Thank you so much for sharing all the good news, Beth!
Happy birthday to Amanda! I am so happy that the three of you get to spend the day together tomorrow. You all deserve a fun day off. I am praying God blesses you abundantly with all sorts of delights!
Yay for James! I just signed up to do it starting Nov. 7th with a group at a new church I’ve been attending. Looking forward to making some new friends there.
I so love to hear you say you love us. We love you too! π
I just loved and appreciated this little pep talk. I needed it : ) Happy Birthday to your daughter. I have two young adult daughters, one working and one in college and they will both be home for the weekend which doesn’t happen nearly often enough. Enjoy your girls day!
Thanks, Beth. Needed that today!
Rejoicing with you in everything God leads you to do and giving Him praise! Excitement has overwhelmed me just thinking of how God blesses all of us with His goodness and His righteousness. How wonderful is our God who pours out abundantly and overflowing His love toward you and your ministry so others may be blessed! God bless you! How precious our God is! His lovingkindness is like a song in our hearts and glory to Him.
__Just cannot wait for that new Bible Study in James. I have lost count how many I have done of yours, but I am very grateful for the time you spend and the work you do to help us learn more of God’s word.
__A “special Happy Birthday to Amanda” You are wonderful mom and woman of God.
~Will pray for your family for Keith’s mom, for Melissa, your sister Gay, and for you Beth.
I am still working on things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report and praiseworthy. (my Bible verse)
__You are near to our hearts__in Christ
Well, my goodness…i have tears in my eyes. Hormonal or simply needing some reassurance to just “hang in there” and know that I am loved. We are all loved and I thank you for caring so much about me and all of us.
Have a beautiful week with your girls, Beth. So much to celebrate and enjoy. π
Praying for LPM always!!!
Love you all~
Fran
So many exciting things happening! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing in life with us! I am grateful for you!
My Mom and Dad’s names are John and Sue…that is so fun! I think that’s what you said your in law’s names are.
Have been savoring Jesus all day long!
Hey there,
Your great news of going “live” hit home with me today and I realize that I no longer want to be a very devoted “reader-only” siesta! From now on, I will be brave enough to leave comments. Cannot wait for your “next step”!
Incidentally, having memorized all of James, I am going crazy trying to wait for that study to hit the shelves! AND I so appreciated your encouragement to the gals who are struggling with memorizing scripture. I, too, have struggled so much. I think your sweet words are just what they need.
Melissa
Nice to hear from you Beth! Looking forward to the James study, can’t wait! Now need to find a women’s group that will offer this study. My very small church doesn’t have a women’s group (yet).
Looking forward to the live steaming!
thanks so much for reminding me of 2 peter 1:13. a couple of years ago, i was on a team that joined with a local church ministry in Germany for a year. that verse was our team’s ‘theme’ verse–something we memorized and quoted often to keep our focus on God. and while my time abroad was difficult, God’s Word became the solid rock of my life.
Thanks Beth for all of the updates. I am especially excited about Passion 2012 because my 19 year old daughter is going with a friend from college. The scriptures I have memorized have TRANSFORMED my mind, thank you Jesus. Looking forward to meeting my Siesta Mama and Siesta Sisters at the SSMT. I can hardly stand to wait…
P.S. Will pray for Melissa-my honor π
Thanks for the updates AND the encouragement.
Okay I dug out my scripture memory cards… I’ll do what you suggested and find a chunk of scripture.
On a different note since you shared about your sweet family… mine could sure use a mighty prayer tonight. Tears being shed, let me tell you.
Thanks Mama Beth!
I’m so grateful for LPM π
Thank you! Not to be stuck on 20 questions but is there anyway you would be willing to share your lipstick colour? I am loving the new shade … and I think it would suite this “blonde Beth” too.
Happy Birthday Amanda! Enjoy the celebrations π
Love y’all! … and praying too.
P.S. Can’t wait for the new study.
Beth,
I just have to say a loud Amen and PTL to your encouragement to stay in the Word! I “borrowed” your verse, Ps. 25:15 this time and it has been just the encouragement I have needed from the word and my prayer life. It is hard to say, “I continually look to the Lord” without looking to the Lord! See you in January!
Um, could you be any cuter?
James has been in the distance for ever and ever, and when you showed that study to us, I literally had my tummy jump in my throat, November is just weeks away!!!!!Days away…oh the delight I can’t hardly stand it!
I’m so desperate for a fresh WORD from God, I’m so desperate for a fresh Work from HIM…nothing is like a fresh Biblestudy book waiting to be dived into! AAAHHHHHHHH
Love all you LPM staffers, I cannot wait to see your sweet faces in person soon! Yay!
