After reading the good news, this song popped in my head and heart. Sandi Patty’s: He’s More than Wonderful..
For He’s more wonderful than my mind can concieve
He’s more wonderful than my heart can believe
He goes beyond my highest hopes and fondest dreams.
He’s everything that my soul ever longed for
Everything He’s promised and so much more
More than amazing, more than marvelous
More than miraculous could ever be
He’s more than wonderful, that’s what Jesus is to me.
Thank you Lord for hearing our prayers!
Thank you Amanda — I am so thrilled that you have a heart for our persecuted brothers and sisters. I love VOM so much — it’s an incredible ministry and has really opened my eyes to the intense persecution that other believers have to live through. Praise our Mighty God that these dear women are free and hopefully home soon with their families!!
And for the thousands of others….Lord, continue to hear our prayers and be glorified through their suffering.
that is one of my family’s theme songs – we grew up singing it and my parents often sang it as a duet together. i needed this reminder today – my unbelief and faith are struggling. thank you
PRAISE GOD!!! That is certainly wonderful news. They have been a living testimony of faith to me.
It is in HIS HANDS!!!!! He opens doors no man can close.
Praise the LORD. May the peace and joy fill them right at this very moment. Fully strengthened in HIS NAME! Thank you JESUS!
YESSSSSSSS!!!!! thanks for miraculously rescuing our sisters, Lord!!!
PRAISE THE LORD!!! He is so amazing! Ever read the book The Heavenly Man? by: Brother Yun? It is about a brother’s experiences in Asia and how God rescued him and the miracles that got him in and out of prisons…I am sure God was completely in control with Maryam and Marzieh!!! It is so cool to see Him working!!!
Oh my goodness!! Thank you, Lord!!

Oh, My- I am in tears about this glorious work of our Lord- I had a bit of a “trust” issue regarding this particular situation. My sons are similar ages and my heart was broken over the suffering Maryam and Marzieh had to endure as remarkable women of our Lord – I believe your encouragement and exposure of this situation ignited our prayers as Sisters in Christ and perhaps those prayers may have had an impact along with all the prayers across the world- thank you so much for sharing this news-My prayer tonight will be for their emotional and physical health- WOW- Glory Hallelujah dear Jesus- Many blessings to you and yours and all at LPM- Kathy Armstrong, Austin
Our God is a God of miracles!! Praise the LORD for what he has done. We will continue to pray for their emotional and physical healing.
That’s wonderful news! Praise the Lord!!!

Praise the Lord. Such courage. Such longsuffering. We in the west have no idea what it means to stand up for one’s faith in some countries. We take so much for granted. This story of Maryam and Marzieh should impel us to pray for our persecuted family around the world. Our prayer makes a difference. Thank for sharing this.
Praise the Lord!!
AMEN!!!
Praise God from whom ALL BLESSINGS FLOW! God is ALWAYS FAITHFUL!!!
Praise the LORD for the encouragement their story brings to Believers in Jesus Christ to be faithful to Jesus Christ NO MATTER WHAT.
For me as well as many other Christians who have lived their lives in America with Freedom of Speech to realize there will be a day possibly in our lifetime, just as these girls have experienced that to speak for Jesus can be an immediate life and death matter.
To Elohim, the Almighty God who has created so many miracles for these ladies to TESTIFY to the POWER of GOD’s LOVE and AMAZING GRACE! PRAISE HIS HOLY, HOLY, HOLY NAME!
This is a Song I MUST SING! TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!

