OUR ONE THOUSAND WOMEN- PASSION 2012 CAMPAIGN! Here they are!

Oh, Sisters, I longed for you to see these 1000 darling women that God allowed us the privilege to host at Passion 2012. Meeting with them was a huge highlight for our staff. We greeted them, heard from several of them regarding how we could pray for them, had a very brief Q&A, then prayed over them. Oh, and then I hugged as many as time would allow and I am not kidding when I say that it was at least a hundred. I wish so much I could have gotten my arms around all 1000. I hope some of them will find their way to this post and leave a comment to let us know specifically how God revealed Himself to them and what major truth they took home with them. Please don’t stop praying for them. By now, they have already been tremendously challenged by their worlds and by the enemy of their souls. Pray for them to stand firm. Let’s be good big sisters to them.

Behold the fruit of your prayers:

This is a quick picture from the very opening of Passion Monday night. My heart felt like it was beating as loud as the dozen drums on that stage. I didn’t take many pictures during the sessions because I didn’t want to be distracted and miss God. I wanted to worship and to receive a word myself! I know you get that.

Last one in case you’re totally over it. Grin. This is my first encounter with Christine Caine (from Australia, look into her organization “A21.”). She was so hilarious and so full of life as we met and chatted together back in the Green Room. I liked her instantly. She told me that she bought this hat for $10 at the airport because her hair was dirty. Yep. I loved her.

Then her session just about blew a hole through my chest. She called all of us to DO SOMETHING NOW about the biggest epidemic of slavery to ever hit the globe: 27 million slaves around the world right this minute. And many of our cities are housing them. Mine included, God help and forgive us.Β  It’s deplorable and as Passion 2012 voiced over and over again: indifference is not an option. Those kids raised over 3 million dollars to fight this epidemic. Astounding. CNN even told the story. Google it and watch it. The Name of Jesus comes up blatantly in it. If you get the chance, also watch Christine’s session on the official Passion 2012 website as soon as they’re airing it.

I was so ruined by the session that I already have a meeting set in stone, God willing, so that I can see what God would have me do here in Houston. Not coincidentally, on January 1st of this year (prior to the Passion event or ever meeting Christine or hearing about these shocking statistics) God gave me Micah 6:8 to claim for 2012 through that morning’s sermon at my church. I even wrote it on the very front of my journal (all still before I ever got to Passion) and instead of it writing it word-for-word as it is stated in my Bible, I personalized it on the front of my journal like this:

“He has told you, Beth, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice and to love kindness (or mercy in many of your translations) and to walk humbly with your God?”

When I was so stricken by the statistics and then the session, I got out my new journal in my hotel room to start asking God in ink what He wanted me to do. And there I saw the verse I’d written on the front of it. I was taken aback. I knew it was no accident. SO, I am open to His leadership and, as I know more, I will share more. One thing is for sure. I’m not going to sit back and do nothing.

I took all of you with me to Passion 2012 on my heart. Louie announced before closing the event that it will be back in the Georgia Dome next January. PASSION 2013!!!!! Look for us to start talking about it again mid-Fall of this year.

After asking for so much involvement from you, I didn’t want to leave you without an update! Thank you so much for all your prayers and for such support. Here’s the last thing I have to say. Anybody who thinks that the horizon looks terribly bleak for the church has not been to Passion. I do not know what the future holds for our nations and our governments but, even out of ashes, God can raise up a gorgeous Bride. She looked stunning on the faces of 44,000 young people this week.

I love you.

Beth, I was one of the 1000 but wasn’t able to attend. And the Lord still worked in my heart! Hoping to attend in 2013, but I wanted you to read everything that happened anyway. http://becominghisbride2012.blogspot.com/2012/01/passion-or-freedom.html

I had the pleasure of watching on line amazing to think can’t imagine what it felt like to experience. Those kids truly amaze me they are willing to give till it hurts. I had the privileged of hearing Christine Caine in Baton Rouge last year. Her testimony brought tears. I enjoyed her the first time but to know her testimony she is amazing. You teamed together with the amazing group to change the world I believe. Such hope it gives I love you thank you for the price you pay for given to the Lord. You have made such a difference in today’s world. Love you friend.

