Batman Forever!

These are not the best pictures, but I thought I’d share some from our church’s annual Fall Festival. Jackson wore a Batman costume and HE LOVED HIMSELF. He really had no idea what he was, but he was completely energized by his built-in muscles, cape, and mask.

Right before the fun began.

Batman flexing his bat muscles.

One of the highlights of Batman’s night was a baby pool filled with balls. He worked himself into a frenzy. Look at his red face.

As I ironed my son’s costume that evening, I realized I should have dressed as Alfred. But that would have been quite a stretch for Pregnant Girl.

Upon seeing the two firetrucks, one with a giant ladder reaching into the sky, I asked Jackson if this was the happiest day of his life. He said yes.

My, how things change! Look at my child’s face. Sheer terror. Someone blasted the other fire truck’s horn when we were standing right by it. It was L-O-U-D.

Don’t tell Jackson that the Batmobile isn’t an inflatable red car.

Batman’s smooth exit from the Batmobile.

What can Batman conquer next?

Here are some pics from Fall Festivals Past, AKA “the years when mommy got to dress Jackson however she wanted.” We are currently in the superhero-for-boys/Disney- princess-for-girls years of toddlerhood.

The first year Jackson was a frog.

Last year Jackson was a golfer. I could have eaten him up with a spoon.

Next year I’ll have another little one to dress!

    Amanda,
I always discovered with my boys that the superhero costumes led to more “active” behavior than say…golfer.
    Was that true?
    He is adorable as always,

Now girls, everybody knows that Alfred would never let Batman go out with wrinkles! So I say, good form Amanda! By the way, I would iron everything that little man put on. And if you ever get him into another little golfing outfit, I’ll bring my own spoon. : )

This was my first time to read the LPM blog and I just had to leave a comment! My son Jackson just turned three and was batman this year too! Last year, even crazier, he wore the very same golfer constume as your Jackson. I guess great mom minds think alike 🙂

Totally adorable. My son had a Superman puffy chest costume like that a couple years back. Tried to get his sister to wear it this year and go as Supergirl but no go! It was Star Wars and Abby Cadabby this year. I have to ask why you were ironing the costume though? 🙂

    The Journey Continues ~

DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH BATMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! POW, KAZAAM, ZOWEEE, JEEPERS, 🙂

I was singing the old version.

    Our Halloween was quite eventful…
We were awakened by our next door neighbors banging on our front door a little before 7:00 AM saying FIRE!!!! I called 911

Their garage was in flames and had jumped to our roof & fence line.
7 fire engines and 25 firefighters performed amazing tasks & blessed us. We were all safe and our house was saved. 2 firemen asked me "you must have ANGELS around your home"
I smiled and said "YES, I do"
The next door neighbors dog had just had puppies and one was missing…. 3 hours after the fire, they found the puppy ALIVE!

I am thrilled to see that Jackson was Batman and enjoyed the fire trucks…
I saw how they REALLY WORK!!
PRAISE GOD FOR WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW!!!!!!!!

By the way Amanda, YOU ARE STUNNING!!!

    Harvest Blessings,

    Amanda,

My little boy is 3 years old and he was batman, too. What I love about little boys is that in that moment of time – they ARE batman. His walk changed, his talk changed, and his view changed 🙂 My little girls jump in and out of character (Belle etc), but not batman. What is also cool is that when he prays, God is a Superhero, a Warrior, He is Powerful. I’ve thought “Wow, you are so right, son!”

Love the pics of Jackson. I have two little boys (3 and 1) and seeing Jackson in that batman suit just cracks me up – it’s nice knowing someone else out there is dealing with a spunky young man such as myself.

I thought I’d throw a question out here and see what kind of feedback I get. I am teaching a Bible study next week to a group of women on the battle we fight with low self-esteem. I believe this has become an epidemic among women effecting us all – young to old. I need help locating resources that can give me valuable and Biblical information on how we as women can combat low self-esteem. Any suggestions? Thanks, ladies.

Amanda, Thanks for sharing. How adorable is he? Of course you ironed his costume. Mommy’s do that for their kids even if they don’t enjoy ironing! I even suspect your Mom is a much better cook than she lets on!!!

These were such a delight to see. Thank you for showing us your “little hero”. I was a very proud Mom of Batman, Superman, Peter Pan and Robin Hood (one boy-lots of heros). I was so inspired that he was determined to save the world from all evil. At 20, he still has such a kind heart to help the underdog. I will never forget when he told me he was too old for trick or treating. I was like “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO”. Oh well, we do move on.

Last year I drove around the neighborhood just to see all the little ones dressed up ( my boy was away now at college). I was in memory bliss. Didn’t do it again this year cuz after I thought about it, I probably looked alittle alarming to the parents while I drove slowly down streets.

    Thanks, JoAnn

Absolutely precious!! My seven year old just adores Abe Lincoln, and Jim Elliot, and couldn’t decide which man he should be… in the end, it was decided that Abe would be a much more recognizable costume, so we went with it… it was so cute! And Amanda, just so you know… girls are sooo much more fun to dress up than boys!!! (mine is five, and was Snow White.) Thanks for sharing!

Oh Amanda, he is so sweet! I am right now doing Beth’s first bible study of the Old Tabernacle (and loving it!) and she has re-done this bible study. I loved it when you had given birth to sweet Jackson and how enamered she was showing pictures of her new, beautiful grandbaby! How precious! God Bless you all! Your mom is such a wonderful gift and I would like her to know how much God has been moving in my life as I am going through this bible study. I have never seen Him so active in my life and He is doing so many amazing things in me! Praise God!!! Wishing you love and prayers,

    WOW says:

Well, I have to say, he is adorable! It must have been the “year of the bat” because my 6 year old grandson, and my 2 nephews were also batman. My nieces were characters from “Star Wars” because my brother is an absolute “Star Wars” geek! Sorry if that offends anyone, but he really is! He made all of us go to see the “Clone Wars” and the look on my mom’s face was priceless! Anyways…the niece who is 3…Elly was Yoda, and oh my goodness, she was so funny, and my niece Mia was some character from the “Clone” movie whose name escapes me. They just have so much fun dressing up! It makes great memories especially when they grow up and say…”I can’t believe you dressed me up like that!”

Fall Festival? We have one too! Although it’s got a few more words. “Family Fall Fun Fest”. Not quite the same but close. Our church has put it together for our community for the last three years. Each year it grows by 400 people. This year it was almost 1200! Praise the LORD we actually ran out of candy bags! Moose Mama put herself out of a job that night. I agree, the “baby lobster” was REALLY cute but I gotta say that the cutest thing was this one little “Cowboy Small” (who looked just like my husband).
