2013 Siesta Scripture Memory Team: Verse 18!

If you happened to join us for the simulcast Saturday (we enjoyed worshiping and studying Scripture with you so much!), I bet you could guess my verse without ever seeing it. Here goes!

Beth, Houston TX. For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace. Romans6:14

AMEN TO THAT.

It’s 11:15PM Saturday night and my eyes and fingers are so tired, I can hardly type. With your gracious permission, I’ll make this one short and sweet this time. I do so dearly love you. I’ll need a little grace on Sunday for moderation. I truly have to get some rest or I’ll never make it the rest of the week. Go ahead and leave your verses but keep in mind that they might not get moderated and posted till Monday after Living Proof opens.

I love you guys! Hold fast to Jesus!

First, wow, what a great simulcast!! Having been a Christian for years, I never, ever heard that we do not disappoint God. I left lighter than I arrived today. Thank you for that. Second, where did you ever find that creative writing about grace? Who wrote it, and how can I get a copy of that? It gave me what you call chill bumps, and I call goose bumps 🙂

Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you! Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten. Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have heaped up treasure in the last days. Indeed the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth. (James 5:1-4 NKJV)

Your gold and your silver have rusted; and their rust will be a witness against you and will consume your flesh like a fire. It is in the last days that you have stored up your treasure! Behold, the pay of the laborers who mowed your fields, and which has been withheld by you, cries out against you; and the outcry of those who did the harvesting has reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth. You have lived luxuriously on the earth and led a life of wanton pleasure; you have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter. You have condemned and put to death the righteous man; he does not resist you.”

    Lorie Neeser-Saiz says:

    Dearest Beth,
My sister and I joined you in Carson City, Nevada today for the Simulcast. My sister surprised me and bought the tickets … that in itself, is an answer to prayer! We love you too ever so dearly and my heart was overflowing as the study ended as it always is when I join you. I’ve never met you, but I feel as though I know you as you’ve been there for me during some of my roughest challenges. I welled up with tears as you told the story today about the sun rising over the strip club. “Who does that?” “Who are you?” Oh God, only you! Beth, you have touched my life through the Lord so many times. I am a woman who never got to be a mommy, but always long to be a mommy. You helped over that huge hurdle as a Woman through your studies in Esther … “Who does that?” You were there also during a difficult time in my wedding photography business. A mean girl took me to court over a loophole in my contract. It was heartbreaking. Your study on Mean Girls was so right on the money again. This year has been the most heart breaking of all … within a six month period … I lost my mom suddenly, separated from my husband (not by choice) suffered a bleeding ulcers and to top it off a hysterectomy which now means no children for sure. Needless to say, these things have rocked my world but the Lord has been so gracious and has been with me every step of the way. Today to sit with you at the Simulcast touched me every so deeply. “Who does that?” Our sweet Lord. My sister and I sang our hearts out, we howled laughing and could not breath when you brought the old self out and were driving with him, massaging, cuddling … the illustration was beyond brilliant .. we also cried … yes … the cry face but we were able to reapply our mascara on our breaks if needed! 🙂 Your love for the Lord is beautiful .. your passion, dedication and love for women of God and women in general is really so special. You should know we feel it on the other side of the screen and we can’t thank you enough for your dedication to these studies and I can only imagine the hours that are poured into them. So … once again … “Who does this?” Our amazing heavenly Father!!! We want to come see you in person in Montana … think would make for a fun road trip from reno! Blessing to you Beth… May you get some well deserved rest and May the Lord continue to make His face to shine upon you always!!! Much Love from Reno, Lorie PS … We loved the outfit today and good call on letting those cuffs hang ….. perfect!

Loved the readings at the end…wanted to write the verse addresses down!!! Loved the GRACE PRAYERS for the strip clubbers and the heart of the love for the sinner!!!! May we all realize but for the GRACE of God …. May we have a heart for the lost like JESUS that Beth has shown she has because she lives a life of GRACE through CHRIST!!!! May the LORD shine HIS SON upon USA as He did over that club bc without HIM SHOWING UP with HIS LIGHT we are in deep….trouble….HOPING and praying for and IN HIS GRACE AND MERCY!

Matthew 16 – Workers in the Vineyard

When I read this, why do I assume that I am the worker hired the first hour? Why do I assume that I have done the hardest work for the longest time, making me question the “fairness” of the story?

I did not have to float around on a boat for 150+ days filled w/ animals and their by-products, unable to escape for even a second of alone time, depending on the questionable sanity of a man who would build a boat in a land that had never known rain. I have floated on my share of rocky waters but I always knew Who was at the helm and that He knew where He was taking me, in spite of the stench around me

I do not live in a land in slavery to a merciless leader only to escape & wander around in the desert for 40 years. I have wandered in my share of deserts but the voice of the One leading me out was always before me, behind me and right beside me.

I have not had to wait and depend on a man called “priest” to pay my atonement only at designated times. I have not had to bring my sacrifice, a cumbersome and gruesome process, repeatedly to the temple to watch someone else enter the Holy Place on my behalf and hope for the best. I have a High Priest who made the ultimate and once-for-all sacrifice, Who is readily available day and night, Who interceeds on my behalf, Who knows me even better than I know myself, Who has my best interest at heart and Who knows the end from the beginning.

I do not, like Esther, have to think about entering the king’s presence in fear and trepidation hoping beyond hope that he will extend his septer to me and grant me audience instead of death. No, my King invites me, no delights to have me come into His presence anytime. Truthfully, He desires that I stay in His presence day and night.

I do not live in a time when I, as a woman, am considered of no worth. That I require the leadership of a man to interpret the Scriptures for me or to even exist and, as a widow, am a total burden to those around me. No, I am a child of my King, one in Christ, man or woman, slave or free.

I do not live in a 400 yr. age of silence when the voice and direction of God was heard by noone. No I live in a time when, if I silence myself and the chaos around me, I can hear the still small voice of His Spirit wooing me, leading me, encouraging me,

No, I live in a time when the price has been paid once for ALL! I can dance right into the throne room and be welcomed with open arms, listening ears, strong and protective hands, matchless power and a heart & body that would rather be broken that keep me from His Presence. I can run right into the safety and immeasurable love of my Savior.

How can I be envious of His generosity when I have been the recipient of so much of it? Yes, I am one of the last hired. No, this is not an example of fairness. This is GRACE!

    Katie Carter says:

I am praying two new prayers. Lord I pray that sin shall not be master over me for I am NO LONGER under LAW but under GRACE. AND Lord I pray that sin shall not be master over Your people for we are NO LONGER under LAW but under GRACE.

WOW!! What a Word! God really spoke through Beth!! This is probably one of the most POWERFUL messages God has for His people. Romans 6:14 will never read quite the same to me. I’m AWESTRUCK once again by HIS GREAT LOVE!

    Melody says:

Was so overly blessed by the simulcast. We watch from Delmar Full Gospel, Delmar NY. Seriously don’t think there was a moment when I wasn’t crying because God’s presence was being made evident as the minutes past! Comments and ideas that I had only muttered under my breath were spoken by Beth to reaffirm the love God has for me! Not disappointment or shame! So thankful The Lord will pursue me and lovingly correct me! Bitterness and criticism had become my life. I was dying a slow toxic death and infecting my family and so many around me! Satan knew I would be set free thru Beth’s words and did everything he could to discourage me from attending. I’ve moved my camp to the side of grace and want to begin accepting the grace God for me so I can pour it on others in my life. Thank you Beth (and God)! Any chance you can post the creative writing about the definitions of grace? We were too busy crying to jot them down. 🙂
