Hey, You Darling Siestas!
I only have just a few minutes because…
a) I don’t have much battery left on my laptop
b) American Idol just came on. For all you American-Idol-haters, I’m not saying I’m watching it. I’m just saying it’s on. And it’s top 12 night.
BUT, I had to hop on the blog because I have the greatest news. You’re going to need to sit down for this. Last night we got a whopping $10,000 donation from a Siesta for the Siesta Scholarship Fund!!!! I first wrote “Fun” instead of “Fund.” GIRLFRIEND, LET SOME BIG GIVING BEGIN! THAT’S WHAT I CALL FUN! The way I see it, based on what we now have in our fund (roughly 13,000 after subtracting our giving for ministers’ wives’ event), even if we don’t get another dime, LPM can give away a thousand dollars of materials/tickets a month for the next year. I am so pumped I can hardly sit to type. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I’m going to get to give away some tickets to our New Orleans LPL to some folks who have been financially devastated ever since Katrina. I am beside myself. I am humbled beyond expression to be part of this giving campaign with you. May God bring forth a 100-fold harvest in the life of each recipient and bless each of you beyond belief.
We also celebrated Mister Jackson Curtis Jones’s THIRD BIRTHDAY this week! His actual birthday was yesterday but we had a small family party with four generations of Moore blood Monday evening. We missed Curtis’s family so much. Keith and I love his parents. We’d be such good friends if we lived in the same city. Same weird sense of humor. For Jackson’s birthday dinner, AJ requested her daddy’s famous deep-fried fish, the best home-made tartar sauce in the Lone Star State, corn on the cob, steak fries and home-made macaroni and cheese. (It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s SUPPER-MAN!) It was fantastic. We then put the boy out of his misery and let him open a den-floor full of presents. After we’d made big over his gifts, we pulled out the Thomas the Train ice-cream cake, put on our Thomas the Train birthday hats, lit the big-three candle, and sang like there was no tomorrow. Jackson loved being the center of attention. It was like he’d had some practice.
Honestly, Sisters, that child has been the biggest, most enthusiastic blast we’ve just about ever had grace this family. We are all hopelessly smitten with him. And as for his darling baby sister, she nearly slept through the whole thing – looking like the cutest pink doll you’ve ever seen – so she could keep her Daddy up till 3:00 AM. They do late nights together. But not usually that late. Annabeth is a really sweet baby. She doesn’t cry much when she’s awake. She just wants to keep some folks company. Bibby wishes it were her some nights.
And, shoot-fire before my laptop dies, I love my Tuesday night Bible study group so much! God has blown my mind with the breadth of this inheritance theme. Honestly, it could have been an eight-week study complete with homework. (Not gonna be for now but coulda been) I never would have guessed it in a million years but the subject just got bigger and bigger. God has taught me so much. Pray for me to have ears to hear and eyes to see and the anointing to teach comprehensively what God, in His great mercy, is showing to me. We only have three classes left this Spring. I hate for Bible study to be over!
Well, Keith and I decided to have our own random suppers tonight so he had 2 chicken pot pies and I’m having scallop potatoes and my timer’s about to go off. (Yes, that’s all I’m having for the whole meal. I am the weirdest eater on earth. I have this really simple recipe I’ve loved for years from a church cookbook . I can make the dish with skim milk and 2% cheddar cheese and it’s great comfort food. I add milk to it afterwards and make it into kind of a potato soup. And eat two big bowls.)
And now Star is dropping the tennis ball at my feet. Let me pitch it down the stairs long enough to finish this post.
Lord have mercy. Why do y’all put up with me? This is so random. Terrible writing. No time to edit. But I love you. And I just wanted to say hi. And that all of you are in my top 12.
We don’t “put up with you”! We LOVE you!! Your random posts are hysterical! How could we not love them? Love the Thomas hats, but love the kiddos in them even more! ๐
Praying for a 100-fold!
Praise the Lord. Such wonderful news on both fronts – big bucks and big birthday! I love you and your family. Deidra
$10,000….what a blessing from the Lord and what a generous and obedient spirit. Thank you Jesus.
Wonderful party and beautiful pictures.

