and executing the Siesta Fiesta. You girls (and guys) were incredible. Thanks to Holly for making the amazing cookbooks that contain tons of recipes from this blog and that will help drill a water well through Life Outreach International. Last but certainly not least, thank you, thank you, thank you to Kim and Patty and their team of volunteers who did everything in their power to help the Siestas make the most of their weekend together. T-shirts, tote bags, lunch, a riverboat cruise, sign-in, name tags, the pajama party…oh my word! We Siestas are so blessed by you! We appreciate the untold hours of planning, work, and prayer you invested in our weekend.

And thank YOU, Siestas near and far, those we’ve met and those we haven’t yet, for enriching our lives so much. We love all of you to pieces!

P.S. I just spoke to my mom and she sends all her love. She says she keeps picturing your sweet faces!

    Amanda,
After all these years it was so much fun to meet you. I so wish that we could have taken a picture with each other but registration was so busy. :))

I echo what Holly said, we talked about going to the spa together when I visit her in Colorado!!

Fran was my traveling buddy with Georgia and we laughed so much that I believe some people on our plane wanted us thrown off. LOL

The connections made by so many will stay with me forever.

Siestas, I loved meeting you and hugging you and taking pictures with ya’ll and I MISS YOU ALL!!!!

We have a mascot now, Miesta Moose, thank you Melana!!!!

What a fun weekend!!! I truly had a blast. Thank you for taking the time to bless us on Saturday with a bit of personal interaction. I have to download all the photos and combine them with mine to make a little mini-book, including the 8 key points made at the conference. I do not want this special memory to be forgotten. Off to do some scrapping then! Thanks again!

    Amanda,

I think your 36 hours in San Antonio were about as packed as ours were! But how wonderful our time was….a weekend I will never forget!!!

Thank you for your sweet spirit, for your generosity (which was exemplified in the giving of the many gifts!), and for your love for the Lord. What an awesome testimony that God did choose your whole family for the ministry.

Many blessings to you, my friend, for the many ways you are a blessing to us siestas!

It was so fun “meeting” you three in person! And what a wonderful conference. I was there with my mom, and since we both grew up with a very legalistic church, that was no small miracle! That giraffe blanket is TOO cute. πŸ™‚

Oh Siesta! I have to admit, I cried selfish pity party tears all weekend because I couldn’t be with the siestas! But I am happy to say, it did not interfere with me praying that God would bless each encounter and give you, Melissa and your Mom a sense how loved and appreciated you are! God is good. I hope I’ll see you all next year.

    Mom of Eleven says:

Well I must say, “Amanda, your recap was great girl!” Thanks for all the hard work you and so many others have put it to make this all happen. Emmy and I had been planning this trip for a year, and we cracked up at the women sitting in our section that said, “what is a siesta blogger?” We graciously explained and invited them to join us in blog-land!! Our friends Joni(joni’s joy) and Mandy (georgia mother-whose name growing up was Amanda Moore and her sister is Melissa), anyway, they joined us and we all had a blast. I love that God has blessed me with such special friends and I feel so blessed to have been able to attend.

We loved the Siesta “time” at the end of the event. I know you all had to be exhausted, espcially you Mrs. Beth, but thank you for taking that extra time with us. It so encouraged me that the sacrifices I feel I make for my children(since we have soooo many) will be worth it. When we do Kingdom Work sacrifices come with the territory. I know Beth you must have prayed to the Lord so many times that one day He would give your girls the heart and eyes to see His glory and get it. I love that you both (A and M) explained that you knew it was for God’s glory.

I cannot even wrap my brain around Psalm 16 yet. As I sat on my front porch this morning enjoying coffee and reading it over and over, I just wanted to soak it in. At some point, I can’t wait to re-organize my notes, I was all over that program. Thank you Beth for being God’s instrument, it was all a blast!!

    P. S. I love my basket and my new Bible Study book! Thanks!

    Jackie Sue says:

Well hey ya’ll. If I could have held the microphone Saturday I would have told Miss Beth how I dreamt about her Friday night and that her husband was Cary Grant. I am not kidding. In my dream he was her husband and yet he was Cary Grant and he was crying and asking forgiveness for all the stuff he had done. It was rather emotional. I told him that he was forgiven and that no matter what he was still my idea of the perfect gentleman. Is that random or what??? I told my roomie, Kathy, about it and we had a good laugh. I also would have told Miss Beth how glad my family is that she shared her pound cake recipe. They LOVE IT! Then I would have told Melissa how I tried to make that banana pudding, but it would not set up. We ate the banana soup for one day, but that was all we could stomach. Then I would have thanked Amanda for all her hard work to get us connected in the first place. It was an amazing weekend. God surprised me in lots of ways. I still can’t believe that we are HIS INHERITANCE. Oh the sweet love of Jesus. Thank you all Moore ladies. Blessings to you all!