It gives me chills to read about what was accomplished through the Passion Conference. I’m not a college student, but I so want to go!

I know those girls that LPM sent to Passion are going to make a difference in this world!

Amen. I’d heard of Passion; but thanks to you sharing it here, I experienced GOD via live stream. I love you too!

Thank you so much Beth for the picture of the gals that attended Passion 2012 on scholarship! I have been praying for three women before, during and now, after Passion. While worshipping with the 42,000 + via livestream, I felt even more connected with them.

God definitely has His hand on today’s young people! Their commitment to missions and their love for the Lord was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G to witness at Passion. Lord Jesus bless each commitment made at Passion … All praise and honor to You Lord!

    Christine Rhodes says:

The Lord blew my mind away at Passion. For a while, I wasn’t going to be able to go because I’m a poor college student who had just paid for a conference that was a week before Passion so money was dried up. Then, the opportunity for 1,000 scholarships came up, and I immediately applied. The Lord provided me one along with two girls that I had praying would go. God continued to work by giving us a free place to stay, so it was a definite we were going to the Dome!

I had never been before so I had NO idea what to expect! God changed my heart in radical ways through all the teachings, especially Christine’s! Christine said, “Compassion isn’t compassion unless you are crossing the street and doing something about it.” That hit me hard because it is SO true! If I had to pick Scripture to summarize Passion for me, it would be Isaiah 61. We are called to go out, and bring freedom!

I’m so excited to see this generation unite and go out and do something! God has such an awesome plan for each of us when we raise our white flags and surrender. To Him be ALL the glory!

By the way, the scholarship meeting was so fun! I’m so glad I finally got to meet Melissa, Lindsee, and some of the other ladies!

Thank you so much for all you did for Passion 2012. My daughter, Kelley, was one that received a ticket from you. I really didn’t know how she would be able to afford to go, but God did some amazing things and she and 2 of her friends from Texas State just returned home from an absolutely amazing week. Can’t wait to hear all their stories. Thanks again for your involvement with Passion. The next generation is in great hands.

I was actually one of the 1,000 who’d received a scholarship, but had to back out last minute because finances fell through. Nonetheless, I watched every livestream and was SO incredibly moved, encouraged, and challenged by all of the truth that was preached at Passion!!! My heart is so incredibly unsettled (in the best possible way), and the Lord is bringing me back to life in a way that I never saw coming!!! Thanks for your prayers and for letting God use you, Beth! I am both humbled and grateful! :]

  11. 11

That picture is so great of all the gals!! I watched from my home in California and I, too, was rocked by Christine’s message. She said three things that I cannot get out of my mind, nor do I want to…
1)’It’s easy to ignore suffering when it’s nameless and faceless’
2)’Compassion isn’t compassion until you cross the street and do something
3)’Why do we live as if the goal in life is to arrive at death safely’
I was so thankful for Passion’s ability to stream the conference free of charge! Incredible. And just so you know, Siesta Mama, when you spoke about God not only coming to be reachable but also touchable, I wept. Thank you for letting Him use you to teach out of Luke. The church is NOT lost in this generation, Passion is the evidence! Amen!

I watched most of the sessions online. I am forever wrecked and not sure what my journey will ever be in helping free the 27 million. I am praying for them and those at Passion. I am convinced they will change the world. I can’t wait to see what that group of 45,000 people can do with God paving the way…
My kids watched much of it and they are both counting down the years until they are 18 and packing up. My 2 year old boy watched and (pointing to you) said she is pretty mommy. I’m wondering if God is wrecking my heart for my kids path into that. Passion is amazing…so grateful I got to witness it through a screen.

