Breaking Free Taping

Hi ladies! I’ve just been informed that there are 350-375 tickets left to the Breaking Free taping this fall. It will take place in New Orleans at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church on November 10-15, 2008. If you’re interested in attending, please call LifeWay Events Registration at 1-800-254-2022. Because of the limited number of tickets, they are not being offered on the LifeWay web site. I’m copying all the details below. The Jones family is headed to youth camp today, so I’ll see you in a few days!

    Wow!!!

What a great opportunity! I believe the Lord has something special for people in that area. I know He always has a purpose in mind. He is so good!

For anyone who feels lead, please pray for my husband and I. I am believing God for something magnificent, but the path looks very sketchy right now, with BIG caverns on either side. We are trusting God for the next steps, trying not to create a plan that only makes us feel safe. God must be in charge if freedom and redemption are the mark.

Oh, how many idols the Lord is revealing in my life right now. I praise Him in the midst and stomp by the power of Jesus, on Satan’s desire to undermine my faith. God is good all the time! He is faithful, loving, tender, glorious, gracious, protective, providing; and thankfully never leaves or forsakes us. I will wait on the Lord and trust He will renew my strength. There is nothing on this Earth worth risking my relationship with Him.

    Blessings,
    Jina

    Unrelated…

But just wanted all the siestas to know that I was privileged to attend the Proverbs 31 She Speaks / She Writes / She Leads conference this past weekend.

Incredible bunch of women that got down on their knees and humbly washed my feet with Christ’s basin and towel.

I am forever changed and shaped by my time spent with 500 of my newest best friends! I hope you all are familiar with this bunch. They are powerfully doing God’s work in this area and are equipping many of us to do the same.

    Cindy says:

I am so excited to hear this news. I went to my husband immediately to get his ok. I promised to give up hair cuts, highlights, pedicures, ice cream, and eating out for lunch until I have the money saved for a hotel. I told him I would even work at Wendy’s part-time if I had too and this could be my anniversary and Christmas present. He smiled a sly little grin and just shook his head, but most importantly he said “yes”.

This may seem a bit much, but the Breaking Free study changed my life. No actually it helped saved my life. I cannot put into words what this study means to me or how much it changed my life. Of course I know it was God that changed things, but you know what I mean.

This will be the best anniversary and Christmas present I’ve ever received! Thank you for inviting us!

    Rachel in Louisiana says:

Oh I would so love to be there. Can I buy a ticket just to go to the Friday and Saturday tapings? It would be worth it even if I can only go to a couple of days. I live about 30 miles north of New Orleans in Mandeville and I drive into the city almost every day because I’m in nursing school there. The only problem is that I’m so busy during the week there’s no way I can orphan my family every night of the week….even for Beth. It does sound like such a great opportunity though. Maybe I can make it to a couple of them.

I live just outside of New Orleans. I completed Breaking Free last year and it changed my life..and I mean BIG TIME change! Then I heard that you were re taping near me in the fall! JOY!! I have been checking the Franklin Avenue Baptist Church Site daily – and I mean every day – for months now waiting to see if they would let non-members into the taping. I even quizzed a lady I met that goes to FABC asking her if they would let me come. I rejoiced with them when they had their first service a few months ago but still was searching for news on the taping. I clicked on and saw the news on this Blog. I RAN and got my credit card, knocking over a glass of sweet tea…forgetting the rug as I dialed the Lifeway Events number…THEY ARE CLOSED FOR THE DAY!! Can you hear my cries?? I won’t sleep a wink tonight unless I put this in the hands of my heavenly Daddy. If I am supposed to be there, when I dial the phone at 7:59.5, there will be a ticket for sale. I am just so grateful that they open at 8 because I have VBS starting at 9 and I would hate to tell all those sweet kids that I can’t teach right now because I have a phone call to make. Now to tend to the rug…anyone know a good stain remover?

