In Which I Introduce a Few of my Favorite Worship Albums!

I started working on a little post yesterday, but set that aside for the time being to talk to y’all about music.

Yes, music.

I don’t know what else to say except that I love, love it. Any and all kinds, I’m not very picky and so easily pleased. When people ask me to recommend some music, I usually send them no less than 10 albums. I’ve also been known to have a lot of favorites.

Since we’ve been sharing so much this week about the ways God has used us to creatively serve others, I thought it would be sweet to share how some of that creativity has ministered to me!

So, if you’re looking for some new worship music, allow me to share with you some favorites as of late.

In no particular order:

  1. Travis Cottrell: I’m Living Proof – Travis and team released a CD just yesterday! I know many of you are familiar with and love him through our Living Proof Live conferences, so you’ll be thrilled to know this album is a compilation of songs they sing at the conferences. I’ve had it playing all day and I love it. I’m especially fond of Take Me to the KingΒ and Victor’s Crown.
  2. Matt Redman: Your Grace Finds Me – I’ll be honest, it took me a few listens to get into this album, but once I did, I was sold. The lyrics. The melodies. The Truth. The everything. It’s so, so good.
  3. Hillsong Worship: No Other Name – This is their newest release and I think I adore every song on the album. That doesn’t always happen!
  4. Hillsong Young & Free: We are Young and Free – If you’re looking for an upbeat CD to workout to, this is it. It’s young and free and awesome.
  5. Bethel Music: You Make Me Brave – Little known fact, this album was recorded live at a women’s conference, even more reason why you should get it. Grin. (This is the CD that It Is WellΒ comes from, the song I blogged about a few weeks ago.)
  6. All Sons & Daughters: All Sons & Daughters – I’ve listened to this CD for a year straight and I’ve never tired of it. Amazing. The whole thing. I so appreciate not only their gifts of creating music, but also their pastoral hearts.
  7. Passion: Take It All – This CD includes songs from Chris Tomlin, Christy Nockels, David Crowder, Matt Redman and some others recorded live at the Passion Conference. Just imagine worshiping along with 20,000 college students as you sign your way through this CD.
  8. Kari Jobe: Majestic – If you can only purchase one song off this entire album, don’t miss Forever. It’s breathtaking!
  9. Audrey Assad: Fortune Fall – I know I’ve mentioned Audrey on this blog before, but Audrey has the unique ability to pen lyrics that are so full of truth and straight from scripture and sometimes all I can say is, she’s so speaking my language right now.
  10. Lindsay McCaul: One More Step – Lindsay is the daughter-in-law to one of our beloved staff members, so naturally, we all love her, too. But I think you would love her as well if you heard her sing. Angelic! The song With the Brokenhearted is worth the entire CD. Β God is WITH us. Amen? Amen.

My list extends far beyond these 10 albums, but if you’re looking for some good Jesus music, this is at least a start.

Also, Beth is heading to Memphis as I type this. (By the way, we are out of our fifty tickets! So sorry, ladies!) Will you all join us in praying for her and the LPL team this weekend? We’re praying that the enemy would be bound from that arena and the Holy Spirit would do an extreme work in every individual heart there. He is more than capable to bring people to salvation and cause miracles to happen. Let it be, Lord! Break down walls and build up faith. In Jesus’ name!

Happy Thursday, y’all!

Thanks for the recommendations, Lindsee. I had already planned on heading to Lifeway today to use my coupons on some new music & appreciate the suggestions. Travis and All Sons & Daughters are top of my list! One of the few times I get to listen to music is when I’m driving, so I’ll need to plan a short road trip, or some extended housecleaning time.

Right now I am listening to Travis, got his cd when I travelled south to Spokane. Will look into his new cd when you all come and travel north to Seattle… still south for this Canadian!

Thank you for this list. Sometimes when I get to the store, I am forgetful of what is worthwhile. So I will make this list, stick in wallet and be ready for next selection! (Yup I’m that old I buy in person!) πŸ˜‰

Thanks Lindsee, you are a gem!

    Hi Lindsee!

In real life (vs. blog world) I believe we would be friends. I give a hearty “Amen” to all that you’ve listed here but want to mention that Darlene Zchech’s “Revealing Jesus” album has been the soundtrack of my summer and I cannot recommend it any more highly! Listen to her version of “Victor’s Crown” – it gives me goose bumps!

    Happy Friday!

I love so many of your selections, but My WORD – My favorites – even now I am singing the lyrics in my head are Bethel’s “You Make Me Brave” and All Sons & Daughters. I just soak, soak, soak in His presence when I sit under these. Kari Jobe’s Majestic is also so so blessed. My faves are Open the Heavens and I am Not Alone. πŸ™‚ Thanks for sharing sweet friend.

Just returned home from the Memphis conference. Wow! Outstanding music. Outstanding worship. Outstanding fellowship. And outstanding bible-based truth taught by an incredible Woman of God! God showed up and, of course, Beth was spot on with what I was there longing to hear. Looking forward to next simulcast!

Thanks again, Beth, to you and your staff for heeding God’s call on your lives. Feel so blessed to have been in the FedEx Forum with you and the other 9,499 woman!

Your prayers were answered, they made a difference. Each woman in our group received the WORD God had for her, and it was amazing. From the first note of worship with 9500+ women to the last Spirit-filled word from our dear Beth. This weekend was amazing. I am so thankful, thank you for being a faithful prayer warrior. Thank you Beth and LPM for doing what you do and for your obedience.

    Mary G. says:

    Dear Lindsee,
My response is a little delayed, forgive me for that. But I wanted to tell you how much your sharing of that Bethel video It is well has meant to me. I am in a situation that will not resolve itself until the end of September maybe longer. I am terrifed. The enemy loves to torment me with it. When I feel this way I play that video and I lift my hands and sing with all my might and His presence fills my apartment and His sweet peace washes over me. I look up and say It is Well! I can know this because this storm I’m in knows His name! I just wanted to say Thank you for being the vessel that brought me what I needed to know His peace when every cell in my body is quaking with so much fear, so much terror..God is my ever present help, It is well! Thank you my dear sister!

      Mary G. says:

Dear Beth and precious ladies of LPM
I have worried that the times that I have recently commented talking about feeling absolutely terrified and not going into the details may have come across like a drama queen. That was never my intent. Please forgive me if I have. In the next month or so if things go bad for me I could lose everything, and I mean EVERYTHING I have. I have and will continue to pray my heart out that it won’t happen. If you ladies wouldn’t mind saying a prayer for me about this I would sure appreciate it. Sorry if I’m a bother. I sure do love you all. You are in my thoughts and prayers, always…

      • Lindsee says:

Sweet Mary, I can assure you we’ve never thought of our ladies as drama queens. Would never cross our minds. We are so aware that each of us face hard battles daily, we’re not just playing! I am asking the Lord right now to reverse whatever damage could be done and that He would provide for you in miraculous ways this very day. You are so loved.
