Good Monday Morning From IAH

Good Monday morning, my beloved Siestas!

I am at the Houston Airport (IAH) with my man and we are waiting to get on a flight to Denver where we’ll then connect to Wyoming and join the Jones. We’ve got a slight maintenance delay and I’m a bit concerned about our layover. One thing I can tell you for sure. A life of airports will remind you over and over just how little control a folk has over most circumstances!

I am hoping some of you guys from North Dakota get on here today because I have to tell you something. Not only did I totally LOVE you and LOVE studying God’s Word with you, you guys gave $10,000 dollars to the poor through Samaritan’s Purse. Did you hear what I said???? $10,000! They were absolutely FLOORED. For crying out loud, WE were absolutely floored. I’ve never posted the charitable giving before but I had to this time. You need to know that you 4200 women outgave groups over twice your size. Please don’t misunderstand me to imply the least negative thing about a single one of our wonderful groups. We don’t ever measure our groups like that. People can only give what they can give and some areas of the country are suffering financially much more than others. At the same time, I just had to let you know how generous you were. Organizations like Samaritan’s Purse really get hit by financial crises like the one we’re experiencing so this was a huge help to them. They’ll turn that money into provision for the poor as soon as possible. Thank you so much, ladies! Thank you so much!

I love all you guys like crazy. You won’t waste a prayer on our family right now. At the top of our needs is a loved one with a health issue. That’s all I feel free to say right now but I cannot express how much we’d appreciate your prayers for healing. As much as I know it would be in love, please try not to get into conjecture in your comments on who or what it might be because it will inevitably lead to rumors. If about 5000 of you would say just one general prayer each, we’d feel blessed beyond measure. We would know that, no matter what, the heart of God was moved by the copious prayers of the saints. Thank you, Sisters. We pray for you, too.

Talk to you soon! And I will give you a general update on that situation before long, too.

Honored to be your servant,
Beth

UPDATE: Our flight was cancelled so we had to go down to baggage claim, reclaim our bags, go back through ticketing, get new seats and get booked on another flight five hours later. And we don’t have a car at the airport so we, two equally hyperactive adults, are just sitting tight. Yes, Michelle offered to come get us but I’m not letting her go to that much trouble. Just so happens we’re in IAH’s only small terminal and the lone one that doesn’t allow you to take the train to any of the hopping ones. Thankfully, a sparrow is loose in the terminal and is perched about five feet from Keith and me so we’re momentarily spared from perishing of unmitigated boredom. Because of the economy, most of the kiosks are closed so shopping is out of the question but there is a Rosetta Stone vending machine that keeps calling our names. Keith and I are thinking of learning Swahili while we’re here. I’ll keep you posted.

    Mrs. Beth,
I am in deep prayer for your loved one. I am currently in your Esther study right now, and we are studying your "if what…then what question." I have felt so much comfort in confronting my worst fears through this question, and I now know that despite my circumstance that, to me, may feel out of control, God in his sweet grace, is in perfect control!! I am praying for complete healing for your loved one. Know that you too are in my prayers…your servant's heart is precious and vital to the Body of Christ. Thank you for your service!
    With love,

    Beth,
I am praying for your family member.
Just want to say I started your DVD series, A Beautiful Mind.
Curious did the Lord lay the name Sharon on your heart as you were preparing this message.
I listened to the first DVD, and bawled, then when my husband came home, I had him listen, and told him just interject my name at the beginning of each sentence. He agreed it was/is me.(even Blonder than I pay to be)
Thank you so much for all the teaching that you share.
    Have a Blessed vacation.
    Love and Hugs, Sharon
PS…looking forward to the simulcast the end of the month.

Father, I come straight into Your Presence to lift up this loved one with health needs. No name needed for You to know the need for You are God and no one else can compare. We Cry Out to You, God. We NEED You, God.

LORD, I ask that in this black and white space where words seem so simple and direct, that Your Power would enter into this prayer as You intercede before the Father.

LORD, I look at You hanging on the cross. I see Your blood, Your precious blood, dripping from Your hands, Your feet, Your beautiful head…and from Your side. Thank You for Your blood shed for my sins. But Jesus, it's not these wounds that I focus on right now. I walk with boldness around You. I look up at Your torn flesh on Your back.

    I see the stripes.

My hand reaches out to catch a drop of Your Healing Blood dripping from the stripes on Your back.

I ask right now that Your stripes would heal this dear one in Beth's request. I pray that You would pour out Your power over them and heal them.

Lord, it is by your stripes that we are healed.

Thank You for healing every physical need, every emotional need and every spiritual need as we allow the blood from Your stripes to drip with holiness on our needs and on this person Beth has requested prayer for. I thank You for Your compassion over us. May Your blood heal our needs and give us the strength to serve You with compassion. Compassion. It is when we are most reflecting Your Presence in our lives. In Jesus Name. Amen.

I will continue to lift your loved one and your entire family up in prayer. I know your schedule has been incredibly busy lately. Praying that all of you will be able to get some rest. May the Lord bless you and your loved ones for the many sacrifices you have given for the kingdom. He is faithful!!