It is so neat to think that no one will miss attending an LPL because of tight finances. That’s the way it should be. A touch of heaven on earth. Glory!
First off, Praise the Lord for the humongo donation!! That is incredible! You really have to know that His hand is on the Siesta Fund. Second, Jackson is SOOO cute!! What zest for life. My two little brothers (who are 18 and almost 20 now) loved Thomas the Tank Engine (I guess he has now found a new identity in Thomas the Train), it just about brings me to tears to remember them that young. And also, thank you for another amazing lesson on our Inheiritance Tuesday. It really made alot of things clearer and make more sense to me. I love Tuesday night Bible study! I am learning so much and I can see the effects of it in my everyday walk with the Lord. Oh and by the way, I definately thank Him for sending you to teach me these things. Love you!!

Thank you God for our mentor; Siesta Mama; Bibby; the one and only Beth Moore, she is so awesome and is so faithful to your direction in her life and how that direction has now been given to all of us. Thanks you so much Heavenly Father for all this LPM, Beth Moore, her daughters, and her whole family, and the LPM Blog. All this has brought all your heavenly daughters together to hear and do your will in each of our lives and now we have a very generous sister so that more good news can be spread!!! Thank you again Father. We love you Beth and anything you want to share will inspire us all — including that good comfort food – potatoes!!!! Keep up what you are doing – I too am taking the Esther study and have been greatly inspired to find my purpose and plan given to me by God’s awesomeness – Thank you God.

Praise God for the donating siestas! Please Lord may it be a 100 fold harvest to all involved.
Beth – You are so in my top 12 too! Thanks for sharing and being such a hoot!
Happy Birthday Jackson!
Beth-
I just wanted to say thank you for the great idea of the scripture memory verse posts. I am not participating in the memory verse activity, but have been experiencing some very tough times with my 3rd pregnancy. I have found many pieces of scripture in your posts that have been reassuring to me and given me a sense of peace and strength. It is amazing how the Lord draws us closer during our toughest times. May God Bless you all.

Whoa!! What a wonderfully random treasure filled post!
How awesome that Siestaville is coming together in such an awesome way, so outrageously giving. I knew this blog family was special, but WOW!
And that Jackson…Happiness is just oooozing from that little mister. Toooooo Precious!
Thanks for sharing.
Blessings,
Marita
You know what is sort of weird but hurts my feelings? Jackson doesn’t look like a baby anymore. He’s a big boy.
It’s weird because I don’t even know the child, but by pics.
What am I talking about? I’m weird. And praise God for it!
Happy Birthday, Jackson!
What a wonderful donation Thank the Lord and the seista that gave. God Bless you.
I have been waiting for a random catch up so I could say something about something but forgot what it was !!! dang it. I was thinking about it on the way home from work last night, then here is my chance and forgot.
I watched you Beth on LIfe Wed. with Beth You looked so nice with your pink blouse and brown skirt and your lesson was right on. Trust. and I do trust the Lord with it all every bit of it.
I would like the tarter sauce recipe !!! Scallop potatoes I could eat the hole pan full. I am so hungry now !!! I will probably have to fix me some this weekend.
I have a new grandbaby I’m going to go see tomorrow with his great grandma. I haven’t seen him yet. His daddy is my step son. My late husband just keeps on giving through his kids. I have 6 grandkids and they all are treasures.love them love them.Only they live a little far I don’t see them as often as I’d like. 50 miles and 100 miles .

