We are 15 days out. LPM staff is gearing up for SSMT and we just wanted to make sure we have you well prepared!
We know it’s a busy time of year, and things are moving a million miles an hour, so we just wanted to give you a little reminder on what you will need to start SSMT strong!
Your verse: Have your first verse selected for our kick-off on January 1st. Choose a verse that means something to you in your present season or circumstance. This is the reason why we don’t all memorize the same Scripture. We’re not all going through the same things.
Your spiral: You will need your SSMT spiral for recording your verses by hand. This is a recommendation and not a rule, but there’s something about writing it with your own hand and picturing it later in your own handwriting that helps it sink into your memory bank.
You can now order an official SSMT spiral from our online store! Click here to purchase your copy. You also have the option to print just the cover yourself at home to add to your own notecard spiral. (We suggested some methods in the Instructions post.)
SSMT will launch on January 1st, so check back then for our first post and be ready to comment with your name, city, Bible translation, and selected verse! You can leave your comment on the blog or on our SSMT Facebook page.

Actually if I make it to Houston I type out my verses to make it much easier for my partner to help me as my writing’s a mess!
Anyway have to prayerfully consider what chapter of scripture I want to tackle this year as I usually do a chapter a time but sometimes a chapter doesn’t quite have enuf verses so I have to look at another passage.
The partners are so good they don’t make you feel bad if they have to prompt you a bit so it is just a great time.

I saw this a week ago just randomly on my iPad. And God put it on my heart to dO SSMT. II love to study God’s word and memorize it. But after a while I forget what I memorized. And feel defeated. This community will be so good. I have been pondering what verse for Jan 1. Very excited to be on this new adventure!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh man! I cannot wait. My spiral is ordered and I have the front all printed out for the second spiral (I keep at least two – one for home and one for my purse or car)!!! YAY YAY YAY!!!!
So excited!! This is my first time! I’m so glad I stumbled upon this a few hours ago! I have been memorizing for years, but have never had anyone to do it with, so the process starts and stalls. You know it goes! I’m so excited to memorize as an assignment and stay motivated and I can’t wait to see what everyone else is memorizing! What an inspired idea! I like the idea of memorizing a chapter at a time. That really resonates with me and I’m going to prayerfully consider it. I tried with the James study, but I was alone in that endeavor (I’m sure others were, I was just too shy to ask) and only made it to Chapter One. This is going to be so fun!
My spiral is ready. Anticipation is growing! I am excited about this year. We are starting a new children’s ministry at church and I know that I am going to be blessed by memorizing scripture and helping the children memorize their verses too. Thank you for encouraging us to get ready!

I’m so excited! Just ordered my spiral, and praying for God to show me the Scriptures He wants in my head and heart this year.

God has used it to do a life-changing work in my life, and I just wanted to tell you that your hours and hours of hard work are seen, appreciated, and I’m praying for you to be blessed in return.
I am so excited for this next year. I got my spiral in the mail this morning plus I got one for my friend Lorie!! She doesn’t know it yet, but she and I are going to cheer each other on with these memory verses along with our siestas on the blog!
We had a group of 4-5 do this in 2015. For 2017 we will have a group of 8 up for the challnege. We can’t wait to dig into what God has for us in 20017!
I can not WAIT! I’ve made it through part of each year you’ve done this and really want to make it to the end this time! God willing, the verses will help me keep my eyes on Him through my second marathon. But the best part is just opening the comments and being encouraged as I read scripture after scripture that’s ministering to sisters all over the world. It has been life giving in some dark times. This community is so special! SSMT 2017 here I come!

I down loaded Scripture Typer a week ago and have memorized Ephesians 1:4-9 now I am reviewing it to retain it. This program is fun and really works. My 81/2 years old granddaughter uses it to. We just load the verse she wants. In a few days she also memorized Ephesians 1:4-7
I am so excited that we are starting Jan 1st. I love new beginnings, His mercies are new every morning!
I have many things on my heart that Satan continues to remind me of and I need God’s scripture planted on it to destroy the insecurities and renew my Strength. I have been a Christian all my life but life changes, children getting older, married, work, life, health, etc… so many things need the Spirit prayed on. AND I want this next year to be a brave and healing year.
Lets get started on the SSMT 2017 – It will be SO GOOD! GOD is SO GOOD!

All in! One of my goals is saving money this year so I’m just writing my verses in one of my many journals. Plan on writing them everyday because I memorize best when writing. In cursive. With my fountain pen. Looking forward to the Facebook connection!

With the hustle and bustle of this past week I have not been able to commit it to memory but needed to read it often to grasp its truth!! This SSMT opportunity is my discipline. I made labels with each date and the cover and slapped them in a small spiral notebook I got at a conference (love free stuff). Figured they’d stare at me if I missed a date. The labels aren’t as cool as your spiral, but happy to share the file with the sheets for Avery 5360.

One mom asked me recently “why does God hate me” What series might provide some hope, peace, and spiritual healing while living a life long sentence of hell and suffering for their child?

Nothing like coming in a the final hour? Any idea on how to pick a chapter? Its a whole chapter right? Other than closing my eyes and letting the holy spirt open to what ever flips open I have no idea on how to pick this? Please LMK how you have picked in the past.
We will take you any time, Ann! You might want to pick a chapter, or you might want to choose individual verses. however you feel the Lord is speaking to you. If you are thinking of praying through topical verses to deal with say, forgiveness, you might start with a word search in a concordance, or by using an online Bible resources like BibleGateway.com. You can also watch this Blog (or our official SSMT Facebook page) to see verses that Beth and others are choosing. I’ve gotten ideas that way myself. I tend to make it too hard – don’t be like me. Grin. So happy to have you join in with us!

I mean not to offend anyone this year with my posts,however, the Lord has placed on my heart over the past year to study the Quran. The immense hatred towards “those over there” or the “evil Muslims” has depressed me Mightily! In a suicidal state of depression, the Lord spoke to me (thru many sources) saying we are more alike than unalike. So I have been studying it and have found many passages that are written verbatim. I will share them in 2017 SSMT. The Bible is my True Source but comparative religious study has given me a balance and a peace in this hardened world. Love to all my Siestas!
