Meet the newest member of the Moore family, little miss Queen Esther “Star.” She is 7 lbs. 2 oz. of fuzzy border collie joy. You can see in the pictures below where she gets her name. We are in love with our little Star!
Star and Jackson are already getting along quite well. They are learning to share.

YAY!! I am so excited for y’all!!
Congrats to your new addition! She is sooo cute!
I’m so glad you got a new puppy, I’ve been praying for ya’ll to get another one. I was crushed after my Choclate lab was killed she jumped out of a window and was hit by a police car.I was pregnant with my fourth child at the time which made it worse , I was so attached to Her. Her name was Cocoa. I got four doggies now and wouldn’t trade them for anything. Just a quick question how big do they get ? She is too cute. Much love to both of ya’ll . Enjoy Her!
She is adorable! We used to have a cat named Queen Esther. We called her Essie, like from the Esther Veggie Tales movie. My daughter was three when we got her and called her “Keem Etter.” Everyone called her Essie except our very eccentric veterinarian. He thought Queen Esther was a glorious name for a cat and would only address her as such. Essie has passed from this world . . . . but thanks for bringing the sweet memories to mind.
Have fun with your little Star!
that picture of Jackson and Star is just a hoot.
Yay for STAR!!! We had a border collie named Rugby.. they are the BEST. He went off to live the ‘good life’ on a horse farm in Illinois when we THOUGHT we were moving – God had other plans! Anyway.. Rugby was a WONDERFUL dog, but he is pretty much in dog heaven now.. and that’s what is most important!!
love ya,
Linda
I’m just sitting here giggling thinking what “Star” would post if she could type. I’m sure her sweet heart is totally in love with you and your family already! Give her tons of squeezes and tell her “Aunt Twinkle” loves her name. It’s fits her quite well.
Oh, I could squeeze her. And Jackson in the crate is awesome, too. Why is it that kids want to climb in dog crates? Mine love them! And laundry baskets, too.
Welcome Miss Star! The new official mascot of Siestaville!
Congrats on your new baby girl. She is a doll!
Dearest Beth and family –
Congratulations on the newest member of your family. What an adorable blessing from the Lord!!
Much love,
Sharon, NC
What a cutie Beth!
Star reminds me of our puppy days with our own beloved Border Collie, Jessie. Congratulations…life is about to get MESSY! My advice: GET A FRISBEE AND FAST! Actually you’ll need several b/c she’ll chew right through them. Fetch takes on a whole new meaning with a border collie. Have a blast! Sarah in Missouri
Congratulations! She is so cute!
Our border collie always has to have her hand on any part of our body! A gift for you who misses your precious two! You will love BORDER COLLIES!!!!!!! So happy for you…
Well, Praise God! for bringing another beloved animal into the Moore family. I can’t think of a better name than Queen Esther “Star.” I can’t wait to hear “Star” stories in Bible study. And I can see that Star has let Jackson know who is boss! Sweet blessings to all of the Moores!
Hope you enjoy your border collie as much as we enjoy ours. Chase has been a member of our family for 7 years – just be careful….he lives up to his name.
Keep an eye on Star.
She’s adorable! Congratulations on your new addition!!!
I cry.. So sweet.
Iris
Ha! What a cutie! I hear border collies are bundles of energy–she is going to keep you busy!
“Woof” in welcome to Star from Lilly Belle and crew here! We are so thrilled for you all!
Praise God from Whom ALL blessings (and puppies) flow! I am so happy that you have a new Star in your life. What a blessed dog!!!
I have two precious shih-tzu dogs that I absolutely adore!! One was a birthday gift for our first shih-tzu on the occasion of his 3rd b-day. As the second dog got a little older, he really showed signs of wanting to be alpha dog. The first one, Scout, has such a sweet disposition and spirit.
A couple of weeks ago, I prayed with Arrow, the second dog, to invite Jesus into his heart. His attitude has changed so much and he is getting along better with his brother.
God is so good!! Thank you, God, for giving us furry four legged friends!
Star is a beauty!I knew it was just a matter of days before a new dog would move into the Moore home.
I’m surprising some friends and family by getting a new friend (Boston Terrier(. I’ve been waiting for Peggy Sue for several weeks. She will be coming home on Friday–also a little black and white beauty I can’t wait!
I LOVE the pics! Cute dog! Love the last picture π
“Star” is just so adorable! I love dogs! We have two. Lacy is a Brittany Spaniel and the sweetest dog ever! She’s 9, 40 lbs., and went blind about a year and a half ago. She’s doing fine though, except when she runs into walls and still LOVES to go for walks. Our other dog, Sydney, is a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever(a hunting dog/lab mix–full of energy!!!!! She’s 3, 40 lbs, and loves to swim in the pool and chase tennis balls-she never wears out! She would love to play with “Star!”
OH she is sooooo cute!! She’ll probably try to “herd” you like our little girl did. Love border collies. She almost weighed as much as my granndaughter did who was born in April! Hard to believe she was once that small. π
Congrats!!
Love,
Lelia
Beth and Keith,
CONGRATULATIONS!
I was unaware that border colies hunt birds(smile Keith). I am also married to a bird hunter, and you know what this means… Keith will be getting a new dog soon also, because hunting season is just around the corner. You also know all bird hunters need at least two dogs, so one can rest while the other hunts. But this is not a bad thing; so now you will have three dogs barking while you are on a phone interview in the closet(you can handle it). I can see though how irisistible Star was when you got her. It will be nice for you to have a dog that doesn’t take off hunting in the neighborhood every time you open the door. (I envy you there) I am truly excited for you both, and you deserve many blessings. MAy God Bless you both.
Stacey
You are in for some fun Beth!
I am raising my 4th border collie,Dixie, now 7 months and wearing us all out. Good thing I have 2 other BCs and a JR terrier to keep her busy. All I can say is poor Beanie!
Beth! Get thee to puppy school and fast.
Be blessed
Yay! And she gets to come to work! Fun! We had a part-border collie when I was growing up (he came from the back of a little red wagon, so his parentage was, well, uncertain) but he was the best dog ever! Congratulations!
Congratulations on the new baby!!! She is absolutely adorable.
Amanda, it was so nice to see that we are not the only ones whose children like to get into doggie cages! I have a picture of my nephew Cole that is identical to yours of Jackson!
hi moore clan! i love reading this blog, and it is so fun to see the relationship of a mom and her daughters. i am 24 years old and living 3000 miles away from my mom right now, so it’s fun to watch (read about) y’alls interactions.
anyway, the reason i’m posting is because i too just got a puppy! they think she is part border collie. her name is beulah. i’m attaching a link to her picture. i’m pretty sure that star and beulah could conquer the world should they so choose. love to you guys all the way from seattle (but a south carolina girl at heart).
ps–any training secrets?? we may need a puppy support group to get through these first few months/years!
forgot to put the link in my post, here’s beulah:
baby beu
What a cutie! Congratulations!
Oh Beth! I am so excited for you!!!! I have two little girl dogs! The older of the two, Mandy, is a golden doodle (2 years old). Our newest addition is a basset hound named Roxie (she is 4 months old). You talk about chewing!!! Oh my gosh! Enjoy!
Thanks for posting the pic of Jackson in the crate. My sweet Kinsey often crawls into her “woof woof’s”(Molly) crate too. I’ve yet to post it for fear CPS will come knocking on my door!
Congratulations on the beautiful new addition to the family. I have to admit I’m a little jealous; I wish I could bring my border collie to work.
One small piece of advice (owning a border collie for 3 years will teach you this) guard your shoes with your life! Especially it seems your more expensive shoes.
Congratulations on a beautiful, healthy baby girl! She’s precious!!! (as are you!) π Thanks for sharing…
yippee. I love her give her a kiss and get a puppy breath kiss for me.
What a beautiful little girl Beth! I’m sure she will be spoiled “sweet” by all the love you have to offer the sweet puppy! I look forward to hearing all about her!
So cute, so cute. I can hardly contain the laughter!
Beth, I’m so happy for you and Star! What a precious buddle of joy! Does she still have puppy breath? Don’t you just love it?!
What a cute litte puppy!
Our family was recently blessed with a basset hound puppy. She is the cutest little thing (with the longest ears you’ve ever seen!). She continues to trip over them constantly.
We have a two-year old golden doodle, who adores her new sister. They play so sweet together.
I’m sure you can tell that I’m a “dog person” too!
What a precious baby girl!!!
CONGRATULATIONS! Star is a STAR! So happy for you!
Please bring pictures with you to San Antonio ~
What an awesome God we serve!
Blessings, jan
That is so funny! My two year old loves to get in his grandmother’s dog’s (confusing, I know) cage whenever we are over there. I wonder why little ones want to be in cages?! Enjoy the new addition!
Congratulations on your new addition to the family. Pets bring such joy to a home.