$10,000?! Holy Crockaroli!! That's AWESOME!! Way to obey, Siesta!!
And I have to tell you, Abby's comment was the testimony of so many of us. We love you girls (Beth, AJ, Melissa, and Staff), but we love each other, too. And I LOVE THAT. So does God <—- He loves Him a big Siesta love fest, I believe.
Amanda, Annabeth is adorable as is her big brother!! I’m so happy for you all and hope you are getting some sleep.
Happy Belated Birthday, Jackson!!!!
Dear boy, it seems only yesterday I was sitting in a huge arena in Birmingham, Alabama. Your Bibby had the most exciting news. She was so happy and excited I thought she was going to burst at the seams with joy. Finally, she was able to share the wonderful news of your birth. Bibby was walking on air that day and I don’t think her feet have touched the ground since that special day of your arrival.
Beth, thanks for the random update and for the birthday photos. I love hearing from you. What exciting news about the SSF. So many dear women will benefit and be blessed. It is exciting to see God work.
If you get a chance, I would appreciate your prayers. I am at home this week recovering from surgery.
Love,
Mary
God is sooooo good, isn’t he? Praise His name!
Praise God for the Siesta donation!! God will surely bless her as he has blessed the fund.
Loved the update on the birthday party and of course the pics are great.
Beth, thank you for being so real. To often we think of people more highly than we ought, put them on a pedestal so to speak. But you are so grounded it just amazes me. You are the best!! No wonder God continues to speak through you and use you to teach the rest of us. We love you!!!
Blessings,
Bible Bunny in No MI
P.S. We are getting another winter blast. Temps in the teens and snowy like crazy and blowing…..,.
Come on SPRING!!!!!!!!!
May God bless the gifts and the givers! Your random thoughts are so very welcome and entertaining! I too can eat just potatoes for dinner…yum!
Your grandkids are something else, cute as can be.
Hey Beth–We love Thomas at our house too… in fact the 4 year old boy, and the two year old girl fight over the trains…
Also wanted to say thanks for all your great material. I’ve done Breaking Free minus the videos, Believing God, Jesus the One and Only, and Daniel. I wanted to let you know that I teach 9-10 H.S. students on Wednesday nights. I “stole” (giving proper credit of course… I’m a former English teacher) some of your content on what happens when we treat the holy in an unholy manner (a talk on purity)–we even watched a snippet of the video and the girls this week wondered if your thighs were any firmer–and also some stuff from Believing God (in love, I am blessed, chosen, adopted…etc) in our study about worth. Good stuff… I did adapt some of the questions from the Daniel study to fit our young ladies too. It was a blessing to go back and study it again and then to share it.
We are so blessed to be able to sit under great teachers via technology: you, Dr. Swindoll, Dr. Jeremiah… etc. Thank God for Christian radio and television. You and your team bless so many–and educate us too!
Happy Birthday Jackson!
Darlin’ pics! Love your hats! ๐

Psalm 36:5-6 NIV – Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the great deep. O LORD, you preserve both man and beast.
Precious Beth and all we Siestas living in “Siestaville” (I cracked up at the insight of one of our precious Siesta’s at that one on this Post!)…anyway, back to my random thought: “All we Siestas living in Siestaville are doing the Mexican Hat Dance in Praise and Worship for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in fun and funds for our SSF! Jumping for joy, we see the reign of His Spirit coming down to bless so many.” I finally figured out a way to legitimately give to SSF. We share dinners out and save the money and send it in. My man has been a “good Baptist boy” and tither since he was 12 years old. He’s in control of the monies spent, and I enjoy the wisdom of it all…we do come into agreement on giving, but He has the final say. We are now retired and have been since 55 years old because of his wisdom and biblical finance we are enjoying financial freedom in our “golden years” and we can still do the Mexican Hat Dance! Yes, it’s true! Welcome to Siestaville my good ol’ Baptist boy! LOL! “Love finds a way…”
Hugs in Christ to all my Siestas,

Beth my friend (I can call you that because you ARE my friend), the thoughts in my brain scatter so much these days, that I’d be hard pressed to comprehend a “normal” post by you. Love you guys dearly!
I could not get over how the close up of Jackson eating cake looked so much like Amanda.
And Beth, I personally think the Thomas the Train conductor hat is quite sylish on you. I love the up do with the clip and you’re ready to ride the rails.
We had Patriarch’s last night, and it was our turn to do the food for the entire Bible Study. (Potluck style)
Oh my! Our theme was “Comfort Foods.” It was stupidly good! We had Tunda Casserole, Mac and cheese, potato salad, pasta salad, artichoke salad, lemon cake, chocolate cake, cheesecake, chili, green beans. There is nothing sweeter and more hilarious than seeing 70+ women all oohing and ahhing over their dixie plates.
What a blast!
Beth,
One of the things I like so much about you is your honest open blogs. Sister you are so hysterical I love every minute no matter how terrible you think the writing is.
The party sounds like a blast. Celebrating birthdays is one of my weaknesses too. Never want to stop, because its a celebration of the Life given by the Giver of Life. So precious, no matter what!
Oh, an how I love calloped potatoes. Don’t you just love the crust on the top? Yes thats one of life’s great tastes!
February is such a great month for the Moore family with birthdays and anniversary. Hey…PARTY PARTY PARTY!!
Love and prayers always

I love Siestaville as well, young and older ones:) You have all brought a smile to my face at one time or another…my veteran siestas, its amazing to think we have all been apart of this SO long!
To those of you I am just getting to know, each person I meet from this blog, or along the way in blogworld…just makes me love HIM more!
Thank you for loving Him!
and thank you for being an amazing friend to me y’all:)
Love you ALL so much!
BTW, Y’all who never got to hear Shelly’s voice before…go to her blog:) I just laugh out loud that God gives such amazing oppurtunities to reach across the nation…blogworld could have been something meant for bad, but God made sure was meant for good and to glorify HIM!!!! YAY!!!

