Christmas Tour of the Office

BooMamaChristmasTour

We’re joining BooMama’s Christmas Tour of Homes on the very last day! I think she’s closing the links down any minute. If you’d like to take a peek at tons of beautifully decorated homes, hop on over to her site and visit some of the blogs listed. You’ll find lots of Siestas on there.

Welcome to LPM! Here’s the front view of our office, which used to be a home. Hopefully that qualifies us for the tour of homes.

Front doors

Entryway

Our beautiful tree

The boardroom and our banqueting table. I love the chairs.

Fireplace

Each of us has a stocking hung on the mantle.

A little tree in Diane’s office

Another one in Evangeline’s office

The water cooler in the resource room

Did you know that our resource department is named after the wonderful Mary Helen Davis? LPM would not exist as it does today if it weren’t for this wonderful lady and her tape recorder. She used it to record Beth’s Sunday school lessons for years. We love you, Mrs. Mary Helen!

Jingle bell tree

Some little angels

This is not really a Christmas decoration, but we bought it at a Christmas market last month. I LOVE it!

We have several of these for all the fun cards we receive.

A fresh wreath

Outside on a staircase

The fireplace in our ministry director’s office

Some bling on Beth’s desk

The fireplace in her office

Merry Christmas from Beth and Starsy!

Oh it’s just lovely! What a beautiful place to work. Beth, I love your bling!

    I can’t believe 2 things:

    1. How green it is. We’re freezing and covered in snow.

    2. How big Queen Esther (Star) is. How did that happen?!

Have a wonderful, blessed, Merry Christmas LPM and my Siestas!

Thank you for walking us through your home away from home. I love it!
I was blessed last week with the birth of a precious grandson. I told my daughter-in-law it gave me a fresh understanding of Jesus coming as a baby. She wondered if He woke up every 45 minutes through the night wanting to eat.

Every ministry needs a “home” and yours is simply beautiful. God always gives us what we “need” but isn’t it grand that He also gives us what we “want” deep down in our hearts. I love ya’ll so much and miss being at LPM.

Merry Christmas LPM. What a lovely place to work – I can imagine that the “mood” of your office is just as beautiful as the decorations!

I know this isn’t related to your post at all but I have a suggestion for an upcoming blog entry…. I am currently doing the Esther study and I am soooo curious as to the behind the scene writing of Beth’s studies. Like, do you research and write as you research or wait until all research is done and then write? How about the videoing… I understand that is done at the end but then you make references in your daily lessons to what you said on the video?? Just curious as to how it all works!!

Also, I have a couple “historical” questions regarding some things in the Esther study I would love to ask Beth or Melissa!!

    Dear Gang,
Thanks for sharing your gorgeous office with us, makes me feel more ‘part of the family!’ I especially loved the cross and sword on the stairway wall. Could you possibly do a close-up of that? I’d REALLY like to look at it closer!!
Merry Christmas to my unknown though known friends at Living Proof Ministries!

I love that cross too, Amanda. I got a smaller one in similiar style but just in a brass color in Nashville this summer. I love it.
And those glass Christmas trees on top of that fireplace are so elegant. Love those too.
    Thanks for the tour.

We haven’t had time to decorate yet, so I’m enjoying that I can enjoy OTHERS’ lovely decor!

It’s made our holidays so much more peaceful to have a “we’ll decorate when we can” attitude. For too many years, I was stressed and cranky about wreaths, etc.! How silly.

When God’s Word and peace invade our lives, He helps us live our OWN lives in HIS ways, according to HIS timing!

Thank you for sharing these lovely, lovely photos!

How nicely decorated there in Texas. The snowman looks a little out of place with no snow. We are freezing here in South Dakota with plenty of snow for a white Christmas. You are all a great blessing. Thank you so much. Wasn’t Star just a puppy? She is growing so big.