I loved reading this post, but it was that last line…”even out of ashes, God can raise up a gorgeous Bride. She looked stunning on the faces of 44,000 young people…” that made my heart melt. I love the Body of Christ, and love love love watching the next generation rising up! This post helped me “be there” a tiny bit. I was so blessed to see Christine Caine at World Mandate in Waco this past September. My first introduction to her, and she blew me away. Praying for her ministry, as well as yours.

I cannot tell you how much this post blessed my heart. AND here’s something cool. God is on the move and I love it that we get to do life together through the sistahood! πŸ™‚

I was one of the recipients and I know that this week at Passion changed me forever. Going into Passion I’ve been on a downward slump for about two years – I’d become very apathetic and really lost my passion for God. At Passion that all changed. I felt things drop off and my joy return as I turned back to God. I have been raised from the dead and I need to live like that. I need to seek Him and know Him deeply. I am praying daily that He would help me to love Him more and that whenever I open my mouth that I will boldly proclaim the mysteries of the Gospel to the world. I’ve been very passionate about ending slavery and this conference just increased it. I am looking into how I can become more hands on involved with being the hands and feet of Christ to those in this broken world. Thank you so much for the opportunity to attend this conference and thank you to whoever prayed for me during the event. I love the Siestas.

Beth- I was not one of the 1000, but I was at Passion and it was life-altering. I cannot stop thinking about the words that were said by every one of the speakers, the songs that were sung by my peers with all of our arms outstretched, and the conversations I had with my family group in my community group. First off, I want to thank you SO much for your powerful talk. I could go on and on, but it brought me to tears and you really struck a chord in me and every single person I talked to. I cannot wait to share the message you gave with my Young Life girls (I’m a YL leader in Nashville). You have such a gift to share God’s truth and are very much appreciated. Like you, I also was blown away by Christine’s talk and am determined to spread awareness of the issue that humbled and inspired thousands over the past few days. The main thing I got from Passion was a new found confidence in God’s love for me and all of his people, his plan for me and the people of the world, and my ability to make a difference in sharing the gospel with others in whatever I do with my life. I also am determined to step up my prayer time and my time spent in the word. Thank you, thank you, thank you for being there at Passion and for everything that you do!!

I have been waiting to see what you would write about the Passion Conference. Thanks to reading the info on your blog and facebook I was able to watch almost every session of Passion 2012 online. I know it is aimed at college students, but this 50 something woman thoroughly enjoyed it and was just as shocked and alarmed by the world slave statistics as you. Christine is right! We cant let this worldwide horror continue and keep silent! May God give you insight as to your plans and may each of us do something to fight for what is right!

Beth-Thanks so much for providing me with a ticket to Passion!!! It changed my life.
I had been struggling and faltering in my faith and knew I needed to change, but doing so seemed so glum. I learned so much at Passion. I am looking into ministries and groups to get involved with in my city. And I will be going to Passion next year for sure since it will be the last year my age will allow me to go. A hug!

I was at Passion with a group from my church that included my own 3 kids – 2 in college & a high schooler. It was the first time for my daughter to hear Beth Moore in person though she has seen her on dvd. She thought what we all think – it was awesome! So grateful for God’s work through all the speakers & musicians & in all of us who were there & watching online! Amen and amen!

  24. 24

Oh, Beth, I, too, got to participate in a very small way at Passion. I worked the green room on Friday and Sat. for the bands to rehearse. (I could have renamed the 7-Dwarfs song in Snow White, “Worhip while you work” for indeed I did!) I then went and kept my 10 month old grandson so my daughter-in-love could take 16 girls from her youth group to the gathering. (4 of whom were recipients of LPM scholarships. Thank you!) In the meantime, I watched the live stream when possible and then sessions they put up on line the 24 hours following. Even today on the way home, I was thinking of “the narrative within the narrative” of which you spoke. But like you, I was blown away by Christine Caine. What a woman! What a testimony!! What a God!!! Oh, praise His holy name! I, too, have come home with a desire to “do something now” and am making it my prayer to know exactly what that is. 27,000,000? Staggering.