Great recap!! Totally brought back soo many great and funny memories!! Plus all the great truths that Ms Beth brought in the sessions. Still trying to comprehend that I am God’s Inheritance!! And that we should not commit the “absolute worst” sin by being boring!!! I thought I would lose it when Ms Beth started imitating Paris Hilton!! Too stinkin’ funny!!!
I pray that you have a great vacation! You so have earned the time away! May God bless you with awesome weather and time with your man!
    Love ya’ll!!

    Loves being His princess says:

Okay, I plan on REALLY blogging from this point forward…you ladies really inspired me this weekend. I’ve been more of a reader/occasional poster, not hard core like some of you committed bloggers…I think it is time to start my own…BUT today was the start of school for my own sweet darlin’s AND for the 8 small districts that I serve as special ed. director for…so really saying how incredible this weekend was will just have to wait.

But I just have to share with my siestas such a sweet kiss from God last night. I pulled into town @ 5 p.m. on Sunday evening, dropped off my buddies and picked up my youngest at 5:30 p.m. We were at church at 6 p.m. My man the youth minister was so excited to see me. It was a sweet reunion. BUT GET THIS!! We sing two songs that we all sang together at the Alamodome so more sweet worship time for me…then, I hope you are sitting down!!!…Now remember I had barely had time to tell the poor guy on the phone all was well and I loved him during the weekend…He tells the youth, that we are going to talk about how richly blessed we are…”Open your Bibles to Psalm 16″ This girl almost went face down on the concrete floor!!! My husband looked at me and immediately knew. He exclaimed – “You’ve got to be kidding me!!” So he had me tell the kids what was going on and I ended up on the stage with him for some impromptu co-teaching. IS OUR SWEET LORD COOL OR WHAT?!?!?

So I ended our sweet weekend with an extra kiss from God…I love you, my siestas…and Amanda, Melissa, and Beth…thank you for sharing yourselves with us…You give me hope for raising Godly girls…even ones who are as opposite as the Moore daughters! Blessings!

    Georgia Jan says:

Amanda: The Siesta Fiesta was a beautiful blessing! I had the most wonderful and marvelous weekend and it was so much fun to put names to faces, but even sweeter to join heart to heart.

You and your Mom and sister are so delightful. I loved observing the family dynamics during the Siesta Fiesta Q&A. Y'all are the real deal…

I came with my friend Twinkle from Georgia, and we had a blast!

On the flight back home I sat across from a woman who had gotten out of Jehovah's Witnesses after 10 years. How I found out was I started talking to her because she was looking at a "Psalms of Ascent" book, so I asked her if she enjoyed the conference. She said "what conference?" Wide-eyed, I said, "the LPL Conference, led by the author of that book you are holding." She said, "never heard of it."

That was like saying "sic em to a Gawja Bulldog" to me, so for the next 2 hours I talked with her, encouraged her, helped her with some doctrinal issues πŸ™‚ and was just was blessed by our meeting. We exchanged emails, and I hope to keep in touch.

Meanwhile…Deborah (Twinkle) was praying with and helping a gentleman behind us that was going home to reunite with his wife after a year of being apart.

We were heiresses on duty and loved every minute of it…

Thank you sweet Holly and Kim and Patty for all your hard work.

    Owner of a beautiful inheritance,
    Georgia Jan

    Amanda, Melissa and Beth:

First of all I just want to say Thank you for all you do to help this siesta stay out of one big pit. I am so high on life and God right now that I told my best friend I am punch drunk on God. She laughed and laughed. I am still trying to recover and I have sleepy eyes and tears of joy and major major withdrawel pains of wanting to be back with each of you. What a miracle last weekend was for this Texas girl!

I also have been walking around the office telling the ladies that they are all Heiress’es of God and certainly they are not boring.. I am not sure if they know what to do with me.

I met some amazing women who I will treasure for a life time and I am blessed to know that I have my portion and my lot and it is Jesus Christ…

No baby yet but anyday now this Mom will be a grandmother and the joys of that just thrill me.

I love you all and Have an Awesome day with our God!

great time! Isn’t our God just the greatest, most wonderful thing.

I was there and want my husband to
    hear the message. Thanks.

    The Clardys says:

What a blessing! This conference came at just the right time in my life. I had gotten to the point where I was beginning to believe that nothing could rekindle the romance between the Lord and I and I was wandering in the wilderness of complancency. It had been over a year since I had really met with the Lord and my life was just a mess.

But on Saturday I finally let the Lord catch me and his glory came over me and I don’t think I will ever be the same! I was harboring a lot of anger towards the Lord because my father-in-law was killed a year ago by lightning. I kept repeating the line “He has told every lightning bolt where it should go,” and I couldn’t understand why God would take my husband’s family’s spiritual leader like that. Anyway, I finally realized that God has dominion and sovereignty over everything equally and this was just the way he decided to take him.