  12. 12
    Shellie Paparazzo says:

Bummer. I wish I could go, but I can’t. If it was just the ticket I could, but then there’s the plane ticket and the hotel and the food. You know, eating out all the time. I would love it, but there’s no way. I can’t go to San Antonio, definitely can’t do that. I always thought the audience for those tapings was probably just the people of whatever church they’re doing it at or whatever. Oh, the San Antonio thing. You know, the only way I could go is if I gave up my family’s vacation. Well, now thanks to the gas prices we’re probably not going to get to have a family vacation either. We were going to go to go to Carlsbad, New Mexico. We were going to stop in Las Vegas to see some old friends from college for a couple of days and then we were going to head down. On the way back we were going to go to the Grand Canyon. All places I have never been and 2 of them places my husband thinks everyone ought to see live and in person at least once (Carlsbad Caverns and the Grand Canyon). Now we’re just going up to Coeur d’Alene, just 2 hours from here to visit family and old college friends that live there and there’s an amusement park we were going to go to for a couple of days. They even have a water park. Now we’ve even reduced that. We’re not staying up there as long and we’re only going to Silverwood (the amusement park) for one day. Our kids are being brats, so we’re thinking about leaving the kids with my brother and going to Silverwood by ourselves. We’ll have a lot more fun that way!

How exciting we are moving from Waco to the Mississippi Gulf Coast and will be about 45 minutes from New Orleans. My friend is going to fly down from Waco and we are going to be there! What an experience to be with you in such an intimate setting for the entire week. Thank you for inviting us. I know God will do a mighty work in all of our lives during that time. Thanks Beth…Bless you as you serve so enthusiastically.

I don’t recall how I stumbled on this blog, but HOW COOL! I’m in my 4th of Beth’s studies now and love every second of it. I noticed the announcement of this New Orleans taping and thought I’d drop an FYI that it is overlapping with the annual American Heart Association conference. Why do I offer such random information? Well, it could be that if you plan on having a heart attack, you’ll certainly be in a good place — about 40,000 cardiologists and cardiology nurses and researchers will be in town. However, it also means that hotel rooms will be a high commodity. Book your rooms soon! I so wish I could attend, but alas I’ll be busy working the conference (I’m an AHA employee :-))

    Tricia Hicks says:

I had the privilege of attending the live taping of “Psalms of Ascent” here in Nashville a couple of years ago. Be prepared to be overwhelmed by Holy Spirit. Also, be prepared to be overwhelmed by dear sweet Beth and her team. Imagine being at a Living Proof Live with only 100 people. It was so much fun and I wish I lived close enough to go to this one.

I can vouch with other Siestas that to be present at a taping event is the best! God blessed my socks off in 2000 to attend the Jesus~One/Only taping.WOW!! I know God is everywhere but boy he shows up BIG at these things, count me in!

    Di says:

I say AMEN, SISTER to Cindy’s post…it’s my story too!
I’m thrilled to be coming to the taping – from OHIO! I called my husband the minute I saw the announcement. We decided it was not possible for me to take a week away from our retail business in November. Moments later he got back to me, told me he wanted me to GO, & that we’ll just find a way to MAKE IT WORK…to which I replied, that’s GOOD because, like some kind of a crazy-woman, I just bought two tickets in case I somehow could have gone!!!
You see, like Beth, and like Cindy in the blog, Breaking Free is a big deal to me and to my family. I was changed and freed, and still am, praise GOD!!! I became a lover of His Word, and have ‘hosted’ that study and nearly all of Beth’s studies, since 2002, so others may get hooked on Jesus’s freedom too. It’s all about TRUTH and the WORD!
A group of us are doing Wising Up this summer, & waiting for Esther, & I have promised we’ll do Breaking Free the moment it comes out in ’09. What a blast to actually watch Beth tape it!!! I’m not sure how I’m coming, or who exactly is coming with me on my other ticket, but I’ll see ya’ll in New Orleans!!!

I have been dying to do Breaking Free since my first Beth Moore study (The Patriarch’s) last year. I just about fell over when I saw the invite. I will be coming from KY. Not sure if driving or flying, but I am wondering if anyone can recommend a good (safe, clean) hotel near the church. If I fly, I won’t have a car to get around in.

Thanks for the invite, I can’t wait!!

Yeah! I signed up – but it will take a few miracles to pave the way for me to show up in New Orleans in November. I figure this gives God aprox. four months to work it all out. I feel sure He’s up to the task! (smile).

This is so exciting. I live in Marietta, GA and my first reaction was that it was too far for me to go. But I can’t seem to get it out of my mind so I just called and ordered two tickets (just in case I find anyone else to go with me).

I’m booked for this and SO excited, but I know nothing about New Orleans – is there a hotel close to the church that someone would recommend? I’m not a happy driver in a strange town, so I’d love to be able to find someplace close. Is that possible?

If anyone has any hotel info, please email me – catherinehines at bellsouth dot net.

