I debated posting this as I did not want to hurt Beth’s feelings, but decided she would want to know why my friend and I will not be attending, since I am sure others feel the same. We looked forward to a repeat of the past special Siesta weekends in Houston, planned just for us, and now we are tacked on to the tail end of another event for which we have to pay. I realize we could skip the event and come only to the SSMT, but after paying for airfare and a room, that seems a little silly. We live a couple hours from Houston and had planned to drive over, but as things stand, we do not feel we can justify the cost of a flight, expensive room and LPL for a one hour SSMT session, on top of the drive we would still have to make to Houston to catch the plane. We are feeling a bit let down about the whole thing. Still debating posting this, but if SSMT attendance is down, it may help Beth understand why.
Hi Kerry– we’re so sorry to have caused any disappointment. Our hope was to add to the celebration and bless. We landed on Florida because we were trying to keep it early in the year and felt Florida would offer more for ladies than the January Seattle LPL. Thank you for understanding!
Oh I’m so sad it’s not in Houston! I talked some girlfriends into doing it this year and we had our whole trip planned out but Ft Lauderdale is too far for us! Oh please do reconsider!
Hi Melissa! We’re so sorry to have caused any disappointment. Our hope was to add to the celebration and bless. We landed on Florida because we were trying to keep it early in the year and felt Florida would offer more for ladies than the January Seattle LPL. Thank you for understanding!
Since this has now been verbalized I want to say I feel exactly like Kerry and Melissa in regard to the SSMT celebration. I didn’t want to seem ungrateful nor did i want to hurt anyones feelings, especially Beth. Siestas have always been very special to Beth and our Houston Celebrations a separate event just for siesta. But I feel as if we have been slighted and “tagged on” to an already exhausting event for the LPM team. I love LPL events and attend at least one or more every year. In regard to SSMT I have memorized verses for 5 years and attended the last 4 Houston events, this would be 10 years. Houston is centrally located and less costly to fly from either coast as airfairs from California to Florida are twice the cost. I guess I still have 15 days to decide if I will drain my bank account to attend in February. I will miss worshiping at BayouCity Fellowship. And last but not least lets face it there is no Pappacitos in FL.
Just booked my hotel room for Fort Lauderdale in February. I’m so excited! It was a bit pricier than I had anticipated, though. Anyone interested in saving some money and sharing a room?
