Live Stream Tomorrow on Prayer, Anyone?

Hey, you guys! On our introductory (and impromptu!) live stream last week, I told you that I thought we might focus on prayer during our next one. The beginning of a new year is a great time to get strengthened and encouraged in our prayer lives! If you’re like me, you could always use some cheering on in that vital spiritual discipline. It’s fairly safe to say that, in day-to-day practical living, we are only as strong in our walk as we are in our prayers. A healthy prayer life is essential to abiding in Christ. I also love to hear the approaches others are finding effective. So, what do you say we hit this topic tomorrow??? (God willing, thank you, Book of James)

For all who are able, hop on this link tomorrow from 10:30 – 11:00 AM Central Standard Time and let’s talk about prayer.

Last week we intentionally limited the invitation to our blog community because we were doing a trial run for live stream and because sometimes we’d like to seize the moment to just be together as a community. This one (tomorrow), however, is wide open for anybody so you’re welcome to get word out. It doesn’t matter if they’ve never been on a blog. Anyone is invited to join us.

OK, then! We’ll talk tomorrow! And, while you’re at it, pray for me as I prepare to talk to you about this subject. Let’s even pray about prayer.

God’s riches in Christ Jesus to you today, Sweet Things.

Beth – I love this idea! Would you consider making it available for replay for those of us with children on the west coast (as in they will most likely be ransacking the craft supplies at that time, and that requires supervision!) Of course, I am going to try make it work regardless!

Also, I just read Jesus the one and only as I was healing from major hand/wrist surgery in December and when you described Jesus’s wounded hands and I looked at my bandaged one, and thought about the pain WITH meds, I lost it. Thank you.

Replay would be so appreciated as I would love to hear what you have to say about prayer (I just started a group with some friends where we hold each other accountable to carving out time for this very spiritual discipline). But unfortunately I already an obligation at that time.

    Hey! Beth!
Was so impowered after the last livestream. I asked for prayer so I could witness effectively and wow! Don’t even know if anyone saw what I had written but something happened cuz I was so bold in my testimony it sent chills down my spine!!Now, it is never easy to witness to a nonbeliever but when the person is your doctor whom you entrusted with your care for years and he deals in mental issues daily, it is extermely daunting. He was very intrigued and says he has never seen a case like me ever in his practice. So, bring it on! I am all for prayer helps! Wll be there!!!Betty M

I will be at work but I will be praying for an awesome Holy Spirit filled time on the Internet tomorrow!!! I will look forward to seeing the video also!!! Our Church is doing a “Solemn Assembly” and prayer and intercessory prayer especially is definitely on God’s mind right now, I believe!!! Every where I look or everyone I talk to is so desperately in need of miracles and God wants us to ask Him for those miracles to be done so He can show off His Power!!!
I love this blog!!! And I love you all there and especially I love Jesus!!!

Holy God, I ask that You give Beth an extra measure of Your Holy Spirit. Give her a supernatural ability to hear Your Voice and the words, the message You have on Your Heart for all those able to join in the blog prayer time tomorrow. Tomorrow help Beth to focus on what Your are speaking into her heart and leave all the mechanics & technical stuff to her staff. IN Jesus Mighty Name, Amen

I’m bummed! I’ll be smack dab in the middle of a meeting at that time but would love to submit a comment if I may. Beth, you have stated in past posts that you hesitate to recommend books, but I am reading one that has helped me to grow in the area of prayer and has freed me up to think “out of the box” in awareness that it (prayer) can be “a way of living” life!!

The book is called: Opening to God, by David Benner. Sooooo…just putting it out there and hoping for a wonderful time and God’s annointing as you teach on this vital and necessary subject.

Beth, I love the sisterhood (or is that siestahood?!?) that has formed from your blog. While I’m blessed to have a Scripture Memory partner, I discovered your blog too late to join the Siestas but have been so encouraged by their posts. Can’t wait to participate in the prayer focus this year and see God do amazing things (Eph 3:20). Blessings to you!

I am so excited about tomorrow’s live stream on prayer. I truly feel it is the most important work we do as followers of Christ. I did attend the last live stream but I missed some of it as I had several windows opened and heard an echo for about 20 minutes until I figured out that I needed to close all but one. As you can probably guess, it was my first live stream. Oh, well.

Bahahahahaha! I love your comment, Amanda! I was able to join the launch live stream also (from work) and was checking out my monitor to see if there was a camera and wondering if my phone rang in the middle of it if everyone would be able to hear it!

    Rosa says:

Wow, this sounds awesome. Wish I wasn’t at work and hope it will be recorded and available later.

Regarding approaches to prayer I’m trying a new one this year – blogging 365 days through Operation World. God is teaching me much as our online prayer community comes together around this amazing resource through the blog and a facebook group. God is so creative! (and you can feel free to join us!)