Happy Birthday Amanda
Been praying a lot for Melissa…fyi
SO excited Hawk came for a visit…
Love love love y’all!!
What exciting news all around. Happy Birthday, Amanda! Prayers for Melissa for sure. Can’t wait for January and live streaming. Hope to be able to do the live streaming, that will be so cool. As far as the memory verses go it has gotten tough for me in the last month since the passing of my dad. It very unexpected and I love and miss him dearly. With Gods help I will succeed. God Bless everyone!
I love the way you talk about your daughters.
Mama Beth!
I love hearing from you, and hearing about all the wonderful things happening with your family! I can’t wait until the livestream thing! I just did that with Priscilla Shirer for the 1st time Monday night for her book club. What fun! We were excited that she did it at night so the girls who have to go to work & can’t do it during the day could participate, too!
I wanted to tell you the COOLEST thing God did the other day! I went on-line on the day you had the 20 question thing. I missed the deadline, but I asked a question anyway. That night I watched the intro dvd session to the Stepping Up Bible study we started at church. I was astounded that you “answered” my question on the dvd.(I had asked if there was anything we could pray for you for). I just looked up at God & said, “You are SO COOL!” And then,of course, I had to go face down on the floor & have every day since! What a difference! Thank you for EVERYTHING you & the other ladies(& men) do at Living Proof! I love you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much! Have an awesome week & weekend!
Thank you SO much for your encouragement to “catch up” on the scripture memorization. I confess that I have only memorized 6 this year so far. After losing my precious mom in December, my 23 year old son was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia on Feb 28 which is the same day my mother-in-law was diagnosed with a quick growing non-operable brain tumor. She passed away on July 11, but my son is being healed in Jesus’ sweet name and feels so much better now than he did a year ago. He and his wife had a son (my first grand baby) on July 25 and my daughter is due with her first in November.
Whew! What a roller coaster of a year this has been! But my very first memorized scripture was Romans 15:13 and I have clung to that throughout the year.
Now I plan to find that “chunk of scripture” to memorize for the remainder of this year to get caught up so I can attend your celebration!
God bless you, your family and your ministry!
What great news about passion 2012! I am so looking forward to the SSMT celebration! It will be a blast!
Ms. Beth, It seems that we have spent much time together over these past couple of days-you just didn’t know it! I’m finishing up the “Daniel” study (doing it by myself) and wacthed session 11 last evening..then started “A Woman’s Heart-God’s Dwelling Place” this evening at my church as part of a women’s ministry study…and I just watched this video. Your hair looked good in all 3 videos-how do you do that??:)
So, my small group of ladies were watching the “Daniel” series today on Session 5 and we all got Serious, I mean Serious Goosebumps!!! In Session 5, it’s describing the writing on the wall with King Belshazzar and the date that was given for it on the video was October 12, 592 BC. Was very very odd to be in a choir room in the back of a church doing this study on October 12, 2011…we all watched the walls very carefully π I am learning daily through this study to be thankful and grateful for where I am and who God has made me to be. I am learning to only take and answer to the name that God calls me by! Thank you!
Oh MY! I CANNOT WAIT TO GET MY HANDS ON THAT JAMES STUDY. It is so pretty!!
(btw your nails look great!)
I have just realized that in adding my verses to the app on my phone…they have not loaded onto the lproof site. So I will be going back through and retyping them all. Sigh.
Live Stream is so exciting! Praise God for equipping 1,000 women!!
Mrs. Beth, you make my heart happy π Thank you for taking the time to do these and I can not WAIT for a live stream! I’m going to have to schedule a work from home day that day π
Oh Beth, THANK YOU for the update and especially for the word on Melissa (which I had just asked about in Friday’s post, so you answered my question right here). The Lord has had her on my heart for the past year in particular regarding the potential for her PhD, and I am just thrilled to know that she is on that path!! I work with doctoral students and KNOW what a grind it is…but also know how utterly suited she is for this calling. Will continue to NOT waste prayers on your 2nd born as well as the rest of you, but spend them wisely π
BTW–what is her field? Theology, I assume.
wonderful update. i can feel your love coming through!! thank you!
Oh, Siesta Momma, you warm me right up! We just love hearing you chat…all of the wonderful updates are so refreshing and such a sweet reminder of God’s good work! I am certainly praying for you all…Keith and parents, you, Amanda, Melissa, the Hubby’s, the babies, LPM staff…just love you all so good! I hope you have just an incredibly blessed day!