It is gorgeous! I cried at how beautiful it is! I loved the stockings. I am hoping to get some cut and sewn for our family. We thought we had some but must have left them back in the states (we’re missionaries in Guatemala). I love the different colors. I think I will do the same! It was a lot of FUN putting all those decorations up I bet! What a blessing from God, the whole office, and thank you for sharing it and glorifying God with every inch of it! Have a blessed Christmas! *hugs* – Jackie and family

Ya’ll just make me want to move to Texas and work there.
I could lead spontaneous praise dance, my singing voice, however, is another story.
I would be willing to work for free, if I could just empty the trash and read all of Beth’s Bible study notes (I did not mean that in a stalker-ish way, I meant it in a sincere, let me sneak a look in Kay Arthur’s Bible kinda way!).
    The fireplaces are my favorite.
Have a wonderful Christmas party in the office!
Can we hear from Melissa soon? She always makes me think in a way that I am truly challenged!

Wow!!! everything looks wonderful and festive. I love the decorations this time of year!! And Thanks for putting in your new “girl”. I have just started Esther, and saw the pic of Jackson with Beckham, too cute 😉 but wondered (having done soooo many studies and events w/ Beth) when we’d get the update on “star”. also Geli 🙂 (being a Weim mom and all myself) praying for the Christmas holiday to bring peace and rest to all. Every time I hear someone say Emmanuel i think of Beth and can hear her saying, “He is the With of God” Thank you for your consistency in a world full of inconsistency, we are but foreigners traveling. I had to throw that southern twang in there like that, as it has only been 4.5 years since I lived in Houston for 8.5 years… =)
    ===================================
    Lord God,

Please help all of those sisters out there who still have parents, etc., to be able to show Your love to them, if nothing more. Please help us all to love one another as You would have us do this Christmas season.

Kindle relationships that appear to have no human “fixes” to them, please, O God Most High! Help everyone to come to a realization of just how very special families are [biological and/or spiritual ones, etc.], please.

And, please help those of us who have had family members and/or close friends pass away this year to find peace and joy in the “coming of our dear Savior”, as we celebrate Jesus’ birthday in these coming days and weeks. And, please give us the strength to show our feelings if/when we need to do so, even if, like my dear Daddy, our loved ones are in Heaven with You, oh sweet Jesus.

I, for one, know that I will miss my Daddy until You allow me to meet him again up There, in our “real Home”. But, help us to grieve as people who “have hope”, not as ones who do not. Help us grieve as only You would have us do so, Lord Jesus… Show me/us how, please … In Jesus’ Name, I pray these things. Amen
    ===================================

And, since the Lifeway Forums do NOT seem to be operating correctly at this point in time, I have a prayer request that I would like to share. I hope Y’all do not mind…

As many of you know, my “real” Dad passed away 9 months ago come Christmas Eve Day [on March 24th, 2008].

However, this prayer is for the dear man that I met in Houston, TX, while renting a room across the hall from him for about 2.5 years. His name is Larry M. Larry is 3 years younger than my own Dad, and he more or less took on the role of becoming my “second Dad” ever since then. And, the two of them actually got to meet once, and became instant friends, as they had both served in the Army in Korea at the same time.

Well, I just talked to Larry on the phone today, and he is NOT doing well at all.

He just came home from the hospital once again, after a 2 week long stay there. And, he was too weak to talk to me very long today, so I do not know the details. He is 75 years old now, and has been in the hospital for heart related issues more than he has been at home over the past few
    months.

One very good thing that I do know, is that if he were to die any time in the near future, he would be “going Home” to meet his/our Savior, Jesus, just like my Dad did. And yet, I know that it would be very hard for his sons, daughters in law, and young grand children; and for me, as well. However, if that be Your will, Father God, let it be so, but please do not let him pass alone, without having his family near him. And, if it be Thy will, Father, please allow his family to spend one more Christmas there in Houston with them, so they can make some more precious memories…

We love You so very much, Lord !!!

Please help make this season special in some way for each one who reads this blog, and for those of whom You know that I am praying for in my heart of hearts, Lord.

Help us to recognize the value of each member of our families and friends, and to truly learn to “celebrate” in ways that bring glory to You, O God. Amen