I will be there with bells on and this fits perfectly with week 6 and day 5 in the Believing God study. Also with kicking off a year of 24 more verses. I am so grateful for this kick start. God is speaking I am trying to abide in him.

Taking my youngest to music lessons at that time but, if I can get it on my Blackberry, I’ll be there! Just yesterday, I phoned a prayer line here in Canada needing intercession for my pastor’s 10 year old daughter who was having surgery for a brain tumor (please, please pray with us). The lady that was on the other end of the prayer line….WHOA….could she pray. I so deeply want to interecede like that. Teach me, Lord. Praying for you, dearest Beth, as you speak words of truth and guidance.

Oh Beth, how wonderful is technology! I likely will be in the throes of parenting a 3 year old and unable to attend but I am praying for you! In fact, I am the prayer coordinator for your LPL Kansas City event coming in April and our precious steering team lifted you and Travis and your teams in prayer for quite a while this morning from KC! We are praying Ephesians 3:20 like nobody’s business until we see the harvest our Father brings!

    Kim B. in AZ says:

Sure wish I could meet up with you all. Prayer is something I need to work on. I, however, will be taking my youngest to the doctor 2 hours from home. If you all could please pray for that apt.I would be so thankful. She was diagnosed with Addison disease Chritmas 2010. (Some of you may remember me asking for prayer for her at that time. She was flown to the hospital by helicopter at that time.) Anyway, she has to have blood work done every three to four months and this time some of her numbers are a little low. Honestly, it makes me a little nervous. So please pray for wisdom for the Doctor and peace for me and no health crisis situations for her.(She is 13 1/2 years old) Just thought I would ask since you guys will be learning and talking about prayer. Thank you in advance.

P.S. She has been doing very well this last year, which I am very grateful for.

      Karene says:

Hi Kim, I will pray for her, and you. My dad was diagnosed with Addison’s over 30 years ago, and he has been doing great. I will pray that your daughter’s numbers get to the right place, and for peace for you.

      • Kim B. In Az says:

Thank you for praying for her. I posted a reply with how things went. It is nice to hear about people who are doing well with Addison’s and have lived with it for a long time.

      Kim B. in AZ says:

Just thought I would tell you guys what happened at the doc. yesterday. He did not seem overly concerned about the changes. He was, however,a little perplexed about one of her numbers because it did not match the other but decided that her brain was happy with what she was getting so he did not change that med. He did up one of her other ones to try to bring up one the other numbers. All in all we were please with the out come and much relieved. My daughter is tired of all the blood work and doctors visits. (She gets blood work done every three of four months. This time we will redo it in a month.)But knows it is necessary for her to have good health. Please keep praying for her. It is just a lot to ask of a 13 year old. Thank you all for praying.

I am not as sad as one would think, unable to participate because I will be starting James, Mercy Triumphs with my Ladies Bible Class. I will certainly add you to our prayer list. ๐Ÿ™‚ There are 3 different church’s Ladies Bible Classes starting James, that I know of in our town, this week and next. One Tuesday, one Wednesday, and another Thursday morning! Hallelujah. Praying God’s Word has helped me pray God’s Word so I am a teeny weeny bit sad I will miss the live stream I know it will be good.

I can’t wait to join this one! By the way, I saw your tweet today Miss Beth. Please don’t EVER stop sharing, in your perfect, Holy-Spirit inspired way, the different ways God talks to you. It is an encouragement to the rest of us that we are really hearing Him. My 9 year old son just prayed for a lady in a wheelchair at Walmart. He said God told him to, and I believe him!

    Heavenly Father,
We are humble and honored to be able to come to You in prayer. We lift You up with praise. We praise for Jesus and Salvation. We thank you that You take the time to listen to our prayers. You care about our hurts, our pain, our sorrows, our joy, our everyday lives and You care about our hearts enough to heal us. Thank you for your mercy and compassion for us.
We thank you for Beth and the Siesta Sisters that seek You and Your righteousness. We ask that You fill Beth with Your Words, Your joy and Your truth as she leads us. We ask that You fill her with Your wisdom and knowledge.
We ask that we will be covered in Your love and comforted by Your presence. We know that Your ways are perfect. We thank you for Your guidance.
God, we love you. in Christ

yes! really excited about this. i have been trying to open my home for a women’s monthly prayer breakfast and have no idea what i’m doing. i’m no prayer expert and could use some ideas on how to navigate and implement and encourage these sweet ladies by praying for one another. all i know is that i desperately need to be before Him in prayer with my sisters and that they need it too–life is HARD, too hard not to pray.
    see you tomorrow! eeee!

I will just be praying for you and hope to pick up info later:)

Oh, I’ll definitely try to be around again. I think I’ve worked it out correctly – that there’s 6 hours difference between Houston and England, so it will be 3.30pm here when it’s 10.30am there. I shan’t be bathing any children at the time of the day…so no distractions!
