OK, I don’t have ten seconds to be on here today. I mean it. Not ten seconds. I’ve got to write all my intros and outros for the Breaking Free taping so don’t even think about tempting me to linger. But what I saw on television this morning while watching my usual half hour of Good Morning America and putting on my mascara should not go without comment. Did you know that you can now purchase shoes that automatically work out your gluteus maximus when you walk? And that’s not all! You can now buy Splenda with a gram of fiber in it.
I’m just saying.
Yeah—I sell some shoes like that through Avon! Good stuff!
I also sell a coffee cup that will stir in your cream and sugar at the touch of a button–but at $10 a mug, in this economy, I think I’ll have to save the money and pull out my old-fashioned spoon. 🙂
Oh Beth, thank you for keeping us informed. Now are you going to try these out for us?
You crack me right up!
NOOOO WAY!! I’ve gotta get me a pair of those shoes! 😀
I’m just sayin…
Why is it this post just makes me giggle?
You are too funny! I love it!
Someone told me today about those shoes and I told her that the wonderful conference coordinator we at American Christian Fiction Writers use has been wearing them for several years as she raced around our conference hotel. She swears by them.
I seen those shoes on tv and I also send them in a health magazine saying they didn’t work…..
About the shoes…..yep, the work your muscles, muscles that you didn’t know you had. They are called BMTs…..at least that what the ones I have and am familiar with are called. Check them out: http://www.swissmasaius.com/ They aren’t cheap, but then what is cheap that really works.
They are especially wonderful if you have knee pain. Pretty amazing to walk almost pain free, almost immediately. They recommend that you break them in slowly — I recommend that also. I LOVE mine!!
About the splenda………..oops, gotta scoot….just drank some tea sweetened with splenda. LOL!!
you are so funny. 🙂
I was reading the blogs and thought “oh goodness” M. Fitts decided to read your blog today of all days! TeeHee! You are covered in prayer, Beth.
ardI like the chair idea!!!For those of us who “office walk” all day, and the Splenda, magnificient!!!Just one more way to drop your blood sugar…
Will be praying much next week!
Darinda
Oh the innocense of youth. Being regular does become a BIG deal as you get older. I don’t know if the 1 gram in Splenda will really help though. Anyway God is blessing the ladies at my church through Believing God right now. It is amazing. Have a blessed weekend everyone!!!
You know Beth, I’m still waiting for someone to print a Bible study with self-brewing coffee before each day’s homework. That would be a huge time-saver for me…
Oh my you crack me up!!
Oh my, you just crack me up!
…I need to find these shoes…
SO good to know. Do you remember what the shoes were called or where they sell them?
Beth, you never fail to amuse me or challenge me and very often, both!
Thanks for the info!
Christine
Can you imagine hot chocolate WITH FIBER – Hello! It’s now a health drnk!
I saw last year on Good Morning American that they make a camera that deducts 10lbs from your body…never did find that in the stores though!
I’ve been wondering if those shoes work!
So sorry you closed comments on the funny stories–I finally remembered a good one 🙂
PS–I bought “Esther” today! Don’t know when I’ll get to do the study but so exciting!
I think Bath Works sells those “Fit Flops”. I saw Avon’s too.
People don’t really realize how important fiber is to our diet. A great book to read about it is the Fiber 35 diet. Fiber is wonderful!!
Beth you are too funny. Here I thought it was going to be a serious post or something, not a funny post on fiber and tight buns!! LOL
You all shut down comments muy pronto… as for a house united, be patient and you get it, for real, without biting of lips… if you promise to be quite, which is like asking the sun not to shine…
if you promise to shhhuish, shhhuish for now… look at what is happening under the radar… a referendum here (almost without press)because of a tear everywhere, and some really terribly hard hearts, the hardest (hearts you could never reach, no offense) turning with the seasons, if your quite, patient, and keep your cool… you just might see, some ways being made straight…
you might just begin to see the difference; it is not a religious plan, the Spirit is always a damper on intolerance.
