Happy Thanksgiving Week!

Let the giving of thanks and the feasting begin! Happy Thanksgiving week, everyone! LPM is closed for the week, so I’m not sure how much activity there will be on the blog. I definitely want to take advantage of our five days off. What a blessing! You know what is so awesome? My hubby has these five days off, too! So for the first time in our marriage, we have a whole week off of work to just spend at home. We are normally in Wyoming or Missouri for Thanksgiving, but this year we just get to have a staycation.

I feel certain that these three things will happen this week:
1) Our Christmas lights, Clark Griswold style, will go up. Curtis normally does this over a span of several days. Our little oak tree was completed last night. I’m looking forward to seeing his “vision” for our new house come into fruition.
2) I will make butterscotch haystacks with the intention of taking them to our neighbors. Hopefully I won’t get lazy and keep them all! That would not be good for Pregnant Girl’s figure.
3) We will get some work done on Jackson’s big boy room and the baby’s nursery. And by work I mean we will order some furniture, which we should have done long ago.

As for the rest of the Moore clan, my parents have been at their ranch since Friday. I spoke to my dad this morning and he said they weren’t ready to come home and, in fact, they just wanted to live there forever. (My mother later debunked this statement. They’re coming home tomorrow.) I simply cannot imagine my mom living in a place where there are no people to witness her good hair days and well accessorized outfits. She needs witnesses! And I’m not talking about deer, steer, and wild hogs.

Melissa and Colin are saving their travel days for Christmas, so they are not coming home for Thanksgiving. We’ll miss them so much, but they will be spending Thursday with some dear friends and will have a blast.

Also – this is so exciting – Curtis and I are expecting to get a phone call any day that his sister is in labor with her firstborn. We can’t wait to meet our sweet little nephew.

Have a great Monday, friends!

I have much to be thankful for this year too. Although it has been a year of great losses, it has been a learning year for me and a year of growing closer to the Lord. For that I am so unbelievably grateful.

God bless all of you this Thanksgiving week.

Happy Thanksgiving to all in Siestaville! I just love this time of year! I’m very excited about decorating for Christmas as well. My four year old and three year old boys are more excited this year than ever and this is the first Christmas for our baby girl. These past few days as I think about Thanksgiving and what being grateful truly means, I have been overwhelmed with how truly blessed I am. I have been reminded how you can’t be unhappy and grateful at the same time! When you think of all we have to be thankful for you just become happy!I want to always be grateful and happy! I’m so looking forward to cooking Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas decorating and the annual Christmas Parade…but also for my date with my husband this weekend…my 10 year High school reunion! May we always give thanks in all things for we know they work for the good!

Thanks for filling us in on what your family’s doing this week. How fun to have a week off with Curtis! My kids have the week off too, and my husband plans to take Wed. and Fri. off. Looking forward to some relaxing family time.

We’re thanking God that our house was spared in the recent fires in our Yorba Linda hills. This is one time we’re grateful we don’t have a large home with a view. But many homes were lost and those families could use our siestas prayers!

    Have a wonderful week everyone!

At my church, it is a tradition that everyone has the chance to give a testimony about something they are thankful for– we do this before the sermon begins. I just wanted so say that I heard some pretty amazing testimonies. It also got me to thinking about things I’m thankful for. I feel like I’ve grown so much since this time last year, but I still have A LOT of growing left to do. I’m thankful for such a patient, loving Father. I’m also thankful for all of the amazing people He has put in my life, whether I know them personally or not.

I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving!

i pray you all have a wonderful, restful, pleasant, Thankgiving staycation or vacation, whatever the case may be.

we have so much to be thankful for and i count LPM as one of the most amazing blessings of all! what would we do without you? sure, we’d study God’s Word and love Him. but, with the testimony and inheritance you present to the hungry siestas life just wouldn’t be the same if Christ hadn’t worked the miracles over the ministry the way He has.

it’s an honor to grow with you and all the siestas in Jesus. Praise His holy name!

Happy Thanksgiving Blessings to all of you and the Siesta's!!!!

As I was traveling from the California central coast to the central valley this morning, something spectacular happened. It was overcast and cloudy ( rain forecast) and my husband put on Christmas music … Well, Each time a song would mention CHRIST ~ the sun would shine through the clouds directly into my face. It was glorious!!! I am not exagerating this ~ it happened every single time! I also got to see deer and hawks!!!! OUR PRECIOUS GOD WAS TRULY SHOWING OFF FOR ME TODAY!!! It was the best Thanksgiving & Early Christmas blessing I could ever imagine!
How fun to hear about your celebration of "Clark Griswold style" Christmas lights, the haystacks~ yummy!! I would rather share hugs than my food when I was pregnant with little ones!! ๐Ÿ™‚

My family will be celebrating at Grammy's home ( my mother) and my two sons will join us from university along with my brother, sis in law and adorable~~~ YES adorable 6 year old nephew!!
He invited "AUNTIE" to attend his Thanksgiving program on Wednesday morning in a little town called Springville. I am sure it will be glowing with sunshine from our CHRIST!

THANKS for the GIVING of LPM!

    Nichole's Mom says:

I didn’t comment earlier, but will now. I just wanted to share something that happened this morning. I was talking to a young friend of mine in the grocery store, he’s a distributer. We were talking about his little girl and how sweet she is. He mentioned that he doesnt get to see her enough so I told him something that had recently been revealed to me (I’m slow). Our pastor was teaching on the Lord’s prayer and said that “Our Father” translated was “Abba” Daddy for us, and that we are supposed to think of Him in that way.

Jesus gave that illustration so that when we prayed we would have those same tender feelings towards God that we do our fathers. So I told him to be sure and be that sweet father to her so she could have that frame of reference. I believe from the minute Christ uttered those sweet words the enemy has been on the war path so that our thoughts of our dads would mar the thoughts of Abba. Am I making sense? I didn’t have warm thoughts about my dad for years…

Well a lady who also works there was listening and she came up to me and hugged me with tears saying thank you for sharing that, so it made me want to share it with you all too.

Love you all, Happy Turkey Week.
