*Update: Lindsee here! Just wanted to let you ladies know that I added the Bible study image to the bottom of the post. Just a little eye candy for you visual folks. Grin. Feel free to pass along!
It is the time of year that all our Living Proof staff and multiple volunteers get most fired up about: TUESDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY!ย Girl, we are gearing up. We start tomorrow night and, if you’re in the Houston area, you are wholeheartedly invited. Let me also tell you something God has placed strongly on my heart. I’m really praying for many women to come who have never been to a Bible study. (It’s lecture only at this time so she doesn’t have to jump straight into hours of homework.)ย If you’re a veteran, bring somebody brand new who is open but unfamiliar. I keep getting a sense from my preparation for these two brief books of the Bible that they might offer someone new a taste of Scripture that is both personal and prophetic and that speaks to both now and later. It has an intimate yet pretty exciting feel to it, if you know what I mean.
Here are the facts:
*It’s for women only. Please respect this. Since we speak to all manner of topic, it’s seriously not the place for children either.
*We’re studying 1 and 2 Thessalonians and calling it “Children of the Day.”
*We’re meeting for eight Tuesday nights, focusing on one chapter each Tuesday night.
*We start worship at 6:30 PM then move into our study time and the evening concludes right at 8:30. We go for it on Tuesday nights.
*It’s an interdenominational, nondenominational, any-woman-welcome-no-matter-what kind of gathering. Sadly, we cannot offer childcare. We wish so much we could provide it but we have no way of knowing how many to provide for!
*It’s at Houston’s First Baptist Church at 7401 Katy Freeway at 610 and I-10. We are so grateful for their love and support. They are tremendously dear to us and we always hope and pray that God will bless them for being so gracious to house us.
*Carpool, carpool, carpool, carpool, CARPOOL!!! The parking lots at HFBC do not support a full house well. Since it’s free, of course, and no registration is required, we simply have no idea how many to plan for. Just in case, get there early if possible. Supper can be purchased in the Fellowship Hall but it would be best to get there pretty early those first few weeks.ย If you arrive closer to 6:15, you might be wisest to bring to-go food and just eat it there in the Fellowship Hall without stress or lines.
*For more information, by all means please check out www.lproof.org/houstonconnection
*LPM staff and volunteers will be all of the place that evening to direct you or to answer your questions.
We would love to serve you! If you’re not in our area, please pray for us as we gather. Pray for Christ to be so present and powerful that we cannot help but be altered by Him. We are passionate about the privilege in Christ to serve our own city and everything about our Tuesday nights encapsulates what we feel most called to do at LPM. We are jazzed. Pray for us to be servants in every way.
I love you guys so much! Houston girls, we’ll see you so soon!!!

Tuesdays are my days to serve our Military MOPS group here at Fort Belvoir by mothering the most darling group of young mamas. Will surely remember to pray for you and your selfless staff as y’all work hard for Houston’s ladies. Will you breathe a quick prayer for me as well? Lots of opportunity to try and give these gals a peek at Jesus, and it sure is humbling.
Sweet One, What you are doing matters SO MUCH! Thank you for serving these precious young mothers.
Father, we ask that you bless this ministry and sow seeds of your Spirit. May everything our sister sows be returned 100 fold to her! Amen!
Just prayed that God’s presence would SO invade your young mamas tomorrow night. May they be encouraged and strengthened. I have 3 little ones and LOVE the MOPS ministry. Blessings sister!

This is one time I wish I lived in Houston! Enjoy!
I will be praying for you girls tomorrow from Tampa! ๐
Praying for all of you!!
Loved having “met” some of your Houston girls through the video portions of your Bible Studies!
Praying for you all to be led by the Holy Spirit, logistical issues, and the Lord just really put it on my heart to pray for the women who really want to invite someone that God has laid on their heart to invite and are shy/hesitant. Praying God would give them the words and the courage and that hearts would be open to hear.
Also, pray for the one’s who are aware of the Bible Study but are on the fence about going.
Have a blast!!! We’ll be praying you all up!!
Thank you sister! You don’t know how much your words mean to all of the Living Proof Staff right now. May God alone be praised and lifted high tomorrow night!
Blessings,
jenn

