The following is an excerpt from a phone conversation between my mom and me on Friday night.
B: Hey, sweet darlin’!
AJ: Hey, Mama! How’s it going in Atlanta?
B: Well, you know Sandi Patty is here and…
AJ, interrupting/yelling: WHAT?!?! Sandi Patty is there? I’m dying! Did you talk to her?
B: Yes, I got to hug her neck and…
AJ: Did you tell her we listened to “The Friendship Company” like every day?
B: No, but…
AJ, still yelling: Were you freaking out?
B: Yes, and she and Travis sang together.
AJ, astonished that she wasn’t there: WHAT?!?! Did they sing “Another Time, Another Place”? Because if so, I’ll just die!
B: No, honey, they sang…
AJ: Mother! Love in any language, straight from the heart, pulls us all together. Never apart! And once we learn to speak it, all the world will hear…love in any language, fluently spoken here!
I didn’t die, but it has taken me a few days to recover from not being in Atlanta to hear Sandi Patty and Travis sing together! ๐
I’m glad someone else calls their mommy in the morning. ๐
Praying for safe travel and a powerful time at the conf. this weekend!!!
Blessings

That’s so funny! Ahhh… life with kids… ๐ Aren’t they great?!
This is hysterical. Sounds like me and my momma!! I am 29 years old and she would spank me in a second if she thought I really deserved it!! ๐ Love you guys so much!
That is hilarious!
๐
Too Cute!
Kids never want to “perform” when we want them to.
Have a great day..

LOL! That’s hilarious!

Sometimes you have got to give the grandparents a hard time…they aleady rule the roost in the kids eyes…and you have to keep them in line somehow.
Have a great one!!!

CUTE!
What’s the saying? “Many a child has been spoiled, cause you can’t spank Grandma!” Love it ( :
That is just Hilarious. Thanks for sharing. That is just like the way kids are. My sister’s in-laws came over last weekend to set with Brayden (2) my nephew while we were all at the hospital with my dad and he told his grandmother that she just needed to go home. He is two. doesn’t see this set of grandparents very often. That is totaly a story for another time. The point is you just never know what kids will say and do now a days. Have a great weekend we will be praying for you and the team at this first conference.

Amanda, See how Strong and Courageous you are…..bringing some salt to everyone here at the lpm blog!!
Now that’s funny! Thanks for sharing a good laugh with us!
Praying that you mama has a good conference in Vancouver. We had thought to go since we’re in Seattle but never had the peace to get the tickets. Praise God I listened cause my middle one is recovering from encephalitus and we would not have been able to go and even more disappointed after anticipating it!
you all are a hoot!
The VERY IDEA!!! I’m still looking for that wooden spoon I used to threaten Amanda with on necessary occasion. And I won’t be using it on Jackson either!
That reminds me of Psalm 128 from the Ascent study I’m in now. How do you find any place to sit down and eat with all those olive shoots around your table?
Precious lil thing! After I read that I just looked at my daughter (5yrs) and said..
Me: When you get big and are married and have kids will you still call me everyday and live close to me?
Her: Ummm, yea. I’m just gonna live on the other side of the trees. (note: we have a creek & trees across the street from us)
Me: (smiling) Oh, thank you. I love you so much. Can I have a kiss?
Her: Mom. Not now.
Lil booger!
Happy Friday!
That is so funny!!!
I am praying for the conference this weekend! I am expecting God to do mighty things this weekend for everyone there!!!
Have a great weekend Siestas!!!
Wooden spoons indeed!!!
Your comment was even funnier than the original post.
I can hear my Mom, even 2500 miles away, saying the exact same thing.
Oh, how I love my Mom, and being a Mom too!!!
Blessings
April
Amanda,
Subject 1:
Did your mommy ever make you pick your own switch or “hickry” (my grandmother’s pronunciation)? Mine would, and then she would always add as I approached the door with head hanging down to my feet – “And if it’s not big enough I’ll ‘wear-it-out’ on you & get another one!” I ALWAYS broke the largest I could find & Mother would ALWAYS cool down before I got back. Whew….
Subject 2:
I have a grandson who is also a “BREATHER”! It’s so funny; you know they’re listening because you can hear them, but they just won’t speak. And all a “Bibby” or a “G” wants is to hear the sweetest of all sounds – a word from them.
“G” from Birmingham
You are so funny! He wouldn’t dream about you spanking him, he would dream his Bibby wasn’t there to save him from one! After you said what you did to Amanda, she should have said, “I feel better!”
Love you friend and praying for you this weekend!

I soooo needed a laugh today! Sick & grumpy babies – and mommy too, financial worries, house looking like someone turned it upside down and shook it, no shower this morning – again, snowing – again, man working late – again, man working Saturday – again … it is just all too much today. I called my own mommy this morning (cause it is the ONLY time to get a hold of her) and got her message!
All of this whining to say that I needed a laugh today and a smile… and as always, got just what I needed here!
Love you all!
Becky Jo
That is a very cute story! My children were not big fans of the phone. Still aren’t and they’re 12 and 10.
My children have always yearned for their grandparents. It is so sweet ๐
hahahahaha mama beth the kids i kept last week had a “mr. nono” spoon
amanda, i believe them when they say you are the funy one..
That is great!
My two year old little girl will beg me to call my mom and when I finally do she says, “Hello? Hey.”
And that is IT!!!!! She won’t answer questions, she won’t tell her anything…”Hello? Hey.” is all she offers up! ๐
Now, Beth–put the wooden spoon up…we moms have to say stuff like that so our kids remember to love us like they love their grandparents!!
Many blessings for this weekend!
LOL! Too cute! Sounds similar to a conversation I had the other day with my mom. Hm, I need to make sure I hide the wooden spoon next time she comes to visit my daughter! (Let’s be honest, once grandbabies are in the picture, we know they don’t visit US anymore! =P )
Had to post again – Beth, we know all about the wooden spoons around here! Had one in the car, in the purse, in the house (in at last two places of course.) Really laughing!!!!! Wonder if I could get away with that now since they are 27 and 29???? I can guarantee that my momma would whip me, even at the ripe old age of 50, if I needed it . . . You go Beth – we are always parents are we not – gotta keep these youngin’s of ours in line! Even if they have their own youngin’s!
Oh! That’s funny!!!
This is why we don’t live next door to our mothers once we are grown. We must stay out of striking range.
Thanks so much for that…what a hoot!
Too FUNNY!!!
we should have a kids’ say the darndest things post one of these days… talk about comic relief! Most times the things they say are even funnier than the things they WON”T say! However I could have done without my 11 year old informing her grandma she didn’t even remember what grandma gave her for her birthday as she ‘just isn’t that into clothes…’ Made this mama turn red!
O! I love it! Im laughing so stkin hard right now! Have a blast this weekend and im praying for the conf! Love you ALL!!
That’s pretty funny! Thanks for the laugh ๐
That’s just too hilarious! So true, too! I have a 2 yr old grandson in TX that I don’t get to see very often. My daughter and I get on the web cam so that I can talk to him and he can see his Nana. She says he’s always saying, “Talk Nana, talk Nana” and when we get on he just sits there and smiles then turns and watches TV!
I can’t wait to see him in May!
Btw, I still threaten my daughter with a spanking every now and then and she’s 29! ๐

Don’t you just love it when its your kids that get you into trouble? I hope that spoon doesn’t get you AJ! Blessings on your weekend. Julie