Wow!!! I was just thinking of them this morning and praying that all was going well for them!! That’s great news! Our God is so faithful!!
Praise the Lord!! I was recently with a group of believers praying through Ephesians 2 for the nations and this reminded me of that. We live in a place that has the reputation of being, well, hostile, and I love the picture of all nations being one family and one body and worshiping before the throne of the King. My heart cries out for these people I”m surrounded by daily who are seen as so hostile by the world. We long for them to be part of our eternal family. I count it such a joy when we are able to have glimpses of that incredible reunion in this life! Thanks for sharing this story.
Ephesians 2:19-22 “So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.”
To God alone be the Glory!! Thank-you Father!
Praise the Lord!!!!
Praise the Lord. So thankful for their safety!
Praise God and Hallelujah!
O Praise you Lord for your Mercy! Thank you Lord for hearing our prayers!
He is so FAITHFUL…PRAISE HIM, PRAISE HIM!
God is so good! May God touch these women and restore their health too.
Awesome!
PRAISE GOD!! He is the Almighty one. May his glory shine through these two for His purposes.
Hi Amanda, and Beth!!
I am new to the blog and just attended my first Beth Moore conference last weekend in Grand Rapids, MI- it was so great!!
I just had one quick question- can you recommend any books or pointers for me to use to really learn how to pray? I am struggling to really know how to pray with power, and how to pray scripture effectively. I want to move past my habitual prayers (Dear Lord, thank you for. . . help me. . . in Jesus name, Amen!) Any pointers would be great, I tried the Power of a Praying wife/mother, but found myself just repeating what was written. I want to be able to pray effectively and with power, it sounds silly to think I don’t know how b/c prayer should be such an easy thing, but I want my prayer life to rock and I feel like I’m stuck in a little prayer rut!!
Love your question! I have realized the same need (GOD makes it aware in us) that prayer is more powerful than i am doing. I have a suggestion that I like.
Jon Courson has a small hand held book ($6) called Praying thru the Tabernacle
It can be read in probably under a half hour. It goes thru the beautiful elements of the Tabernacle of the LORD and sets a neat pattern for prayer without making the prayers redundent, as in Jon does not fill in your prayers. If you want to check it out, it is at http://www.joncourson.com/store/books/books.asp
I would recommend it.
I have also learned that prayer is talking to GOD, so HE knows I come in reverence, and HE knows I may not know how to pray, but when I just say that flat out as in “LORD, I don’t even know how to pray it,” HE hears.
When you let HIS presence flood around you, it is astonishing how you can pray for someone, the words just come out and they are free flowing.
Love you siesta and Welcome.

Julie…One GREAT source is Beth’s book, Praying God’s Word…
I leave it in my car as I often get in it during my lunch break or have a few minutes before work to read it…It is fabulous for when I am struggling with something…I can open it up to the specific chapter that deals with what I am struggling with and use HIS words to pray…
Julie,
Forgive me if I’m being presumptious by answering you since I am obviously neither Amanda or Beth. But I think they would concur that one of the best books out there is Beth’s “Praying God’s Word.” It offers chapters on different topics we often struggle with then page after page of scripture related to that topic worded into very personal prayers. I have found it to be a tremendously helpful tool for empowering my prayer life, as well as the perfect gift for those needing God’s Word to apply specific medicine in an area they are wrestling with.
Blessings, my Michigan friend.
Just looked at your blog more closely and saw you would prefer me to go to the LPM contact page or call to get specific answers (sorry I’m a dork, and a blonde- two bad combo’s!!), have a great day and thanks anyway!!
WE LOVE BLONDS HERE! DON’T YOU WORRY! wE ARE GLAD YOU ARE HERE, ASKING QUESTIONS.
MAY THE LORD BLESS YOUR DAY!

Praise God! What a beautiful example these two are to all of us! I’ve always hoped that under such hard circumstances I would remain faithful!

He is soooo Good and Merciful!!
Great is the Name of our Lord!!!
Thank You Jesus for releasing these captives!!!!
ALL The Glory Belongs To You Jesus Alone!
Thank you Amanda for keeping us informed!
Praise the Lord!
OH PRAISE GOD!! I THANK YOU LORD for showing mercy and favor on these two women. I have been praying for them and thinking about them everyday and lifting them up to you Lord Jesus. Thank you for hearing our cries and prayers. When they hurt, I hurt because we are all of one body! May they have a complete physical recovery and use what you have shown them through this to help others and honor and glorify you Father. Oh PRAISE GOD! Amen!
Thank you soooooo much Amanda for letting us know. I usually check Elam web site everyday and I think I missed checking it yesterday. I was buried with garage sale stuff. Thank you again! I am sooooo happy I think I might just go cry before the Lord! Love you sister! ๐
Mary
Thanks for the update Amanda. All I can say is “God is good all the time!” He proves himself over and over again.

PRAISE THE LORD!
How absolutely WONDERFUL !! I am so happy to hear this! Thanks for sharing!
Woo hoooo!!! Thank You Jesus!
Wow! Just reminds how blessed we are here in our country to worship freely. And then makes me feel guilty because I don’t think I proclaim Him enough–in moments that I know I should. Their courage is commendable and very inspiring.
P.S.
Ms. Beth, I am doing your Breaking Free study–this study has become so consuming for me mentally that you’ve begun to infiltrate my sleep! You and that Breaking Free study were in my dreams last night and you & I were hashing out some of my “ancient ruins.” Now you KNOW the Lord is workin’ on you–when He sends Beth Moore to your restful sleep to help you thrash out those strongholds! Love you sister! Thanks for loving us women like you do!
So Cool! I can’t wait to do it, I KNOW I need to. I am going to do it on my own via download. Wish there was a group near me, but I am stoked to do it.
Woot! God is SO good!
Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
Well, I can certainly say seeing this good news after a crazy week brightened my day:) So cool!
Praise you God!!! been praying for these women!