Praying for you Houston girls to enjoy your Tuesday night study with Beth and may the Holy Spirit brighten and enlighten your way! We are starting an “outreach” Bible Study on Tuesday mornings in a Seniors Mobile Home Park in So. Cal and will be doing Beth’s awesome study on the book of James! I can’t wait! So we are “with you” in spirit and in truth as we move forward in faith this New Year of 2013. We have so much life in store…”if” we move out in faith believing!
Lovingly,
A So. Cal Siesta,
Pam>
Pam, what a wonderful outreach! We pray God’s richest blessings on you as you study His Word with those precious seniors!
Any chance of videos to be posted of each class for those of us out of town? ๐
Is there anyway to live stream this like they did for the Passion conference?
Hi Sarah! Because it will eventually be a Bible study, we don’t do livestream. But it is most definitely a study you can be looking forward to! Blessings!
OH! Beth!
I just hope some time in my life time yet I can come to Houston and sit in on a Tues study. I just love how you do your studies especially since you stay outta doctrine’s way!!! We are a diverse bunch and get into hair splitting with the best of them. One thing we can all agree on is salvation in Jesus Christ alone and that can take a life time of Bible studies to grasp. There is so many treasures to unearth in scripture without arguing over theology. Bless you! I am getting a new convert to do some of your Bible studies for the first time with me!!! Just found her out here on the Dakota prairies! And they say there are no people here!!! Love and prayers!
Betty M
Keep the Dakota Lands warm in heart Betty. It is always wonderful to meet new people and share with them, even if it is just for a season. The impact remains.

A most bigous smile from the prairies of Dakota Land! I always invent new words too!!!!
Love,

I may be in the area for a week in February. Can I come that week?
Yes ma’am! We’d love to have you!
Hola Mrs. Beth,
I read the blog this morning because you tweeted it and was so excited for you and all the many, many WOMEN!! (Psalm 68:11!!)
But I thought I would jot a comment because I read the blog on my iPhone as I laid in bed. Then, I got up and spent time with the Lord. I read from a Spurgeon devotional and the benediction was 1 Thess 5:23-24. I felt led by the Spirit to pray that for you and the group that will join you for the upcoming weeks, since it’s your book of study!
May you, Lord, the God of peace YOURSELF, sanctify my sisters COMPLETELY, and may you keep their WHOLE spirit and soul and body BLAMELESS at your Son’s coming, our Lord Jesus Christ! You who call them are FAITHFUL; you will SURELY DO IT, Lord!! In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen! And Amen!
Have a blast!!
Love, Courtney
Oh and Lindsee,
I just saw your note on the added graphic–I just thought it had not uploaded on my iPhone. But no, that’s just you being the best at social media/internet community love that you can be!! I love it! Well done! ๐
cc
Amen and amen, Courtney! We just had prayer time, but I am joining you in that. Blessings, Sister!
Oh Lindsee how I wish I could transport myself from Wisconsin to Houston for those weeks. May each woman be transformed more into the likeness of Christ!! Blessings to you dear one ๐
I will so be in prayer for your Tuesday night Bible study. This year, 2013, I am asking the Lord to do “immeasurably more” in capturing the heart of my eight year old son. I want Jesus to be absolutely irresitible to him. His little heart is wide open and ready!
Lisa,
I agree in prayer with you for your precious boy! I pray that the tested genuineness of your son’s faith–more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire–may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. I pray that though your son has not seen Jesus, he would love Him. And I pray that though he does not yet see Jesus, he would believe in Him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the object of his faith–the SALVATION OF YOUR SON’S SOUL!! (1 Peter 1:7-9)
Be blessed, Siesta!
Love, Courtney
Ephesians 3:20-21, my first scripture verse for 2013 memorization
I live very far away (Kentucky), but will be praying for your time together. Just wondering if you’ve ever thought about broadcasting it online? I’d love to be a part of this. I attend bible study at my church, Experiencing God, but would love more. Just curious?
Flights from Chattanooga to Houston, downloading now…
In the meantime, I have a funny story. Yesterday, I had a booth as a vendor at a local wedding fair (I do wedding photography). Near the end of the wedding fair, there was a huge fashion show and this woman came out modeling mother of the bride dresses looking EXACTLY like Beth. There was an audible gasp in the crowd and I heard women saying “That looks JUST LIKE BETH MOORE.” It was so funny! I saw her up close afterwards and she really, really, really looks like you Bethie.
Look forward to the future bible study. Wish I lived in Houston for events like this. Blessings on the whole project!!
Beth! Please get this live streaming on the internet for your Siestas!!! That would be amazing!!!
Praying in Southern Ohio ๐
My heart is in Houston! God’s blessing to you all.
Sure wish you could do the Tuesday night Bible study by streaming video so we could view it from a distance with you…..
Will this study be available on DVD later? I would love to do this one…..
Thank you!
Betty
Beth and buddies, So excited for you all to get together and study God’s word. Nothing but blessings can come from it. I’ll send up prayers that Jesus is present in such a way that He is unmistakable. Love you, Lynda
While I wish I was there and could participate, I am so excited for all those who can join you tomorrow! I pray it is a blessed time full of wisdom and understanding. Have a blast!
Praying for you with a godly jealously. May not one single soul walk out of there without having met with Jesus.
You go girls! We would love to join in Siestaville live streaming! What do ya think?
Bless you all!
This young lady lives in Canada but she definitely is praying that God will do wonders in your meetings.
Love your passion for Jesus.
Ganise
PS: Just curious. ๐ Do you have an age range?
Ah, just saw that: ‘Women of all ages..’
Nice! *Smiling* You never know, one day…
So is this the Bible Study Ms Beth is currently writing? I’ve been praying so much for the new study and have been so excited to find out what it will be!
Tuesday night blessings to all!
It would be so awesome if you would live stream this study! Prayers for all involved.
HAHA!! Just was going to ask if it could be live streamed!! Is there anyway though somebody could post some of the points discussed or something? So strange, but I just opened my Bible to 1 Thessalonians and read the whole thing. Saw stuff I had never realized before. Wish I could be there. Prayers going up!!

