Hey, Siestas! I am so grateful for your kindness. This is from an email I got from Trav and Angela last night:
“Thanks so much for the call to prayer you gave. Ang and I were overwhelmed as we read all of the sweet prayers and messages. Too much! What an amazing community. I am proud to be a MIESTA. Their prayers are already working…”
Then a text this morning: “Hey! On the plane right now. Thanks to the prayers of sweet siestas…I am much better! Worst of it pretty much gone. Just feeling a little run down. Thanks for sending the SOS!”
Let me tell you how much impact you had through the power of Christ, Girls. The man I talked to yesterday – even last night via text – was in no shape to get on a plane this morning. But he did. God be praised! Never underestimate the power of prayer!! When you band together to believe God, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE. God LOVES the faith and unity so much.

Siestas, I wonder if you’d quickly jump on the prayer train with me for our dear friend and ministry partner, Travis Cottrell? He is really sick (nothing serious but pressing and almost travel-prohibitive – fever, etc.). He’s got several huge things coming up at once that need his utmost attention. First of all, it’s his and Angela’s darling Levi’s fifth birthday (that’s their baby) and they have his party today, then EARLY in the AM he’s got to board a flight to Puerto Rico for work with the International Mission Board THEN he goes straight into a city back in the States to serve at a church later in the weekend. I told him this morning if he didn’t get dramatically better soon, to consider allowing me to unleash the Siestas before the Throne of Grace in his behalf. Just got a call from him saying, “DO IT!” So, Siestas, DO IT!!!! Thank you so much. We have no dearer friends than he and Ang to LPM. I love you!
PS. You guys are the best. I just got home from Bible study and checked your responses, praying in agreement with you. Travis is the kind that will be really touched and humbled by all the support and so will Angela. I cannot even express what a wonderful woman of God she is. You’ll never waste a prayer on her because she is the one holding the three-children fort down (complete with home-schooling) when Trav is away. I loved the prayer for Travis that one of you related to the Scripture in Mark where Jesus raised the woman from the fever and she immediately began to serve Him. YES! Very appropriate! That’s what we need to happen. I’ll get you guys an update as soon as I hear one from him. Look at the top of this same post hopefully at some point over the next twenty-four to forty-eight hours. Keep praying until we get him to Puerto Rico and feeling strong! I am so thankful for you. You really came through on this. I knew you would, Christ be praised!

I’m praying!!! I know how horrible it is….I’m single Mom this week while my hubby has been in bed since Saturday….it is nasty…but God can and WILL handle it!!! We know God has his hand on Travis!!

Oh, Father, in the mighty and healing and able name of Jesus I pray with spiritual hands on our brother Travis, that you would fully rid his body of this fever. I pray for complete healing of Travis’ body…from the top of his head to the very soles of his feet. I was just reminded this morning that you are Yahweh Rapha (the Lord who heals), so I ask you, if it is in your perfect will for Travis that you would completely heal him right now. Thank you that you hear me and by the power of Jesus, I can approach you boldly on behalf of my brother. Empower him to travel safely, give him divine wisdom and direction for all the ministry choices he has to make in the next few days. Be so mighty here, Lord, that we would all know it was YOU! Be fully glorified in all Travis does. In the mighty, healing and strong Name of Jesus. Amen

I thank you for such a talented servant like Travis. You have blessed him richly and serves you whole heartedly. I ask that you would grant him Your favor with healing to his body. Give him strength and energy to do the things he has to do over the next several days. We plead the blood of Jesus on the whole situation. Lord there are so many variables going on and Lord you are not suprised by any of them and Lord we just give it all to You and ask that you bring Calmness and Peace and Healing and Wisdom and Grace and Lord just all that You are to all that we need. Bless Trais Lord and bless his family and thank you for his family and this baby who is having a birthday. Lord how we love the babies and how we love to be able to just celebrate with them and see the faces of the Grandma’s and the Granddaddy’s. Lord it is so much fun. So Lord I want to ask you to not let Travis miss that. I know you know and care about every single detail and I thank you for that Lord. I love you and you just amaze us Lord. I will pray for Travis… I heard him sing live at Oak Hills Church, SA, TX. He lead our worship and I was amazed. His love for God is evident and the Holy Spirit was in the sanctuary as we all sang and praised our GOD. I will continue to pray. God bless you all!

It is an honor to stand in the gap for another in Christ. We lift you up, raising our shields of faith on your behalf. Lord we praise you for creating Travis and for knowing the inner parts of him. We thank you that you have the power to heal in a moment and also see the future to know what is best for Travis. Lord as you will, heal him, reveal your will to him, give him the grace he needs to do all you have called him to do in you.
Thank you that your strength and victories bring you the glory. I pray that as you do a work for Travis, whatever that may look like, that he would bow lower and see your glory in a new way.

Father of all healing and grace, I lift up to you Travis. I pray. Lord, that you will dramatically improve his health. O Lord, you are the great physician. Please take away his illness and make his body and voice strong enough for the tasks at hand. Father I pray for Angela, because there is almost nothing worse than having lots to do and having a sick mate. Lord bless her with patience and kindness as Travis heals and is gone.