And with willingness, disciple (not what you thought it was), and labor you’ll see the Presence of God, not the edifice of church. Through fellowship in places of good will people feel safe to work out their problems– that has always been the Great Reality, envisioned by the All Powerful Creator… is not that how you came to Christ, not the habits of a child (that’s beautiful and treasured)but the contrition of an adult (the real deal)?
People don’t trust, in a place of judgment. God wants to see people’s hearts, NO ONE has sunk too low, but moral distinctions, petty rivalries and jealousy are obstacles to the work “at hand.” This is how people have made their own misery, that is a tough realization, and the consequences will last but they will soften over time… God does not ordain evil.
As a Friend said to me– “Being wrecked in the same vessel, being restored and united under one God, with hearts and minds attuned to the welfare of others, the things which mattered so much, once released, free people up to signify something, Someone greater, whether they realize it, or not. How could it be otherwise?”
Remember; keep it quiet, beginnings if born in humility, if they are honestly made by a people, have, over time, a very Great Effect… and once felt, it is difficult not to comment. But that is necessary in order to cease the opportunity in the moment to earnestly to re-appraise motives, so that priorities can be righteously re-ordered for the long journey ahead.
No talk, talk, talk or think, think, think that is what went wrong; look, look, look, and feel, feel, feel as a good beginning leads to action that will require right-ordered senses, where faith ceases to be an emotion or theological abstraction. With open hands and earnest heart faith becomes the principle sense. This Right Faith is the purpose of God’s action; it is very much like a spiritual homeland. Faith is not, as so many have bewildered them-selves to believe, a purpose for their actions, a magical source judgment and power—that is playing God. His motives are not ours; let Him be who He is, that means Judge and Power, and sister-momma I promise He will not disappoint.
Ezekiel 28:25-28
Hi All,
On an entirely different note “Esther: It’s tough being a woman” came out in the market Thursday (at least in Lifeway Stores in GA) and I bought my leadership kit and am so excited!!! I was one of the first one’s in the store to get it… I feel like I hit the jackpot!
This must mean we can get healthy while not getting any calories or having to do any extra work!
ONLY IN AMERICA! 🙂
LOL.
Be in Jesus this weekend Siesta’s.
Oh Beth I love you!! Thank you for making me laugh tonight. I needed it. You are a blessing!
Beth: What a happy and blessed soul you are!
With all you have done and accomplished in your life, you still find joy in the “little things.”
YOU ARE A JOY!!!
And I love you for it!
Georgia Jan
ohhhh…that is funny! Thanks for the laughs today mama beth! On this day that marks a new year of my life I so need something to make me laugh! Just have to say that when I found out that I share a birthday with Mr. Billy Graham I was overjoyed…God continually gives me special little gifts and this one is one of the most special!
Splenda with fiber…oh that explains why Northern came out with 3 ply T P.
Thanks for the laugh today.
You’re the best Beth! Thanks for the chuckles. Hmmm, how about shoes that work the abs and tummy too. 🙂 Not more fiber, Please!!!!
Blessings to you with your taping and all.
I will find a deal on those shoes for ya’ll for sure!
Just because I can’t stop myself from writing this, The Makers Diet says Splenda is very modified and unnatural and you should avoid it like the plague. Adding fiber sounds strange, coffee does the trick for me without any added fiber. lol
~The Bargain Shopper Lady
I love you, Beth. You just make me smile!
I’ll be praying for you all next week.
I have read about the Splenda, personally I prefer organic agave. The shoes sound great. What a great idea to supplement my daily workouts. What are they called?
Blessings,
Mary Ann, a siesta in MN
They can put fiber in Splenda.
Can they put Splenda in my fiber?
I am thinking of ordering my coffee at Starbucks “double shot nonfat latte with triple fiber” … that works for me!
The Lord has obviously spoken.
And hopefully I will listen and will soon have a fab gluteus maximus.