Something HUGE happened in Atlanta this week! Something global. And I, too, am so encouraged by this generation. I’m also so incredibly grateful for Louie’s (and Shelley’s) vision and so humbled that in a very small way, God would allow me to be a part of it.

Thank you for all you did and for making provision for so many young women to attend. Bless you, sweet one.

    Laura says:

Thank you so much for posting an update. I have been praying for my girl all week. I needed this update in the worst way today. This morning, I stumbled upon a blogpost discussing an upcoming series on the authority v. inerrancy of the Bible. The post was fine, but the comments hurt my heart so badly and it really disturbed my soul.

That might sound odd, but I hurt for these folks that cannot trust the Bible to be the truth that our belief in Christ rests upon. Comment after comment talked about books that had been read to help understand the Bible, the anger they felt over the Bible itself, and just the overall distrust of the Scriptures and the “church” as a whole. But no one mentioned praying and asking God to reveal Himself through his Word. They seemed to only rely on other men and women to explain the Bible to them, but couldn’t rely on teh One that wrote it.

To know that they aren’t the only voice out there, is a huge blessing. To know that the Holy Spirit is alive and well in the next generation is such great news! Just like anyone, I have had questions and even a doubt or too arise from reading the Bible, but through prayer and further study, a peace takes over and having all the answers is not as important anymore. I cannot imagine not being able to turn to my Bible with faith that my God will meet me there. Cannot imagine it at all.

So tonight, as I continue to pray for my girl that attended Passion, I also pray for those that need to know the Scriptures as the living word of God and that they can trust it with their entire beings. I will also pray that those leaving Passion will be a voice to those around them that need to hear the truth about God, not the truth as the world tells it, but the truth that is Jesus Christ.

Sorry for such the long comment, but I would love others to join me in prayer for those that need to know how deep, how wide, and high the love of God is for them. I love that I can come here and share with you all.

God bless you and keep you all.

Watched much via LiveStream and YES! Christine Caine has rocked it since ‘the Thin Blue Line’ and she was brunette years ago! (ha) Ever since A21 has started, God has really moved and amazing things have happened in a short amount of time. Every time I see her speak, she rips a whole in my chest and….she’s just astounding.

Of course, you are too!!! Passion 2012 was so exciting to see as many of us round the world were watching. And to see young people raise over $1 million in 3 days to stop human trafficking! God is truly amazing!

Your message was so fantastic too! I had the honor of speaking with some young women who were truly touched by it. That’s the thing….the healing the church could be offering requires that we allow people to be open and honest about where and how they are hurting, which can sometimes be deeply personal and not all that pretty. πŸ˜‰
I’ve been on that side, and this. And so to hear a message like yours and see God moving so many to do as Christine said…..we who have been rescued have a responsibility to reach out and rescue…..thrills my very soul. πŸ˜‰

Thank you for sharing! Look forward to how we can all help as a community next year!
    Rooted and grounded in love,

My son (23) attended Passion 2012 and I traveled with him since he was going alone. He absolutely loved it! He was really blown away by Francis Chan and John Piper. I dropped him off and picked him up each day and it brought tears to my eyes to see these amazing young people hungry to deepen their relationship with the LORD. Praise God for this event. We do need to pray for those who attended as we were under attack during the trip.

    Beth,
I was so hoping you would post an update. Thank you. It pricks my heart. I consider it a priviledge to have been a prayer partner. Yes, this epidemic of slavery and human trafficing is deplorable. Yes, we need to do something. I watched some of the conference online. Amazing! To God be the glory! We gotta love these young people and their boldness. They still need our prayers as they go back to their worlds. Not everybody in their sphere of infuence was on the mountaintop.

I am so very thankful for the video streaming. When we moved to our church last year & my husband made plans to take this college group to Passion 2012, I fully intended on going with them. But as life would have it, it just wasn’t workable. It was such a blessing to be able to listen in amidst motherhood, and my kids loved the worship too. When I showed my 6 year old a picture of the hand sculpture and what it stood for, she excitedly gathered her recently acquired tooth fairy money plus some money from her “sharing” bank and was adamant about using it to help stop slavery. That made my heart smile HUGE. And when she came home from school that day, she had more change in her coat pocket that she had picked up off the ground to give to freedom.