The words from Beth will stick with me forever. I am an heir of God and a co-heir with Christ and I will receive a double portion! Wow, what an amazing and generous God we have. And to know that he sees us as His inheritance is so awesome too. I love the picture of Him waiting for us just as we wait for Him. How beautiful!

There’s so much to say and not enough words to express it all! The Siesta Fiesta was a blast! I have a confession though. I had never really read the blog and my amazing boss at work signed me up for the fiesta so I could meet Beth. Now I did read one post after she signed me up so I wouldn’t feel so terrible but I definitely felt like a fraud sitting there listening to people and stories that I should have known had I been who I said I was :/ Anyway, I will definitely read it now!

One last thing, my favorite story from the fiesta was Jennyhope and her question about Melissa’s hair. Jennyhope you crack me up!
    Love,

Wow! What a weekend! The teaching, the worship, being with the siestas, spending time with my bff from high school and my mom was great. But most of all I had been with Jesus!

A couple of cool things…I made some cards for my roomies before we left and one of them was (ready for this?) Psalm 16! When I saw it on the screen and then Beth said turn there, I just got goosebumps! Then I flew home Sunday just in time to make it to church with my family. Guess what we sang…In Christ Alone and Enough! It was like God was saying, “yes, we had a sweet time in San Antonio, but here is where I have your lot set for now and for a purpose.” Talk about God Stops! I just love it when He does that!

Beth, Amanda, and Melissa–thanks for being so authentic and transparent with everything from spiritual truths and struggles to hair! Love ya’ll!

It’s hard to really put into words what the weekend meant. I tried today at lunch with some friends, and they were so excited for me, but I didn’t feel like I did it justice. Like Beth once said, I so wanted it to sound like God, but it sounded so much like…..me!Ughh!
Thanks to everyone for being so friendly and welcoming. I had come alone, only “knowing” people through the blog and their blog names. Special thanks to Siesta’s Diane, Sharron and Karen for letting me hang with them and taking me “under their wing”.
Thanks Amanda for taking what probably seemed like a “little step” when starting this blog, and just like God, He turned it into something so big and so beyond what I’m sure you envisioned..
I wanted you to thank your dad for me/us also. I know he plays a big role in all of this “behind the scenes” and he is a man of God to put up with all this “estrogen”. He is definitely a good sport and a vital partner in the ministry. Thank the “supperman” for us!! He ROCKS!Does he have a standard menu for “post-conference” supper?? Ha Ha.
This weekend and this blog and (Siestaville) have inspired me to start my own, both to keep in touch with people and to share what God has and continues to do in my life. Thanks for the inspiration. I’ll keep you posted.
    Love and prayers,
    Cindy R.

Well, I didn’t get to go but it has been so much fun to see everyone’s posts and pictures from the event!
I’m still a “siesta” even if I wasn’t there and I feel like I know some of these wonderful blogging ladies a little bit better now.

I have been reading the LPM blog for almost a year and never joined in the fun. But I met Momofeleven in line while buying some books and felt she was an immediate friend. The weekend was fabulous and God is working in my life as a result. Psalm 16 has been “my” Psalm all summer and it blew my mind when the words started running across the power point at the start of the evening. My friend and I planned on going way back in February. We are both certain that God’s divine timing was at work.
God is good and is so using LPM!
    I am living proof! πŸ™‚
Blessing to all of the Siesta’s!

Ladies, I am so thankful for you. I did want a little more dirt on the two of you from you momma when I asked (at the meet and greet time) about discipline issues. But I was happy to hear you two are the best of friends now.

I did need to say that among every word spoke and song sang, the moment I almost fell out of my seat was when Beth spoke about a woman at her church being blessed with a Down Syndrome baby and how she was so special to be given that priviledge. Because that is just how I feel as we are in the process of adopting a little DS one into our family. It was another moment of a unexpected connection. Texas love is so BIG.

Hello everyone. I don’t know where to turn to ask the most people, so I’m here. My Sunday School class is doing the Breaking Free study. It has been awesome so far! But, we are missing “The Potter and the Clay” and “God’s Unfailing Love” video segments(VHS). I believe they are on the same tape, but I’m not sure. Is there anyone out there that can loan those video segments to our church, so that we don’t miss out on any part of this study? Please contact me at [email protected]
Thank you in advance. And, thank you Beth for listening to God. You are such a blessing to so many.

    Hi everyone!

I was not able to come to the Siesta Fiesta or LPL, but want to see some pictures. But, now I see that the pictures can only be seen by using some password. Wah!

I did get to go to a small arena concert with Michael W. Smith just south of here on Sunday night, though, thanks to my dear Aunt Sue. And, it was really nice. I think Michael even “toned it down a bit” because he noticed what kind of a crowd was gathered there; older people, like my Mom [70], and families, which made the event much more enjoyable for them. He sang a bunch of songs from a new album that is coming out sometime in 2009. Sounds great!