Thank you for making it to Fargo. This was my 4th lpl event that I attended and I was greatful to not have to travel 3-9 hours, you came to my wonderful city!!
How very humbling it was to pray over woman as an encourager. The pain is tangible and God spoke through you for healing for many.
The Ticket has Beth Moores name on it but God is the main speaker. Thanks to your prayer teams that prayed for the Little event that DID bring glory to God. Come back soon. I am on my last of your bible studies "Stepping up" And I can't bring myself to finish the last week until I know you have another one for me to look forward to. :} Thanks again for telling us to write a story worthy of a song, any chance Travis would sing mine?
Many prayers sent for healing of your loved one and everyone who is praying that prayer of hope for healing. Kim

    Beth,

Thank you so much for your Godly example and your passion for His people!

What a perfect testimony in the giving from Fargo that God's economy is unlike man's. I am seeing it consistently in financial matters that this (economic time) is time for Christ followers to have faith and trust in the Lord in all our ways and lean not on our own understanding. God has shown me again and again (I'm a slow learner!) that all resources are His and that when I am faithful He makes available immeasurably more than I can imagine!

I can't wait to see you in Michigan in May. Praying for your family as you have asked. Peace and God's power be with you, Kim

Beth, my summer Bible study just finished Living Beyond Yourself last night. I can't tell you how blessed I was by your "rededication" prayer at the end, and by that whole last message. I have struggled with various eating disorders my whole life and have never heard such a truth-filled message on the subject from a Christian speaker. Thank you for challenging me as well as helping me to see that I am equipped; the Lord blessed me richly through you this summer. Thank you, thank you, Mama Beth!

A Rosetta Stone vending machine? Who would have thought of such a thing! My internet connection is not working at home, so I came to the pool with my kids for a second time today, so I could get on here. I just prayed for your family member. Anyway, my kids are started to talk like they want to leave. You know how addicted I am when it has only been a day without internet. My husband will be home tomorrow morning to fix it. I don't really know if you read all of your comments but we are new IMB missionaries in Costa Rica learning Spanish for one year and then we head to Puebla, Mexico for as long as it takes to saturate them with the Gospel. I wanted to ask for prayer. Prayer for our little ones Lottie and Emma Jane…they are four and for our big kids we left behind in Texas, James and Elisabeth (25 & 21).

Transition to Costa Rica was pretty easy….it is very beautiful here and the people are so friendly but each day it is so hard for our little ones to be away from their big brother and sister, selling our home and all of their toys….as we knew it would.

We know that the Lord has called us to spend the rest of our lives doing His work and this was probably the hardest thing I have ever laid on the altar was my big kids and He has only given me peace with that hard decision. He has blessed us.

I have begun your study of David, A heart like His….knowing that while I am learning a new language I will need to continue to seek out God and strive each day to have a heart like His.

Also, please pray for me to find a special local friend that I can minister to and speak the language daily with. Thank you for your Bible studies…..I haven't done that many but my favorite is John…the Beloved. I loved the end of it and the way you had me draw a picture of the throne room….I will never forget that picture in my head. You are a blessing. I am adding your family member to my prayer journal. Huge Texas hugs to you Beth!

Beth, I just had to comment on your blog for our new Scripture verse day. You mentioned Travis' song from Psalm 145. Last summer I had a double mastectomy & then got an antibiotic-resistent staph infection from the surgery. My sweet Bible study friends here helped me down the stairs to my basement each week as we continued to study the Psalms of Ascent. During one of my weakest & darkest times, Travis sang "Forevermore" on the DVD. I turned to the psalm to follow along & saw written on it: "my cancer verses" with the date I got the results of my biopsy. God had directed me to that psalm & I prayed over it as I praised Him. When Travis sang that song, I wept with the remembrance of how our sweet Savior held me in His arms. I cannot ever describe what a blessing it was. That study meant so much to me during that point in my life. It's a year later now, and I am cancer free, thank the Lord. I still cannot hear that song without crying. I will bless His holy name forevermore!

Dearest "Siesta Beth," it's Sunday afternoon and I'm ready for a Siesta! A real big one, hence the capital "S"!!! But I cannot flop my head down in my pillow until I send you a note of prayer and love your way.

This is Heidi, a young woman that you prayed with at UNH) I just visited the LPM blog and saw your prayer request. I have told my "MumZ" immediately, as I skipped a few stairs to run with the news of prayer requests. You see, she (and many of us other women) leads a women's Bible study on Tuesday nights, The Connection. She has been a forerunner of seeking the desire of the Lord's heart in all matters. One matter she led us seek the LORD in is to pray through entire Summer for the Living Proof Simulcast. She led us to not only pray for that date of the simulcast, but to pray for where the LORD takes us all that hears from Him after that date (Aug 28-29).

As part of the praying we have committed ourselves to reading and praying through Psalm 37 for the month of August. As I journaled through Ps 37 I was "awakened" to many "profound" cross-references to Psalm 37. So, before my siesta, it is on my heart to pray one of the cross-references over you nad your family, and the family member with health issues.

    (Ps 145:18-19)

Heavenly Father, Your word says that You are near to all who call on You, to all who call on You in truth. Your word says that you fulfill the desires of those who fear You; You hear their cry, and and You save them. So Lord, I am asking that you will be near to our siesta Beth and her family at this time…and most of all Jehovah Shammah, we pray that we will choose to trust, dwell, commit, and wait upon You…choosing the life that You desired for us so long ago to this very day and 'til the day to come (Deut 30:19b-20).

Until Friday night Beloved "Siesta" Beth, let's seek Him and continue to be delighted in Him as we do…

    In much prayer and love,
    Heidi