Oh, Miss Beth, you are so the “real deal”, and how we all love you. Just when we think we have completely failed Him – AGAIN – you show us that we can surely pop right back up again and keep on going. Praise His Name !!!
And “Esther” is FAB-U-LOUS !!! Can’t wait for the new Breaking Free, also.
Many blessings to you and yours.
Love, Susan
I dare say Beth, that in the picture of you and Annabeth, she just might look like her grandma! I think she does anyway! I know you are so proud! She’s adorable and so is that little Mister Jackson!
PRAISE THE LORD… May He bless both the givers and receivers abundantly!
I’m a big fan of random comments myself, so I loved your post. In fact, I was telling my friend last night that when I had the same thought brought to the forefront of my mind every day for a week, I knew it had to be God because I can’t hold on to my own thoughts that long!! Praise God, He hasn’t given up on this scatter-brained child yet.
I’m so excited for the SSF. I wish I had something to contribute but we’re just barely making it at my house right now. Still, I am with you in prayer and that counts too, right?!
Hope Jackson had a really great birthday. 3 is such a fun age, and as a mom of a 6 year old boy, I can tell you that Thomas is one of those toys that are actually worth spending money on because they don’t wear out easily and they can play with them for years. My little man still loves his trains, and he got his first Thomas set the Christmas after he turned 2.
Just out of curiousity, will there be some kind of Siesta get-together at the LPL in New Orleans? I’d love to meet some siestas face-to-face!!
Thanks for being such a blessing in my life and the lives of others.
Random is good, Beth. Keeps us ALL humble before the King! Looks and sounds like you had a special ‘treat night’ along with the rest of the Moore’s! God bless you, Sweet Siesta Mama!
Looking UPward and Choosing JOY,
Stephanie
[Time to FLY]
I luuuvvvv your randomness
You just made me laugh.
Thank You.
This is sooooo awesome… wow.. The Lord is really doing a great work.
And Happy Birthday to Mr. Jackson… that is such a fun age…
Love you all
Lichelle
I love that you are so real and not a “celebrity”… I am blown away that you allow us into your family.
So – how do we nominate our Pastor’s Wife??? Ours soooooo deserves a break!!!!
Precious, precious, precious!
Beth, you are so REAL!! You are like having a new best friend in my life! Hugs, Pam
God is so good! All the time!
I cannot tell you how complicated this last year has been. My husband is a pastor. He resigned from his church in March and sat unemployed for four months. Not only was leaving a difficult and painful thing…being broke and broken was another kind of devastation..
How would we ever bounce back is what I asked myself over and over.
But I trust Him and know that He has my best interest at heart.
Ministry is amazing! We love serving….but it is also difficult at times.
I would so love to be a part of the wives conference giveaways. I’m so excited for a chance. I would flip out…..if I won.
Love you people at LPM.
I’m happy about the scholarship fund. : ) I went to the LPM event at Saddleback Church a number of years ago and wrote a comment about the cost on my evaluation sheet. Well, I received a long letter from Lifeway (I think) suggesting that I save a few dollars a month toward the ticket price next time! So it’s nice to know that some women who can’t afford a ticket will be able to hear Beth and Travis in person. Blessings.
Beth, I dont know what it is (yes I do) but in every picture where you are holding that new baby, you look about 16 years old yourself! Not even kidding. I cant wait for a grandbaby!
Praise Jesus for the donations that are coming in! That is awesome beyond belief.
Let me tell you that Jackson is one of the cutest little men I have ever seen. It looks like everyone enjoyed his birthday so much. My little one just turned 5 in Jan. My mama was right…the time goes so fast. I could have gotten into that birthday dinner! Fried catfish and mac ‘n cheese, be still my heart! One thing is for sure, my hubby will never have to worry about me blowing away in the wind!
God bless you all.
Jennifer in Mechanicsville, VA
I remember when you found out your daughter was pregnant. I was at a women’s conference here in SC. You told us about Praise Dancing with GrandMamma (I guess you would call that Bibby, now).
Are you doing lots of praise dancing with him and little Annabeth?
I wanted to tell you how I love our Scripture Memory. I love the system we use. At night I lay down with my littlest boy and review my scriptures. His favorite is Heb. 12:1. He says, “I love that one!”
Thanks for leading us. I love you too!!!