My personal favorite was Session 5 I think? Whichever one it was where ya’ll were just reading straight up scripture. Powerful truth.

And if I could only explain to you what my husband shared with me about how God opened peoples’ hearts to adoption in their community group… it was insane. It would be really long to explain all of the details but it is toO good to leave out all together so I will try to sum up: He used several stories in the group to open one couple’s heart to the point that they got online and started their paperwork that very evening. He used our story to minister to a couple and help them reject the fear of not being able to love an adopted child as their own and they now are called to adopt. He used Christine’s story via online streaming & a wife to open up a husband’s heart to adoption. He used one couple’s story whose adoption from another country had stalled out entirely to minister to another couple who was having a hard time in the waiting… and within a few hours while they were still at the conference that couple whose adoption had stalled out received a phone call that the country had suddenly decided to get things moving again & push their paperwork through & they are flying out in 2 weeks! God is able!

I was sooo excited when I saw the name of the girl pop up on my computer screen. A name I had never seen before but who I would now become zealous in prayer for. I was praying for her before the conference started and that was wonderful. But oh….wow….as I sat at my computer and watched the sessions and was blown away at Gods hand in motion….I had a name. I kept saying it over and over duringt the sessions. Out loud. I was giddy thinking about what God may be teaching her….showing her. Thank you for such an amazing opportunity to share so personally in the event. Had it not been for praying for her….I probably would not have made time to watch the sessions. I have 2 and 3 year old boys and me being on my computer is not high on their priority list:) Christine’s message rocked me. I can’t get over it. I don’t want to. I am praying for what I can do to help.

In an unrelated and totally non spiritual note. I googled living proof today to get the web link quickly. Needed to send a question via email. I was able to catch parts of Passion and I LOVED it! The worship was awesome and the messages were too! Our Church started a “Solemn Assembly” this week. A time of prayer and fasting for the next 3 weeks. So when I wasn’t working or at church I was trying to watch each session of Passion! Seeing ALL the young adults worshiping and praying was so great to see! I know God is so happy to see so many people pressing in and crying out to Him! He has really been working in my heart to intercede for so many broken hearts and for many physical issues! And especially for everyone to know Him and have His Peace! This has been an awesome week of seeking His face! I did catch a little of your message Beth! And it went right along with our Solemn Assembly and touching the hem of His garment! The song “I’m not ashamed of the One who saved my soul!” keeps running through my head!!! Thank You Jesus! I will continue to pray for all the Siestas that were able to be there! Beth,
One of the verses I chose to memorize for 2011 with our wonderful Siestas is Micah 6:8 from the NET Bible. “He has told you, O man, what is good, and what the Lord really wants from you: He wants you to promote justice, to be faithful, and to live obediently before your God.” God has been dealing with me about promoting justice. While at NRB this year, I purchased a book about the sex/slave trade called The Berlin Turnpike: A Story of Human Trafficking in America by Raymond Bechard. I encourage you to get it.
I am going to Moldova this May to hold a women’s leadership training conference to introduce your “Jesus the One and Only” translated Bible study in Romanian. Moldova is the epicenter of human trafficking in Europe. Some of the young women who will be coming have been rescued from trafficking and horrid lives in orphanages. Thank you again for all the years of love and sacrifice you have given to bring these Bible studies to women of the world.
Love you and love the LPM team!

    Dear Beth Moore,
I am one of the 1,000 scholarship girls, that were able to come because of God and your wonderful generosity…
I am the one that spent all afternoon looking to talk with you after the message you spoke that morning and during the lunch-in was able to catch you for a few minutes before it started… I still am unable to express what a blessing and how much my life was touched by what God spoke through you on that day and how much getting to speak with you even for those few moments touched my heart in a way that could never be expressed by words… Thank you for having such an obedient and servant heart for the Lord, and a willingness to do and speak all that He wants you to say, He truly used you as a great vessel to pour into my life during the Passion week and my life will never be the same… God is so good!! Thank you again!!! And praying many blessings for you and your family in return!!!