WRONG POST ๐
Lord I pray today that all those that you want at this conference will be there. I pray for the many Christians that live around these women that they would courageously invite them, that they will not just eat the seeds but plant the seeds investing in their neighbors lives so their neighbors can know you as their Lord and Savior. I pray for Blessings in abundance on Beth as she hears from you and shares with those women. Lord do immeasurably more than we can ask or think.
OH MY!!!! ITS JOHN…NOT MATTHEW!!!
GUESS ITS TOO EARLY!!! NOT ENOUGH COFFEE YET!
That made laugh! *Grin* Bless you, Siesta.
Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19
My church (womens group) is starting a new bible study tonight and it’s one of yours Beth!! Living Beyond Yourself. I’m so excited!! Almost a year ago I attended my 1st bible study. It just so happened to be yours on the book of James. I absolutely loved it and am so thankful that you turned me on to participating in bible studies. I have done each one our church has offered since! Thanks for being such an inspiration!!
Praying for all of you at LPM and the precious sisters that attend this study ๐ God Bless you all !!
Wish I lived in the Houston area , sounds like a wonderful study! I will be praying for all you ladies!
What a blessing it would be to live stream and include fellow students who don’t live near enough to attend! Please consider!
Lynette – Aurora, CO – Psalm 131:2 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
Surely I have composed and quieted my soul; like a weaned child rests against his mother, my soul is like a weaned child within me.
Praying for your Bible study from Olympia, WA. I would love to be there too!
That is great! I will be praying for you all, it sounds like a fantastic study on 1 and 2 Thessalonians!:)
Hi Beth,
This comment actually goes with the SSMT post from today (1/15), but I wanted to honor the purpose of comments for those posts and not post it there. However, I would love for some more information regarding something. I am really interested in some teaching about what you mean by the difference between “claiming” Scripture and just praying Scripture and interceding with Scripture. I realized as I read your post that I was under the impression they are the same thing. But I’ve never had any teaching on this and don’t know where my impression came from. Is there any chance you can offer some enlightenment and/or guidance on how to study this? Thank you so much!!!!

My verse for January 15, 2013:

Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” NKJ
My group is supposed to start David: Seeking a Heart Like His tonight but we are having a bit of wintry weather that we Mississippians are not used too so we may have to cancel for tonight. Hopefully not though because I am eager to get started.
Lindsee,
I agree with the ladies that would love to see this on live stream!! Those of us in other parts of the country would sure love that.
Two questions – will there be another entry today so we can leave our new Bible verse? and when we leave one, how do we know if you got it or not?? I never did find mine after the first???
Thanks so much and just love being a part of the Siestas!!
Hi Betsy! The new post is up today. If you refresh your blog at the top, you should see it! And if you give us about 24 hours to moderate comments, you should see your come in. I hope that helps!
Oh how I miss doing Beth Moore Study’s in a group! Enjoy ladies. I just prayed for you, and for Beth’s Ministry. I know if you live streamed all of these, so many would watch! Praying that my church will one day allow me to host some Beth Moore…. praying for women in my church to WANT THE WORD! Then men do such a good job, but I miss ladies wanting it too! ๐ Love yall!
