He is Risen!

Happy Easter, everyone! What a joyous day!

It’s AJ just stopping in to share some pictures with our Blog Peeps.

And by some pictures I mean many more pictures than you’d ever want to see.

On Saturday my cousin Joe, who’s in school to be a fireman, was in town participating in a fundraiser with a local fire department.
Cousin + access to a fire truck + three-year-old boy = no brainer.
We rolled out of bed and headed that way. In fact, Annabeth was still in her pajamas.

I got some fun stuff for my kids from the Target dollar section. Jackson was thrilled that Annabeth “wanted to share” all her goodies.

Those Cadbury mini-eggs were calling my name late last night and – gasp! – I opened them. My excuse is that I’ve been sick and that’s all that sounded good. They were delish.

After attending a wonderful worship service at our church, we went to Mom and Dad’s house for lunch. We were joined by my grandparents, my cousin Joe, and our friends Roger, Lynn, and Michelle. Mom was the hostess with the mostest. We were only missing Melissa and Colin and boy did we miss them!

You never know what will entertain a child. Here Jackson was rolling pieces of Trix cereal down his race car ramp.

It rained and stormed all morning, but then the sun came out and we had a beautiful day. We were excited to have the chance to do the Easter egg hunt outside.

Here’s the Easter Bibby hiding eggs.

All done!

Lynn was helping Jackson go through his Easter eggs when his sugar high kicked in. I now present a photographic series called “Progression of a Mess.” Please hear my child laughing, squealing, and yelling “Surprise!”

To top off an already great day, Curt’s mom just called and said our young nephew, Gavin, prayed to receive Christ last night. Praise the Lord!

I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend celebrating Christ our King. He is risen indeed!

How fun – and how brave of Bunny Bibby to agree to the green Easter grass IN HER HOUSE. I swear, when I used that stuff I was still finding pieces of it by Thanksgiving. Thanks for sharing,

Our family & guests left a little while ago. My mother "grammy" is tucked into her guest room and my sons are back at their apartments (college) with tummy's filled after eating tons of food, candy and goodies!
It looks as though this Easter was filled with blessings from California to Texas!
What did Melissa and Colin do for Easter?

Loved and I do mean LOVED the photos of Bibby hiding eggs and Jackson feeling the sugar rush within his body! Haahahaaa

Looks like so much fun!!! We had an super fun day too- topped only by the incredible news early this morning that my husband was getting on a plane to come home tomorrow! You can’t believe how surprising that was. God engineered an end to his delay that only God could do- none of us in the million years would have predicted the way it all happened and we are thrilled to pieces!

One very funny note- I never bring my cell phone into church for obvious reasons, but today I did since I knew my husband might be calling with news or details of his trip(he’d emailed me during the night and so I was waiting to hear the full scoop of what was up exactly). I didn’t have pockets in my skirt, so I had to leave the ringer on so I would hear it. The first time it rang was during the music- no big deal, but I did walk right in front of the pastor as I walked out the first time which must have prompted his comment during announcement time- “by the way, this is a good time to turn off your cell phones or set them to vibrate.” I thought, well, what if my hubby needs to call me again, I better not turn it off, but I’m sure that won’t happen- I’ll take my chances. Well, during corporate prayer time RIGHT after he made that announcement wouldn’t you know it went off again! God certainly has a sense of humor and I felt embarrassed to the max. Later I explained the importance of the calls etc., but still! Never bringing it in again.

Hope everyone else had a great day- thanks for all the photos, Amanda. I know the importance of picking out just the right Easter dress and Annabeth’s was super cute! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Love, Rebekah

Thanks for sharing the pictures. Especially enjoyed "Easter Bibby" and noticed the little details in the background of one of the pictures like any family gathering with "little ones" there was an empty paper towel roll & cleaner on the countertop. Thanks for always keeping it real!

Too much to comment on !! Bibby Bunny – too adorable !!

If you were in Albuquerque for Easter services – you could hear Randy Travis ( who lives here in Santa Fe ) sing " Three Wooden Crosses " and also do other P&W music. Skip Heitzig helped in leading many to the LORD this mornin' , too !!

