Good Monday Morning From IAH

Good Monday morning, my beloved Siestas!

I am at the Houston Airport (IAH) with my man and we are waiting to get on a flight to Denver where we’ll then connect to Wyoming and join the Jones. We’ve got a slight maintenance delay and I’m a bit concerned about our layover. One thing I can tell you for sure. A life of airports will remind you over and over just how little control a folk has over most circumstances!

I am hoping some of you guys from North Dakota get on here today because I have to tell you something. Not only did I totally LOVE you and LOVE studying God’s Word with you, you guys gave $10,000 dollars to the poor through Samaritan’s Purse. Did you hear what I said???? $10,000! They were absolutely FLOORED. For crying out loud, WE were absolutely floored. I’ve never posted the charitable giving before but I had to this time. You need to know that you 4200 women outgave groups over twice your size. Please don’t misunderstand me to imply the least negative thing about a single one of our wonderful groups. We don’t ever measure our groups like that. People can only give what they can give and some areas of the country are suffering financially much more than others. At the same time, I just had to let you know how generous you were. Organizations like Samaritan’s Purse really get hit by financial crises like the one we’re experiencing so this was a huge help to them. They’ll turn that money into provision for the poor as soon as possible. Thank you so much, ladies! Thank you so much!

I love all you guys like crazy. You won’t waste a prayer on our family right now. At the top of our needs is a loved one with a health issue. That’s all I feel free to say right now but I cannot express how much we’d appreciate your prayers for healing. As much as I know it would be in love, please try not to get into conjecture in your comments on who or what it might be because it will inevitably lead to rumors. If about 5000 of you would say just one general prayer each, we’d feel blessed beyond measure. We would know that, no matter what, the heart of God was moved by the copious prayers of the saints. Thank you, Sisters. We pray for you, too.

Talk to you soon! And I will give you a general update on that situation before long, too.

Honored to be your servant,
Beth

UPDATE: Our flight was cancelled so we had to go down to baggage claim, reclaim our bags, go back through ticketing, get new seats and get booked on another flight five hours later. And we don’t have a car at the airport so we, two equally hyperactive adults, are just sitting tight. Yes, Michelle offered to come get us but I’m not letting her go to that much trouble. Just so happens we’re in IAH’s only small terminal and the lone one that doesn’t allow you to take the train to any of the hopping ones. Thankfully, a sparrow is loose in the terminal and is perched about five feet from Keith and me so we’re momentarily spared from perishing of unmitigated boredom. Because of the economy, most of the kiosks are closed so shopping is out of the question but there is a Rosetta Stone vending machine that keeps calling our names. Keith and I are thinking of learning Swahili while we’re here. I’ll keep you posted.

FURTHER UPDATE:

Nitakula – I will eat

Hi Beth, i know you have 87 comments already on this post (how do you get to it all??) but just wanted to say that our little women's group in East London, South Africa have just started Esther and it's AWESOME! Yesterday was introductory session and it was simply fabulous. I get so inspired & energised by your sessions, really! Wanted to get stuck straight into homework last night, but alas, some slightly high maintenance little boys of mine needed me more…
Just needing to say THANK YOU (and to gush, just a little).

Lord, oh, Lord how majestic are your ways!? Let us remember that, and even though times of worry and sickness may shake us, that we could claim Your mighty Word bravely and believe it! Would You please heal Beth & Keith's family member from their health issue? I can't explain this any other way then to say I desperately care for Beth and her concerns, though we've never met. She has been obedient to you, Lord, and in so doing has blessed so many of us greatly. Grant our request, in the powerful name of Jesus I pray, AMEN!

Enjoy your beautiful getaway to Wyoming. I know you will be refreshed by the mountains. In the meantime, I hope you and Keith can settle into the delay. I do live a little closer if you need a rescue to brunch or something. I am praying for your loved one for complete returned health this morning. And, if you can figure out how to bottle and send it, that fresh, crisp air would be a welcome thing here in Houston. Safe travels. Love, Annette

Thank you! Have a wonderful time with your kiddos ๐Ÿ™‚

and on a less serious note, thanks beth, for the work you do and looking fashionable at the same time! the girls always tease me because when we have to restart the video for each weeks lesson, i always know where we are for what you were wearing the previous week! i'm a little of a fashionista girl too. love being girly!

Father, Please touch this preson with your healing touch. Comfort this person and release your anointing that will break every yoke. Father, some things have to be petitioned again and again. During this time let our confidence grow stronger and not weaker. Let our hope be overflowing. Lord, you are near to the brokenhearted. Compensate this person with your presence and with spiritual authority as this person endures suffering. Never leave this person without hope. Help this person to be content in plenty and in want b/c your grace is truly sufficent. Father, we need you. Apart from you we can do nothing. We can put no confidence in the flesh and at times like this we see just how flimsy our flesh is. Lord, you tell us that in our weakness your strength is perfected. Let your strength be perfected in this person as this person grows to rely upon you more and more. Lord, we know that this trial is not going to be in vain. You will use it to accomplish something far greater than anything that has been lost.
Lord, I think of how you have kept your servants strong. You gave Moses, Caleb and so many others supernatural health. We pray for that some gift to be given to this person. Grant this person a body that will be able to serve – for we are to serve with the strength you give us.

    In Jesus Name – Amen

Jambo, sweet friends! My parents lived in Tanzania/Kenya for 2 years before my brother and I were born, and their favorite thing to do was to speak code at the dinner table. Whenever they had something secretive to disuss (aka: our birthdays, surprises, etc) they would just start speaking in Swahili so we couldn't understand them. We always got so annoyed, and eventually taught ourselves (with an English to Swahili dictionary) how to say words like "yes" & "no" (to pick arguments about doing our chores of course), and others just for name-calling purposes like "elephant", "cow" and "chicken". Needless to say, my parents always won the riveting afican safari name-calling games. Who says preachers kids can't have fun? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ya'll have fun in the quietness of your save haven and retreat away from home.
    Love you more

    Beth,

I am McKenzie's cousin–she was the nine year old girl who accepted Christ into her heart at your conference in Fargo. I just wanted to let you know that McKenzie's Grandma also accepted Christ into her heart but didn't tell anybody so we didn't know she was suppose to be down on the floor getting prayed over. So instead of 19 there were actually 20. How cool is that for McKenzie and her Grandma to accept Jesus into her heart in the same day but they didn't realize each other had done that. Her Grandma has belived in Jesus all her life but never officially accepted him into her heart before. Thank god she finally did! Thanks again for coming up North.

Enjoy your time together. I so wish I had the opportunity to shop, have lunch or just talk on the phone with my mother. She is losing her memory which makes coherent conversation next to impossible.

Seriously love on one another and never let any amount of upset get in the way of your relationships.

Of course you already know that and I am sure have been blessed by it.

I thought I would post for anyone out there who may be struggling with family "stuff".

    Hello Beth!
I was one of the many people in the Fargodome this past weekend! I was truly moved by your talk and the way Travis and the praise team lead us in worship. You all have been given such glorious gifts for reaching people's hearts through words and music. Friday night during the storm was so powerful! I shared some of the highlights of your talk during a devotional time at my workplace — out of my comfort zone! But I was thrilled to be given the courage to "sing my song" to others. You and your team are in my prayers! I'm one of the many that is lifting up your loved one with the health concern, as well! Thank you for having such a lasting impact on my "story!"