    Vicki Sandifer says:

I asked two friends where to stay and one suggested “Stay in Kenner. Don’t stay near the church.” The other suggested that you get in touch with the seminary about staying in their hotel. NOBTS.edu is their website. I called the seminary and the rooms are 55 a night. They have no food except for a snack machine, but said lots of food around the area and it is 10 minutes from the church. Hope that helps somebody. I got my room there and right now they have plenty of rooms for that week. I am coming alone at this point, so might could share my room if anyone needs a place. Let me know though because I got a king size bed instead of the twin beds.
    God Bless, Vicki

    Rebecca says:

    Amanda,

Will there be a translator at this event? I want my grandmother to go, but she only understands spanish.

  29. 29
    Cindy says:

Thank you Vicki for posting about New Orlean Seminary! I had not even thought about that.

I spoke with them a few minutes ago and one thing some might want to be aware of is the rooms are only available for members of Southern Baptist Churches.

I did ask about bring a small microwave and he said they do not recommended cooking in the rooms, but if it is was a small microwave they would allow that. Eating out could get really expensive but with a microwave we can cut down on that.

He also said it was an easy drive to the church from the school.

You can rent a room with two twins or one king. They also have 1 room left that has 1 king and 1 twin, but it is $62 instead of $55.

OK – big step of faith – I did my first “Beth Moore” study in January of 2004 – out of necessity in my spiritual life …. I’ve always wished I could be there for a taping, but didn’t know how that would happen – today I discovered the blog for the first time TODAY and behold God has made a way for me to be at a taping….the funny thing is I live in Minnesota – I have no idea how or who (will come with me) or where I’ll stay, but I think God is sending me so I’ll be a good little Abraham and go – I’m so excited (and a little scared) about what God may have planned.

Hey Friends – I realize nobody else may be reading these comments since this post is a few days old; but I had to make the VERY HARD CHOICE between hanging out with Siestas in San Antonio this August – or attending the taping in New Orleans in Nov – can’t swing both with family responsibilities and airfare – so I’m opting for New Orleans. My thought is this: it would be SO MUCH FUN to coordinate a lunch or afternoon for any Siestas at the taping to get together and chat it up (I’m assuming Beth will be far too busy to hang with us – but at least a group of us could get together). If anyone’s game – please feel free to email me at:

I had talked to a friend of mine about going together (she last week lost her husband of 45 years to pancreatic cancer – he was only 66 and was perfectly healthy until 5 months ago – she is just shocked in her aloneness that God chose to take him from her so soon). and I’ve been told for years I should do this study because of the many circumstances that keep trying to heap me into that dern ditch.
If ANYONE decides they can’t go, please please contact me, and I will joyfully buy your ticket(s) from you. my email is [email protected]

Unfortunately it does not look great. I have done her studies for years and always avoided “Breaking Free”. I was not ready to deal with that stuff. God has been recently showing me that I am ready to do this study and I was going to sign up for the Fall study at my church. A friend just emailed this info to me last week, so I thought I would ask around to see if anyone had tickets they were not going to use. You never know until you ask. I just know Breaking Free will be awesome!
Today, I watched tape 5 of Stepping Up, and it just touched me right where I needed it most. I just sat there and cried that the verses on loneliness, dissappointment, and unity were just what I needed TODAY! I know that what she is taping will do the same for countless other women who need to feel like they are not alone out there.
I am praying for your family.
Mostly though, thank you Beth for ALL that you do to serve our Lord!

    Father God,
You are the Lord of All
And on Your holy and awesome Name we call
Do a mighty & amazing work at the taping of Breaking Free
Release the captives, just like You did for me
May chains fall off and captives run free
Unloose the graveclothes and allow the blind to see
    Unlock any prison doors
And leave pride deflated on the floor
Praise You God, You do it for all
On those who believe and on Your Name call
Let a fresh anointing fall on Mama Beth Moore
Reveal Yourself and give treasures from Your eternal store
Once captives break free allow them to live free Lord
Be soaked in Your Spirit and seekers of Your Word
Break the yokes, loose the chains
Let nothing of the "old self" remain
Let nothing hinder the former captives from singing
As freedom and NEW life You are bringing
Christ gave up EVERYTHING so we could be free
Let each one hear this message and say "it's for me"
Out of the prisons let the captives run
We pray in the name of the Father, Spirit and Son.
    Amen