    May He return SOON !!

Never too many pictures! I love ’em.

So, who needs cars and candy when you have Trix and Easter grass? Kids amaze me. Parents amaze me more when we think our children “need” all these “things” when all they really want is to have fun. And fun doesn’t have to cost a thing!

Our son is now 19 years old and I am guilty of giving him too many “things.” Thot I was balancing out time with things but not so sure now.

I digress…wonderful pictures- good times, laughter, fun…priceless memories!

Hey Melissa — how was your Easter??

    Bobbie says:

Praises abounding! We got up early to attend our SONrise service (b/c there was no “sun” in sight due to impending storms!) It was a wonderful feeling tho to be in HIS house when it got light. I said a prayer for you all when we drove by your church on our way to League City yesterday. The parking lot looked overflowing!! We had driven through the Easter shower twice by the time we reached HI 10 and got it the third time in LC just before we ate!! It was a great shower, but I was so glad the sun came out and the Houston skies turn a brillant blue. What an Easter!

The fire truck pictures are priceless! That truck was a little bigger than his hot wheels, huh??

It sounds like Easter Bibby did a great job! Love the family pictures! Thanks for sharing!

We were having some moments very similar to that here in Montana. And we had a very thoughtful discussion about green Easter basket grass. It doesn’t vacuum up very well, and makes a HUGE mess. But it wouldn’t quite be Easter without it!

"Like a rose, trampled on the ground, He took the fall and thought of me above all…." Praise God for the life and love He brings as we embrace our Risen LORD and King! Thank you again and again for sharing such beautiful pic's of your picture- perfect family, and your glorious Easter day with all we siestas! Annabeth looked like the little princess she is, and your Easter outfit beautiful too, Amanda! Especially loved "Easter Bibby" and pic's of Jackson searching those delicious treats out.

Here in So. Cal we shared a wonderful morning worship, with decisions at the altar for God's glory, then a big family day with Mexican food for Easter day. Yep…can you imagine fajita's on Easter? It took a long time for me to wrap my mind around it, but that's what our grown "kids" wanted. We had 12 little kids searching out their own colored eggs (plastic kind-color coded for each child from 1 year old to 15!) Then everyone went swimming…that's what So. Cal is all about on a beautiful balmy Easter afternoon! That, and fajita's for Easter? (Next week, I'm having my Kairos Ladies Bible class in for a traditional "Old Ladies and their husbands" one week late Ham dinner, with all the trimmings). To me, it's not a complete Easter without the traditional food.

Sending much love and blessings from So. Cal. and thank you so much for your warm-hearted ministry to us Amanda…Also, loved the pic's of the day with your fireman cousin and real fire engine. How could any 3 year old want more than that?

So much fun! I enjoyed those pictures so much. I’m in an awkward (not so fun) season. The children are all grown, only one married, no grandkids, so we had a very quiet Easter just me and the hubby. We have to adjust to just the two of us sometimes. Anyway, I had a lot of reflection time, (I’m so not use to that) and I enjoyed the company of the Lord. Even feeling melancholy He is the glory and the lifter of my head. Your pictures assured me there are livelier days ahead. Thanks for the hope.

    Much love,

I’m so glad that the sin of coveting is much more than just thinking…wow..I wish I had that great hair and good skin and etc.!

Seriously, you guys..all of you from tiny, precious little Annabeth, to your Daddy, Keith are one beautiful family inside and definitely outward!

Amanda, please tell Mama Beth that if I didn’t just love her to pieces and feel her love for us and for Our Father – I couldn’t bear to have her teach me. She is too beautiful to not bring out the “jealous woman” thing if she didn’t have the Spirit shining through her. That is nothing but GOD!!

Little Mister is too precious for words. He makes your heart just squeeze for little boys that have so much enthusiam and delight at all they discover in the world.

I am so thankful HE is risen! I really fear that in the midst of so much of our daily lives we lose sight of that. I know I do at times.

We don’t have to cry and despair asking,”Where have you taken him?”
We now know and until we fall in HIS arms at the end of our journey, we are HIS hands, feet and voice of love to a very sad and defeated world.

    Love you guys,
    Teri