PS…Can’t wait to go LIVE! Go Lindsee! How cool!! =)
Just checked the blog (my only blog as I am an “old girl”) no time or energy for any others- so blessed that I was connected to the Siestas.
How much FUN! thanks and can’t wait for the new study. I have no idea how your talent and God’s flow produces such magnificent WORDS – God Bless Amanda and Melissa- those of us praying over the generations are encouraged beyond hope to witness the Moore, Fitzpatrick, Jones families – you grace us dear ones, Love, An Aunt Siesta
Love the 1st Peter verse. I’m rejoicing with you for your sister! God is a God of love and hears our heart’s longing for our families. He gives us joy for sorrows.
Mama Beth,
I am currently facilitating the study “A Man After God’s Own Heart” at my church. It is amazing what I have learned and I thank you for so much all your efforts related to teaching us about His sweet word.
I cannot wait for the James study!!!!
Love you,
Sandra
LIVE STREAM??!!!! You would have heard me squeal if it wasn’t for the family members preparing for bed!
Mrs. Beth, I don’t know if you are even aware how much you bless others with your gift…my sister has coined the phrase “Blessed by Beth” which we say at the end of each of your videos for your different studies. I have a best friend who is serving in Uganda right now, and she is unable to stay connected to you. I have burned copies of all of your blog videos and sent them to her…they are so funny and you always give a word of Truth!
Thanks for keeping me laughing, encouraged, and for pushing me to stay in the Word and go deeper with my Savior.
So excited for the James study!!
Leah
My group of friends and I are also major in love with the praise music of Travis Cottrell. So much so that we have coined the phrase “Touched by Travis”. I hope this gives you a chuckle today : )
-Leah
I just saw you in Baltimore with my mom and sister and we had such a great time! Thank you for sharing Gods word with so many. I have been trying to get out of my “snares” but, I am having a struggle. Lord willing it with come soon. I’m so glad to have found your blog! It’s neat to feel more connected.
Happy Birthday, Amanda! I hope y’all have a delightful day on Friday. Today is my baby’s birthday. He’s 18! As I live and breath. And for the first time in his life, I’m not with him today. He’s on a mission trip with our church youth group. I wouldn’t have it any other way, but I miss him. Fear not π He’ll be home tomorrow evening. And I’m making him my mother-in-law’s homemade roll recipe–among other things. I’d make some for you too, Amanda if I could. They’re like feathery yeast melting in a buttery mess on your tongue. Love you dears!
Hey there Mama Siesta! How I do love when you get on video and chat with us. I am giddy at the thought of being able to hear you chat live. Every video greeting you give us leaves me feeling so loved and so encouraged. Thank you! What a lovely little way to prepare myself to start on my “Here and Now, There and Then” homework. It’s not “due” until Tuesday when my Women of the Word Bible Study meets again, but procrastinating is never a good thing. And oh how I am looking forward to James: Mercy Triumphs”!
Happy Birthday, Amanda and keep plowing forward, Melissa. You are both in my prayers. As are you, Mama.
Hugs!
What a pleasant surprise to come home to! We Siestas love and pray for all of you at LPM as well…..at least this one does!! Thank you so very much for all of your encouragement. You deeply touch, speak to, so many women and I often wonder if you even comprehend how very loved you are, or how many lives you effect. Thank you for being such a faithful servant and allowing Him to reach women thru your teachings. WE LOVE THEM!!
I can hardly wait to have “James, Mercy-Triumph” in my hands! I know small group will love it, we always do. God’s best to you and yours……
Thank you, Beth for sharing all the news. What a happy message, full of life, hope and love.
We love you, too!
Margie
I am swelled up with love for someone I’ve never met, but I just feel like we are best friends. You are amazing. Thank you for all you do for us, Beth. I love the Word because of the zeal with which you have taught us and have taught your studies for the last 10 years.
Sending many cyber blessings your way!
PS. I led a young (26 yrs) girl to the Lord today!
I LOVE your updates, Beth!! And I will pray for you, Gay, Amanda, and Melissa! Oh, and Keith and his parents, too!
I would LOVE to do the live streaming thing! What FUN would that be!!!
Your ministry means so much to me! I have been soo encouraged and challenged this year and I am SOOO GRATEFUL that you laid out the challenge to memorize so much Scripture. I have kept up and LOVE learning more about Him and His Word!!!
His,
Shari
Hearing from you was refreshment to my soul after working a 12 hour shift today. Thanks for sharing yourself so openly with all of us. Could you tell me a little more about live streaming? I know you will be talking live but will we be able to talk with you and with other Siestas? As you can guess, I am a little techno challenged…(still prefer Hardback books to e books and letters delivered to my home rather than my inbox). Can’t wait to get my copy of James. Love to “the village” and my fellow Siestas. Linda
Oh, it was so nice to listen to your message! I am going to be flying into Houston for a few days starting friday (I’m a flight attendant)… I’d love to grab a cup of coffee or something!
