I’m not sure how many of you have jumped on the Pinterest bandwagon, but it’s a fun website that, in my words, can only be explained as an online cork-board. (You “pin” things you’re “interested” in on boards you’ve created. Confused yet?) Does anybody still actually own a cork-board? You might be my hero if so. Truthfully, it is one of those websites that if used in moderation or correctly, it’s very neat, but on the flip side, it can easily become another waste of time, or worse, a comparison trap to make you incredibly discontent with the things you don’t own, the way your house isn’t decorated, the clothes you’ll never own, or the recipes you’ll never master. You’re also liable to sit down and browse and the next thing you know, you’ve spent two hours pinning items you’ll never look at again.
In fact, I saw this definition of Pinterest on Pinterest and I couldn’t help but laugh.
Funny.
Here’s the deal, I’m not dogging Pinterest in any way, shape or form, I have my own account that I am very fickle with. I’ll go weeks without ever logging on, and then in a split second, I’ll waste two hours browsing one day. I need some pinterest balance in my life. We just all have to remind ourselves that it is simply a fun website. One day, honestly, it will be non-existent.
However, there have been times when I’ve been going about my Pinterest business, and I’ll run across the most hilarious picture or quote. It makes me terribly happy. Because after all, sometimes you just need to laugh. Amen?
So today I thought we all could use a laugh or two, so without further ado, allow me to share a few pins off of my “Makes Me Laugh” Board.
I sure hope it makes you laugh, too.
I only wish my mom had originally sent me this text. Brilliant. And had me rolling.

Truth. If only I could wash my face as graceful as the models do. It’s an impossible task.
Admit it…
Happy Thursday, y’all.
Thanks, Lindsee…so happy to share a laugh with you!
I like Pinterest too and have also noticed it is easy for me to become discontent with what I have. I have to count my blessings – sometimes even sing the song LOL
It also is a bit annoying to get motivated to exercise and be fit then see 6+ posts of YUMMY desserts!
I adore the funny stuff you posted, Lindsee! That is my favorite stuff to repin!
Happy Friday!!
Still laughing……. :o)
Thanks!!!
Lindsee, I just got back on the lpm site tonight after awhile of being mia and was glancing through and saw your picture. I thought I knew you and did a few double takes and then some stalking. So I know I’m way behind but just saw your welcome video from 2011 and realized we went to SHSU together. I just thought it was cool to be poured into from someone from my college days and I also wanted to say how awesome it is to see how God is working in your life and the opportunities he’s given you! Just wanted to say a late congratulations, blessings, and thank you for all you do! ~Mandy (Higgins) Alexander
Hi Mandy! Of course I remember you. I’m so glad you said hi! Hope all is well in your world!
Oh my goodness… that Whale one is HILARIOUS!
LOL!! Thanks for sharing!
Enjoyed your post Lindsee. I am a sporadic Pinterest user and some days yes it just makes me happy.
I too enjoy my Pinterest moments, with a cup of coffee and a little time to waste …it’s just a fun site!
My fav is the vintage ! Why, I don’t know, just makes me smile!!
HYSTERICAL!
Loved this post. Thanks Lindsee- laughter is medicine for the soul and I need to see this. Love the raisin/chocolate chip cookie one- so funny!
Thanks for tickling my funnybone with some good humor!
Ok, that last one just cracked me up. Good to know I am not the only weirdo! π
So funny. I wanted to “like” them all but I couldn’t find the “Like” button. Oh wait, wrong website.
That was funny, Shelly. Too many to keep up with, right? π
This makes me smile and giggle:) Funny:)
Okay, I truly laughed out loud at that last one. I thought I was the only one!
Lindsee: thank you for sharing the smiles! I’m trying to get caught up where I can on the blog here amidst the gobs of homework & studying, and cringing thru some of the required readings for my creative writing class along the way, as well as my son’s problems.
And I have an important prayer request on that note: my son had a serious melt down last night, worse than he’s had before and it caught me by surprise. He also said some things that worry me, and in light of the symptoms he’s being medically treated for, what he said has been what we’ve also been keeping eyes/ears out for, but it was the new things he said & did that scare me for him. I can’t go into further details, but it’s upsetting & frightening as a mom to watch one of her children descend into the frightening unknown and wonder if this is the time he won’t be able to come out of it. I’m only so strong & my dad, stepmom, and brothers are on the far side of the Mississippi from us unfortunately.
Thanks

Just finishing the James study. Fav quote from day 1 week seven, “Sometimes we mean well and things don’t turn out well. And, still, God gets it done.” Praise God!! Have so enjoyed learning to know this James and reminding myself to be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry!
My first study with you was ‘Living Beyond Yourself’. So thankful for that study, can still rattle off all those delicious fruits of the spirit too. Our ladies group started this study last Feb, 2012. The next day my husband left for a business trip to Africa that was supposed to take 2 weeks. He was gone for 5 1/2 months. Ten of those weeks your study held my hand firmly in my Jesus’ hands. Many times I wanted to yank it away, and your homework would keep me anchored in the Word. Same is true as I go through ‘James, Mercy Triumphs’. I love working through the Word in your studies. Thank you for the much hard work that goes into making these studies possible.
Would love to see you in G’boro NC in April 2013! God Bless!