Ok, we all know the Halloween Candy bowl will put a huge damper on that, but it’s nice to at least think about having a fab gluteus maximus.
And the fiber in the Splenda….I really have no words for that. Need to ponder on its weirdness for a little while….
Mama Beth, the tennis shoes you mention are all the rage amongst the MANY London commuters — and not just women! the sole of these shoes are ‘convex’ so to promote a ‘rocking’ effect of your own sole as you walk, run or even stand (thereby using muscles I didn’t even know I had!). that said, my commuter train is starting to feel like an amusement park ride with all this rocking !

Oh Beth…you are my bright spot in this day. Those little tidbits are not lost on us siestas! Thanks for sharing. I am suffering a miserable cold and could use some cheering up.
Smiles from Colorado.
You are always great for a smile, Beth! I love the lotion that takes of cellulite while we sleep….that is what I would like to try. Wanna bet it doesn’t work!
Blessings and prayers for a powerful week in N’owlins….preach Him loud and proud. I’ve got several Siestas going and have told them to enjoy being “Marys” while we “Marthas” are keeping the world turning. LOL Can’t wait to hear reports of all God shows up and shows out in that place.
I saw that too! Do you watch GMA in the mirror? 30 minutes of GMA with my coffee (after my time with my Lord, OF COURSE!) is my little piece of heaven before my kiddo gets up. And Splenda with fiber! What will they think of next?
And Beth, be honest, would you actually wear those shoes? They were kind of, well, ugly.
Too stinkin’ funny!!!
I love it!!
Gluts and fiber…a natural combo for a blog post!! Lol!!
Um…i’m just wondering why it takes you the full 30 minutes of Good Morning America to put your mascara on. I mean I know it’s important, but if you have that many eyelashes I want to know what vitamins you are taking!
How can I find out if you might be coming to a place near me? Is there a schedule of up coming events? Can you post it online? I am really feeling the need for a “live dose” of Beth.
Thanks !
Sher
Yeah about the Splenda! I have a feeling I couldn’t afford the shoes though! And I need them!
Stevia is a healthy choice when it come to sweetners 🙂
I’m just sayin !!
Praying for your weekend . Love you all
Pam Southern In.
Blessings on the updated Breaking Free. The first one put a new meaning and a new way of seeing Isaiah 61:1-4 that I have not forgotten. I want to be a planting of the LORD, an oak of righteousness! And I just saw a commercial about Splenda with added fiber. I bet it sells!
To Grumpy Pants–yes, when you’re over 50! LOL!
I am going to search the web for these babies!!! I can use all the help I can get!
Thanks for the tip.
Off topic…but Beth, be sure to head to Cafe Du Monde and Mother’s Restaraunt while you’re in N.O. Don’t forget to soak in all the great architecture, accents, jazz music and genuine love in the city. I ADORE that city!
Oh My Goodness! Breaking Free was the first study I lead back in 2001! Have been doing 1 or 2 a year since then. We did A Woman’s Heart, God’s Dwelling Place, the original version 3 times! The ladies and I and a few of their husbands, built replica’s of the ark of the Covenant, the lampstand, the altar of incense, the table of shewbread. it was an incredible experience. in 2007, we did the newest version and remade the lampstand and the veil. awesome. we have learned so much from you, Beth! Love the Greek and Hebrew words in all the studies. my friend, Mindy, and i still say ‘dunamis’! Love your ministry and love God MORE because of your studies.
Unbelievable!
Thanks for taking 10 seconds to share!
Amazing! And I saw this week that foot odor could be resolved by soaking those dogs in a big bowl of jello….JELLO!!???
I am just saying!
Beth, I got my ESV Study Bible, thank you again. I can’t wait to “wear it out”.
Lauri
I love you guys when you get going! This is almost as funny as the netipot! Blessings on siestas who can laugh together, I need it! Beth, you are grounded, so grounded!
I’m just sayin..