I’m sure there will be lots of Star stories and I look forward to them. I absolutely LOVE the pic of Jackson and Star sharing. Just a hoot! Oh the captions!!
Thanks for sharing! Bitsy
All love from the tip of her nose to the tip of her tail. When is she going to the lease to sniff out her first critter.
Dog’s too are full of unconditional love.

Be careful Beth. Border Collies are like potato chips. You can’t just have one. Ask me, I have three, mom dad and pup. They are positively addicting and even though their history shows they are from border towns in England/Scotland, I am convinced that they were made in some form by the Hand of God in the Garden. They are the only breed that you can look into their eyes. In any other breed, you would be an aggressor if you maintain eye contact.
As for the kennel, I have 4 kids and they all love our kennels. We just competed in the Texas State 4-H dog show. It was a long day. Two of our group kids crawled into their dog’s kennels and took naps. One was a teenager. I have pictures. It was priceless.
Many blessings in your new found joy.
Oh dear! Your little pup is really adorable! Congratulations on becoming a mama AGAIN!
Beth, I have been around Border Collies all my life and you will love having one! I’m so happy for you that you have a new puppy. Enjoy!
What a precious baby girl! My “baby” Starr (tri-color collie) is 14 yrs old – having several vet visits lately and prayers that God would heal her as a mite took hold and she lost all her hair nearly broke my heart. God is good – she is on the mend! Love you Siesta!