Thank you for being a constant inspiration! My relationship with the Lord has been strengthened because of your messages!
xoxo

After reading any blog entry or watching any down loaded video, I love going through and reading the different responses. Yet, I see no responses this evening! So despite my nervousness of possibly being the first entry, here goesβ¦ π
Every time I read or see something from LPM in my inbox, I get really excited and can hardly wait to open it up and read it. I absolutely LOVE seeing and hearing what is going on down there with all the LPM peeps as well as reading comments from siestas! So come onβ¦some one else comment! Iβm looking forward to βhearingβ what is going on with the rest of you! π
Oh, and if it crosses your mind, would you pray I might be able to make it to the SSMT in January? It would take a mighty big miracle but if it is in fact Godβs plan for me to go, it wonβt be a problem. After all, my daddy does own the cattle on a thousand hills!
OK…that was so cool. I really did forget for a minute that we weren’t at a cafe having a chat.
Dear Siesta Mama,
I can not tell you how much your ministry and siestaville means to me. I have followed the blog a couple of years but have only posted once. I have been a “silent siesta” which is very unlike me:) I have signed up for the SSMT gathering and have begun to lose confidence in my memorization skills so you really spoke right to me today. I’m sticking with it and hope to be able to be in Houston in Jan. Love you!
Oh! Beth!
I just think how great Heaven is gona be where after I have talked with the One and Only Savior of my soul and His deciples and an assortment of dearly loved family and friends, (bear with me on this really loong sentence) I want to give you a huge bear hug and thankyou so much for what Jesus has done with and through you to reach little ole me! I had this conversation with God on the way home from our Tues eve Bible study that our neighborhood has had going on now for 5 yrs. We meet and do a study of yours each Fall out here on the ND praires and man these studies just touch my heart and I wish with all my soul I could meet you. I do not think it will happen in this life. If I go to your Lifeways venues there are thousands of others there so it is impossible to tell you in person how much these studies have healed my depression and how my whole outlook in life has so changed. My psychiatrist keeps telling me he rarely sees someone make such a change as I have and it has been through God’s grace through your teaching. How I praise Him for this. I have even thought of saving up money and seeing if I could afford a plane ticket to come to LPM and volunteer for several days and see LPM first hand but that is just a dream right now. Plane fare is so expensive but the live streaming you are talking about sounds exciting. Some of us Seistas just are not gona be able to make it as much as I wish I could but some time! In His time it will happen. I will keep you all in my prayers as I hope you will continue to be used of God in this way for a long time to come. Bless you all! Hugs from the Heartland, Betty M
Momma Beth, we love you too!!!
Live streaming would be so fun! Hope it coincides with my particular version of mom’s day out. π
By the way, thanks to our imaginary day together on your blog last month (?) I finally had that pesky m–ogram. I was ‘symptomatic’ and it took some extra stuff to get a final verdict of ‘normal.’ Praise God for that and for finally being back on track after 3 years without a scan.
I just told you a ton of other stuff in my head, but ‘love you and have fun with your girls’ is where I’ll end!
Thanks for the assortment. I so wish that I could go to the celebration in Jan. I gave on the idea of being there when I lost my note cards.Oh well, maybe next time, if there is one. They were missing for about 3 months. I looked and looked. Well wouldn’t you know it, I found them in the very place I looked the most for them. You might be asking well why didn’t you get another one. I could not remember all of the verses I had posted so that put me really far behind. Anyway, we have had some opportunities to trust God in our day to day and I probably should start memorizing again. I am so glad that God lets us have new beginnings.
A live feed sound so cool.
I hope that Amanda has a very blessed birthday.
What a fun post! Goodness, I feel out of the Siestaville loop. I had no idea Melissa was working on her PhD (woohoo!!) and then a few posts back I inquired what BTSPTB stood for (have I truly been on this site since within two weeks of it starting??) Don’t worry: I made myself do penance for that flub. One thousand siestas at the Siesta Fiesta?? That will be such fun! I’ll bring some yummy canned King salmon — and maybe canned bear to share. Have a happy October day, all ~
Wow, you can’t possibly know how much THAT meant to me. I’m in tears because while I know He loves me, there is something real in the way you love me. I know I wouldn’t know Him as I do had their not been you, so I cherish you. I love you mama Beth, thanks for being so great to us.