I was one of the blessed 1000 girls to receive a scholarship and I could not be more thankful. Passion 2012 was genuinely one of the greatest weeks I’ve ever experienced. I feel the change in my heart, I feel the change that has been made in my life to live fearlessly proclaiming the gospel. I feel like I have been brought back to life, praise be to God!
Beth, your talk resonated with me most of all, I think. I felt then that I need to take this secret sin I’ve been living with in my heart and give it up to the Lord, reach out to Him. I cannot be unclean enough to mess up Jesus. There is no sin too big for the cross!
I cannot thank you enough for your generosity. Thank you for sharing your gift with all of us and for speaking to my heart, Beth!

Oh, Laney, we are so glad to hear from you! We want to be good big sisters to you. Praise God that He spoke to you there. I am honored to be your servant. Know that we are praying for you. I am thinking about maybe doing a livestream with any of you girls from Passion who would like to participate just to check on y’all and see how you’re doing. Would you at all be interested in that? Just a half hour?

      • Lindsee says:

Oh! I think that would be SO fun! : ) But I’ll let Laney speak for herself. : )

      • Kali says:

Umm…I think that would be an awesome idea and I’d totally sign on for that. But like Lindsee, I’ll let Laney answer since you asked her. πŸ™‚

Laney, I think I was the one praying for you. I only say this because your name is unique, and out of 1000, I’m assuming there was only one of you with your name. I am praising God that you had such a blessed time at Passion! I will continue to pray for you that you will continue in His grace and not let Satan suck you back into feeling hurt or shame. You are a daughter of the King!!

How much fun to see the 1,000 women!!! I am SO exited about how God moved at Passion!!! WOW!! My daughter went and was telling us all about it tonight. I loved how the kids all prayed around the hand for slavery to end. I am just in awe of how God poured open the floodgates and blessed Passion above and beyond!! HOW AWESOME is HE!!! I loved watching online and was so blessed by Christine Caine. I had never heard her speak before and was SOOOOO convicted! I prayed on my walk that afternoon about what I could do to help because as she said, “Compassion is ACTIVELY getting involved….allowing yourself to be interrupted.” I also loved your talk!!! It was a great message!!! Thank you so much for all you do!!!

Watching the live stream and the video sessions that were kept up for 24 hours was a HUGE blessing….can’t imagine actually being there live.I was blown away by every message delivered. There will be a great kingdom fallout from this conference! I am so excited to hear that Passion is coming to my city (Vancouver) for one night this March 23rd….please be in prayer for our city/young adults. SO EXCITED for them. (I might just have to volunteer so I can be a fly on the wall!). Just a heads up to those interested…passion offers for $25 a digital access package that will include all of the messages and other stuff…check out their website. They will send you a hard copy dvd in March too. Blessings to you all!!

I so wish I was in the 18-25 age group. Would love to go to Passion, but I’ll settle for watching the live streaming.

I was all about the focus on slavery they had this year. When I published my Legacy Bible study, I decided the tithe from the sales of the study would go to Wellspring Living here in Georgia. Mary Frances and her team do a magnificent job ministering to women and girls in the sex trade industry. I’m thrilled to support that wonderful ministry.

I just got finished writing a blog post on what I felt God wanted me to focus on this year and it was justice with the focus verse being Micah 6:8. Then I came and read this post! I love when God confirms things in my heart! Human trafficking is sickening and God does not want us to turn a blind eye to this horrible injustice. Thank you for the update!

I did the livestream of Passion 2012 as much as I could. I was BLOWN AWAY by what was going on in that Georgia dome. The speakers were incredible, and I sat here at my computer with tears flowing. I could only imagine what it was like being there. I am so glad these 1000 girls got to attend. I pray it completely changed their lives.

Dearest Beth Please tell us how we can help and what we can do in our own community. I am so excited to see what God has in store for his children for 2012.
